Hello and welcome to the latest iteration of the Ubers Teambuilding Workshop! If you aren't aware, this thread hosts a team of experienced teambuilders which can turn your concepts and ideas into workable builds. Simply post a set or core (of at most 2 mons) you wish for us to work with along with, if you want, an explanation of what you want the final product to resemble.

RULES

  • Please try and limit requests to something that could fit into a workable build. We reserve the right to reject anything we deem unworkable.
  • Constructive feedback to teams or ideas are welcome, however attempting to put down ideas or drafts with no explanation is not.
  • Do not flood with requests. We are limiting requests to thrice a week, however this may be subject to change.
  • Try not to repost. We will try and keep the OP updated on what was finished and if it isn't there then we've chosen to ignore it.

Zygarde @ Groundium Z
Ability: Power Construct
EVs: 228 Atk / 48 SpD / 232 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Dragon Dance
- Thousand Arrows
- Substitute
- Dragon Tail

Requesting a team around DD Z-Move Zygarde. I wanted a Bulky Offense team, but if you find a strange HO that still works with it, even better (but I would really preffer if it wasn't a balance team). The Z-Crystal can be both Groundium or Dragonium, it doesn't matter (neither does the last slot, I put Dtail just because I like it more with Groundium), it just needs to be a offensive-inclined team with DD Zyg.

This team uses Z-Outrage in order to remove support Arceus and defensive Zygarde in order for Primal Groudon and, to a lesser extent, Marshadow to wreak havoc. Arceus-Water and Yveltal form the Primal Groudon checking core, with specially defensive Dusk Mane checking most faries and providing Stealth Rock. Scarf Marshadow was chosen as we cannot fit Sucker Punch on Yveltal without dropping Toxic or Defog. The slashes on Marshadow indicate personal preference; adamant provides the extra power to KO Mega Gengar and always OHKO Ultra Necrozma while jolly outspeeds 279 RP don at +2. Toxic and Shadow Sneak are more or less filler moves, with Toxic allowing you to pressure support Arceus more while Shadow Sneak lets you win the Marshadow mirror a lot more.

Thank you! Just one question: is Earthquake just prefference over Pblades for Groudon or is it the best option for this specific team? I'm asking this because the most important calc for Pblades would be against support Arceus, which is what Zygarde is here, so I was curious.

I chose it because of that reason but you're free to use whichever you want. I think earthquake misses certain KOs when unboosted as well so if you're not comfortable with that then it's fine.

Hello builders,

in the last thread I asked for a team around Specs Aegislash, an interesting set I saw in an article and wondered "how in the world does that work on a team?" However, it was seemingly ignored, so I will ask again. If it is unworkable, please let me know rather than letting it sit for months unattended. I don't care about playstyle

Aegislash @ Choice Specs

We've discussed this a bit and we don't think a Specs set would work very well, because it will be hard for it to break through a lot of things with recovery that outspeed it like Arceus formes. I came up with a different offensive set, though, that we're willing to build around:
Aegislash @ Life Orb
Ability: Stance Change
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpA
Quiet Nature
- King's Shield
- Toxic
- Shadow Ball
- Head Smash
Is a team around this set OK for you? (explanation for this set will be in the team's description once its posted here)

This is mostly for The Dovahneer since his teams have fallen victim to this more than once. That being said, I don't mind if others join in as well.

I have always wondered what a different perspective on Toxic Kangaskhan would look like given how much of an Arceus bait it is and how many Steel-types fear Seismic Toss (they are usually short of 400 HP and are slower than Kanga). I'm fine with the spread changing and the coverage move for ghosts changing as well, the only requirements here are Toxic and Seismic Toss (Fake Out is only pseudo-mandatory because it's a Kanga). Kanga is already pretty rare and I would like to encourage the exploration of the teams it can potentially work with if possible (I think it is very possible still).

