True Synergy

So back when I was stationed in 'Nam, fighting the Tyrannosaurus Rexes that roamed that area, I had the greatest idea ever. "What if, I invented this video game that included catching a whole bunch of different monsters and having them battle each other!" I said to myself. Suddenly an Asian spy jumped from the bushes and ran away screaming "Ha! I stole your idea and now I'm going to be rich!" I tried to shoot his face, but he used his Asian witch magic to disappear from my sight. I swore from that day that after pokemon was invented, I'd make the greatest team ever and find that Asian Mamajama and pwn his face off. This is that team.

With Jirachi as my lead I'll slaughter that stupid Asian. Not only can Jirachi Stealth Rock, an amazing trait for a lead, he can also deal great damage, whether it be through super effective hits or through the awesome power of Flinch Hax. Iron Head is probably the best Steel move ever (eat that Scizor, Bullet Punch is for noobs) and can dominate any pokemon with a little luck. Fire Punch, with the doubled burn rate, not only dominates Scizor, but can also cripple any physical sweeper.Body Slam is for, as LR pointed out, this team could do with some good Paralysis support. Shuca Berry is for, as LR pointed out once again, it gives me the ability to feign a Scarf as well as have a good chance against many leads, such as Metagross and Swampert leads.

I'll sweep the Asian's feet from under him with 'Mence. I'm sure you all know the deal with this guy, but you need to just sit down be quite and learn! Your basic Salamence is made of 2 parts pwn and 1 part pwnt by ice. My Salamence has found a way to maximize the time that the 2 parts pwn are present. I decided to go with the 2 attack, DD and Roost set because, quite frankly, Skarmory is a little bitch. I don't care if I get walled by Skarmory, all it's going to do to me is... nothing. I've still got Dragon Outrage (maybe should be Dragon Claw?) and Earthquake for atleast Nuetral on everything else.

I bet that Asian don't know nothing about a freekin Bee thingy made of metal, they don't have anything but Pandas in Asia. SDScizor is probably one of the most devastating thing to ever be born... ever. Bullet Punch is 90 BP and straight up dominates everything that doesn't resist it. Night Slash is to help me deal with ghosts, although most of the time they kill me before I get the chance to use it (damn you Rotom-H). Brick Break is to retain the Fighting attack that I had on Lucario, though it won't be half as powerful, it's the only one on my team. Scizor is a well needed answer to killing Mamoswine, who ravages my team otherwise.

Stupid Asian guy probably walks around throwing Mesprits and Uxie at people, but he got nothing on my Azelf. I was debating whether to put Azelf at the lead or keep Jirachi, and I decided to keep Jirachi in the end, as I needed the Grass attack and another Fire attack desperately, and Azelf can explode. The aforementioned Grass attack is the only one on my team, therefore, Azelf is the sole holder of Swampert control. Flamethrower is for more scizor pwnage, and Explosion just incase I get in too deep. Psychic is just for a reliable STAB.

The Asian guy couldn't possibly expect this because I don't even know what it is, and I use it everyday. Porygon 2 is the sole defensive pokemon the team. I placed him on the team for the key counters he brings to the table, and I believe he should be on everyone's team. He's basically 97% rape and 3% pwn. His surpising bulk comes from... someplace... but I love it. He can take most hits, from either end of the spectrum, and shrug them like they were mosquitos. Thunderbolt and Ice Beam are necessities, to get the OHKOs on Gyarados and Salamence after I trace their Intimidate. Ice Beam has also gotten a couple of trapped Dugtrios, which is good. Hidden Power Ground is for any Heatran I might need to absorb the fire attack from and, more importantly, any Magnezone that I trap with Trace.

Recover

The Asian kid probably won't even get to see this, he'll be back the pokemon center before he gets the chance. No one was happier than me when Latias became OU. I love Latias, we are getting married and making babies together. I think the set fits my team the best, as it's quick KO mentality fits the offensive nature of my team. Recover has saved me quite a few times, so I'm keeping it. And the Life Orb recoil can be pain without Recover. Draco Meteor takes large chunks from anything pretty much, and if you're a dragon, forget about life. Surf provides Draco Meteor a near perfect coverage pair, except for Empoleon, but he's laughable at best. Psycho Shift is another LR Suggestion that helps my team out as a whole, giving me a reliable status absorber.

Team Making Process:
Every team needs a place to start, and this one started with Latias. I always like to pair my sweepers as I make the team, so I added in Gyarados, which was in the end, switched in for Salamence. I'm still not sure if that was the right decision, but oh well. Since i had my sweepers, and had virtually no good counters, I threw Porygon 2 in, and might I add, he should be a staple for every team, he's amazing. That gave me two special attackers, so I needed another Physical attacker, and priority. I chose Lucario, as he is one of my favorite priority users, and packs a decent punch. Looking through my attacks, I then realized that I had a lack of fire and grass attacks, so I went to Marriland and searched Grass Knot and Flamethrower on the same pokemon, and Azelf came up, so I threw him on there. Now I just needed a lead. I knew I wanted a physical attacker, with decent bulk, that can use Stealth Rock. As I looked at the weakness Charts, I realized that Steel/Psychic pokemon would fit in perfectly. So I had Metagross, Jirachi and Bronzong to choose from. I weighed all the positives of each, and ruled Bronzong out first, because I'm the worst defensive player ever. I looked at Jirachi and Metagross, and decided that Jirachi's all around bulk and greater speed was a bigger asset than Metagross's Physical defense, so I threw him on there.

