[OVERVIEW]

* Urshifu-R is one of the most oppressive Pokemon in the game format due to its high Attack stat, powerful Surging Strikes, and Unseen Fist ability, which allows it to completely ignore Protect. Furthermore, its strong matchups against metagame staples Incineroar, Chien-Pao, and Landorus add to its viability.

* Urshifu-R is commonly paired with Tornadus, which provides it with Prankster Tailwind support, allowing it to outspeed the entire unboosted metagame; Tornadus also beats Urshifu-R's few checks, such as Ogerpon-W and Amoonguss. Chien-Pao is another common partner, decreasing foes' Defense with Sword of Ruin and checking Amoonguss and Tornadus; Urshifu-R, in return, helps Chien-Pao beat its checks such Entei and as the ubiquitous Incineroar. Incineroar and Rillaboom also make for excellent partners for Urshifu-R, as the trio forms a fundamentally strong Fire-Water-Grass Fire / Water / Grass core, covering each other's weaknesses.

* Urshifu-R is a great beneficiary of Terastallization, as Tera Water-boosted Surging Strikes can OHKO or 2HKO almost the entire metagame.

* Due to all of its strong points, Urshifu-R always has a big target on its back, notably being checked by Pokemon such as Rocky Helmet Amoonguss and Speed Booster Energy Flutter Mane, which is commonly utilized on Tailwind teams, as it can outspeed and OHKO Urshifu-R if it does not Terastallize. Raging Bolt and Rillaboom also immensely pressure Urshifu-R with their priority moves in Thunderclap and Grassy Glide, the former of which may even OHKO Urshifu-R depending on Raging Bolt's Special Attack investment. Rillaboom can also disrupt Urshifu-R and its teammates with Fake Out. Iron Hands comfortably takes even Tera Water-boosted Surging Strikes and can potentially OHKO Urshifu-R back with Wild Charge, so players should be careful to position Urshifu-R into safe and advantageous situations.

[OVERVIEW]

* Urshifu-R is one of the most oppressive Pokemon in the game due to its high Attack stat in conjunction with its powerful signature move in Surging Strikes and great Ability, Unseen Fist which allows it to completely negate any defensive plays which utilize Protect. (Note some good matchups here)

* It is commonly paired with Tornadus which provides it with Prankster Tailwind allowing it to outspeed the entire unboosted metagame and also beats Urshifu-R's few checks such as Ogerpon-W and Amoonguss. Chien-Pao is another common partner as it has excellent synergy with Urshifu-R, decreasing foes' Defense stats with Sword of Ruin and checking Amoonguss and Tornadus while Urshifu-R, in return, helps Chien-Pao beat its checks such as the ubiquitous Incineroar and Entei which has not Terastallized. (Seems a bit obvious, majority of Pokemon flip weaknesses with Terastalisation)

* Urshifu-R is a great beneficiary of the Terastallization phenomenon as a Water Tera-boosted Surging Strikes can OHKO or 2HKO almost the entire metagame.

* Due to all of its strong points, Urshifu-R always has a big target on its back, notably from Pokemon such as Rocky Helmet Amoonguss and Speed-boosting Booster Energy Flutter Mane which is commonly utilized on Whimsicott Tailwind teams as it can outspeed and OHKO Urshifu-R if it does not Terastallize. Iron Hands can also comfortably take even Water Tera-boosted Surging Strikes and potentially OHKO Urshifu-R back with Wild Charge, so players should be careful to position Urshifu-R into safe and advantageous spots. (Being an answer 50% of the time is a bit worrying, not going to deny Iron Hands is good into it but Rillaboom or Raging Bolt should come first)

(More of a QC thing but I want to highlight that as someone who doesn't play VGC this bullet point tells me nothing about why Urshifu-R is actually good in the current meta beyond basic dex info, which defeats the point of an analysis. Note that the feedback Leo posted above about including matchups here was seemingly ignored so I would consider adding that at least)
