- General tournament rules and regulations can be found here.
- Species Clause: A player cannot have two of the same Pokemon on their team.
- Sleep Clause: A player cannot put two or more different opposing Pokemon to sleep using attacks that induce sleep to opposing Pokemon.
- Evasion Clause: A player cannot increase their Pokemon's evasion stat with a move that specifically increases evasion. Items or indirect boosts do not break this clause.
- OHKO Clause: Players cannot use Horn Drill, Guillotine, Sheer Cold, or Fissure in any of their Pokemon's movesets.
- Timer Clause: If a player exhausts the timer, he/she loses.

- Rounds are single elimination.
- Matches are played in SM OU.
- Matches are best-of-one (save and post replays for confirmation).
- Every round, a new type will be banned (cumulative), meaning that if a particular type is banned, a Pokemon of only that type AND Pokemon with dual typings with the banned typing are banned, i.e:
- Round 1 prohibits the use of Fire-types (no Darmanitan, Houndoom, Alolan Marowak, etc);
- Round 2 prohibits the use of Electric-types AND Fire-types (no Charizard, Tapu Koko, etc.);
- Round 3 prohibits the use of Fighting-types, Electric-types, AND Fire-types (no Pheromosa, Rotom-Wash, Arcanine, etc.).
Finals Restriction: Fire-, Water-, and Grass-types are banned
Notable Affected Mons:
Things to remember:
- If an opponent brings a type that is banned, the win goes to the player that followed the rules.
-- If both players bring a type that is banned, the battle is null and both must properly complete their teams before rematching.
- Bans only apply to Pokemon; moves of the banned typing are allowed.
- Bans apply to base forms AND Mega Evolutions (so if Flying is banned, you cannot use Mega Charizard X).
- 2nd place receives 15 points toward the Smogon Championship; the winner receives 20!
- Get your match done in a reasonable amount of time!

There's still ~30 usable Pokemon without FWG core mons, you'll survive.