BREAKING NEWS!
Been looking at exchanging:
Azelf for Scarf Togekiss
Scizor for Mamoswine
Salamence for Gyarados

Counters List
This team, being offensive, doesn't have specific "counters" for many pokemon. It's more reactions, and every major threat has an attack that I can read most of the time and something on my team can take it. This is true with the exception of Porygon-2. He provides me with counters to many of the most prominant and dangerous pokemon in the metagame. So I'm not going to make out a threat list, as it would just take a long time and say "this counters that if I read this move."

ahahaha this is brilliant I don't know what to say ahahahahaha

You appear to have made a well crafted team. Everything fits together well, but the lack of a nice strong revenge killer could hurt.

Azelf is amazing as a Scarf mixed sweeper. Zen Headbutt/Ice Punch/Fire Blast/Explosion is devastating. I believe you can beat Dragon Dancers and other Scarfers because you're so damn good. All those Special moves without Nasty Plot is shit, especially considering the fast paced nature of this team.

This is a cool team, and props on making me laugh while reading it haha. The basic Pokemon structure is great, but I have a couple of suggestions for your sets, etc.

Overall, as a team, I feel you could use paralysis support quite a bit. I've used a very similar lead Jirachi to the one you have, and using Iron Head with it against a paralysed foe is just funny. I would drop U-turn on Jirachi - really, the main reason it is used is to allow Scarf Jirachi to escape from Magnezone, and since you are already running Fire Punch, this isn't nearly as relevant - and replace it with Body Slam. Body Slam has a great 60% chance to paralyse, and can do so to Ground types as well since it's not an Electric attack. Having Jirachi provide both its own and the team's paralysis support is a great option - as you're not scarfed, being able to Body Slam paralyse opposing Azelf leads and then finish them off with Iron Head is really great. Also, paralysing Scarfed Heatran and Magnezone that try to switch in on Jirachi is really great as well. I would also forgo Leftovers on Jirachi for a Shuca Berry. Many leads carry Earthquake, and having the insurance of a Shuca Berry to back up your lead is very helpful. It also means Leftovers recovery won't give away your item, and you can quite easily feign a scarf if you want to. Runnning Jolly Max Speed only helps this. Shuca also means that Jirachi can serve as a good switchin to DD Salamence and Gyarados, both of whom can be very threatening to this team if p2 goes down unexpectedly. Shuca allows you to survive their Earthquakes, and since their other attacks won't KO you anyway, it gives you a great free turn to try your luck in paralysing them with Body Slam (odds are with you). Leftovers is a cool item to recover with while you're flinching the opponent, but Shuca makes Jirachi much more of a team player, and helps it survive against the common leads such as Swampert and Metagross a lot easier.

Your Salamence set is cool, I would keep it as it is. Lum will not only help you set up, but it will cure Outrage's confusion if you ever manage to get 2 or 3 off, meaning you can continue to sweep without the confusion risk. Roost works really well here on this team, as you do need a reliable Fighting switchin what with both Lucario and p2 on your team. I'd really keep mence as it is right now. On Porygon2, consider replacing HP Ground with Thunder Wave. HP Ground's sole use is really to hit opposing Heatran and possibly Lucario. Neither will appreciate being paralysed, and the free turns and slow opponents that paralysis gives you will be great for Jirachi's Iron Heads, and for both Salamence and Lucario while setting up. Without Thunder Wave, p2 really isn't a threat to the things it doesn't hit super effectively with boltbeam. HP Ground seems a bit overspecific on a team running both Salamence and in particular Latias, and you really don't need to have your p2 able to take it out. Paralysing it basically means it is crippled, and can no longer revenge kill Luacrio. Thunder Wave is definitely the way to go. Keep Flamethrower on Azelf, don't replace for Fire Blast - Fire Blast doesn't get any OHKOs or 2HKOs that Flamethrower won't and you'll really appreciate the accuracy that Flamethrower brings you.

On Latias, possibly consider running Refresh or Psycho Shift over Thunderbolt. Having that other special attack isn't really too necessary, and using a status removing move will allow you to use Latias very effectively as a status absorber for your team. Psycho Shift in particular works great on an offensive team, and will give you free turns to Recover up or switch in another one of your threatening sweepers.

So overall what I would say is take advantage of status more, and your team will perform even better than it currently does. Good luck with it.

I laughed a lot reading this RMT. Truly epic, nice job. Legacy Raider pretty much covered everything. I can't find any very harsh weaks, although the ever-so-rare Scarfape causes problems. Fortunately, few people run it.

