Terastalization Potential
/
: STAB with Choice Band makes any switches brutal for the opponent.
: The flagship terastalization reveal type. With a Shadow Claw set it could really do some damage. Outside of that, it can dodge Fighting-type hits.
: Probably the most all round tera-type. Resists Fighting-type and is immune to Ground-type, both of which are the most used moves to OHKO Tyranitar. It would also resist Grass and Bug-type which stops U-turnn.
: Honourable mention. Fire-type is one of the best partners for Tyranitar such as Moltres, Volcarona, Iron Moth. Resists Steel, Fairy, Bug and Grass-type.

Tyrannitar's many weaknesses really undermines it great overall bulk in this metagame. Additionally it faces some competion with TIng-Lu. I have had the most success with a Assault Vest being able to counter many of the dangerous fire types such as Iron Moth and Chi-Yu. It is a pretty good switch in to the most Dragapult. I don't see it staying in OU for too long though

I also think running Assault Vest is the way to go with him, but I don't see it being lower than OU, maybe UUBL, because, as you have mentioned, can counter some key offensive mons.

I want to know what ppl think of this set for Tyranitar to utilize it's bulk, high atk and low speed.

Tyranitar (M) @ Assault Vest
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Def / 6 HP (Could go 252 HP / 252 Def / 6 Atk for extra chonk)
IV: 0 Speed
Ability: Sandstream
Relaxed Nature
Tera: Fighting
- Stone Edge
- Payback
- Body Press
- Avalanche

You should do 252 HP/252 Attack/6 Def with a Adamant Nature. Also drop Body Press for Low Kick as it is about 50% more powerful on many targets
