URSARING NU, I DONT THINK SO

tumblr_lb41479pBW1qcl5duo1_500.jpg

Sup guys. This is a team i made when i was bored and i spent a while thinking about it so its ok in my opinion. i have only lost once with this team so it has been pretty succesfull. I know i have a huge ice weakness with nothing to cover it up so if you could please help me. also i realize i really dont have any good special attackers so you could also leave a comment about that. enough chit chat lets get right to it.

Team Building Process
Ok so i wanted to start off with a spiker for some odd reason and i was think scolipede but i decided to go with the ever so popular nut called forretress.

Then i noticed i was seeing t-tar a lot so i decided why don't i use one. But this one is a bit different then the usual. But ill talk about that later.

BEAR POWER. Then i wanted some pure raw power. So im like bear + power = Ursaring.

I saw other people using Rotom Wash so i decided to give him a try and he worked out very well so that was a nice addition to my team.

i wanted to try out gliscor because i wanted to toxic shit. so i was like lets go gliscor.

then as a last addition i wanted a lati twin. i decided to had latias because i wanted some more defense.

I know this wasent in detail but believe me i will talk about the individual team members in detail below. Also any of these pokes are up for change except t-tar. so thanks.

Now lets get to the juicy details. Double Pictures for double the fun :toast:

Tyranitar_Move_by_Jolx08.jpg

Tyranitar@Choice Scarf
Ability: Sand Stream
Evs: 4 hp, 252 att, 252 speed
Nature: Jolly
Moves:
-Pursuit
-Crunch
-Stone Edge
- Super Power

Ok so this guy basically sets up sand. ya ya ya. Thats what you guys think. But this guy does a lot more for this team and without him i would lose every battle. This poke not only sets up sand but he does give me POWER. This guy is an absolute beast. I have Choice scarf so he can outspeed positive nature base 115 speed opponents such as starmie. i have pursuit to trap psychics notably the lati twins. i have crunch and stone edge for stab. Super power is for coverage. Super power helps with other tyranitar, terrakion, and ferrothorn. DD Tyranitars come in on a poke to try to set up on me . Then i switch out and go to my t tar as they sets up the DD. Then they stays in because they think they are faster as i go for the SUPER POWER as he dieeeeeesssss. Tyranitar obviously helps with terrakion for obvious reasons. Ferrothorn is also taken care of so i don't have to worry about hazards. i do have rapid spin but i don't like wasting a turn using it. Also i can safely bring in rotom wash when ferrothorn is gone because i don't have to worry about power whip. Super Power is replaceable for Eq, but Eq does not hit pokes with air balloons. it can also be switched for aqua tail but super power is more notable over aqua tail.

472Gliscor.png

Gliscor@Toxic Orb
Ability:Poison Heal
Evs: 252 hp, 184 Def, 72 spe
Nature: Impish
Moves:
-Substitute
-Protect
-Ice Fang
-Earthquake

This is probably one of the more annoying pokemon in the game. By switching bewteen subsitute and protect i can effectively stall out pokemon nicely. I can easily stall rotom wash hydro pump easily. i have tyranitar to help out stalling the opponents with gliscor. Gliscor does need team support to succeed so Tyranitar was a key addition in making him succeed. i was considering Toxic but i figure im gonna have toxic spikes on forretress anyways so there is no point. Bronzong and Skarmory are problems for me cause i really have no way of hitting them well. If anybody can suggest a poke to help with my teams ice weakness i would greatly appreciate. the moves are self explanatory but i will quickly go over them. Sub and protect to succesfully stall out opponents. Ice fang is for those dragons that are always floating around in ou. Also for flying types so they have to think twice before switching into me.

