Uber help!

I am starting to play Ubers and need assistance! I figure a fun team would be a Kyogre rain team, but I need your help.

What do u people suggest I use for a good Uber Team that focuses on Kyogre?

Perhaps:

Kyogre @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Drizzle
EVs: 4 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Water Spout
- Thunder
- Hydro Pump
- Ice Beam
---
Lugia @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 208 HP/164 Def/136 Spd
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Roost
- Reflect
- Whirlwind
- Ice Beam
---
Deoxys-f @ Life Orb
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 4 Atk/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Naive nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Superpower
- Thunder
- Shadow Ball
- Ice Beam
---
Rayquaza @ Life Orb
Ability: Air Lock
EVs: 32 HP/252 Atk/216 Spd/8 SAtk
Naughty nature (+Atk, -SDef)
- Dragon Dance
- Extremespeed
- Overheat
- Outrage
---
Forretress (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 244 HP/12 Atk/252 Def
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Stealth Rock
- Rapid Spin
- Toxic Spikes
- Explosion
---
Latias (F) @ Soul Dew
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 128 HP/176 Spd/204 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Calm Mind
- Dragon Pulse
- Grass Knot
- Recover
---

Tell me what U think I can do to make improvements to my potential Uber team.

I need movesets, and ideas on type coverage (both defensively and offensively).

I am concerned I may be a bit too defensive. What about a Taunting Mewtwo? He will stop me pretty hard as I am Special Attack based, and rely on Non-damaging moves alot.

Perhaps a Physical Attacker? I dunno, you guys help me decide!

Electivire is going to get walled so badly in ubers. Groudon is a 100% counter to it. I'd use something else.

Many people aren't willing to fight Arceus since you can't obtain it.

Check the Strategydex for some better EVs. I don't know what you're trying to do on Arceus and I'm pretty sure Palkia isn't achieving anything special either this way.

Also, not that anyone uses it, but Shedinja walls EVERYTHING on your team except Toxic Arceus.

Erm. ScarfOgre is such a common lead, most people already have counters for it. Not counters based on speed, but on defences so Timid is pretty useless. Id recommend changing your lead to Latias. If you do this, Recover is another option over wish.

495.png

Manaphy @ Leftovers
80 HP / 252 SpA / 176 Spe
Timid

Toxic
Rest
Surf
Grass Knot

Kyogre's rain heals rest, so Manaphy can heal forever unless he is OHOK'ed. With toxic, he can stall forever.

Once Arceus dies, this team is going to be completly shut down by Shedninja. You may want to consider using something like Foretress over Electivire, so this way you can set up some form of Stealth Rock/Spikes.

Adding a spinner also allows Lugia to switch in more easily.

Edit: After looking at Mekkah's reply, he said the same exact thing. However, use our advice, because Shedninja is a threat in Ubers, despite being NU/UU.

Blissey... But I see your point...

Ok updating Team... SR + Toxic Spikes Forretress is going over Arceus, Toxic Stall Manaphy is over Palkia, and Keeping the other 3.

Basically Manaphy Toxics any fliers/levitators (that hover over Toxic Spikes), while Lugia WWinds to Phaze any stat-uppers and forces Toxic Spikes upon enemies. Manaphy is using Acid Armor for Stalling and b/c Lugia/Kyogre can use Ice Beam for Rayquaza.

Kyogre @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Drizzle
EVs: 4 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Water Spout
- Thunder
- Hydro Pump
- Ice Beam
---

Starter Lead, obviously, I use Hydro Pump because If he is low on life (preventing Water Spout from hitting hard), I need to ensure my Power is still strong, 270 base Power Hydro Pump is simply too powerful to give up.

Rhyperior (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Solid Rock
EVs: 252 Atk/28 Def/228 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Rock Polish
- Megahorn
---

Replacing Adament Electivire (has the same Attack power as a Adament Electivire oddly enough) with Rock Polish Rhyperior. I come in on the Thunder from Choice Specs/Scarf Kyogre, Rock Polish on the Switch and prepare to Sweep Psychics with Mega Horn, and hit fliers with STAB Stone Edge.

