You have till Sunday to pick a partner , and to PM me his name , i'll create the conversation with all of you.
Don't forget that Each group feature 2 builders. So at the end i'll have 4 groups.

As i said if you didn't get picked as Builder , you can still suggest a Pokemon or Core here .
You can start to post your suggestions from now.

Deadline for suggestions is Tuesday . Feel free to discuss about the Pokemon or Core your want to build around.
I encourage new UUers to suggest mons.

I've got a random core that might sound like a bad idea, but I like it.

Rhypherior/Suicune Core.
Hey man, can you please elaborate on the core more? Its strengths or weaknesses and things like that?

Edit: Lucario only has base 90 speed it shouldn't be that fast you ninja

Could you give an explanation on this core? How the members support each other, what their roles are, etc.
Nope. Mostly because I just thought of it and I wanted to see what other people could come up with. One's essentially a bulky Rampardos, the other's... well, a bulky badass water dog. They're both pretty flexible, so it'd be interesting.

Ayy Ayy Ayy frens Im here to suggest a mon to build around.
This seems like a super fun contest thingy, so Imma suggest something really weird to truly test your building skill.

Build around my main nig Pangoro. But not just any Pangoro--

pangoro.gif

Pangoro @ Choice Band
Ability: Iron Fist
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spe / 4 Def
Jolly Nature
- Drain Punch
- Gunk Shot
- Knock Off
- Ice Punch / Parting Shot

YEAAA BANDED PANG
Not too much to say here, other than that Pangoro hits like a god, Iron Fist boosted Drain Punch is insanity, Knock Off is Knock Off, Gunk Shot is here for Fairies like Granbull and Florges, and you can run either Ice Punch or Parting Shot depending on if you want to kill pesky Gligars or Pivot out on forced switches. 252+ Speed lets it hit a respectable 236 Speed, which isn't terrible for such a hard hitter. I seriously want to see this thing work well, and you guys are some of the best Teambuilders out there, make it happen pls.

--But if Pangoro isn't weird enough--

escavalier.gif

Escavalier @ Choice Band
Ability: Overcoat
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Atk / 8 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Knock Off
- Iron Head
- Megahorn
- Drill Run / Pursuit

YEAAA BANDED BUG
No but really, it's just a total Nuke, almost nothing to say here. Its dual Stabs are absurdly strong, Knock Off is still Knock Off, and Drill run hits Steel-Types. Pursuit is a possibility if you want to trap Jirachis that are Choicelocked into Iron Head/Zen Headbutt. Escav's bulk is actually pretty nice, and it's another thing I want to see work.

Consider these 2 nukes, thanks!

EDIT: This is not a core, just 2 mons that I would like to see work individually.

Ok here is something me and Emmma were talking about last night.

sharpedo-mega.gif

Sharpedo-Mega @ Sharpedonite
Ability: Strong Jaw
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe or 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature / Naughty Nature
- Waterfall / Hydro Pump
- Crunch
- Ice Fang
- Protect

This guy is a major threat that is great on offensive teams. Unfortunately he isn't the flavor of the month as many offensive teams like Mega Beedrill as it is faster and has an arguably better ability. And he only gets one chance to sweep as once he Mega Evolves, he loses Speed Boost which is what makes him the threat he truly is. But with some of the best builders in UU, I believe that you guys can make this Pokemon rise the ranks.

A great mon to partner with this (and yes this is a core I am posting):

celebi.gif

Celebi @ Weakness Policy
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 220 SpD / 36 Spe
Careful Nature
- Baton Pass
- Recover
- Swords Dance
- Seed Bomb

You guys are some of the best builders in UU, I believe that you guys can make these Pokemon rise the ranks.

nice and xShiba cores

So here is a core I have been meaning to make a team around but just have been to lazy to do so:
feraligatr.gif

Feraligatr @ Life Orb
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 196 HP / 252 Atk / 60 Spe
Adamant Nature
IVs: 29 HP
- Swords Dance
- Aqua Jet
- Earthquake
- Waterfall

chesnaught.gif

Chesnaught @ Leftovers
Ability: Bulletproof
EVs: 252 HP / 80 Def / 176 Spe
Impish Nature
- Taunt
- Spikes
- Drain Punch
- Leech Seed

The idea of this core is to cover Feraligatr's weakness well (electric and grass) and help Gator get to a point where it could sweep late game. Gator is going to have some hp to live at least one thunderbolt from raikou and can ohko/2hko raikou with EQ. I noticed that Gator likes hazards to be up. I paired it up with Chesnaught. Together, they have a good synergy resistance/weakness wise. Chesnaught used as a fast taunter would prevent things like gligar, forry, and other slow SR mons to set up. Leech seed helps widdle down threats to gator. Drain punch gives Chesnaught some reliable recover. For Gator, Life Orb seemed to the best item for it. I would rather have damage output more than HP recovery because Gator is already some what bulky and LO helps it ko things easier. The reason Gator has 29 HP IVS is to lower LO Recoil.

