Name: Mina
Effect: Your Pokemon are immune to the secondary effects of moves. Your Pokemon can't have their Speed lowered by opposing Pokemon.
Description: Mina's ace is a Ribombee with the ability Shield Dust which is famous for its access to Sticky Web (she doesn't use it since its her ace, but Ribombee does get it). Shield Dust is a cool but underrated ability that is stuck on weak pokemon. Covert Cloak is cool but its hard to justify it over things like Leftovers or HDB. Trainers have generally weaker effects, allowing Mina to shine as the perfect place for a more effective Shield Dust outlet.

“Hard-Working Anarchist”
Name: Dustin (aka Masahiko)
Effect: Your Pokémon’s Steel-type moves deals 1.3x damage if you moved last.
Description: Dustin is a trainer that indirectly or directly controls the Mecha-Tyranitar (aka MT) in the Big Monster series. MT itself have the Steel-type and Analytic, hence the effect.
Competitive Potential: Steel moves in general doesn’t have a lot of oomph on them despite many Steel-type Pokémon being slow, so this effect will help slow Steel-type Pokémon to gain extra firepower on their Steel-type STAB, although it can also work as Steel-type coverage vs Fairy-type and Ice-type for your other Pokémon.
Biggest Benefactors: Any slow Steel-type Pokémon, slow Pokémon with at least one usable Steel-type moves.
![]()
Name: Youngster Joey
Effect: Quick Attack gains 20bp, Tackle gains 80bp, Tail Whip switches out the user.
Description: Buffs the preferred moves of his top percentage Rattata. Tackle is the most nieche change here but it allows mons like cinderace a nieche strong neutral option. Quick Attack gives mons like Cinderace and Weavile powerful priority under Tera and can allow BL mons like Blaziken and Iron Boulder to reach viability with less weakness to opposing priority. Tail Whip can turn Clodsire and Umbreon into bulky pivots that can support physical attackers and specifically aid Umbreon with Wish passing, while allowing offensive mons like Samurott and Azumaril to gain pivoting for utility and momentum.
Lorelei: This is going to be vetoed for providing too big of a stop against Water-types. Reduce the damage decrease to 0.75x and it should be fine.![]()
Name: Lorelei
Effect: Your Pokemon take half-damage from Water-type moves. Your Pokemon can't be infatuated or taunted.
Description: Lorelei in FRLG has her Lapras that has Water Absorb as her final Pokemon. She also has two Pokemon on her team which both have Oblivious. So I smashed the two ideas together while also toning down the effects to not make it unbearable.
![]()
Name: Kahili
Effect: Your Pokemon recieve 1/2 damage from ball and bomb moves. Your own ball and bomb moves (except for Rock Wrecker, though I doubt it would be an issue if included because of the recharge turn) have 1.3x power.
Description: she golf.
Grimsley: Doubling all secondary effects is too much of an effect, therefore this will be vetoed. Reduce the secondary effect increase to a flat 10% boost or a 1.3x boost.![]()
Name: Grimsley
Effect: Your Pokémon's moves' secondary effect chance is doubled. (Serene Grace)
Description: He canonically has a ruinous gambling addiction, and everyone knows that the more you gamble the luckier you get!
![]()
Name: Rika
Effect: The first time you send a Pokémon into battle, it immediately uses Attract.
Description: When I first encountered Rika, it was love at first sight. This submission aims to replicate that. I lobve her,
Shauntal: I like the idea, but since trainers are revealed before the battle starts, this is going to be vetoed for being too weak. Make it once per Pokemon and it should be fine.![]()
Name: Shauntal
Effect: The first Pokemon that switches in uses Imprison, once per battle.
Description: Shauntal is a Ghost-type user and writer who writes biographies, so I thought Imprison would be an interesting description as she probably writes something that curses the opponent.
Hassel: This is going to be vetoed for being too strong. We were on the fence about this one but we decided that it causes Draco Meteor to become too potent as well as stepping on the niche that Iris has.![]()
Name: Hassel
Effect: Moves that lower stats sharply only lower stats by one stage, but the user takes double damage until their next turn.
Description: Hassel's ace is a Baxcaliber, so this takes from Glaive Rush. Since Iris already buffs Dragons, this is more of a general buff. Specifically for more hyper offensive teams which can afford to be more easily revenged.