I'm kinda new around here and I've been trying to learn team building because its my weakest skill.
One of my favorite sets as of recent is Tailwind Lunala and I've been trying to build a team around it but can't quite hit the mark.
My preferred set is:

Lunala @ Lunalium Z
Ability: Shadow Shield
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Calm Mind
- Moongeist Beam
- Tailwind
- Focus Blast

but I'll take anything really.

Prefer it to be HO or BO if possible but open to balance as well.

Thank you!

EVs: 252 HP / 164 Def / 92 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Judgment
- Ice Beam
- Recover
- Calm Mind

This team is built around Kangaskhan + Toxic Spikes, Kangaskhan can annoy many defensive teams with Seismic Toss, mostly passive walls like Toxapex, etc. this Pokemon with Toxic Spikes have this task more easier since Toxic Spikes will wear down slowly the health of Supportceus and works agaisn't offensive teams, Magearna + Giratina-O to fill weaknesses abusing of Toxic Spikes, while Magearna check Xerneas and Yveltal, Giratina abuses with Hex and it offer Ground Inmunity, Dragon Tail to avoid issues with Arceus-Ground, Fast Primal Groudon to win speed tie in primal vs primal matchup, also win vs opposing Exca leads, while Arceus-Dark checks Salamence Mega, offer resistance to Gengar and Yveltal, while being able to sweep with Calm Mind in late game.
WreckDra I know you asked Dovah build, but I wanted to give a shot too and I worked w the guys to bring this team :] hope you like it

Darkrai @ Life Orb
Ability: Bad Dreams
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hypnosis
- Nasty Plot
- Dark Pulse
- Sludge Bomb

Requesting a team built around Darkrai.
https://pokepast.es/f7ffd67a0d0241db
This team aims to take advantage of Deo-S’s Gravity granting Hypnosis 100% accuracy, allowing Darkrai to set up freely and remove its teammates checks from the game. We opted for Z Hypnosis over Life Orb due to the speed boost allowing Darkrai to outpace Scarf Xerneas, Ultra Necrozma and Marshadow. Groudon is an extremely potent sweeper that helps the team deal with both fairies and Kyogre. Salamence offers an answer to opposing Groudon and benefits from the pressure Rai puts on fairies with boosted Sludge Bomb and support Arceus forms with Dark Pulse. Xerneas provides an answer to both Marshadow and Yveltal while also being capable of abusing gravity with its two 70% accurate coverage moves. Finally, Arceus’s strong priority helps greatly to prevent opposing reverse sweeps from mons like Ultra Necrozma and Xerneas. Additionally, it’s Chople Berry can help it to lure and KO Marshadow which aids both Darkrai and Salamence in sweeping.

Additional things of note:
-Lunala is another hard hitting hypnosis abuser that has the added benefit of blocking Rapid Spin
-Facade on salamence is a viable option, but EQ was chosen as it can hit Groudon without incurring recoil as well as Necrozma-DM

Asking for Toxapex + Mgar Trapper build. I’ve been recently trying to make a team like this work but it seems to always fall short. I wanna see the teambuilding process so I can get familiar with this mon.

Toxapex @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
- Toxic Spikes
- Scald
- Haze
- Recover

Pex is a really good toxic spikes setter and the biggest problems it runs in to is Mega Gengar which not only removes your toxic spikes but traps you and eliminates it. Pursuit trapping takes away that nuisance.

What ever playstyle you guys think works best

we chose Sticky webs as it can allow tailwind to act as a secondary support option and another wincon (win condition), as tailwind can be an extra insurance that your mons will be faster. Smeargle is arguably the most consistent webs setter, so that + aerodactyl is our hazard setting core. As with hyper offense webs teams, webs+sr is imperative to an effective game. We're also running taunt on both of them so as to not let the opponent defog away. Metronome yveltal acts as another taunter, that can break through stall teams and balance teams with it's metronome boosted attacks. Mega lucario is your main sweeper, with webs and rocks up it becomes nigh near unstoppable, with stone edge opted over bullet punch as with webs teams, bullet punch is not as mandatory as being able to hit ho oh. Lunala is your secondary sweeper, being able to hit hard with calm mind and z, and can set up a tailwind for you then sacked, to pave the way for yveltal and lucario to wreak more havoc. I also opted for moonblast over focus blast, as it has greater coverage, and focus blast is only really for ferrothorn, which can be hit hard with z.

