Trouble with... stall, BP, Too much offence, and well... Everything

So this team started out really great, but (Silly me) I got too many points, and now all I fight is stall and people who wont stop switching into things I cant do jack against. The original point of this team was a kingdra sweep. However, despite what the Stratagy Dex says, I've found that it is, indeed easy to counter. I am by no means disatisfied with it, but everytime I actually get a DD, the opponent just whips out a vaporeon. I know I've never been very nice to you OU whores but I come before you now ready to accept your judgement. But please I beg of you, don't recommend Scizor. I am OK with anything below scizor, even breloom or salamence, just not a scizor. Anyway this team isn't bad, it's just not good enough to handle things. Normally I can take out 4 to 5 members of a team, but there may be that one poke that I have lost my counters for and cant do anything. Please Smogon Universty- Pimp my team!(LOL)

OK then lets get started.

LUCARIO
lucario_by_mirokaro.png

Lucario @ Focus Sash
Ability: Inner Focus
Lonely-252 Atk/252 Spe/4 Sp.Def (0 Def IV)
-Counter
-Extreme Speed
-Close Combat
-Crunch

This Lucario is great. I couldn't ask for a better start. Well, acually I could. This thing is easily set up on by ninjask-NINJASK- one of the worst leads ever. When Ninjask sets up on me-generally its a baton pass team, and I just get raped from there. Hopefully we can change that. Anywho, There are pluses to my Lucario, which basically involve beating almost any common lead besides roserade. Although I've never actually played one I can tell that the T-spikes would give me hell. My favorite part about this lucario is Pwning the Swamperts, Metagrosses, and Heatrans that think I'm going to SD and Killing them with counter (or in heatran's case Close Combat).

KINGDRA
kingdra.png

Kingdra @ Life Orb
Ability: Swift Swim
Adamant-252 Atk/252 Spe/4 HP
-Dragon Dance
-Substitute
-Waterfall
-Outrage

When I first made this team, Kingdra seemed promising. Almost no weaknesses, nearly unresisted coverage, the privalige of substitut which so little sweepers have room to carry. It seemed like a dream come true. Well, no actually. I am constantly being let down by its power and I'm not sure if I can take it anymore. I added life orb and that helped alot but now Vappy is a counter to my entire team. Since vappy is almost never seen without Tyranitar (In my experience), it just stalls me out. I am not interested in being stalled out evertime I find a match!!! I tryed Gyara but Kingdra was way better IMO.

HERACROSS
heracross.gif

Heracross @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Guts
Jolly-60 HP/252 Atk/196 Spe
-Megahorn
-Close Combat
-Stone Edge
-Night Slash

Here we have the revenge killer of my team (unless Mamoswine's Ice Shard would work better). Anywho, Heracross works as well as anthing BUT he can take on Rotom. Anything that can take on rotom is down right nifty in my book. A quick note on the EVs, I modified them to give heracross a bit more bulk and still be able to always outrun Max Speed ScarfTran and OHKO with Close Combat. I find that this EV spread is much more efficient than the standard 252/252 spread. Although I do lose the power of adamant I still have those sexy 120 STABs. Stone Edge is wonderful for disposing of Mence and as I mentioned previously, Night Slash is for Ghosts (especially Rotom).

MAMOSWINE
mamoswine.png

Mamoswine @ Life Orb
Ability: Snow Cloak
Jolly-252 Spe/252 Atk/4 HP
-Ice Shard
-Earthquake
-Substitute
-Stealth Rock

Meet my very own custom Mamoswine spread. I believe some explaining is in order. Obviously Mamoswine will be causing a lot of switching. I use this opurtunity to set up, also if I don't feel like setting up, I can fool the opponent into thinking I'm banded (example: person switched into salamence. Salamence intimidates Mamoswine. Mamoswine used Earthquake....Mamoswine uses Ice shard. Salamence lost 100% of its health). Yes, mamo OHKOs with Ice Shard even with intimdate. fancy No?
Substitute creats a whole new world of possiblities and means I can kill Jirachi without it Iron Heading me to death. I am very happy with Mamoswine (just so you know).

CELEBI
Celebi.jpg

Celebi @ leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
Bold-252 HP/216 Def/40 Spe
-Leech Seed
-Recover
-Grass Knot
-Hidden Power Ice

Here is my wall, Celebi. I originally had a magnezone here, but I was constantly running into problems with Hippowdon so I put one of his biggest counters on my team. I used to have HP fire but I decided I needed more ice attacks on my team because I got raped by sandstorm stall. Well, there isn't alot to say about celebi. Everything is kind of self-explanitory. The only thing really there is to tell you is that I'm thinking of switching leech seed for reflect to add some bulk to my team. Also, instead of using 36 speed EVs to outrun Jolly Tyranitar, I now also have enough to outspeed all things that outspeed Tyranitar by one point. So yaeh...

