[Uber RMT] Team Set-up to Sweep

Overview

This is my 1st RMT so it may suck a bit.
This team has been my best Ubers team yet, peaking at #2 on the leaderboard. At first, I started with Kyogre Lead and eventually formed my entire party.

Playstyle

Try to set up as much as possible and sweep

The Team

20070119194627-deoxys.jpg

Deoxys-A @ Focus Sash
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Stealth Rock
- Superpower
- ExtremeSpeed
- Mirror Coat

This used to be a Scarf Kyogre Anti-lead but as I was looking for possible counters, I found Deoxys-A on smogon. Deoxys had been on the team for almost the entire time ever since I started this team and it works well against almost all leads and nearly guarantees a Stealth Rock up. Naive is for as much damage taken from water sport and dark pulse possible so I can Mirror Coat back for a KO. Extremespeed is for 2HKO on other Deoxys bar Defense form.

Palkia @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 Spd / 252 SAtk
Hasty Nature (+Spd, -Def)
- Spacial Rend
- Surf
- Thunder
- Outrage
The revenge killer of my team. Forms a deadly combination with Kyogre which allows Palkia to spam Draco-Meteor powered Surf and 100% accurate Thunder. Outrage is for Lati@s and Blissey who commonly switch in to this set.
Used to be Giratina-O but it does not work well

mod_article575246_1.jpg

Darkrai @ Lum Berry
Ability: Bad Dreams
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Spd / 252 SAtk
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Dark Void
- Nasty Plot
- Dark Pulse
- Focus Blast
This is the ultimate killer for Shedinja who totally walls my team. Usually setting up to +4 allows him to sweep entire teams unless Focus Blast misses or there are priority users. Lum berry is for a second chance to Dark Void Blissey and opponent Darkrais in case the first fails.

shaymin_sky.png

Shaymin-s (Shaymin-S) @ Expert Belt
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 252 Spd / 252 SAtk / 4 SDef
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Seed Flare
- Air Slash
- Earth Power
- Hidden Power [Ice]
This set effectively fooled many people to think that I’m using a Scarf Shaymin. This set faces a bit of problem with Lugia and Ho-Oh is Air Slash Hax doesn’t happen

garchomp.png

Garchomp (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Sand Veil
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Dragon Claw
- Stone Edge
- Swords Dance
The main physical sweeper. This is my favourite Pokemon of the team. I would set up to +2 or +4 depending on the situation and if I ever got to +4, only Priority users and Skarmory could stop this set.

kyogre.jpg

Kyogre @ Leftovers
Ability: Drizzle
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Spd / 252 SAtk
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Calm Mind
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Thunder
CM sweeper. This set fools people to think that this is the infamous Scarf Kyogre and therefore I CM on the switch and depending on what they send out, I would attack or continue setting up until around 40% Health.
Used to Be Skarmory which is a very effective counter to Arceus and Garchomp though I feel that I want it back but that means Pakia going off as well seeing how it relies on Kyogre
Threat List

(Threat list stolen from whole chain of people)

The Ubers
Darkrai: Superpower OHKOs it, Earth Powers OHKOs most of the time, Focus Blast OHKO if it hits, Palkia outspeeds andkills it with anything. Kyogre OHKOs with anything and he can’t do anything to me so I would only have to switch out if he switches in on Garchomp

Deoxys-A: Palkia kills it with anything.

Deoxys-D: Darkrai can Dark Void and possibly cause a switch where it can NP and start sweeping.

Deoxys-S: Kyogre and Palkia can take a hit and OHKO in the rain.

Dialga: Earth Power can OHKO if it switched in on a Seed Flare

Garchomp: Palkia outspeeds and KO with Spacial rend if it is not Habaned. Kyogre can take an unboosted hit and OHKO with Ice Beam. Shaymin outspeeds non-Scarfed variants and OHKO thosed that are not Yached with HP Ice

Giratina: Dark Void and NP and hope it does not Sleep Talk. Spacial Rend from Palkia and Ice Beam from Kyogre stops it totally.

Giratina-O:
Darkrai kills all with +2 Dark Pulse. Palkia KOs with Spacial Rend. Switch to Darkrai if I sense Shadow Sneak.

Ho-oh: If it comes out on Shaymin, I would have to hope for the best with Air Slash but I mostly switch out to Palkia and hope I don’t get burnt. Palkia and Kyogre can handle it it’s not the sun-roost variant. Garchomp always beats it with Stone Edge or Earthquake if it roosts.

