I was thinking the same thing, there really is no good reason to use this over Blissey/Chansey, heck even Vaporeon and Alomola. Alomola is probably the best comparison, as all it can do is wishpass and toxic stall, with little offence outside of a weak waterfall. Sound familiar? It should, thats all umbreon does, but with more HP to pass and a better typing, its even got a stronger attack.

All this has now over any wishpasser is baton pass, thats it.

Well if they ever fix trap passing, then umbreon can see use on baton pass teams alongside MM Espeon. THEN you actually have a reason to spam curse, as whatever your opponent brought in to deal with umbreon won't be able to switch out of whatever you BP into.

Umbreon is just bad this gen. It's been my favorite since gen 2, but it just can't function.

I can take out a couple ghosts in UU, but other than that it has absolutely nothing over Chansey/Blissey.

And it isn't just a "little annoying" when a steel type switches in. It's completely worthless, and setup bait to boot.

It's just so outclassed; a shame.

Umbreon's sole thing is firing back status at an opponent, heal belling, and/or wish passing.

Synchronise

Protect
Wish
Heal Bell
Taunt/Charm/etc.

So yeah, its a cleric that can screw over Jirachi or parashufflers or toxic stallers or whathaveyou. The biggest problem is that if the opposing team has a heal beller/aromatherapist then you're stuck using it as wish passer. Also, faster pokemon with substitute can turn things bad quick.