Hey, here's the team: https://pokepast.es/2ee8738224fbbe5c I think it's really solid, hope you enjoy.
With Toxapex providing Toxic Spikes support, I wanted to pair it with as many tspikes abusers as possible while giving the team an adequate defensive backbone. I started off with Yveltal, which has good defensive synergy with Toxapex since it's immune to Psychic and Ground. This makes it a great pivot into stuff like Dusk Mane/Ultra Necrozma that try to setup on Toxapex. Band Yveltal is also good as a Toxic Spikes abuser, since many of its checks including Arceus-Fairy, Xerneas, and support Arceus formes are weak to it. Hitting on the physical side lets it break thru Ho-Oh and dent Magearna, both tspikes-immune Pokemon that usually wall special Yveltal sets.

Marshadow is the Pursuit trapper of choice and gives this team a great offense matchup, while mixed Primal Groudon checks Primal Kyogre and helps out Yveltal's wallbreaking efforts. Both of them really appreciate tspikes for putting pressure on support Arceus formes, which are many teams' usual answers to them. Giratina-O is our Defogger, Primal Groudon check, and also a great tspikes abuser thanks to Hex. Finally, Magearna rounds out the team by checking Fairy- and Dark-types and provides VoltTurn support for our breakers.

Sets:
- Toxapex is holding Shuca Berry to compensate for the weakness against Arceus-Ground, which is generally hard to avoid with Toxapex teams. It also gives it more opportunities to set up tspikes eg. against Primal Groudon.
- Toxic is used over Scald to put pressure on Defoggers like Ho-Oh and Arceus-Ground, also so we're not setup bait for Primal Groudon.
- Primal Groudon's fourth move is Hidden Power Ice to make up for a lack of a support Arceus on this team, since otherwise Mega Salamence / Zygarde-C would be problematic to revenge kill.
- Giratina-O has Dragon Pulse instead of Draco Meteor so it can consistently break the Substitutes of Zygarde-C / Extreme Killer.

Bad matchups:
- Despite Shuca Berry on Toxapex, Calm Mind Arceus-Ground is likely to get at least 1-2 kills.
- Offensive Ho-Oh with Life Orb/Choice Band 2HKOes every Pokemon, including Toxapex, and can easily come in on Groudon or Magearna.
- [Probably other stuff I haven't thought of yet]

Tip for dealing with Mega Gengar:
Although the team includes a Pursuit user, Marshadow obviously can't switch directly into it. Also, some variants of it carry Substitute, which it can freely use on Toxapex since we lack Scald. If Mega Gengar tries to trap Toxapex, go to Magearna on the turn it Mega Evolves and get a slow Volt Switch out into Marshadow. Volt Switch will break any Substitute it has, then you can use Pursuit with Marshadow.

I would really like a team centered around support Arceus Dark like on whichever archetype you think it'll work best. Darkceus strikes me as as a mon that fits better on balance or stall though. Use whichever 4th slot move you think would work best on the team in terms of roles.

I’d like to see a team using offensive dialga (or palikia but dialga is probably better)
Preferably HO or bulky offense

Heyy can you build around arceus ice with icium z and rocky Helmet mons
Hi Rhmsitb, would you mind elaborating a little bit on what you mean by this (any specific mon in mind for rocky helmet?), and on your reasoning behind this request? We don't right now see any real reason to use those ideas in tandem, or really to use Arceus-Ice at all over another forme, so if you could help us to see your motivation maybe we could put something together.