I'd like to see some nice fight spam, specifically

392.png

Infernape (Free Set)

and

448.png

Lucario (Free Set)

These two are just a fun combo that can go any which way. You can rock a lead, mixed, np, or sd on ape and a similar amount of sets on Luc. In general, they're just a cool couple of dudes looking to have a good time and kill some stuff. Not too much to say since both sets are free but good luck to any who uses it!

Entei @ Choice Band
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Sacred Fire
- Extreme Speed
- Stone Edge
- Iron Head

Raikou @ Assault Vest/Expert Belt/Zap Plate
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Volt Switch
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Extrasensory

Suicune @ Life Orb
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpA / 8 SpD
Modest Nature
- Calm Mind
- Scald
- Ice Beam
- Tailwind

You can be flexible with the evs and sets, but I posted them for the general gist of the way the core should generally work. This is my take on the semi popular triple doge core. Basically raikou grabs switch initiative, and pivots into an advantageous switch in. Entei breaks stuff with sacred fire, only losing to bulky waters, which raikou can handle. Suicune set is specific move wise, a LO tailwind set that acts as a surprise late game cleaner after the two other doges have softened up the other team.

Edit: fixed suicune set

id like to see rhyperior be used as well. really underrated mon with a good typing/ability, strong 140 attack, and a great offensive typing in ground rock thats complemented by a diverse movepool. i have no set in particular although seeing banded or maybe double dance could be cool. also as for the core Joltage posted it would be nice to see something like lure sd infernape to draw in and surprise mons like chandelure that could give lucario trouble. running a lure set on either one of them is probably implied however.

OK, this is a fairly simple core that I've considered building around, but never gotten around to. I'd be interested to see what the builders do with it.

entei.gif

Entei @ Choice Band
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Sacred Fire
- Extreme Speed
- (free)
- (free)

sceptile-mega.gif

Sceptile @ Sceptilite
Ability: Overgrow
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Giga Drain
- Dragon Pulse
- Focus Blast
- Substitute

This is fairly simple: CB Entei is a huge threat (especially against offensive teams), since almost nothing wants to switch into Sacred Fire. Unless the opponent has a physically defensive Arcanine or Rotom-H, their only reliable switch is most likely going to be a bulky Water, which usually means an easy switch-in and free Sub for Mega-Sceptile. I went with Sub/Giga Drain Sceptile here because if your goal is to switch in on bulky waters, you need to be able to scout for stray Ice Beams. Also, being able to stall out with Sub against burned foes can help break down bulkier targets.

This core is especially good against offensive teams, since Entei tends to murder offense and Mega-Sceptile's speed puts it above any non-Scarfer not named Mega-Aerodactyl, but it can potentially struggle against bulkier teams who might have multiple switch-ins to Entei and who can shrug off Sceptile's attacks. So, any team built around this core will need to have a way to break through balance and stall teams, and should also have a reliable answer to Mega-Aero.

Alright, I feel kinda crappy for having to say this, but could we get a few more add ons to these cores? I mean aside from the GatrNaught core and Sceptei core the suggestions are either just solo mons or fairly popular cores like LucNape and CeleSharp. I kind of wish I didn't get voted in because I have a few ideas that I'd really like to see guys like Meowikins and King UU have to take on, this is your chance to suggest any mons you've looked at together and thought "there's no way this will work for real though". I mean, even if you can't think of two mons could we get some mons suggested to go with some of the solo mons that got suggested? Someone must have something they like to use with Pangoro or Escavalier, or even a core that they use in RU and NU they'd like to see in UU. This is meant to be the place for cores made from mons we don't already know work really well, can we show that off just a little bit more? I'm not trying to knock some of the suggestions that have been made, but can we get some more variety from the normal mons you'd see in UU?

Edit: Triple gen 2 dog core is sick af

Yeah I definitely agree with this. I feel like this teambuilding workshop should not only help people learn from experienced players how to teambuild and what guys into the minds of more experienced players when teambuilding, but also to show that by using lesser used mons you can still win games, even if they're NU and RU mons. A lot of Pokemon is having a good idea and watching it unfold in a game and I think that idea should be shown firsthand to new players in this competition. I would love if people would nominate some lesser used cores that could still be effective. Don't hesitate to post something that may look weird at first!
