Rock Polish allows Tyrantrum to outspeed a huge number of Pokemon in the tier, such as Swellow and common Choice Scarf users like Gardevoir and Flygon, making it a huge threat to offensive teams. Head Smash is Tyrantrum's strongest STAB move, and its obscene power lets Tyrantrum secure important KOs such as against Gardevoir and Meloetta after Stealth Rock. Outrage is Tyrantrum's secondary STAB move, and coupled with Dragonium Z, it can be used to hit most Rock-resistant Pokemon such as Rhyperior and Bewear. However, locking into Outrage can be very dangerous if the opponent has a Fairy- or Steel-type that can KO Tyrantrum, such as Gardevoir or Mega Steelix. Earthquake lets Tyrantrum hit Steel-types such as Doublade and Registeel, which resist both of its STAB moves. Superpower is an option over Earthquake due to it hitting Pokemon like Bewear and Umbreon for more damage; however, running Superpower over Earthquake leaves Tyrantrum walled by Doublade and lowers its Attack and Defense each time it’s used, making it less reliable than Earthquake.

Set Details
========

Maximum Attack and Speed investment allows Tyrantrum to maximize its offensive presence. A Jolly nature is necessary to outspeed base 100 Speed Choice Scarf users such as Shaymin and Flygon as well as other, less common Choice Scarf users like Delphox, Modest Salazzle, and Espeon, which would otherwise revenge kill Tyrantruk after a Rock Polish. However, an Adamant nature is an option if you prefer the extra power behind Tyrantrum's attacks, notably allowing it to OHKO Shaymin after some prior chip damage. This does, however, leave it vulnerable to some Choice Scarf users like Flygon. Rock Head is the ability of choice due it negating recoil damage from Head Smash. Dragonium Z allows Tyrantrum to bypass its would-be checks, such as Rhyperior and Bewear, while Rockium Z lets it drop a nuke on neutral targets while bypassing Head Smash's shaky accuracy. However, if you are already using a Z-Move on your team, Rock Incense is a decent option to strengthen the power of Head Smash. This does make other coverage options significantly weaker, though. Groundium Z is a serviceable option that lets Tyrantrum nail Pokemon such as Mega Steelix and Rhyperior hard.

Usage Tips
========

Rock Polish Tyrantrum is able to bluff a Choice Scarf set, being able to set up on frail, offensive Pokemon such as Aerodactyl, Ninetales, and Swellow that fear its Choice Scarf set while also having a decent matchup versus bulkier teams due to the one-time nuke that Dragonium Z provides. Due to Tyrantrum's decent defensive typing, it is able to find setup opportunities from switching into common offensive Pokemon like Salazzle and Moltres and setting up as they're forced out. Tyrantrum also finds setup opportunities on Choice-locked Pokemon such as Escavalier locked into Pursuit, Bewear locked into Return, and Roserade locked into Sludge Bomb. Be wary of clicking Outrage when a Fairy-type such as Florges, Gardevoir, or Comfey is present on the opponent's field, since locking into it at the wrong time can be disastrous for Tyrantrum, since the Fairy-type would gain a free turn. Against bulkier teams, make sure to gauge when the time is right to use the Z-Move, since eliminating a Rock-resistant Pokemon early-game can be extremely beneficial for Tyrantrum and leave it far less prediction reliant. For example, if you successfully eliminate a Rhyperior early-game, Tyrantrum can more easily spam Head Smash with little consequence. Steel-types such as Bronzong and Doublade should be eliminated before attempting a Tyrantrum sweep, since they aren't hit by Earthquake or Superpower hard enough and can stop a +2 Tyrantrum in its tracks.