![]()
Name: Glacia
Effect: Non Ice types on your team gain 1.3x defense during snow, Ice types (excluding Kyurem) heal 1/16th of their health during snow.
Description: Counterpart to Steven which emphasises more hybrid forms of weather teams like Screens Offense and Glowking pivoting rather than a full Snow team. Allows non kyurem ice types to either be actually viable in terms of defensive utility and more likely facilitates offensive ice mons like Cetitan and Weavile. Also could be used to Tera Ice something running boots for recovery.
Lucian: This is going to be vetoed for being really powerful on stall as well as stepping too far on the toes of Dustin. Rework the sub to something else.![]()
Name: Lucian
Effect: Your Pokemon take 0.8x less damage and deal 1.1x more damage if they move after the opponent.
Description: Lucian's main, Bronzong, is naturally slow and tanky, and in the anime, he typically allows the opponent to attack first. Bronzong tanks the attacks and then responds with Gyro Ball, a move that's stronger the slower you are compared to your opponent. He comes across as a patient, analytic type who waits for the perfect moment to strike. His support effect promotes the use of slower Pokemon, especially oriented toward bulky offense Pokemon/teams. While many supports are solely offense oriented, Lucian's provides a mix of offense and defense, requiring strategic teambuilding to use him well.
![]()
Name: Siebold
Effect: Your team's Water-type attacks deal 1.1x damage. Water and Fire type attacks gain +20% chance to burn.
Description: Siebold is a Water-type user and a master chef, so this effect is just him trying to cook the opponent's Pokemon. This means Scald has an even higher chance to burn, and the opponent's physical attackers will need to be more cautious staying in against anything with Water or Fire type attacks. This could make teams that like using these move types more potent, like rain and sun teams.
Rika: Grounding each Pokemon by hitting them as well as Magnitude each turn is too much and this is vetoed. I saw your original version of this and it was much more reasonable. Noglastica came up with a version that would work: After attacking, both Pokemon are hit by Magnitude. This way, it incentivizes building your team around Levitate, Flying-types, and Air Balloon while also making less potent types such as Grass or Bug extra appealing. That is still a really strong effect, but it has a clear downside that can be mitigated by good teambuilding.![]()
Name: Rika
Effect: Your damaging moves ground the target. At the end of the turn, a Magnitude of random power will damage the target at the end of the turn, similar to Future Sight.
Description: Upon her Tera-Ground Clodsire using Earthquake the first time, she does warn us to Watch your step, 'cause things are about to get shaky! Magnitude is Earthquake's lesser cousin, and its unpredictability serves as a warning for us to keep us on our guard.
![]()
Name: Caitlin
Effect: Sets up Reflect and Light Screen the first time you enter the battlefield. Your team's Reflect, Light Screen, Aurora Veil, is extended to eight turns and cannot be broken by moves such as Brick Break or Psychic Fangs.
Description: In Masters, Caitlyn has a Mega Sableye sync pair whose Ability/Passive set this up. Competitively speaking, this helps bolster your defensive backbone in the early game.
![]()
Name: Grimsley
Effect: When you are hit by an attack, you use Metronome. Using a Metronome this way is a separate action to using the move originally selected, similar to Dancer. If you are hit by a multistrike move (such as Population Bomb), only the final hit will trigger the Metronome.
Description: A beautiful loss is still a loss, and an ugly win is still a win! This gambling addict ups the ante, slipping in more chances for an attack. I see no point for a Serene Grace effect since we have Mina...
I changed Lucian's to only affect Psychic types and reduced the damage reduction. Siebold's effect no longer affects Fire type moves and the added burn percentage has been lowered. Is this enough of an adjustment?Lucian: This is going to be vetoed for being really powerful on stall as well as stepping too far on the toes of Dustin. Rework the sub to something else.
Siebold: This is going to be vetoed for providing too big of a benefit for spamming Water and Fire moves. Scald is an incredibly potent move for a reason so being able to slap a mini version of it onto every Water/Fire move is too much. Please rework the effect.
No goat, you can submitUhhhh, am I too late to post a new submission now?
these are still vetoed since they haven't been changed![]()

Description: When I first encountered Rika, it was love at first sight. This submission aims to replicate that. I lobve her,
Siebold: This is going to be vetoed as slapping a tiny burn chance on all Water moves is kinda cringe still. Flip Turn with a chance to invalidate any Physical attacker that switches in is lame (Noglastica brought up Wogerpon/Walking Wake Flip Turning/just normally attacking and now any physical checks can't effectively do anything for the rest of the game). Please rework the sub.![]()
Name: Siebold
Effect: Your team's Water-type attacks deal 1.1x damage and gain +10% chance to burn.