I needed the most powerful non-Groudon ground Pokemon, and here he is!

Lugia @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP/52 Def/204 Spd
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Reflect
- Roost
- Whirlwind
- Ice Beam
---

Wall and Phazer. Helps with Reflect for my team, and works as a Skarmary-like pokemon to cause Switches with TSpikes/SRock.

Manaphy @ Leftovers
Ability: Hydration
EVs: 240 HP/164 SAtk/104 SDef
Calm nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Rest
- Toxic
- Surf
- Acid Armor
---

Can heal, boost Defense, and hit hard. Toxic is there for Stalling out Levitate/Fliers who are immune to TSpikes. Surf is for sheer-power.

Forretress (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 244 HP/12 Atk/252 Def
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Stealth Rock
- Rapid Spin
- Toxic Spikes
- Explosion
---

Set up and Explode. Gyro ball/EQ is simply too weak in ubers. I needed the best attack.

Latias (F) @ Soul Dew
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 128 HP/176 Spd/204 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Calm Mind
- Dragon Pulse
- Grass Knot
- Wish
---

Heal team, and take hits, Sweeps as well. All in one.

What do u think now?

I don't think that Manaphy set will work.
Groudon/Rayquaza/Tyranitar comes in on a predicted Rest and gets a free turn. Most teams don't want that.

I fixed Rhyperior, and am thinking about Manaphy... Perhaps Ice Beam over Surf for Groudon/Rayquaza, and I am still thinking about keeping Acid Armor, (which can help if the pokemon u said would switch in, as they are all Physical anyways).

I set the EVs to 1hko Rayquaza anyways. But I feel Ice Beam is a waste, I already have it on Lugia/Kyogre.

Perhaps invest 252 Hp / 252 Def/ 4 SDef and use a Bold nature on Manaphy.

Give it Calm Mind/Rest/Ice Beam/Toxic. However, I am not sure if that would work so well.

My updated team is below.

I have Forretress with Toxic Spikes, so a Toxic Manaphy isn't needed.

I would like Giratina, to prevent Rapid Spin, and help stall, so Manaphy is beign replaced by it.

Kyogre @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Drizzle
EVs: 4 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Water Spout
- Thunder
- Hydro Pump
- Ice Beam
---

Starter Lead, obviously, I use Hydro Pump because If he is low on life (preventing Water Spout from hitting hard), I need to ensure my Power is still strong, 270 base Power Hydro Pump is simply too powerful to give up.

Rhyperior (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Solid Rock
EVs: 252 Atk/28 Def/228 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Rock Polish
- Megahorn
---

Replacing Adament Electivire (has the same Attack power as a Adament Electivire oddly enough) with Rock Polish Rhyperior. I come in on the Thunder from Choice Specs/Scarf Kyogre, Rock Polish on the Switch and prepare to Sweep Psychics with Mega Horn, and hit fliers with STAB Stone Edge.

I needed the most powerful non-Groudon ground Pokemon, and here he is!

Lugia @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP/52 Def/204 Spd
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Reflect
- Roost
- Whirlwind
- Ice Beam
---

Wall and Phazer. Helps with Reflect for my team, and works as a Skarmary-like pokemon to cause Switches with TSpikes/SRock. Reflect works really well against Rayquaza, and Groudon, along side Ice beam. I also feel I may need a SPecial Sponge on my team. (I have Giratina/Forretress/Lugia, where is my special tank)?

Giratina @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 244 HP / 12 Att / 252 Def
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtt)
- Rest
- W-o-w
- Dragon Claw
- Shadow Dive
---

Can heal, burn Physical Attackers, Dragon Claw other Dragons, and Shadow Dive is for Psychics and other Giratinas. Also bypasses protect. Rest is manditor and I felt Sleep Talk wasnt as necessary as a move that is SE vs Psychics (which I do not otherwise have on my team) especially with 180 Base Power and coming from the Physical side.

