Specs Drampa Bulky Offense by LordST
:drampa::jellicent::silvally-poison::rotom-frost::mudsdale::simisear:
This is a fairly straight forward team that has a few adaptions to some of the meta developments over last PUPL. A standard Jelli Muds core to cover your Fighting/Normal/Fires with Rindo Jelli there to eat Grass Knots from Simisear as well as Grass STABs from Torterra and Leafeon in order to get a Wisp off. Poisonvally covers Leafeon and Victreebel and gives you useful utility in a pivot move, absorbing tspikes for your defensive core, and hazard control. Multi Attack is used in place of the standard (probably shouldnt be standard anymore) Toxic or Poison Fang in order to actually check SD Fairyvally and CM Clefairy. Scarf Frostom is the Freeze Dry resist and Ground immune as well as the necessary Oricorio check. Specs Drampa and Z Fire Simisear form an incredibly potent offensive core that can easily take advantage of any passive mons such as Cryo, Bronzor, Clef, etc. Protect is a very useful tech on Simisear to protect from Kanga Fake Out and to scout vs scarf revenge killers such as Primeape or Snowslash. This team plays very simply and I believe is an accurate representation of where the meta is after last PUPL. It can struggle a bit vs Psychics, some less common offensive waters, and some flying types, but there are outs vs anything.

Triple U-turn Offense by Leni
:drampa::oricorio-sensu::primeape::silvally-fairy::regirock::simisear:
Super simple offense built around triple u-turn core having access of gaining the momentum and allowing you to bring in the special breakers.
Nothing too fancy - nothing too much. From t1 you are capable of forcing your opponent out with sensu and primeape - depending what you prefer leading after seeing opponents team. Timid drampa lets you outspeed adamant crabominable and slowers like defensive jellicents. Simisear plays the faster secondary special atk breaker role and its Grassium Z allows it to touch lanturn, jellicent and carbink way better.
Standard regirock for rocks with slight investment on spdef side to help out the team overall. Silvally Fairy and Sensu regains the lost momentum after drampa dropping a draco and oppo's mon without problem - also these two keeps the average speed tiering in control very well. Standard scarf primeape works as a late game cleaner with its respective close combat stab. Ape lets you spam u-turn as well and keeps the u-turn loop up.
The team has access to change stuff around whenever you feel comfy enough with it. The sixth slot aka. secondary breaker slot can be changed around to test your own mons without problem. This squad has saw the latest big tournaments (snake, circuit, seasonal etc.) with good success and including the modified 6th slot changes.

Grass Spam by MZ
:mudsdale::eelektross::skuntank::jellicent::victreebel::leafeon:
This is a fairly straightforward team centered around pivoting and breaking with Victreebel before cleaning up with Leafeon. Mudsdale+Eelektross+Jelllicent is as standard of a defensive core as they come with a bit of Pursuit on there to help out with certain rare threats like Haunter. Techs such as Close Combat Mudsdale and specially defensive Eelektross also make matchups such as Ferroseed and Abomasnow a bit more workable.

Choice Band Torterra+Waterium Jellicent by Estarossa
:torterra::oricorio-pom-pom::bronzor::jellicent::primeape::altaria:

The following teams are old and generally considered less than optimal in the current metagame but are nevertheless legal to use in SM PU.

Altaria-Torterra Balance by Ktütverde
:torterra::jellicent::primeape::altaria::sandslash-alola::eelektross:
The squad is generic enough to showcase metagame staples and at the same time hasn't been used by anyone else because I added some unexpected "spicy" mons like CB Primeape, physical Eel and Bulky Z-Move Altaria. This particular team is designed to make up for the lack of representation of toptiers such as: Eelektross, Defensive Jellicent, Choice Scarf Sandslash-Alola and Primeape. Whereas Altaria -although not an amazing mon in itself- is one of the best "niche" glue thanks to its ability to take on both torterra and simisear as well as Victreebel to a lesser extent (and provide defog support+several key resistances like fighting and grass). So here is this quite generic team where I simply put together great mons sharing great synergy and providing enough redundancy to be easy to pilot by anyone willing to learn gen7 PU.

Absol + Victreebel Bulky Offense by Specs
:absol::lanturn::victreebel::regirock::primeape::silvally-fairy:
Volt-Turn with some of the strongest breakers the tier has to offer in CB Absol and Z-Victreebel. Very straight forward to play, get them in as much as possible. Regirock, Lanturn, and Silvally-Fairy defend against most of the meta, Primeape forces out a lot and allows you to get in your breakers more often. Some threats to the build are opposing Victrebel's and Simisear though they aren't unplayable with good positioning via consistent offensive pressure. This isn't the most consistent team ever, but it's effective and has had success with new players. Enjoy!

While I'm on a SM kick, sharing more teams I think are good. Some old that have been used in tours before, some newer that I think are decent vs the meta.