Description: Siebold is a Water-type user and a master chef, so this effect is just him trying to cook the opponent's Pokemon. This means Scald has an even higher chance to burn, and moves like Flip Turn and Water Ivy Cudgel now have the added effect chance too. This could make teams that like using these move types more potent, like rain teams.
Rika: This is still too strong and therefore still vetoed.![]()
Name: Rika
Effect: Upon successfully damaging a grounded target(s), a Magnitude of random power will affect the entire battlefield at the end of the turn, similar to Future Sight.
Description: Upon her Tera-Ground Clodsire using Earthquake the first time, she does warn us to "Watch your step, 'cause things are about to get shaky!" Magnitude is Earthquake's temperamental cousin, and its unpredictability serves as a warning for us to keep us on our guard. Gonna take in some suggestions from the Council...

Name: Caitlin
Effect: Sets up Reflect and Light Screen the first turn you enter battle. If an ally is asleep, restores 1/16 of the holder's maximum HP (rounded down, but not less than 1) at the end of each turn.
Description: In Masters, Caitlyn has a Mega Sableye sync pair whose Ability/Passive Skill sets this up. Competitively speaking, this helps bolster your defensive backbone in the early game. Caitlyn is also known for being sleepy. Also comes with Leftover-ish recovery.
Hala: This is vetoed as Mach Punch/Vacuum Wave are way too strong at 100 bp. Make it not affect increased priority moves and it should be fine as it incentivizes Drain Punch/Body Press in a unique way.
Name: Hala
Effect: All Out-Melemele: Whenever a friendly Pokémon is sent out, it's the power of it's next Fighting-type move becomes 100.
Description: This is the power of the All-Out Pummeling that his Crabrawler uses in the Melemele grand trial!
Name: Ritchie
Effect: Friends Til' The End: If an enemy Pokémon loses more than 80% of their HP in a single attack, each friendly Pokémon creates a Substitute. However, it still must have enough HP to make a Subsitute in the first place.
Description: Ritche is a member of the Elite Four in Pokémon Puzzle League, so this ability is designed around the game's ability to send garbage blocks at your opponents (Or in this case, Substitutes!)
![]()
Name: Koga
Effect: Secrets of the Ninja: If an enemy Pokémon would be Poisoned, it instead becomes Badly Poisoned.
Description: This ability makes all cases of Poison act like Toxic, the TM he gave out in Generation 1.
Acerola: This is going to be vetoed for the horror that is Tera Ghost Ting-Lu/Gliscor/insert bulky mon. Tera Ghost is already one of the best Tera types in the format so making it give free chip when you tera your Ting-Lu into a type you already were going to is kinda lame. Make it affect only non-Tera and it should be pretty interesting.![]()
Name: Acerola
Effect: Anytime one of your opponent's opposing Pokemon hits one of your Ghost-type Pokemon, the attacking Pokemon loses HP equal to 1/8th of the damage dealt.
Description: I am very TCG Pocket-pilled right now and this damage moving effect is very loosely similar to what Acerola does in that game. Gholdengo, Pecharunt, and Tera Ghost Ting-Lu all make fine use of this, getting some nice extra chip damage across the entire game thanks to their bulk.
![]()
Name: Marshal
Effect: Your Pokémon's physical attacks are only reduced to 0.75x power by burn instead of 0.5x.
Description: Mimics how Marshal (in B2W2) has two mons with Guts, making your physical mons a little harder to shut down but they don't go completely unpunished.
![]()
Name: Will
Effect: Future Sight has 1.3x power when used by your Pokemon. If you have a Pokemon with Future Sight and isn't a Psychic-type and is not Terastallized, that Pokemon gains the Psychic-type on switch-in.
Description: Will has two Xatus, which, in terms of flavor, is the poster child of the move Future Sight. Promotes more offensive move of the move since the extra power makes it easier to bully fat teams with but you are spending your Trainer Support to boost the damage of one move. The type change is mostly a fun add-on since I doubt you're gonna use Golduck or Noctowl or Whiscash.
