Underused Premier League - Week 1

Week One: April 1st-April 7th​

Hello and welcome to the first annual UUPL. With spectacular players occupying each tier, there will undoubtably be some great matches. UUPL gives players the opportunity celebrate the evolution of the UU metagames between generations. Beyond completing matches on time, I ask that we minimize any drama, remember this isn't SPL. If there is a problem, take it up with me privately on IRC or through private messages. Good luck to all teams and have fun.

UUPL will follow the same rules of SPL with the exception that the captains will have an opportunity to play. After each captain bans a metagame, the captains will face off in the remaining metagame. Note: Any metagame shifts that occur will not be taken into effect this round.

After a discussion with the managers, I am allowing name changes to the strikers and depot agents to The Ruins of Alph Ruin Maniacs and Safari Zone Gate Robo Groudons, respectively. As it is early in the season and the first UUPL, I see no problem in allowing name changes this week only. I offer this opportunity to all other teams.

EDIT: I don't know if I'm gonna keep playing. It's covered a huge portion of my schedule in the past months and I can't really say it's worth it when I can't really test a team on the ladder without it getting to my nerves. It isn't because of this match at all, since I only had a glimpse of a chance because of luck, but when every other battle I play has so much hax involved I'm gonna end up with a nervous breakdown lol. Don't consider this as my full resignation, but I feel like I gotta step out while I can. I'll have to think about it when I'm more calm, since it's the game we play and it comes with the job. However, there was one reason at first why I didn't play for 8 years, and I'm saddened to say it hasn't changed—Pokemon just gets to me. I'm gonna keep participating as much as I can, but I'm just not enjoying competitive battling as I should be. Sorry again, since I know I wasn't exactly 'free'. But at this point in my life, I need to start making decisions before I miss the last train.
