counter. gurdurr can flex on lycanroc by taking like 58% max from +2 splintered stormshards and using bulk up on a forced switch. drain punch gets clicked against +4 and you get like half the damage you took back.

Mudsdale is a full on counter to Lycanroc, eating up any hit, even a boosted Splintered Stormshards, and can even lessen the blow with Protect, while obviously also smacking Lycanroc with one Earthquake in retaliation.

Quagsire @ Leftovers

Quagsire is a straight up counter to Lycanroc. Lycanroc can SD up for days and would still only do 34% max with Stormshards which Quag can just Recover with ease thanks to Unaware.
252 Atk Lycanroc Splintered Stormshards vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Quagsire: 114-134 (28.9 - 34%) -- 99% chance to 4HKO after Leftovers recovery
Drill Run and Sucker don't do any better so yeah, Lycanroc easily goes down to Scald or EQ. The latter of which has a good chance to OHKO.

Granbull functions as an effective check to Lycanroc with both Intimidate which allows it to take a Splintered Stormshards and Earthquake for the guaranteed OHKO. Also if Lycanroc ran Iron Head over Drill Run for whatever reason it would still only do like 40% max at -1.

Scarf Kabu is definitely a solid check to Lycanroc, being able to outspeed it and OHKO it with a Liquidation. Even at +2 Attack, Lycanroc doesn't threaten Kabu unless it is below 60% HP with Sucker Punch so in most cases, as long as Kabutops remains healthy, it can take Lycanroc out.

Poliwrath (M) @ Leftovers

Poliwrath acts as a hard check. It can come into any lycanroc attack, it can tank a +2 Splintered Stormshards, it can phase lycanroc for more chip damage on the opposing lycanroc's teammates if rocks or spikes are on the field or straight up kill it and it can rest after damage. After Splintered Stormshards, it doesn't die to a +2 stone edge and can heal up.

Let's take the worst case scenario, you get the max roll. 65.1 - 6 (lefties) = 59.1 + 34.3 = 93.4. So, even if you have rocks on the field and you come into lycanroc, you can eat a +2 Lycanium z and smash it with scald or phase it.
Golurk @ Colbur Berry

Golurk as a check for Lycanroc. Watch out because Golurk gets OHKOed by a +2 Splintered Stormshards so you’ll have to play much more intelligently with your Golurk against Lycanroc. If you play it correctly however, you annihilate Lycanroc with an EQ.
Persian-Alola @ Darkinium Z
Ability: Fur Coat

A solid check to Lycanroc. Alolan-Persian can come in as Lycanroc set-ups and bop it with Foul Play at +2 since you tank Sucker Punch/Accelerock easily. If weakened and unable to switch in directly in fear of an attack, it can still revenge kill it.

Shuca Berry Aggron makes for a good check, tanking a Drill Run and hitting back with a Heavy Slam. Even when boosted Aggron still takes a Drill Run fairly safely.
