UNDER PRESSURE? (OU gravity Team)

INTRO:HELLO TO ALL YOU, lovely, raters, and oompaloompahs who love to help me (hopefully)....
i have decided to make myself a RMT. and i chose something not many people would think to do for a team. i made GRAVITY! well, i didnt make it, that would be stupid, because yo cant just make gravity, you have to- oh, where was i. yes, i made myself a gravity team. i read in a guide about its uses and how to make the best of this amazing piece of strategy (gimmick), and i loved it. im still using it. but ive hit a stakemate between me, and my brain (lol). i cant think of a way to improve my team. its stoopid (im so smart, my team is so SMERT!)

anyway, heres my back story, and a bit of what gravity does.
i always loved pokemon. it was my favourite game when i first got my gameboy advanced (which, oddly enough was about 7 years ago. after they were DE-comitioned). my first experience with pokemon was pokemon yellow. i played right up until i faced off against brock.
the fact that 1 battle was so ridiculously unfair, and i won it. it just made me fall in love with the series.
then about 6 months before, i joined i found smogon.
i fell in love with the community too (not in that way). i wanted to be part of something. i wanted to be somewhere that i could accomplish great contributions to, even if it was only in cyber space. so i joined smogon. i havent achieved much in my 5 months of battling and trying to contribute, other than improving my battling skills a little tiny bit.
so thats why i need your help. to get better.

and so, before you look at my team, you should know what gravity does.
in short, all Pokemon become vunrable to ground type moves (except for pokemon with wonder guard ability).
and all moves with 70 accuracy or higher become perfectly accurate.
the move makes gravity last only 5 turns, and there is no way of extending it.

ok, team at a glance:

jirachi.jpg

Jirachi @ Leftovers
Trait: Serene Grace
EVs: 108 HP / 116 Atk / 96 SAtk / 188 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Thunder
- Gravity
- Iron Head
- Dynamic Punch

now, because this is a gravity team, it needs gravity inducers. at this point, 2 things struck me. 1. what had access to gravity? 2. what could abuse gravity's accuracy boost? jirachi fit the bill. because of its ability serene grace, i could use moves that no one else would use together.
gravity provides the boost neccisary for the entire team.
thunder allows me to paralyze foes with out having to waste a move slot for body slam. also, thunder inst walled by ghost (except golurk).
iron head is for the flinch HAX.
and dynamic punch. dynamic punch has a rather impressive 73-80% accuracy under gravity. this allows for jirachi to take down rock ad ice types with ease, and confuse them at the same time.
if all these moves effects are used on the one poke, that poke only has a 10-20% chance of actually doing anything!
the EVS are for jirachi to have a little bulk, and to still be able to dent the enemy for the duration of the game.

6734%20-%20dusclops%20pokemon%20rotom%20tagme.jpg

Dusclops (M) @ Eviolite
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 252 Def / 252 SDef / 4 Spd
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Seismic Toss
- Will-O-Wisp
- Pain Split
- Gravity

now, heres my defensive core. dusclops, coupled with eviolite, brings his defenses on both sides past 550! allowing him to take a +2 Dragon Claw, and burn the opponent.
gravity is for extended team support, and it allows WOW to have perfect accuracy under its effects.
pain-split is for recover, and seismic toss is for the constant damage.
EVs provide maximum defense, and HP recovery when pain split is used. though i do have a perfect IV on duslops, but that really doesnt affect too much.

nidoking.jpg

Nidoking (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Poison Point
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Blizzard
- Earth Power
- Sludge Wave
- Fire Blast

the power house of the team. the best late game sweep this team could ask for (provided gravity is up). because of gravity, you guessed it! all of his moves become perfectley accurate! blizzard takes down gliscor in 1 shot, which could be the end of my team if i didnt have it.
fire blast is to tackle scizor, and skarmory, which are a bitch to this team as well.
earth power provides STAB and a great way to get rid of heatran when gravity is up.
sludge wave is to take care of POILITOED which would be a real pain, because if it got 1 hydro pump in on my team, that could end everything.

metagross_by_vashesgal-d3dh0co.jpg

Metagross @ Leftovers
Trait: Clear Body
EVs: 252 HP / 96 Def / 160 SDef
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Stealth Rock
- Gravity
- Ice Punch/meteor mash
- Earthquake

the next, and last gravity inducer of my team. very good bulk, SKY HIGH atk stat. what more could i want? AN IMMUNITY TO FIRE TYPE ATTACKS!
they just plagu this guy like locusts plague Australia. its not funny.
stealth rock is for the residual damage.
gravity does what gravity does best.
icepunch tackles gliscor and landorous well on the swith in, whereas meteor mash has perfect accuracy under gravity, and the chance to get stronger.
earth quake takes care of any fire, steel, ice, rock, poison types in my way.
it also makes a nice milk shake :)