One little recommendation: If you want to cause double status with P2, Discharge paralyzes 30% of the time and keeps Boltbeam. You can then wear down Bulky waters with Toxic and Discharge.

@Thorns: I also realized the I had no scarf items on the team, and, while that seems like it could be a small problem, it does remove the possibility of revenge killing. I can't give up Grass knot though. It's my only grass attack and I hate Swampert, alot. got any other fixes that would allow me to keep GK?

@LR: I was looking at Body Slam on Jirachi, but I decided to go with U-Turn because it 2HKOs Latias with SR support, but I suppose that does seem a little specific to put an attack for, I think I'll make the switch. Porygon-2 also has HP Ground to deal with Magnezones that it traps, should I still switch it out? it's a 100% guaranteed KO. I might consider Refresh on Latias, as Empoleon isn't seen to often and when it is, I kinda pwn it's face off with a fair amount of ease. I was also concidering Wish over Recover, to make him a little bit more of a team player, but I don't think I'm going to.

@Sc4rfCh0mp: I might switch Discharge into P2, but I won't double Status, does Discharge miss any OHKO or 2HKOs that Thunderbolt assures?

The main reason to use an Electric attack, an OHKO on Gyarados, is kept when using Discharge, iirc. Discharge would be better than Thunderbolt for the aforementioned Paralysis support. Other than that, great team.

There are other reasons to use Electric attacks, I use Tbolt alot on him. Anything that resists Ice for example, unless ground is SE

I believe you should keep Lucario because of his ability to somewhat counter Rotom formes (Crunch + Swords Dance), especially Rotom-Heat.

why are you running recover twice on latias

latias' draco meteor does just a little less to swampert but you still 2HKO and you can always hit the explode button.

Oops, one is supposed to be refresh. I don't really want to explode on a Swampert when I could just keep a grass attack, and Grass knot is a OHKO, so Draco Meteor must do significantly less than grass knot.

Sorry if I'm coming off harsh, not trying to be, I appreciate your suggestions but I don't see how I could deal with Swampy and the likes without a reliable grass attack.

There isn't much wrong besides the fact that the Salamence is Jolly when it has Dragon Dance and Roost.
The point of roost is to let it survive and get more DDs so you reall don't need the extra speed.

@thechocolatebunny: sweet ass lol, thanks, I'll change that immediately

@paranoid212: I often just attack before DDing at all, so I think I'm going to keep it.

I use DD whenever I can, but often times something will get the kill on me with say, 50% HP left. Rather than letting him switch or heal, I just attack first, rather than DDIng

Not much to rate here, Legacy Raider basically covered most of what I wanted to say.

The only thing I'd consider changing is Salamence to Mixmence. The reason I suggest this is because it has excellent synergy with Lucario, whom I assume is the main way of clearing stall teams for you currently. With Salamence + Lucario, I see you having a lot of success versus heavy-stall teams; transitioning to Mixmence will only make this success simpler. Running Draco Meteor / Fire Blast / Outrage / Roost will basically accomplish the same results as of now, but with more Skarmory coverage (and stall coverage in general). With Porygon-2 backing up your offensive team's sweepers, you shouldn't have any issue firing off Draco Meteors. The standard Salamence spread of 16 Att / 240 Sp.Att / 252 Speed with a + Speed - Sp.Def nature should suffice should you decide to make the change.

Everything else looks good, basically comes down to making the correct switches, as with every offensive team. Good luck.

So, would this kind of phase out the usefulness of Latias? as he is my special brute, which backs Mence, atm.
Also, does that mean you would probably keep Lucario? and not switch him out for Scizor?

Well, I've ran both Latias and Salamence as special sweepers on the suspect ladder during the Latias test, and I must say it was quite remarkable. One weakened the counters for the other to sweep.

I like Lucario a lot more than Scizor for its sheer offensive power. However, if you end up losing a lot to Salamence, the I'd switch to Scizor to revenge-kill with Bullet Punch. Lucario's Extremespeed does less then Scizor's Bullet Punch (I believe 50% versus 65%-70%), so it's your call.

One thing I forgot to mention actually was the issue you had with Rotom. Honestly, it isn't as much of a problem as you think. Azelf, Salamence, and Latias all hit it very hard, and most Rotom don't invest heavily in special defense, making Draco Meteors and Psychics very effective.

Also, I noticed this last game. Mamoswine. Mamoswine dominates my team's face. Lucario is all I really have, and it critted an Ice Shard on me for OHKO and proceeded 2HKO P2 and OHKO the Salamence and Latias I had stuck back. I believe this may be reason for scizor?

Yes, Mamoswine is quite a big threat to your team if Jirachi goes down. I would definitely use Scizor over Lucario simply to handle the huge mammoth. Your Jirachi should handle it well but if Jirachi dies somehow, you're going to need a second answer. I would not use Night Slash on your Scizor though. Rotom-H could outspeed you and OHKO with Overheat anyways and Night Slash is so weak! I would try fitting X-Scissor > Night Slash even if you're worried about Rotoms. Like Twist of Fate said, your Pokemon hit Rotom hard enough on the special side for them not to be too big of a problem.
