UU UU - Choice Scarf Mienshao [GP: 1/1]

:ss/mienshao:
Mienshao @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Knock Off
- U-turn
- Toxic / Stone Edge

After the chaos that was Gen 8 UU last month, Mienshao has arisen as a great Choice Scarf user with the ability to check the likes of Lycanroc-D and Terrakion. Its ability in Regenerator and access to U-turn allows it to pivot out of bad matchups, along with making it difficult to wear down. Knock Off allows Mienshao to further punish its switch-ins like Skarmory, Galarian Weezing, and Slowking. The choice between Toxic and Stone Edge depends on whether you'd like to put Pokemon such as Palossand and Slowking on a timer, or revenge kill the likes of Scyther, Noivern, and Talonflame. Pokemon such as Tyranitar and Jirachi make great partners, as they can also double as Stealth Rock support that can wear down the likes of Skarmory and Slowking to help Mienshao clean late-game. Mienshao's U-turn is also appreciated by the likes of Kyurem, Obstagoon, and Toxtricity, all of which prey on switch-ins such as the aforementioned Skarmory and Slowking.

After the chaos that was Gen 8 UU last month, Mienshao has arisen as a great Choice Scarfer and Pivot in the metagame with its Regenerator U-Turns. Its worth commenting that Regenerator gives Mienshao a lot of longevity as a Choice Scarf user, making it very difficult to wear down with entry hazards and chip damage, which is vital in checking Pokemon like SD Lycanroc-D. Close Combat is the obvious STAB move of choice, pressuring the likes of Lycanroc-Dusk and Terrakion with not that bad of a drawback. To save space I think you can probably just cut what CC does, and instead merge it checking Lycan/Rak into the first paragraph to be a little more specific about why Mienshao is so good. Knock Off is a great coverage and utility move to hit Pokemon that resist Close Combat such as Palossand and Slowing, along with crippling Pokemon such as Skarmory and Rotom-Wash by decreasing their longevity. you never really bring Washtom in on a Shao honestly, no matter what they click its pretty punishing. Crippling Slowking by removing Boots is also a pretty huge part of it, otherwise you usually prefer to just U-turn on it. U-Turn is that quintessential pivoting move getting Mienshao out of bad matchups with momentum, along with synergizing quite well with Regenerator, allowing it to heal a little health while it switches. Just cut this bit and merge it up into the beginning where you talk about Regen U-turns. The choice between Toxic and Stone Edge depends on whether you'd like to put Pokemon such as Sylveon Palossand and Slowking are better examples on a timer, or Revenge Kill the likes of Scyther, Noivern and Talonflame. One of Mienshao's biggest downsides is its frailty, which makes Bulky Pokemon such as Tyranitar and Jirachi great partners, as they can also Double as Stealth Rock support that can help Mienshao clean late-game. If choosing to bring these two up as Rock setting teammates, you should talk about their ability to wear down checks like Skarmory and Slowking for Shao too.

Add a mention of some offensive teammates that appreciate Shao's U-turn support, some examples you can go with include Kyurem, Obstagoon, and Toxtricity.
I realise you will likely be over the character limit after implementing this so tag me again after and I'll look into cutting down a bit more.

Close Combat is the obvious STAB move of choice, pressuring the likes of Lycanroc-D and Terrakion with not that bad of a drawback. cut this bit and just say that as a scarfer it handles mons like this in first line. Knock Off is a great coverage and utility move to hit Pokemon that resist Close Combat such as Palossand along with crippling Pokemon such as Skarmory and Slowing by decreasing their longevity. You can cut this whole sentence and just say that Knock Off allows Mienshao to further punish its switch ins like Skarmory, Galarian Weezing, and Slowking. Decreasing their longevity isn't really true for Skarmory either since you are instead removing its helmet and making U-turn more free to spam for you. The choice between Toxic and Stone Edge depends on whether you'd like to put Pokemon such as Palossand and Slowking on a timer, or Revenge Kill the likes of Scyther, Noivern, and Talonflame. One of Mienshao's biggest downsides is its frailty, which makes Bulky Pokemon such as Tyranitar and Jirachi great partners, as they can also Double as Stealth Rock support that can wear down the likes of Skarmory and Slowking to help Mienshao clean late-game. Its true that Mienshao is frail but the issue with this is that it can't really switch into the stuff it wants to check, so i'd rephrase these mentions to just say how they can help check some stuff like Noivern for it, and duble up as rockers. Mienshao's U-Turn is also appreciated by the likes of Kyurem, Obstagoon, and Toxtricity, who prey on switchins such as the aforementioned Skarmory and Slowking.
Estronic asked that I make sure this reads less like an analysis in this check. Content is fine so will focus on this. QC 1/1.