scrafty_loves_minecraft_by_nakuri-d3exqev.jpg

Scrafty (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Shed Skin
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Atk / 252 SDef
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Payback
- Bulk Up
- Drain Punch
- Dragon Tail

now, this is the strangest scrafty you've seen right? no ice punch? no DDance? no REST?! no. its just the bulkiest scrafty you have ever seen. scrafty has an amazing special bulk of over 330 when unboosted! allowing him to take a rain charged, STAB hydropump from most pokes with absolute ease!
payback tackles psychic type really well, even with out the bulk up boost.
bulk up gives me immense ATK and DEF stats, allowing me to tackle most pokes with absolute ease. skarmory isn't me=uch of a problem for this guy either. just use dragon tail before he can whirlwind scrafty's ass out of the battle. same with his stats.
also, dragon tail works really well on bulky Dnite.

roserade_base_by_xkelbix-d3bpp9o.png

Roserade (M) @ Black Sludge
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 160 HP / 252 SDef / 96 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Toxic Spikes
- Sleep Powder
- Hidden Power [Rock]
- Giga Drain

strange choice for sure. but it works. roserades special bulk is really great! even if its typing and physical bulk leaves alot to be desired. i set up toxic spikes with this poke, and all pokes, other than those that are poison type, are affected by this.
sleep powder relies on gravity because its too inaccurate to take chances other wise because of sleep clause.
HP rock prevents it from being taken down by volcarona, and giga drain allows for some needed recovery.

Landorus @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Sand Force
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- U-turn
- Hidden Power [Ice]

suggested by PWNAGE77.
the only niches this poke had in battle were that earthquake has STAB, and he resists electric type attacks. he had alot of trouble with skarm too.

Starmie @ Life Orb
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Hydro Pump
- Thunder
- Blizzard
- Recover / Rapid Spin

suggested by PWNAGE77
wasnt too bad to be honest. butit just didnt have the sweeping capabilities i need to win.

Celebi @ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 220 Def / 36 Spd
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Giga Drain
- Reflect / Hidden Power [Fire]
- Thunder Wave
- Recover

suggested by groudon ex
didnt do too badly. Twave really helped with the team. but ill leave haxing to jirachi. also, replacing my spikes inducer was a bit of a dumb thing to do. i got arse rape by 12 chansey! and i had no poison to deal with it.

well, thank you for reading this. i hope your contributions will make me better at battling, and that this has taught you what gravity and the use of gimmicks can really do :D

This is a pretty solid team. However your team is weak to CB Terrakion and almost any band or specs Pokemon that outspeeds your fastest Pokemon. You really need a fast Pokemon.
You could try giving Nidoking a scarf (if you want to keep nidoking you should definitely give him Thunder instead of sludge wave, because poison moves have a very bad coverage) ,or you could use a scarf Kyurem.

I'm just gonna say something. From what I know, all moves from 60% and above gets perfect accuracy, not just 70.

Here are my thoughts:

First off, nice team. I tried gravity before and it worked wonders! Your sweepers are pretty decent but aren't really good in the long run. So, I made some changes.

Changes(in Bold):

Jirachi @ Leftovers
Trait: Serene Grace
EVs: 108 HP / 116 Atk / 96 SAtk / 188 Spd
Naive/Hasty Nature (+Spd, -SDef/-Def)
- Thunder
- Gravity
- Iron Head
- Dynamic Punch

I don't really get your EV spread but if it works for you, then I won't object. First off, the nature contradicts with your EVs. 96 EVs in SAtk and Jolly Nature? Trust me, that's crap. The only reason you'd want Jolly is because you would use Body Slam. Actually, I'd say that Body Slam is better since Thunder's purpose is to Paralyze something and Body Slam has the same rate of paralyzing. Change your spread as well if you wish for Body Slam. Also, I think your reason for not using Body Slam is because Thunder has 120 BP. Well, you aren't really gonna use Thunder if Gravity is out right? If Body Slam is there, then you'd have no worries about Gravity if you wanna Paraflinch something.

Nidoking (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Sheer Force
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Blizzard
- Earth Power
- Thunder
- Fire Blast

Okay so your ability kinda ruins Nidoking's main use in OU. It got Sheer Force which is like a free Life Orb except that the effects of the moves are removed. I also replaced Sludge Wave with Thunder since you stated that Sludge Wave is there for Politoed. You see, Poison isn't really the best offensive move since a lot resist it. Thunder on the other hand, gets perfect accuracy and hits a lot more Pokemon. Although it may seem a little redundant, this is your only way of hitting some Water-types. But I have a better suggestion:

Starmie @ Life Orb
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Hydro Pump
- Thunder
- Blizzard
- Recover / Rapid Spin

This is a faster, stronger and much more reliable gravity sweeper out there. It's better than Nidoking in many ways except that it can't touch Ferrothorn which is supposed to be your Scrafty's job. I'll try replacing Nidoking with this. Also, add more sweepers.