Kyogre: I usually go to Palkia to shut it with Thunder. If I sense Ice Beam, I go to my own Kyogre and set up on it. I don’t really care if it has T-Wave if I go to Kyogre as it is already slow by uber standards.

Latias: Go to Kyogre to take the Dragon type move. CM as it CMs Ice beam as it attacks. It will always fall. If Kyogre goes down, Outrage from Palkia is the way to go.

Latios: Much the same as Latias, though Kyogre may not survive that long.

Lugia: Garchomp OHKOs all variants of Lugia with +2Stone Edge. Have to be wary of Timid with Ice Beam though.

Manaphy: All variants of manaphy is handled by Palkia and Shaymin.

Mew: Dark Void and set-up.

Mewtwo: If switches on Shaymin/Garchomp, go to Kyogre as it Ice Beams, to Garchomp as it Thunders, then finally to Palkia or Darkrai fo finish it off. Go to Garchomp when he switches in on Garchomp.

Palkia: Kyogre takes special attacks and 2HKO back with Thunder if it is Scarfed. If not, Let something die and Seed Flare from Shaymin.

Rayquaza: Outspeed Sword Dance and Mix Variants with Shaymin and KO with HP Ice. +1 DD will die from Palkia. +2 DD I will have to hope for the best.
Shaymin-S: Go to Kyogre then to Shaymin to test the set. Choiced versions will die from HP Ice. Unscarfed ones will die from Palkia.

Wobbuffet:
On Deoxys—Set up and die
On Darkrai—Dark Pulse as Mirror Coat fails
On Shaymin—Wait to die
On Garchomp—Sword Dances as it counters, Earthquake as it Encores and it dies
On Kyogre—Same as Garchomp
On Palkia—Same as Shaymin

The Non-Ubers

Blissey: Outrage from Palkia Silences it. Dark Void puts it to sleep and NP on the switch. If there is no switch just continue Nping until it wakes up or reach +6. Laughs as it T-waves/Toxics when lum berry cures Darkrai and OHKO with +6 Focus Blast.
Forretress: Surf it, Thunder it, +2 Earthquake it, Dark Void it. Shaymin and Deoxys do not like it so switch out.

Heatran: Surf, Earth Power, Earthquake, Focus Blast and Superpower all will finish it off.

Kingdra: Switch to Kyogre to take the Dragon move, then see whether it is Outrage or Draco Meteor
Ourtage: Oops
Draco Meteor: Go to Palkia on Waterfall and laugh as Draco Meteor does not KO
Lucario: Shaymin and Garchomp always wins.
Ludicolo: Palkia can handle everything exept a Focus Punch on the Switch-in
Metagross: Earthquake and Earth Power Handles it if it switches into any move.

Ninjask: Extremespeed-GG

Scizor: Walled by Palkia unless it has Superpower but it won’t get to use it.

Skarmory: Thunder…BOOM!

Tyranitar: Everthing can handle with the appropriate move

I know you're using the Deoxys-A set that's listed onsite, but that version is extremely outdated and frankly it's pretty bad. Firstly, since most lead Kyogre are in fact not Scarfed, you're likely going to be taking a Thunder Wave before you're attacked, so Mirror Coat is incredibly unreliable. In addition, even with max Attack, Extremespeed fails to 2HKO the standard 252 HP / 4 Def Deoxys-S lead, dealing 40.1% - 47.4%. A better set tailored towards this metagame would be to use a Naive Deoxys-A with Stealth Rock / Signal Beam / Extremespeed / Grass Knot, and then switching the EVs to 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe. The combination of Signal Beam + Extremespeed lets you 2HKO Deoxys-S, limiting them to one layer of entry hazards, and Signal Beam also OHKOes Darkrai, which is important due to the absence of Superpower. Grass Knot will always 2HKO Kyogre and will often OHKO Groudon, but if opposing Kyogre are Scarfed, a Grass Knot followed by Extremespeed is still powerful enough to always defeat Kyogre. The loss of Superpower is unfortunate, but fortunately Dialga leads are very rare now, and you have Garchomp (and even Darkrai to an extent) to handle Blissey.

