Aurorus @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Snow Warning
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Blizzard
- Freeze-Dry
- Earth Power
- Hidden Power Rock

Aurorus a check to alolan eggy. Although it can’t switch in to eggys attacks, Aurorus, having Snow Warning, can easily OHKO the eggy with a 100% accuracy Blizzard as a sort of revenge kill.

Calcs

252 SpA Aurorus Blizzard vs. 248 HP / 8 SpD Exeggutor-Alola: 744-880 (189.3 - 223.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO

252 SpA Aurorus Freeze-Dry vs. 248 HP / 8 SpD Exeggutor-Alola: 472-564 (120.1 - 143.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Crabominable @ Assault Vest
Ability: Iron Fist
EVs: 240 HP / 16 Atk / 252 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Drain Punch
- Ice Hammer
- Stone Edge
- Thunder Punch

Assault Vest Crabominable is a counter to OTR Alolan Eggy. It eats up Z-Draco Meteor or LO Dracos and easily OHKOs in return with Ice Hammer.

Muk @ Black Sludge
Ability: Sticky Hold
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Curse
- Poison Jab
- Rest
- Sleep Talk

Submitting Muk as a counter. Comes into any Eggy attack, takes like 10% max from anything that isn't Draco Meteor, which it takes like 40% max from. After the Sp. Atk drop Muk is free to set up on Eggy, stalling out the Trick Room. Can instead 2HKO off the bat with Poison Jab.

Bouffalant @ Leftovers
Ability: Sap Sipper
EVs: 178 HP / 252 Atk / 78 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Substitute
- Swords Dance/Megahorn
- Return
- Earthquake

Honestly one of the most underrated PU mons in the meta at the moment. Submitting it as an offensive check but depending on how well you play it and how poorly your opponent does this could be used as a hard counter. If you sub on the anticipated grass move or Trick Room you can confidently 2HKO them even in trick room if they don't waste their Z-move.

Calcs

+1 252+ Atk Bouffalant Return vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Exeggutor-Alola: 280-330 (71.2 - 83.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

+1 252+ Atk Bouffalant Megahorn vs. 248 HP / 0 Def Exeggutor-Alola: 438-516 (111.4 - 131.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO

252+ SpA Exeggutor-Alola Draco Meteor vs. 178 HP / 0 SpD Bouffalant: 237-280 (63.2 - 74.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

252+ SpA Life Orb Exeggutor-Alola Draco Meteor vs. 178 HP / 0 SpD Bouffalant: 308-364 (82.1 - 97%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

Sandslash-Alola @ Leftovers
Ability: Slush Rush
EVs: 252 HP / 208 SpD / 48 Spe
Careful Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Stealth Rock
- Icicle Crash
- Earthquake

Alolan Sandslash as a check against neccboy. This mons is a lot more solid vs the specs set but it still can come in once Trick Room is over or if the Eggy predicts incorrectly if you’re all about risky plays. Obviously Icicle Crash guarantees the OHKO and the SpDef set minimizes the damage taken from eggy’s STABs.

Darkinium

the mighty nuaguunibi

Type: Null @ Eviolite
Ability: Battle Armor
EVs: 252 HP / 8 Def / 248 SpD
Careful Nature
- U-turn
- Return
- Rest
- Sleep Talk

Counter, tanks a Devastating Drake + Draco Meteor even after SR, and Rests it off.

Checks:

Oathkeepre's Articuno

StickingGum's Abomasnow

PhantomHurious's Aurorus

Jmash324's Crabominable

BackAtYouBro's Alolan Sandslash

Counters:

Guwahavel's Clefairy

Sir Pin's Muk

Darkinium's Type: Null

(Articuno and Crabominable were originally submitted as counters, but the former is KOed by a Devastating Drake after SR, and Crabominable struggles with DD + Draco + SR as well. Bouffalant was not included due to it not being ranked in the VR.)

Vote for 2 checks and 2 counters by Sunday!

Checks: Crabominable, Alolan Sandslash
Counter: Clefairy, Muk

Mudsdale @ Leftovers
Ability: Stamina
EVs: 252 HP / 56 Atk / 44 Def / 156 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Toxic
- Protect

Mudsdale is a counter. It can tank everything Aggron throws at it at least twice while also receiving a defense boost, making it harder for Aggron to break through it while Earthquake OHKOes Aggron.

Quagsire @ Leftovers
Ability: Unaware
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Relaxed Nature
- Scald
- Earthquake
- Toxic
- Recover

Quagsire as a Counter, resists Aggron's STABs and doesnt mind other moves thanks to good physical bulk, and can stay consistently healthy with Recover. It also threatens Aggron with both of its STABs.

252+ Atk Choice Band Aggron Head Smash vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Quagsire: 144-169 (36.5 - 42.8%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
252+ Atk Choice Band Aggron Earthquake vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Quagsire: 128-151 (32.4 - 38.3%) -- 49.1% chance to 3HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

0 SpA Quagsire Scald vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Aggron: 186-218 (66.1 - 77.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
0 Atk Quagsire Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Aggron: 228-268 (81.1 - 95.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

Primeape @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Gunk Shot
- Stone Edge
- U-turn

Primeape is a check. It obviously can’t switch into any of Aggrons attacks but can easily revenge kill it with a STAB 4x effective Close Combat.

Poliwrath @ Leftovers
Ability: Water Absorb
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Relaxed Nature
- Scald
- Circle Throw
- Rest
- Sleep Talk

Defensive Poliwrath is a counter, eating up every hit with its typing and bulk, while threatening with a STAB move. It also has Rest and Leftovers for recovery so yay.

Gurdurr @ Eviolite
Ability: Guts
EVs: 252 HP / 192 Atk / 64 Def
Adamant Nature
- Drain Punch
- Mach Punch
- Knock Off
- Bulk Up

Offensive check. Gurdurr easily comes in on Head Smash and and practically OHKOs right back with Drain Punch:

192+ Atk Gurdurr Drain Punch vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Aggron: 268-316 (95.3 - 112.4%) -- 62.5% chance to OHKO

If it doesn't OHKO, priority Mach Punch will finish it off. Gurdurr cannot take 2 Heavy Slams though!

Bronzor @ Eviolite
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Psywave
- Toxic
- Stealth Rock
- Rest

Lets drop something fun again here and not too often seen. Bronzor hard counters banded aggron and can use it as SR set up or toxic the switch and scouting for moves. Rest let it keep tanking hits like a champ and psywave lets u chip either Aggron or something ur opponent brings in (pls dont be skunk, pls dont be skunk, pls dont be skunk).

Lets make bronzor gr8 again!

Here is the calcs for Aggrons hits:

Superpower 32 - 37.7%
Head Smash 29.5 - 34.9%
Heavy Slam 23.8 - 28.3%
Ice Punch 9.7 - 11.6%
Earthquake 0%