This one is one of my favs, it's very easy to use and the type synergy is strong. Throh is a really good blanket check and general annoyance to the things that usually defeat Hail. Dual Z-move is good, ignore the haters!

The SM Samples team doens't have a Carracosta balance team so I thought this would be a good example bc I think it's a very threatening mon with the right support. For example, Spikes from Roselia getting chip on Scarf Ape. Absol having Wisp here is crucial bc it can cripple Muds/Regi for easy setup.

This team is just really defensively fat... Lanturn Tangela and Bronzor all completely wall certain popular mons. Silv-P and Persian provide excellent pivoting with Lanturn, and LO Chan is the perfect offensive breaker to round out all your bad matchups.

Basic concept here, setup spikes with Qwilfish and go to town with your powerful breakers and priority users. You can rebuild this type of team a milion times and not go wrong.

I haven't really used this, but CB Ape is fun. Especially when Drampa and Eelektross are absolutely feasting on all its checks. You will need to watch out for opposing Ape on here.

Raichu again. This one is just a very solid Spikes team with a specially invested Taunt Jelli as the core piece. Pivots and Kangaskhan for taking advantage of Spikes chip. Regirock Jelli Rose form a nice defensive core, but watch out for Psychics.

I'm pretty disappointed with myself after PUPL and SMPL, and don't see myself playing much of this gen in the near future, so, i suppose a team dump is in order. More of a builder share than a team dump, as i want to put out my older teams too. I'll filter out the ones that i don't think are any good, but no promises. Not going to write lengthy description, with some teams i just don't know what to say at all..

Tested fine, but I flopped in the tour game. A cheeky sweeper spam aimed at Primeape- reliant teams, though the cat can lure the other Fighting types that check Carracosta/Turtonator too.

1785714021533.png

Yeah well it's all the good mons, and it's not like they don't synergize either - they do synergize pretty well actually, at least offensively. Just a thoroughly unexciting standard, i don't like this structure anymore but it can still work, why not.

1785707965080.png

It's fine in other matchups though... A volt-turn with SD Dragonvally and Sub-Hypnosis Haunter.

More of an Exeggutor + Rain Dance Swanna idea, really. Gurdurr is a good Primeape resist, but now in 2026 i'd not bother with Bulk Up at all and just make it Drain/Mach/Knock/Toxic.

https://pokepast.es/3db460bd55a58305
1785787220672.png

Gurdurr is a fighting resist, but if you're not able to catch Primeape with the obvious Chople, then this is kind of pushing it, i admit.

Seems ass if i'm being honest, but i've already made the screenshot and everything. Maybe with a regular BU Gurdurr it would make more sense?

I'm not too into Golurk mostly because it feels to me like a bit of a bad luck charm, whether I am the one using it or my opponent. Now that obviously is a problem of me struggling to build/play with it, but.. it's a bit fun that i ended up losing to a last-minute crit in a finals game using the mon i'm a bit superstitious about - and even more fun it yet again was my fault as there was a safe win path. The team seems fine though, it's a straightforward deal damage until you clean with simi/shiftry type of deal. I find Lum better for the Jellicent matchup, but can try out Black Glasses on Shiftry for a more realistic possibility of chipping down opposing Primeape to +2 Sucker range.

1785753432471.png

It's difficult to play against Absol, but other than that? It's a solid one, one of my favourites. Muk is kind of underappreciated as a special sponge.

1785706571767.png

Wear down physical checks for a dragonvally/primeape sweep. Has Rest Kangaskhan on it, mostly because i've been wanting to try it forever, but perhaps a regular subtox would do.

This was a real pain to build! I wanted to do like that esta-style bastiodon vic wishiwashi thing for a change of pace, except making it so that it doesn't fold to ferroseed, or simisear or whatever. Probopass is NOT there to trap Ferroseed, it's just a special wall/vally check/rocks setter/momentum provider, that also doesn't do badly against ferro if it's in front of him. I like the Crabominable version the most, it's a breaker that can do a lot of progress with all the momentum and it plays well in practice, but Achu or even Jynx may be better on paper, as the team is really too slow.

https://pokepast.es/c09718fdaf8fbb4e
1785754018307.png

Okay, this one i really like. The initial idea was to use both AV Drampa and AV Crabominable with more offensive sets, so that both work as the dangerous wallbreakers they are without being hampered by defensive EV spreads, but they still have defensive responsibilities split between the two and rest of the team. It's the type of team i imagine as a proper "bulky offense" - every mon has some defensive utility, but also applies quite a bit of offensive pressure. Aqua Tail on Qwil has a noticeable power jump over Liquidation when Z-boosted - 81% chance to OHKO Muds was the main specific reason.

https://pokepast.es/ec5e72b1245541d2
1785755483346.png

A solid team with banded Stoutland and some pivots, i won a couple of games with it, would bring again.