479-w.gif
479-wash.png

Rotom-W@Choice Scarf
Ability: Levitate
Evs: 4 hp, 252 spA, 252 Spe
Nature: Timid
Moves:
-Volt Switch
-Trick
- Hydro Pump
-Hidden power (Fire)

This guy is one annoying poke also. it just switches back and forth throughout the game. Volt switch is like a u-turn to scizor. thats how important that move is. I have choice scarf to outspeed because i dont power to much. I have timid to help with speed also. I have trick to basically cripple walls after i know i can outspeed his whole team with other pokes. Hydro Pump is main stab and hits anything hard. Hidden Power Fire is for ferrothorn and other grass and steel types. i am willing to change this into hp ice. with all the switches rotom forces with volt switch, stealth rocks is key. It would be nice to have them on t-tar but i don't want to be locked into it obviously. Also if t-tar had it then they work perfect together because tyranitar can take care of the lati twins which cause trouble to this rotom wash set.

217.gif
ursaring.png

Ursaring@Toxic Orb
Ability: Quick Feet
Evs: 4 hp, 252 att, 252 spe
Nature:Jolly
Moves:
-Facade
-Close Combat
-Swords Dance
-Crunch

HERE WE ARE TO THIS BIG BAD BOY! Ok its ability and its move fit very well together. obviously toxic orb boosts my speed by 50% thanks to quick feet. Then facade power kicks in which is boosted because of my status condition. Swords Dance is to set up on occasional switches. If not i just wreck shit. after stab and base power facade reaches 210 base power. Facade anything that doesn't resist. then close combat rock and steel types. Then Crunch finishes off the ghost types who obviously don't take any damage from facade. i have toxic orb over flame orb because quick feet doesn't negate the attack drop from flame orb. max evs and jolly nature let it out speed 105 base speed pokes. Ursaring likes entry hazard damage as it lets it turn some 2HKO's to OHKO's.

380.gif
380Latias.png

Latias@Leftovers
Ability:Levitate
Evs:252 hp, 4 spA, 252 spe
Nature: Timid
Moves:
-Calm Mind
-Recover
-Dragon Pulse
-Roar

Ok so calm mind so i can set up and recover is to heal. Dragon pulse is my only attack so i really dont have good coverage. that is why i am thinking of putting hp fire over roar. Roar is for racking up the entry hazard which are essential to this team. leftovers is to negate damage from sandstorm. This set focuses on Latias's defenses. Max hp to help with bulk and speed is to outspeed. 4 spA is to get a little boost. but nothing much. Calm mind is to increase my specail attack which is already good. after a couple calm mind this thing is ready to sweep. i usually keep this guy as a last resort for some reason. I usually just sweep at the end with this guy. in one battle i was down 4-1 and i came back on a sweep with latias. i used calm minds while his useless jirachi just stayed in. This guy really is not to essential to the team but is pretty nice addition.

205.gif
205.png

Forretress@Leftovers
Ability:Sturdy
Evs: 252 hp, 176 def, 80 spD
Nature: Relaxed
Moves:
-Toxic Spikes
-Spikes
-Rapid Spin
-Stealth Rocks
This guy is kinda useless besides laying down them HAZARDS. I was thinking of adding volt switch in here but i dont exactly know where. Toxic spikes, spikes and stealth rocks are kinda self explanatory. Toxic spikes is because i don't have toxic on gliscor. Rapid spin is because he is my spinner. Stealth rocks is to get rid of multisclale dragoinite. spikes is just for extra hazard damage. I usually bring this guy in first or after rotom wash depending on the opponents team. Tyranitar easily deal with this guys weaknesses such as heatran, magnezone and chandelure. Shed shell is an option but i dont care about forretress so usually i bring him and use him then let him die so i can safely bring in another poke. and im not that scared of magnezones so it is not a problem for me.

Thanks for reading peeps and remember URSARING NU, I DONT THINK SO. once again i know i have a ice weakness so please help. any poke is replacable in case you were wondering except tyranitar I dont really no what else to say so um thanks in advance.

As badass as Ursaring is I suggest you do not use him on a Sand team. He runs on a clock as it is, Sand Stream will QUICKLY kill you alongside Toxic Orb.