KANGASKHAN
kangaskhan.png

Kangaskhan @ Leftovers
Ability: Scrappy
Adamant-64 HP/252 Spe/192 Atk
-Return
-Fire Punch
-Sucker Punch
-Substitute

This is where the OU whores might get mad at me. Well, don't. First of all kangaskhan is balanced to perfection, its like the Mario of Pokemon. Kangaskhan can hit reletively hard, is pretty fast, and is very hard to take down in one hit, without super effective attacks. Kangaskhan is the best OU lure I've ever used. It's perfect for taking out that last half of latias's health, or that Salamence that has 2 dragon dances, or that Gengar. Its a great check for Rotom, who is 3HKOed (that may not sound good but when it tries to WoW me, I can sub up and Kill with ease, and I've never had a problem with Rotom since. As for the EVs, I really have no purpose in the 64 HP EVs. It helps me to survive scizors attacks though, but I'm not sure what the minimum amount of EVs is to survive a U-turn or something like that.

So yah thats my team. Please make it better...

It seems to me that I played this team earlier today, and the two things that struck me were how useless your Kangaskhan was, and how early you brought out your Kingdra. Also, your Lucario lead didn't really work well against me. I would suggest replacing Lucario with a Roserade lead to spread some sleep/spikes to hurt Vappy with. I would then replace Kangaskhan with a set-up sweeper like SD Lucario or SD...Scizor.

Anyway, good luck with the team!

You could try replacing Kingdra with Forretress to Rapid Spin the TSpikes or Spikes or SR away. It could also set up entry hazards, which you need. It would fall fast to Mence, but if you Run Explosion, you can minimize your losses.

Also, Lucario's ExtremeSpeed Devastates both leads you mentioned (Ninjask and Roserade), Ninjask taking at least 51.8% unless it's V2 (min 36%) and more than half to Roserade. Most Smeargle also are 2HKOed, or would be if it weren't for spore. So, Lucario does well enough. It is nigh on impossible for a perfect lead, unless you have base stats 255 around the board and Max+ all stats, etc. So, leave well enough alone for Lucario.

Leech Seed on Celebi would be far more useful if you had Substitute on Celebi as well, or had SR or Spikes. I suggest you add a Stealth Rock user.

Well I tried Uncle Sams advice (didn't win once) so if you had any other suggestions I'll take those. Aura Gardian I'm trying yours now

Hey there,

I am a huge Kingdra fan and think that I can help make this team better at letting it sweep! Here are the suggestions I have for your team:

First is Kingdra itself. You say you have significant trouble with Stall teams. Well, there is a Kingdra set that is much better at taking down Stall teams. It is the 3 attack DD Life Orb set. This set is much more dangerous than other DD sets because of Life Orb and the 3rd attack move. Hydro Pump is fantastic on an otherwise Physical Kingdra, being able to smack around Physical Dragon Dance counters such as Skarmory. LO Boosted Outrages will lay into even very defensive Pokemon such as RestTalk Gyarados. With these big time Physical Walls down, it will be easier for Mamoswine and your other Physcial attacking Pokemon to sweep. Here is the set I had in mind:

Kingdra @ Life Orb
Adamant / Swift Swim
252 Attack / 24 Sp. Attack / 232 Speed
-Dragon Dance
-Waterfall
-Outrage
-Hydro Pump

Even without Substitute, you will find setting up easy I think. Your team is very adept at drawing Water and Fire type attacks for Kingdra to get in on and set up. Kingdra can serve as both an early game wall breaker and a late game sweeper with this set. As an early game wallbreaker, Kingdra can open holes through which the rest of your team can follow. And, of course, in the late game, if Kingdra's checks are down, Kingdra can blaze straight throw a team, leading you to victory.

Heracross- I would like to change this to a Jirachi for a few reasons. The first is because Jirachi is a Steel type. I think one of the reasons you are having problems high on the ladder is because you only have one Steel type. Dragon type attack define and shape the metagame at the moment, so doubling or even tripling up on resistances to these powerful attacks is crucial. The second is because Jirachi has more utility than Heracross. In addition to better survivability, Jirachi gives you Trick and U Turn support. Trick helps you out if something has started to set up on you, like Curselax or CM Jirachi for example. Trick also helps cripple walls to help with your Stall problem. U Turn allows you to keep the momentum on your side throughout the match. The reason I think this is more useful overall than a CB Scizor (who is quite similar) is because you desperately need Lucario coverage. With just a little prior damage on Celebi, an Adamant SD Lucario can easily kill off your team. Jirachi can come to the rescue; however, and hit it in the face with a super effective Fire Punch. Iron Head completes the set by being a nice STAB attack that abuses Serene Grace to get a 60% flinch rate and piss people off on the ladder which is always nice :P Here is the set:

Jirachi @ Choice Scarf
Jolly / Serene Grace
4 HP / 252 Attack / 252 Speed
-Iron Head
-Fire Punch
-U Turn
-Trick

Mamoswine - I have not ever used Substitute on Mamoswine, so I cannot say definitely if you should replace it, but I would at least test Stone Edge over Substitute because it allows you to hit Defensive Gyarados and slow Zapdos variants for good damage, opening up holes for Jirachi or Kingdra. If you find Sustitute more useful, by all means keep it.