https://pokepast.es/a26f202b7d8e2e57
1785713327765.png

This is a fun one, i enjoy it. Some tools aimed at the stuff that keeps Costa/Vally from sweeping, you've got the helmet Muk to chip ape, some fire punches to do just a bit more damage to Ferro than it would like to, a nasty Eggy set that if you don't catch something with Custap Berry, you at least put something to sleep- and suddenly that skunk's out and your cat is a threat? Lots of ways to make things happen here with a decent defensive backbone.

https://pokepast.es/a292a9b88c3f7f99
1785754846541.png

Scarf Primeape + Band Faticate + some general BO stuff. Banded rat has some crazy calcs, like OHKOing Eelektross, or Silvally-Fairy, so ideally it can pave the way for ape by smashing physical sponges and fairy-types, pursuit-trapping ghosts and whatnot.

https://pokepast.es/0417cba1c6e25e8e
1785707804999.png

A simple bulky offense - SD Shiftry and Silvally-Dragon with some other damage dealers.

https://pokepast.es/f3600b9b4e4bc37d
1785708746103.png

A straightforward balance. Two momentum providers, a choiced breaker, a setup sweeper and scarfed ape.

https://pokepast.es/9c9a0785039884ee
1785708771720.png

Mostly aimed at facilitating a Silvally-Fairy sweep. It's a good Z-Memento recipient. The elephant in the room is a pretty dangerous offensive threat, besides checking Simi/Vic/Primeape. Now i know i'm supposed to use it in ORAS, so i'm not gonna pretend lampent is viable, but hey, if you're feeling quirky it's not too bad..

https://pokepast.es/38a50d5c3e8e9ffe
1785752224003.png

Ye olde cleftange balance with banded Stout. Skunk and Dragonium Altaria are not very gen6, but that set is legit better defensively than the "defensive" one that's not able to properly threaten anything it's supposed to switch into.

1785752869855.png

Roselia kangaspikes. You should be able to tank a Draco from Specs Drampa w/ Mudsdale and CC back to a health level where everything else outspeeds and KOs it.

Heal your team with Audino, get Eggy in and dish out heavy hits. Strong Pursuit trappers can really screw you over though.

1785768571831.png

Waterium-Z Cryogonal can surprise Rock and Fire types like Aggron, Simi, Regirock, helping out your SD Fairyvally and Scarf Dodrio. U-turn Silvally to bring Eggy in against physdef walls and smash - plus if they have Skuntank they might let it take 80% from eggy's Leaf Storm, greatly helping out your cleaners that don't wanna deal with all the chip damage.

Hail core with Shiinotic and NP 3atks Simisear. I think there's not much of a downside going salac berry when your Z-move is elsewhere, you can often activate it by switching on rocks.

https://pokepast.es/a2bd7240db88740c
1785776903964.png

Hail core with Torterra and Work Up Fairyvally.

https://pokepast.es/d960d2990d64fe1e
1785777043232.png

This one's not even fat honestly - audino vally gurdurr? Eh. Aurorus here is a offensive rocks setter with Icy Rock, to give the snowslash more turns to work, makes Substitute more viable. Sub is something that people don't really expect, it's sometimes just a safe option but it can catch people off guard- if you're against Wisp Jellicent for example.

https://pokepast.es/b87bad084724bd10
1785776972300.png

Altaria cleftang + hail core + kanga. Altaria makes opposing hail a bit less of a pain, but it's still not a great MU. The Pecha berry is like an extra turn against Muds/Regi, think of it this way.

https://pokepast.es/b019b6363298e9c7
1785776532685.png

Fat hail with Ferroclef and Sableye. Old, but not necessarily bad? This is the original version of the team, but i've seen this with like, specs Drampa for more immediate damage.

https://pokepast.es/f0952e5a12bc501b
1785777028028.png

You should be able to overwhelm fat water types with Gorebyss and Snowslash. Sub-Focus Punch Aboma is pretty known at this point, so you probably aren't luring much, but it's an annoyance even if you expect the set.

https://pokepast.es/3516d19fd67b4e92
1785708323859.png

Webs, but with a scarf Dodrio as a better safety net and Taunt Primeape, who is quite handy in a lot of situations. Most often it prevents hazards going up.

https://pokepast.es/e08f50aedbd88a88
1785753103111.png

A classic stall. It works fine. You get destroyed by Sawsbuck, but it's difficult to cover every niche stallbreaker.

https://pokepast.es/3c1846458f1ccd22
1785766518676.png

Hah, remember scarf snowslash? I can see some set improvements that could be made, but maybe it still holds up, i wouldn't know.

https://pokepast.es/cec1b4ee79db9fac
1785777312591.png

Ghosts are not that easy to pursuit-trap so it seems i just went the lure/poison golurk/jelli way and didn't bother trying to fit Skuntank for Haunter. Grassium Primeape isn't as good now in Rindo Berry Jellicent days, but it's not a *bad* set either.