2 turns with Toxic Orb - 18.75% damage
2 turns with TO / Sand - 31.25

HUGE difference and it accumulates in such a short time. Maybe just run a Terrakion who can hit higher speeds, similar power and has better typing to manage the sand.

ok i will edit that right away.

Do you have a suggested moveset for terrakion

Choice Band: CC, Stone Edge, X-Scissor, Earthquake.

I know many people feel that Earthquake is redundant, but seeing as he doesn't have anything decent to choose from in the 4th slot anyway, and EQ hits Jirachi, who's a royal pain in the ass, I see no problem with running it.

CB Terrakion is one of the scariest pokemon in the game. Not even Skarmory is able to safely switch in on a Close Combat. Also the reason I'd choose a choiced Terrakion over a set up one is because Scizor really shits over the set up's party. With this one, as long as you have a good Scizor switch him, he should be extremely effective

I would use Wish over Recover on Latios just to pass them along to your team. It is really helpful. I don't have much else to say about this team if you really want to keep Ursaring.

scizor loves your ttar and latias, and will love killing terrakkion.
If you're looking to use terrakkion may i make a suggestion:

Terrakkion@life orb
jolly nature, justified
252spe/252atk/4hp
-substitute
-close combat
-stone edge
-swords dance/x-scissor

everyone expects the choiced sets so setting up a substitute can surprise scizor on the switch and hit it in the face with a close combat

You're giving up on Ursaring? If he's your favorite mon, I suggest don't. You'll miss the fun of playing in this meta...

Btw, I'll rate later. Just don't give up on Ursaring...

He is not my favorite poke I just felt like using him for a while . Im willing to change anything

If you're struggling for Special Attackers, how about replacing Latias with Latios? Same typing, similar stats and movepool.

Latios @ Expert Belt
Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid
- Draco Meteor
- Psyshock
- Surf/Thunderbolt/HP Fire/Ice Beam
- Surf/Thunderbolt/HP Fire/Ice Beam

Expert belt Latios is pretty awesome and although more people expect it now, it's still rather awesome. First two moves are STAB and the second two are interchangable coverage moves, so go with whichever you think benefits you most.

I don't quite understand why Tyranitar is on this team: with only one sand immunity, and better pokemon who could take TTar's place (I.e. Scizor, Dragonite or Scarfed Terrakion). I would also recommend Scarf Terrakion OR even a Dugtrio to deal with opposing starmie, tyranitar and terrakion. I think that the reversal set would suit you best:

Dugtrio @ Focus Sash
Trait: Arena Trap
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Stone edge
- Reversal
- Sucker Punch

In addition, I would just like to add my two cents in giving my favoure Ursaring set: the Guts wall breaker. However, before we get into that set, i would like to get a look at his partner in crime:
Bronzong @ Leftovers Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 196 Atk / 60 SDef
Sassy Nature (+SDef, -Spd)
- Trick Room
- Stealth Rock
- Gyro Ball
- Earthquake

Bronzong would be my suggestion over forry: access to stealth rock, superior special bulk, some attacking prowess to deal with Magnezone and friends, and a lack of 4x weakness all point towards Zong as your go-to-poke. To be honest, this team doesn't particularly dislike entry hazards with half of the pokemon immune to spikes already, and so Bronzong would only bring benefit to the table.

However, i'm just getting into the most important use of Bronzong: TRICK ROOM. Yes, you heard right, that five turn move that makes slower pokemon faster. This turns an otherwise slow and weaker ursaring into a Beastly and Ultra-Fast POWERHOUSE. Using a Guts set with a - speed nature and a 0 speed IV, Ursaring can, under trick room, outspeed all his usual counters and DESTROY things. a guts CC ravages ferrothorn with 2 layers of spikes, a comfortable OHKO. Further more, if you manage to get a Swords dance in, you are god damn un-stoppable under TR. + 2 Facade now 2HKO's SKARMORY after rocks damage. Tell me you aren't impressed. Unfortunately, it's probably advised in a powerful OU metagame to play it safe and go with Protect over SD, although if you have particularlily fancy prediction pants i think you'll love the challenge of the SD set. Here's the set:

NU?NOWUDIE! (Ursaring) (F) @ Toxic Orb Trait: Guts
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Swords Dance / Protect
- Close Combat
- Facade
- Crunch

Now get out there and give Ursaring the limelight he deserves!