Team Options
========

Wallbreakers such as Mega Abomasnow, Ninetales, Choice Band Escavalier, and Moltres can pave the way for a Tyrantrum sweep due to them being able to wear down common answers for it, such as Mega Steelix, Bronzong, and Doublade. Pursuit from the likes of Escavalier and Drapion is able to weaken Pokemon like Bronzong and Cresselia for Tyrantrum. Tyrantrum appreciates support from Spikes setters like Roserade, Mega Glalie, and Golisopod, since many of its checks, such as Doublade, lack reliable recovery, making them prone to being weakened by repeated switches into spikes. Pokemon that can beat opposing Steel-types are a must, since Tyrantrum cannot sweep if they are present. Bewear and Fire Blast Nidoqueen are good examples of wallbreakers that can neuter Steel-types. Grass-types such as Shaymin and Virizion are able to depend on Tyrantrum to take Fire- and Flying-type attacks for them and set up on these attacks. In return, Grass-types can weaken prominent Ground-types like Mega Steelix and Rhyperior, which threaten Tyrantrum's ability to sweep.

  • Rock Polish Tyrantrum is able to bluff a choiced set, being able to set up on frail, offensive Pokemon such as Aerodactyl and Virizion that fear its Choice Scarf set, while also having a decent matchup versus bulkier teams due to the one time nuke that Dragonium Z provides. how does tyrantrum set up on virizion?
  • Bluffing a Choice Scarf set also lures the opponent into bringing either Choice Scarf or priority users; this can be abused by setting up and outspeeding the scarfer or switching into a teammate that can set up on the priority. what does "luring choice scarf users" mean? idt many choice scarf users like switching into a potential head smash. explain how this works or drop it completely
  • Due to Tyrantrum's decent defensive typing, it is able to find setup opportunities such as switching into common offensive Pokemon like Salazzle and Moltres and setting up as they're forced out.
  • Be wary of clicking Outrage when a Fairy-type is present on the opponent's field since locking into it at the wrong time can be disastrous for Tyrantrum, since the Fairy-type would gain a free turn. provide an example (comfey does not count -_-)
  • Against bulkier teams, make sure to gauge when the time is right to use your Z move, since eliminating a Rock resist in the early-game can be extremely beneficial for Tyrantrum and far less prediction reliant. how? "For example, baiting x does ......"
  • Steel-types such as Bronzong and Escavalier
    252 Atk Rock Incense Tyrantrum Head Smash vs. 172 HP / 0 Def Escavalier: 268-316 (82.7 - 97.5%) -- 62.5% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock try something else here.
    should be eliminated before attempting a Tyrantrum sweep, since they aren't hit by either Earthquake or Superpower super effectively, and can stop a +2 Tyrantrum on its tracks. add removing other means of revenge killing tyrantrum such as priority
  • mention setting up on choice locked users-- for example you can set up on cb escav locked into suit
  • tip about forcing out common pokemon like x -> free set up
some of this needs to be fleshed out-- work on this in the writeup phase

  • Tyrantrum appreciates support from Spike setters like Roserade and Mega Glalie, since many checks to Tyrantrum lack reliable recovery, making them prone to being weakened by repeated switch-ins with Spikes present. consider adding golis as a spikes user and talk about which pokemon spikes ruin
  • Other fast setup sweepers such as Salazzle and Swellow appreciate Tyrantrum's ability to bait in Choice Scarf users such as Gardevoir and Shaymin, since without opposing speed control, they are free to wreak havoc on the opposing team. this is still so confusing.. how does rock polish ttrum "bait" in scarfs like garde in any way? at +2 you just outpace and ohko it ._. explain this please

qc 1/3 good work

slash rocknium z over rock incense and move rock incense to set details

rocknium z is generally better if you don't want to use dragon z since it bypasses accuracy issues when you really need to hit

Mention specifically that you're bluffing Choice Scarf (because of the damage rolls, but you don't gotta mention that ofc).
Mention Ninetales as a Pokemon you both switch into and a Pokemon afraid of its Choice Scarf set.
Otherwise good albeit a bit wordy, GP will help though.

Team Options
========

Mention those Pokemon wearing down Bronzong also.
Mention Pursuit support for Doublade/Bronzong.
Mention Doublade instead of Rhyperior as a mon weakened by Spikes since you're beating Rhyp anyways w/ Dragonium.
Mention the prominent Ground-types that are checked by Grass-types.