Another problem is your lack of a Steel-type, as opposing Scarf Palkia or Scarf Dialga can simply come in, spam their STAB Dragon attacks and almost assuredly be taking something out. Like most offensive teams, you could really benefit from adding a good old reliable Scizor to sponge these attacks. I would suggest you try Choice Band Scizor over Shaymin-S. Currently, Shaymin-S is doing very little for your team, aside from bluffing a Scarf I guess and giving you a Ground immunity, although you're not very weak to Groudon. Scizor patches up some big holes and fits very well with the theme of your team, which is to set up and sweep.

Scizor @ Choice Band
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 200 HP / 56 Atk / 252 SpD
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SpA)
- Bullet Punch
- U-turn
- Pursuit
- Superpower

It's just your basic CB Scizor, and its bulk lets you easily sponge the various Dragon-type attacks that I'm sure you're familiar with in Ubers. U-turn is also an incredibly useful attack, and it works very nicely with your team. With Pokemon like Forretress often switching in to take Scizor's attacks, using U-turn as they come in can give one of your three setup Pokes a free chance to come in and boost with their appropriate move. Superpower is also nice to threaten Blissey, who you're slightly weak to. Not only this, but since you're immensely weak to SD Rayquaza, Bullet Punch can be a godsend if you're in a tight position. It's not to say Scizor is a surefire way of countering Rayquaza, since you'll only 2HKO with Bullet Punch, it's very useful to help wear it down alongside Life Orb and Stealth Rock. While I could have easily just recommended Scarf Dialga over Scarf Palkia to beat SD Rayquaza, and then adding a Latias somewhere for your Kyogre counter, I don't want to disrupt the nice flow you have going on with your team and change it into something completely different. I believe Scizor is the most sensible solution to patch up your Scarf Palkia/Dialga weakness, to give your sweepers a better opportunity to set up, and to give a little insurace against Rayquaza. Anyways, you have a cool team and everything is just about covered, just be careful against scary Pokes like Rayquaza and you'll be fine.

Hi, this is an ok first attempt. Congrats for your leaderboard spot, too.

Firstly your team is weak to Dragon attacks in general. Stuff like Dialga and Palkia can come in again and again and spam Draco Meteor to kill pretty much everything. This is why, like Iconic, I will recommend a Steel type to deal with them. I'm going to suggest replacing Shaymin-S for Scizor, but apart from the CB set that Iconic suggested, I'm going to give you a few more options. First is Ubers Trapper, then SD:

Scizor @ Life Orb
Ability: Technician
EVs: 152 HP/124 Atk/232 SpD
Nature: Adamant
-Bullet Punch
-U-Turn
-Pursuit
-Roost

SD:

Scizor @ Life Orb/Leftovers
Ability: Technician
EVs: 248 HP/252 Atk/8 Spe
Nature:
-Swords Dance
-Bullet Punch
-Bug Bite
-Roost/Superpower

The sets I have give allow you to switch into Dragon attacks and roost off the damage. The SD set is good if you want another sweeper, I guess.

Apart from this, I also suggest changing Deoxys-A lead to something better. The Mirror Coat lead is kind of outdated and isn't that good. I would just suggest a pure attaching set:

Deoxys-A @ Focus Sash
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 4 Atk/252 SpA/252 Spe
Nature: Hasty
-Stealth Rock
-Grass Knot
-Superpower
-Extremespeed/Ice Beam/Psycho Boost

Psycho Boost is fun to use, since it hurts like hell on pretty much anything, but ES or Ice Beam is usually better for the last spot.

Hope I helped, good luck.

The deoxys-a set is really outdated and this handles most leads better:

Deoxys-A @ Focus Sash
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 4 Atk/252 SpA/252 Spe
Nature: Hasty
-Stealth Rock
-Grass Knot
-Superpower
-Extremespeed/spikes/fire punch

Give kyogre a life orb if running that set or change to a bulkier sub CM set with a 252HP/232SAtk/24Spd EV spread.

You team struggles to take common hits very well so a steel type like metagross, scizor or jirachi is recommended over shaymin or darkrai. Your team will also lose to many stall teams as you have an inability to wallbreak. The forry-lugia-bliss combo can practically destroy your team. I recommend that you put in a good wallbreaker like mix ray or palkia to deal with such walls. How did you get up to No.2 so quickly?

Thanks I took the Scizor and still testing about Deoxys

OK I tested out the Deoxys Set you recommended me but the first battle I had after modifying the team had a CM Lugia and... so ya.
