Hey folks,

I've been tooling around for a while on this team based upon a roserade lead. So far so good but there's always room for improvement so I decided to post here. Let me know what you think.

Changes is RED

407Roserade.png

Roserade (M) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 6 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Leaf Storm
- Sleep Powder
- Toxic Spikes

Roserade is the focus of my team and an extremely solid lead. HP fire cover lead foretress, abomasnow and what not. Hippowdons and swaperts are both 1HKO by leaf storm. If I don't have a type advantage I can opt for sleep powder. Focus slash pretty much assures me that I can get at least 1 layer of toxic spikes down before Roserade goes down.

FLY goes to: Magnezone, Vaporeon, Gyarados

FIRE goes to: Vaporeon, Gyarados, Latias

PSY goes to: Metagross, Magnezone

ICE goes to: Vaporeon, Gyarados

Gyarados (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 6 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Dragon Dance
- Earthquake
- Ice Fang
- Waterfall

Gyarados was added to the team next to cover Roserade's fire weakness. He's my immediate switch too, if I'm facing a lead infernape (who's fake out would break my leads focus sash). Because I'm expecting a strong switch in I choose a dragon dance set. Hope fully the fire type that was just smiling at my little roserade will have to switch out giving me at least one dance. Earthquake is on this pokes set to help against metagross who roserade has a bit of trouble with. Waterfull is obvious for the stab and Ice fang gives me better coverage against dragons who my teams a tiny bit weak against.

ROCK goes to: Vaporeon, Gyarados, Metagross

ELECTRIC goes to Magnezone, Roserade

Metagross @ Choice Band
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 252 HP/236 Atk/12 Def/10 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Bullet Punch
- Earthquake
- Explosion
- Meteor Mash

CB metagross works as this teams revenge killer/physical sweeper. Bullet punch can quickly get ride one any poke that's just barely survived any of my other team members. Earthquake lets me hit electrics and tentacuels for a 1HKO. Witch is good since electrics are a danger to my gyarados and tend to hassle Roserade. Meteor mash is a good stab that isn't resisted by many types and explosion helps with pesky walls like blissey.

GROUND goes to: Gyarados, Vaporeon, Latias

FIRE goes to: Vaporeon, Gyarados, Latias

245Suicune.png

Suicune (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: pressure
EVs: 252 HP/252 Def/6 Spd
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Surf
- Calm Mind
- Sleep Talk
- Rest

Suicune was added to help abuse roserade's toxic spikes, something my original line up was missing. So far this poke has working well. Thanks to toxic spork for sugesting it.

GRASS goes to: roserade, gyarados

ELECTRIC goes to Magnezone, Roserade

Latias (F) @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs:
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Calm Mind
- Dragon Pulse
- Surf
- Recover

I'm trying to use Latias as a late game sweeper and I've been having mixed results with it. I theory, I want to get rid of all Latias' counters st I can calm mind a few times, recover and then dragon pulse and surf my way to victory. When I've been ably to accomplish this Latias has been fantastic. When I can't, its dead weight.

DRAGON goes to: Vaporeon, Gyarados

ICE goes to: Vaporeon, Gyarados

462Magnezone.png

Magnezone @ Leftovers
Ability: Magnet Pull
EVs: 172 HP/86 Spd/252 SAtk
Modest nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Magnet Rise
- Substitute
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [ICE]

This team was getting a lot of Steal type switch ins so Steal Killer Magnezone made the team easily. I've switced my last move from t-wave to HP Ice both because several; poeple have suggested it and because when I droped Vaporeon of Suicune I lost access to it's ice beam.

GROUND goes to: Gyarados, Vaporeon, Latias

There's my team as it stands now. Let me know if you can think of any improvements.

Your team looks fine, although I noticed a couple of errors. Firstly, your Vaporeon has too many EVs. Secondly, you haven't listed the Evs for Latias. Here are the recommended EVs:

4hp 252SpAtk 252 Spe.

I think you might be better off running a bulky Gyarados with Bounce, taunt and leftovers. This works well with toxic spikes to beat Celebi and your usual bulky water counters. Bounce to gain lefties recovery, cause more toxic spikes damage, and for a powerful STAB move with great coverage. This set is will also allow it to take attacks better.

Edit: I'm back and I feel as though I should give some more advice, as no-one else seems to be doing so:

On Magnezone, at the moment, you have nothing to hit ground-type (or Volt Absorb/Motor Drive) pokémon with. There is no use easing prediction with a sub if this is what will result. Therefore I think you need HP ice on your magnezone. I would use this over Twave because:

-You have toxic spikes, making it useless vs most grounded non-steels.
-Most of these flyers/levitators and steels can be hit super effectively by tbolt/hpice and/or trapped.

If you really want to keep Twave, use Hp ice over magnet rise, since there is no point trying to beat ground -types without it.

Good luck.

The main body of the team seems good, but I don't know why you use a Roserade lead when you have no tSpikes abusers. You said that you were iffy about the use of Vapoureon, so I'd suggest you use Crocune in his place!

Suicune @Leftovers
252 HP, 252 Def, 4 SpDef, Bold
-Calm Mind
-Rest
-Sleep Talk
-Surf

Ths guy can exploit your toxic spikes, and can be very hard to kill once he's going.

Hope I helped.

As Toxic Spork said, you have no good Toxic Spikes abusers. I would kill of Vaporeon in place of a fun late game sweeper: Empoleon!

395.png

Empoleon @ Petaya Berry
Modest: 24DEF/252SP.ATK/232SPEED
Agility/Substitute/Surf/Ice Beam

This pokemon gives your team many new resistances, such as another Ghost and Dark resistance, which may help your Latias. Empoleon resists all of CB Scizor's moves, which means you can easily bring Empoleon in, and Agility. Bulky water types resist Empoleon's water and ice type moves, so Roserade must get Toxic Spikes down.

With that in mind, Latias will want to consider Grass knot over Surf. This will allow Empoleon to sweep easily, With Grass knot nailing the water types Empoleon hates. True, any steel type completely walls Latias, but that is why you have Magnezone. *hint hint*

Thunderwave is not the best option for Magnezone, Hidden Power Fire/Ice can be a better option. You did not show your Latias's EVs, please do. These are some pretty standard smogon sets thrown around together with other pokemon for a pretty standard team.

Alright, I've tested some of your suggestions and have made a few changes to the team. What do you all think now?