Forretress (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 244 HP/12 Atk/252 Def
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Stealth Rock
- Rapid Spin
- Toxic Spikes
- Explosion
---

Set up and Explode. Gyro ball/EQ is simply too weak in ubers. I needed the best attack.

Works with Giratina.

Latias (F) @ Soul Dew
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 128 HP/176 Spd/204 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Calm Mind
- Dragon Pulse
- Grass Knot
- Wish
---

Heal team, and take hits, Sweeps as well. All in one.

Giratina

I would change Lugia's EV spread to withstand more hits , since the average Groudon only runs at 216 Speed to 208 HP, 164 Def, 135 Speed. Also, for Palkia, I would just put 252 Sp. Atk, 252 Speed and put Surf, Aqua tail, Thunder, and Spacial Rend, since Palkia can already 2HKO Blissey in the rain. Also, whirlwind is not a nessesity for Lugia anymore (I've read the new Lugia analysis from Great Sage) and I myself would put Roost, Reflect, Ice Beam, Toxic, so that is something else to hit Shedinja with.

Fixed Lugia's EVs like you said. I am not sure what to do with Palkia, I did take him out. Its kinda like having another Kyogre, except Aqua Tail over Hydro Pump. Perhaps he could be used, over Rhyperior? I dunno, it may be better as there isn't a guarantee Rhyperior will get a chance to Rock Polish.

Kyogre @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Drizzle
EVs: 4 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Water Spout
- Thunder
- Hydro Pump
- Ice Beam
---
Starter lead, with MODEST.

Rhyperior (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Solid Rock
EVs: 252 Atk/28 Def/228 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- Rock Polish
- Megahorn
---
ROCK POLISH AND SWEEP. TAKES THUNDER HITS.

Lugia @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 208 HP/164 Def/136 Spd
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Reflect
- Roost
- Whirlwind
- Ice Beam
---
TAKES GRASS KNOT/EQS SENT TO KYOGRE/RHYPERIOR. REFLECT SETS UP TEAM, AND WW HELPS WITH SR/TS.

Giratina @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 244 HP/12 Atk/252 Def
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Will-o-wisp
- Shadow Force
- Rest
- Dragon Claw
---

ANTI-RAPID SPIN AND COUNTERS PHYSICAL SWEEPERS AND THE MOST COMMON TYPES: DRAGONS AND PSYCHICS.

TAKES BUG/FIGHTING/NORMAL TYPES (HERACROSS/SLAKING). ALSO TAKES THUNDER/GRASS KNOT/OVERHEAT (GROUDON/RAYQUAZA).

Forretress (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 244 HP/12 Atk/252 Def
Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Stealth Rock
- Rapid Spin
- Toxic Spikes
- Explosion
---

SET UP AND RSPIN. EXPLOSION IS FOR THE 500 BASE DAMAGE WHICH BARELY CUTS IT IN UBERS CONSIDERING ITS 219 BASE ATTACK.

HELPS TAKE BUG/DRAGON/ICE/DARK/GHOST ATTACKS SENT TO LATIAS/GIRATINA.

Latias (F) @ Soul Dew
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 128 HP/176 Spd/204 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Calm Mind
- Dragon Pulse
- Grass Knot
- Wish
---

TAKES THUNDER/GRASS KNOT/EQ/OVERHEAT (GROUDON/RAYQUAZA). WISH SUPPORTS MY KYOGRE/FORR/RHYP.

TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK!

I am not sure about Ryperior, I mean, you could try it, but I do not know how it works in this metagame, try it and see how it works. For myself, I would use Tyranitar, since most ubers cannot withstand a choice band crunch and pursuit (except maybe Lugia and Giratina, depending on the EV spread).

You are correct, but I do like having a Free Switch-in to set-up and sweep. (If I send in a non-Thunder immunity to take thunder, they could end up getting Paralyzed).