Celebi - With Jirachi and Mamoswine to deal with Dragons, I would say use HP Fire over HP Ice. This makes Celebi not be a free kill for Scizor, which is pretty imperative in the current metagame. This attacking combination is only walled by Dragon and Fire types, who Kingdra, Jirachi, and Mamoswine are all happy to deal with.

I know you are fond of your Kangaskhan, but I think you should replace it with one of Kingdra's best partners, Flygon. Flygon adds so much to your team that Kanga cannot. The first is another Dragon type. Double Dragon is a deadly combination in OU, and with Kingdra able to crack open holes with its hugely powerful set, as well as Mamoswine, there is no reason Steel types should be alive late game. This is where Flygon comes in. Flygon can Outrage late game to deal with weakened teams that lack Steel types, effectively sealing the game for you. Flygon is also a tremendous revenge killer for things Mamoswine and Jirachi cannot cover, such as Agility Empoleon and DD Bounce Gyarados, who threaten to rip your team apart without Flygon. Flygon also pairs extremely well with the rest of the team, with many of the same counters. It also works very well with Jirachi, between them covering just about every single offensive threat. Here is the set:

Flygon @ Choice Scarf
Jolly / Levitate
4 HP / 252 Attack / 252 Speed
-Outrage
-U Turn
-Earthquake
-Stone Edge

Stone Edge is nice because it allows you to hit both Zapdos and Gyarados, but ThunderPunch should be used if you find you are having extreme problems with Gyarados.

Thats all I have, good luck with your team!

Lucario @ Focus Sash
Ability: Inner Focus
Lonely-252 Atk/252 Spe/4 Sp.Def (0 Def IV)
-Counter
-Extreme Speed
-Close Combat
-Crunch

Lucario isn't that great a lead. I suggest that you use an Roserade. It can set up spikes or toxic spikes fairly easily.
Roserade @ Focus Sash
Timid Nature
252 SPA / 252 SPE / 6 HP
-Spikes / Toxic Spikes
-Leaf Storm
-HP Fire
-Sleep Powder

Heracross @ Choice Scarf

Ability: Guts
Jolly-60 HP/252 Atk/196 Spe
-Megahorn
-Close Combat
-Stone Edge
-Night Slash

Heracross may be useful, but I suggest that you use a ScarfLatias. It makes a better revenge killer.
Latias @ Choice Scarf
Timid Nature
252 SPE, 252 SPA, 6 HP
-Draco Meteor
-Surf
-Thunderbolt
-Trick
This gives you a more reliable way to deal with set-up Pokemon who manage to get a statup move in.

Mamoswine @ Life Orb
Ability: Snow Cloak
Jolly-252 Spe/252 Atk/4 HP
-Ice Shard
-Earthquake
-Substitute
-Stealth Rock

I suggest using an Expert Belt in case you want to further your illusion of having a Choice Band. Also, Adamant Mamoswine can OHKO Shuca Berry Heatran with EQ, but I do not believe Jolly can.

Celebi @ leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
Bold-252 HP/216 Def/40 Spe
-Leech Seed
-Recover
-Grass Knot
-Hidden Power Ice

I believe that you should have HP Fire. Scizor is a very common switch-in to Celebi and a 80 SPA EV Investment and HP Fire is sufficient to knock Scizor off before it hits with U-Turn.

Kangaskhan @ Leftovers
Ability: Scrappy
Adamant-64 HP/252 Spe/192 Atk
-Return
-Fire Punch
-Sucker Punch
-Substitute

Your team has a massive problem with Infernape. It can singlehandedly destroy the majority of this team. Have Latias as the revenge killer and here I suggest that you use a CroCune here. This also alleviates your Infernape problem and provides another way to resist Infernape.
Suicune @ Leftovers
252 HP, 252 DEF, 6 SPA
Bold Nature
-Surf
-Calm Mind
-Rest
-Sleep Talk

I have tried out everything and I was most successful with Friar's suggestions on account that I didn't lose hardly at all. Most of the time I didn't even need to bring out kingdra, normally my offensive core would just take care of everthing for me (but I'm still having trouble with stall)
