NOC Two Mafias Mafia - Won by The Pack

For this day I would just solve it as realiti more likely being pulsar's partner. I only had Celever and realiti read as scum but I was also taking some looks at psy due to the whole "secret agent" thing vs. villager claim he was doing.

I've played a lot of mafia but I think this may be my very first NOC game by the way. (Don't shoot me if I misremembered and I have one NOC game or something in my history please!) 99% of my games are with OC. Hence my strategies may be different from what others are accustomed to and perhaps I don't even know the best way to go about solving things but that's what I got.
 
realiti’s only defense for his non claim basically boils down to “ipl is shady” so I would start there for sure. Anyways I think it’s reasonable to say that Jalmont should have far more control over this lynch than me/Celever/realiti and also you need to do your own reads especially since there’s two scum trying to mislead. Good luck town! Will be on much less for tomorrow due to real life

It’s okay so far, I think town doesn’t deserve to win lol based on town play so far. Pulsar made a big mistake claiming cop with two scum teams though which is only reason town is in game still. I play mafia to have fun (don’t we all?) and part of that fun is to play wildly each game. Could do with less fluff posts though since that makes for harder to read whole thread and also real life can get in the way more
 
jalmont for the first time ill agree with you and say i definitely have been less engaged with this game. im not sure why exactly like realiti can vouch for me and say that thats not how i would act as scum but its obviously not what im normally like as town either. maybe this game starting in the middle of another one threw me off my balance and i just havent managed to recover or im just doing a lot more irl stuff that even though ive been keeping up with thread and reading everything (except i havent actually read the eods i missed) i just dont have enough room in my brain to store all this information and keep an opinion on everything thats going on. when you look at my reads ive been harping on you, realiti, and celever and thats basically where im at now. idk if ive even really tred anyone this game. i guess like pulsar/hydro/fairy/neon?
 
basically idk whats going on with me i know im not normally like this and youre probably justified but im going to argue with you anyway because i refuse to admit to any faults i may possess. and also youre grossly underexaggerating how much youve focused on me like it absolutely is a tunnel dont try to paint it as otherwise
 
honestly maybe its a bit of mafia burnout. the last four games i played in ive gone super hard and i dunno im enjoying myself so i dont wanna take a break but i definitely cant connect to this game in the same way ive managed to do in those
 
Hey I haven’t played mafia for 5+ years lol. Maybe I’m rusty, maybe it’s because this game’s players doesn’t know me/my playstyle, can’t say I’m exactly doing well this game haha. But hey getting mislynched as town will be a first experience and that could be amusing to watch town burn too

The uncharitable answer to your motivations is probably just "oh he hasn't played a game in 5 years, probably never played NOC to begin with and that's why he's slipping up everywhere."

I don't think you and pulsar play this way as teammates. Why would you bother with all of this if you were bgb's teammate? I'll have to sleep on it.

yeah I mean that's all I've been trying to say. I'm not saying that "oh it's not obv town psy he must be mafia," like I see it as a potential legitimate strategy to skate in the middle. I don't think I'm tunneling. But it's not very useful to argue about what tunneling is so I'll move on.

JALMONT hasn’t been tunnelling Psy lol. This is one of the first games in a while where Psy has late game scumreads on him and I can’t tell if this overreaction is Psy being Psy or Psy being scum and thinking he had the game in the bag by shifting narrative to “all vts are just town” and then got frustrated when JALMONT threw a more intense spanner in the work than I did by lightly sussing him (though he overreacted to that too).

My real expectation is one scum in IPL/realiti which is probably IPL, and one scum in Psy/fairy (p sure it’s not Neon). My vote is on IPL bc I think it has highest chance of hitting scum but I’m open to either Psy or fairy, Psy might be edging out fairy in scum eq at this stage but that 50/50 is much more even
 
I don’t really see a world where a scum faction doesn’t have a goon in this setup, FTR. This setup is really weird anyway but I think it’s somewhat poor game design to not give scum an incentive to hide among the vts by making them a goon (no hate to AG if this happened but yeah), sure a power role could just aim to do that anyway and claim vt but D1 massclaim is a powerful strategy and game designers know to plan round that, and scum have to always plan round a watcher or tracker in the setup.

This is part of why IPL hard sending the me/realiti team is curious, because if IPL is actually a town tracker then the chance of there being 0 mafia goons reduces massively. Ironically I think realiti could only be scum if IPL is too rn

As I claimed it’s a one-shot and only procs on kill power, not on every ability. Slightly different to “standard” PGO but it’s actually the more common version that I’ve seen. The only proccing on kill power, anyway, I haven’t seen one-shot PGO before

Frankly I think what would be optimal is both scum factions having a goon and a PR but at this stage a fairy and Psy both being scum would be surprising. It’s also my solve if IPL is town though I guess

Actually this is stupid if IPL is town then there’s definitely a goon lol didn’t do the maths I need caffeine.

Which now confuses me even more in trying to parse this because I think realiti only being scum if IPL is too is maintained because in a IPL town realiti scum world one team gets a goon and one gets a PR, and I definitely wouldn’t say cop is stronger than roleblocker + something and similarly roleblocker isn’t stronger than cop + something. Maybe cop does pass the bar if realiti’s role is somewhat weak since it’s definitely a better role than roleblocker. Would mean realiti is buddies with BGB and there isn’t that much case for that but BGB did tr him while realiti didn’t return the favour which I could believe if they’re a team.

I’m otherwise not that convinced in the solve being IPL/realiti scum or Psy/fairy scum but that’s the most obvious conclusion of the setup speculation. Maybe this is why setup speculation sucks lmao

Wait wait OK I might be cleared LOL. Check BGB’s flip, “stop their action from functioning”. This is wording that specifically includes passive abils (standard phrasing would be “prevents your target from using their action” or something since roleblocker usually only effects actives). I went back to check the flip cos I was like “eh maybe BGB’s role could be the standalone if it also blocks me” which I’m not sure I even agree with now because without an ability cop (maybe that’s realiti who knows!) IDK why they would ever roleblock + kill me in the same night but I’m glad I checked lmao
 
I guess they could roleblock + kill organically if they were convinced I was scum and thought I was gonna kill carry and if kills are definitely simultaneous but this is some kind of slippery slope logic lol

I suppose it would be strong enough to have PR + goon while opposite team has 2 PRs if the goon’s team’s kill is higher prio than the other faction so they win out in a crossfire, since that’s kind of a strong factional ability in its own right.

I think I need more multifac experience to speculate effectively there are actually a lot of moving parts here LMAO I’m conspiracy theorising atm
 
Oh wait BGB’s roleblock doesn’t even affect the fac kill scratch the above then about double targeting if they thought I’d kill carry then.

IDK why BGB’s roleblock would be designed to specifically include me then, unless realiti’s an ability cop and this literally might now be on the solve. Maybe realiti tuned into this and that’s why he’s refusing to claim though I’m not sure he’d expect anyone to go back and check BGB’s wording lol