You know... I could even Use Groudon over Rhyperior. Less Weaknesses, and Drought will not hurt any of my pokemon as only Kyogre has any moves depending on the Rain, plus she sets up her own rain anyways.

Groudon is faster as well, which means if I were to give it Rock Polish I wouldn't need to spend any Speed EVs and could devote it to its HP/Defense.

Groudon: @ Life Orb

Eq
Stone Edge
Rock Polish
Over Heat/Shadow Claw/Dragon Claw

The advantages of Rhyperior however, include a STAB on Stone Edge, and access to Mega Horn (over Shadow Claw), and more HP. Rhyperior can arguably have a better ability (unless you count Drought for Water types).

Groudon however, can be Adament, has more Base Attack and has Sunny boosted Overheat for Special Attack support. In addition, he has only 2 weaknesses (Water is canceled out by Drought) to Ice/Grass.

Groudon also makes it harder for opponents to try and use Thunder on Lugia.

I still need help... Rhyperior/Groudon/or Palkia?

Palkia is great for mixed sweeping, and Groudon/Rhyperior are great for taking Thunder hits. (Groudon also lowers Thunder's acc. to 50% which helps out Lugia in the future).

EDITE-

I really need to finish this team, i plan on using it for the Uber Tourney... Any advice??!!!

Also thanks to anyone who has offered me help, I appreciate it.

Adding Rhyperior to a team with rain is just asking for it to get stroked with even the weakest water attack, Bubble.

I would keep Palkia. Groudon and Kyogre on the same team isn't very smart. Most Ubers can abuse Thunder and such than Solar Beam or a fire attack, so once Kyogre goes down your team is going to be all screwed up.

By the way, make it easier for all of us by editing your original post, and not posting your new edited team as a reply.

Ok, I switched out Rhyperior for Palkia. Although I feel it is a bit too much like Kyogre (Same Sp. Attack, similar moveset, etc).

Remember, Groudon is still viable as non of my other pokemon can care less if there is rain or not, and Groudon does helps Lugia with Thunder, granting it only 50% accuracy.

Edited me 1st post as you said.

Replace Palkia with Kingdra... It's so much better... Yes thats right I said it! Every uber rain team needs a Kingdra!

Kingdra @ Life Orb
Ability: Swift Swim
Nature: Mild
EVs: 192 Attack / 64 Speed / 252 Special Attack
*Surf
*Waterfall
*Dragon Pulse
*Draco Meteor

Gives 222 speed to outrun Tar in sand, and Deoxys-A max positive nature in rain.

Absolutely broken in the uber tier. If you can whittle things down to about 80% you can take out most of the uber metagame in just one hit. Mewtwo, Darkrai, Deoxys-A, Forry, Skarm, Lati@, Giritina, Palkia, Metagross, Tyranitar (waterfall), Mew, Ho-oh, Garchomp, and Manaphy... are all OHKOed around 80%-full health before they can touch you. Lugia and Deoxys-D... are 2HKOed with Surf, and Blissey with Waterfall. Dragon Pulse will always get Palkia but Draco Meteor is for the other dragons.

The only real problem pokemon are Arceus, Kyogre, Raquaza (damn air lock), Groudon, and Dialga with at least 60% health.

I may as well just use a CSscarf Palkia... Better Special Attack and Attack.

I am gonna put in Rayquaza over Rhyperior, and CScarf my Palkia.

Dunno what Rayquaza is going over but the one thing I'd worry about most is a CMMewtwo, as well as a Darkrai problem. I'd prefer if you did like a more phsyical based faster Poke, as if those two are boosting their Specail Defense, it's going to get depressing.

Just a thought

Using a Ray for DDance+Life Orb to sweep on the Physical Side. And adding in Deoxys - A over Groudon. Lugia is back for WW help...

I fixed my 1st post with my new team. Dexoy's A kicks Darkrai/Mewtwo's Ass
