Uber Bibarel (UberBarel)

This idea came to me as I was pondering about Simple Bibarel. However, your opponent can haze/phaze your Ninjask in the turn you're Swords Dancing, and if that somehow doesn't happen, your opponent will obviously hit your Bibarel in the turn you are Baton-passing the stat boosts to it. Since Bibarel's defenses are somewhat low, this is a very big problem indeed. Trick Roomers will also mess up this strategy badly, but Trick Room is not used too much.

Superpower is important for Empoleon, since it's the only Pokemon that is hit for NVE from both Waterfall and Return.

Also, that damage dealt to most Pokemon isn't very good, to be honest. You must need a Fire move to deal with Skarmory, Forrtress and Bronzong better, and probably also Life Orb.

Breaking News: Baton Passing stat boosts makes ______ better! This is new and exciting information. I'm not sure why Surgo is even entertaining the idea and didn't close the topic in the first place. ~_~

Simple Bibarel is an amusing gimmick to Baton Pass stat-ups, nothing more. The idea is about as original as using that new-fangled "Roost" move on Skarmory; everyone's thought about it. And, as already pointed out, Unaware Bibarel is an equally amusing gimmick to counter this very setup (and any stat-boosting setups in general) and is no less ubiquitous. It's no secret that Bibarel has good traits, a good type and a good movepool, it just doesn't have the stats to pull it off. (Its stats are so weak, the boost from Simple only really serves to put him more in-line with your standard OU pokémon passed the same stat boosts. And it's still worse.) All of this is obvious to anybody that's looked at one of Bibarel's online pokédex pages for more than five seconds.

And how fast does Feebas swim?

No, it doesn't. Superpower reduces Attack and Defense both by one stage.
[ABILITY]
Simple
[SHORT DESC]
Doubles the effect of status boosts and drops.
[LONG DESC]
Whenever this Pokemon has a stat boost or drop, it acts as if it is twice that many levels, i.e., a single boost would act as a double boost, a double boost as a quadruple boost. The user can still only have a max of six effective boosts - no effect will be noticed from fourth or higher boosts. The same applies to stat drops. If this Pokemon is BP'd to, the boosts received are affected by this ability. If it uses Baton Pass, the boosts return to normal.

Well, actually, Superpower normally reduces both Attack and Defense by 2 stages. That means that with Simply it's a whopping 4 stage drop for both...

Also, you shouldn't make it so it HAS to have the boosts to do anything productive, because it's not exactly that hard to counter a Ninjask.

I believe Surgo was refering to the initial drop ;]

I was loathe to do so, really, but only because of simple was I considering it...and some absolutely horrible posts in the first part of the thread that missed the point.

But really, this is nothing more than a baton pass set-up that's slightly faster due to simple...but what's afraid of Bibarel anyway? Closing.