Hey Man I'm sorry but 344 speed just isn't fast enough as I am sure you have found out. The most popular Pokemon in the meta-game all out speed Quick Feet Ursaring unfortunately. This would consist of Terrakion, Latios, Latias, Virizion, Infernape, and even Starmie all pose a threat to Ursaring.

Choice scarf Tyranitar and latias do however help you defeat many threats in OU; although in order to not be countered by the Scizor Rotom Combo I would suggest hidden power fire on latias instead of Calm Mind. Roar would be for forcing out CM virizion, who would do quite a bit of damage to your team.

Ursaring's spot could be taken by another offensive Pokemon such as the ones I list that out speed him. This would allow your team to take out several threats in OU and have a more reliable sweeper, however I do encourage the use of different Pokemon to your liking.

What I'd consider
The thing is about this team is that it has just enough supplies to only handle the usual. For example if your opponent had Scarf Terrakion and Not CB like you thought you could try to use Super power with Tyranitar and ultimately fail. SD LO Scizor seriously bangs up your team after Rotom dies, which is bad considering there is no way for Rotom to recover. Pursuit completely defeats your latias who would commonly switch in on Rotom W which could V switch into Scizor, which is once again why I suggest Hidden power fire.

I'd kind of fool around with changing up Rotom and latias. Jirachi and a bulkier Rotom could prove productive as well. Your team doesn't lose much speed considering you can cripple the opponent with body slam and you still have scarf Tyranitar. Burning Pokemon like Ferrothorn can help Forretress handle Leech Seed Rock helmet Ferro. Fire punch is also an option on sp def Jirachi. I like the ideas that you are trying out in your team however. That's just the direction I would take the team into. Good Luck if it goes bad don't give up just keep switching stuff around.

ok so i have decided to make a new sand team from scratch and take out most of this team. i havent decided who is on the team yet but it will be posted later. anybody seeing this thread feel free to comment on my next thread. BUMP.

What about Baton Pass > Ice Fang on Gliscor? It allows you to scout and switch at opportune moments rather than being forced to switch manually, and you could even get some good pokemon begin the sub, like Latias or Ursaring

Try this set out for a SpA:

Jirachi@Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace duh
EVs: 252 HP/ 4 Def / 252 Spe
IVs: 30 Atk/ 30 Def
Nature: Timid
- Substitute
- Calm Mind
- Thunderbolt
- HP Ice/ Psyshock/ Flash Cannon

The moveset is the obvious SubCM Jirachi which beats the crap out of Special Walls like Blissey with no problem. This little guy can beat the blobs 1v1 trust me. Thunderbolt is for a wide array of damage. This set can also work under perma-rain with Thunder and 60% paralysis chance thanks to the godsend ability Serene Grace. The fourth move is very much up to you. HP Ice for coverage. Psyshock is STAB and if you want to kill the blobs faster but will leave you walled by Ferrothorn and Gliscor. Flash Cannon for STAB if in case you desire another and the SpD drop can come in handy but will leave you walled by a lot. Under perma-rain, you can also go for Water Pulse so you'll get that Para-Fusion hax which is, imo, more annoying that Paraflinch and Physical attackers won't like getting paralyzed and confused.

EDIT: This guy can also come in an Ice-type attack as it resists it and also forms a good synergy with Latias and Gliscor. Both can take Earthquakes all day and Latias can take all Fire-types.
