Welcome to Smogon! Take a moment to read the Introduction to Smogon for a run-down on everything Smogon, and make sure you take some time to read the global rules.
Congratulations to Finchinator for winning Round 12!
Going on a week hiatus this week because schools is hella stressful, and I just need some time to get back on my feet and not worry about things like this lmfao. Sorry guys, we'll be back next week though!
Team based around metronome vikavolt,a good wallbreaker that can setup on a lot of stuff, especially steelix before it uses toxic thanks to totem's weight.Slowking can sponge rock specials hits that vikavolt fears like delphox's fire blast and diancie's uninvested power gem.Rhydon provides stealth rocks and weakens incineroar.Vileplume checks heliolisk, comfey, grass types and makes vikavolt's wallbreaking easier thanks to sleep powder support.Alolan-Raticate is the decidueye answer(also provides enough speed control to outspeed aerodactyl) .Finally steelvally switchs on vanilluxe and provides free switch to vikavolt.

cba to do the fancy pokemon sprite stuff lol
this team is literally standard.team archetype of steelix + bro + xatu + pass + incin
but there's a sub metronome vika
it's p easy to get a sub up since vika forces hella switches and you also have passimian and xatu to bring it in so the team isnt lacking momentum with non-volt switch vikavolt
the evs on it are just to maximize spatk and creep vaporeon. theres prob a better spread but \o/
also wisp incin helps against stuff like rhydon that may try to break vika sub
Vikavolt takes advantage of Slowbro and Torterra very well which made me want to use double dance Rhydon, also it's something i've missed using since the ORAS days. There's many reasons why DD Rhydon is not used as much anymore, but this team helps support it enough to where I think it's viable. I went with pivot Incineroar to create a volt-turn core, it also switches into Delphox which Rhydon cannot if it's not scarf. I chose Druddigon as the rocker because I didn't want Diancie or Torterra due to stacking weaknesses with rhydon, and Druddigon works better because it has priority Sucker Punch which this team needs because it's pretty slow. Sceptile is great for swiching into Scalds, it also tests Vileplume switch-ins to see if they're spdef, and if they are Rhydon can SD and OHKO Vileplume. Garbodor is a more reliable Passimian switch-in than Vikavolt. Spikes lets Rhydon sweep easier, eases Sucker Punch prediction, and wears down Sceptile's switch-ins.

A fairly standard overall structure worked around Sceptile or Vikavolt doing well. The two wear down a lot of the same things and Toxic+Protect Hariyama also does this for them in a sense. This build does especially well against bulkier teams with Metrenome on Vikavolt and the SD Incineroar set, but it is far from passive against more standardized structures. Substitute on Vikavolt is especially helpful here as opposing Vileplume with Sleep Powder is quite annoying to this team, but besides that and a few stray things not much strikes me as consistently problematic.
Congratulations to Rabia for winning round 13! Round 14: Togedemaru
I think Togedemaru is one of my favorite Heliolisk checks, and is pretty decent outside of that, so I thought it would be interesting to see people build teams with it. Deadline is (10 / 4 / 18)
Have fun !