You see, your team has 3 Gravity inducers and barely one abuser. To make this team stronger, try adding more sweepers. I believe that Scrafty really isn't enough of a sweeper and since you don't have Rest, it can't live long. Might as well add something like Landorus:
Landorus @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Sand Force
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge
- U-turn
- Hidden Power [Ice]

First of all, Gravity is best abused by Ground-types. Nothing is immune to 100 BP STAB Earthquake after Gravity. This means that Landorus' main enemy, Skarmory won't like facing Landorus at all. The best part is, Stone Edge gets perfect accuracy as well meaning some Pokemon resisting Earthquake can suck up with this move. Hidden Power Ice is for Gliscor who'll wall you to oblivion. I'd replace either Roserade or Scrafty for this but then Scrafty fits many roles in this team.

A little change on Metagross. Just go for Meteor Mash and ditch Ice Punch since you will have Nidoking/Starmie for that.

It's always refreshing to see something a bit different in a RMT, yet I still see that this team has its fair share of problems that need to be resolved. Most importantly, you lack a Ground resistance, which consequently means that CB Earthquake users will plough through this team with relative ease. I recommend you replace Roserade with Celebi, who has the useful Ground resistance under Gravity, giving you an effective defensive pivot against such onslaughts.

Celebi @ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 220 Def / 36 Spd
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Giga Drain
- Reflect / Hidden Power [Fire]
- Thunder Wave
- Recover

Reflect will provide Physical support for your team, although you could run HP [Fire] instead as a secondary attacking option. Thunder Wave will be incredibly valuable for your team as it is rather slow.

The next problem is the lack of a user of Rapid Spin. This is absolutely essential for Gravity teams unless you want to get raped by entry hazards. Consider replacing Dusclops with this Starmie set:

Starmie @ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 60 HP / 216 SAtk / 232 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Hydro Pump
- Thunder
- Gravity
- Rapid Spin

Keeps those nasty Spikes away from hurting your team. Look, it even gets Gravity! Hydro Pump and Thunder form solid coverage options for which the effects of Gravity will greatly enhance.

I don't think Scrafty is doing much to support your team, nor is it really abusing Gravity at all. Consider replacing it with Choice Scarf Landorus, who can abuse his STAB Earthquake under Gravity conditions, as well as revenge kill many dangerous threats such as Volcarona after 1 QD. The poster above me already gave the appropriate moveset.

Good luck.

@Emhirinho I'll try choice scarf on Nidoking. I just liked the insane power I was given with life orb.

&pwnage77
Jirachis EV spread is to all own him to retain some bulk and hit decentley on both sides. Jolly + 96 spA Evs is to counteract the drop in power.

On nidokings set, I have sludge wave over thunder because it hits politoed for super effective danger. I will try thunder on nido king instead to see how it goes.

I'll try the starmie instead of Nidoking, just because his potential could be much greater than Nidokings.
Also, I might try choice scarf or something in stead of lO.

Landorous could be an option. But I need something to set up T-spikes.
And I was also thinkingof scraping ice punch too! Great minds think alike....

@groudon ex, I understand that my team is extremely weak to ground type moves, thats the main reason my team is up here.
I'll try celebi though, but as I stated in my last statement, I need something for spikes. I'll try celebi, but keep that on mind please.

Also, that set looks pretty good, with all the, bolt beam coverage, and tasty gravity. But it's a risky move. If I don't use gravity on a well predicted switch in, starmies gone.

@lasers. I knew that already. Don't repeat what other people have said.

thats why im taking suggestions. im not here to boast about how awesome my team is. im here to get help. and stating what other people have said isnt to good an option.

First of all, I love seeing gravity teams, good on ya. Secondly, you need to make a few tiny adjustments. Well-- you don't have to-- but just some thoughts.

I'd replace Jirachi with this--

Registeel @ Leftovers
[pimg]379[/pimg]
Pressure
252 HP 252 SpD 4 Def
Sassy (+SpD, -Spe)

Gravity
Dynamic Punch
Zap Cannon
Stealth Rock

This frees up an extra move on Metagross, plus this Registeel functions as a great lead. With 82% Accuracy on those moves, you can really cripple enemies.

Also, consider Heracross over Nidoking, because it resists Ground, instead of being weak to it.

Heracross @ Choice Scarf/Toxic Orb
[pimg]214[/pimg]
Guts/Moxie
252 Atk 252 Spe 4 Hp
Adamant/Jolly

Close Combat
Megahorn
Stone Edge
Earthquake

Yeah, I'm giving you several options here, because this thing really works in the Gravity environment. Hitting Skarmory for super effective damage is really nice.

If you're adamant (get it-- adamant) about keeping some ground STAB, Choice Band Landorus is pretty sexy, because that EQ will be crazy.

Dusclops-- Change Seismic Toss to Dynamic Punch. Piss your opponent off just a little.

The best of luck to you.
