Nihi is super meta and nice, Hydreigon is something I’ve been meaning to build with more, Mandi is kind of okay and fits on fat balances I like

Aegislash has great chemistry with Hydriegon. Aegi takes out Fairy and Fighting types for Drei while Drei takes care of opposing Aegislash for Aegi. Went with a physical set here since Drei is already a powerful special attacker.

Tapu Bulu makes for an excellent partner for Hydreigon thanks to its typing and defensive utility, being able to check Pokémon that usually threaten it out like Mienshao, Conkeldurr and Azumarill. In return, Hydreigon can offensively handle the likes of Salamence and Aegislash for it. Since stacking darks is usually not a good idea, Zarude wasn’t chosen plus Tapu Bulu helps us start to form a solid Dragon/Fairy/Steel core!

Nihilego helps LO hydreigon by getting rid of pesky fairies such as togekiss, and primarina, can help wear down the opponents with knock off and its stabs, and can set up stealth rocks to make it harder for opponents to pivot around hydreigon. Hydreigon helps it in that it takes ground, psychic attacks and can take on pokemon like krookodile, rotom-w, and swampert that otherwise give nihilego trouble

I chose to go with a bit more of an offbeat pick in Tentacruel to partner with Hydreigon here. What Tentacruel provides is very valuable to Life Orb Hydreigon, however:
- Reliable hazard removal with Rapid Spin, allowing Hydreigon more opportunities to switch in (since this Hydreigon set forgoes Heavy-Duty Boots)
- A Fairy resistance + the ability to threaten Fairy-types with Sludge Bomb, dealing with Fairy-types that Hydreigon does not appreciate, such as Primarina and Azumarill
- Knock Off support for general utility and team support
- Residual damage spreading with Scald burns, Sludge Bomb poisons, and Knock Off removing Leftovers to make Hydreigon's hits harder for the opposing team to take

Ive set some defensive considerations aside for the moment (primarina
) and thought we could start off with a pivot. Cobalion brings Rocks and has a way to bring Hydreigon in safely with Volt Switch for it to proceed and wallbreak. Cobalion is also a huge magnet to stuff like Amoong, RH Tang, Skarmory and Aegislash ; which can all serve as Hydreigon food. Anything over Stone Edge can work but I feel Iron Head is pathetically weak rn. Thunder Wave and Toxic are options I like, the former crippling offensive switch ins like Mence, the latter putting some walls (including the ever painful volt absorbers) on a timer. Edge hits stuff like Thund and Moltres for good damage, which I value these days.

I chose Roserade since it has access Spikes and better offensive stats that allow it to check Fairy and Fighting Types better then Amoonguss, 252 Health and 116 SpD on Roserade allows it to tank a 252+ Choice Specs Primarina’s Psychic assuming that there are no hazards on the battlefield.

This guy! It brings a rocker an incredibly solid Primarina pivot (v useful when we lose momentum against it) but most importantly a Teleport pivot which can regain momentum but also lures things for Hydra to feast on, like Skarmory, Aegislash and even Excadrill which we can muscle past thanks to our LO. The fighting type situation will definitively look a bit dire if we chose it as the partner but I really think it can work.

Nihilego is a bit weird in that most of the other submissions can counter Primarina and/or Azu. But it’s great mon in general and can even dare to switch in in Primiarina’s Moonblast

The team is looking really weak to Nidoking and Nihilego right about now, and a Chansey would help cover this weakness nicely. It would also pair very well with the defensive Tapu Bulu we just added to the team - Bulu can take Fighting-type attacks and absorb Knock Offs for Chansey, while Chansey can check the Poison-types that threaten it. I chose to put Thunder Wave on our Chansey since Tapu Bulu is already supplying Toxic support, and having Stealth Rock covered early on helps a lot too.
Swampert @ Leftovers

Swampert is not only able to position Hydreigon well for it to break thanks to Flip Turn and Stealth Rock, but also synergises fantastically with Tapu Bulu, with Grassy Terrain heavily boosting its longevity.

This team seems to be lacking any Speed Control, Scarf Rotom-W provides that with the addition of Volt Switch to generate momentum for the team and Trick Support to cripple threats, It can also check the team’s main problems, Nidoking and Nihilego with Hydro Pump and Levitate, Pain Split is here to provide recovery for Rotom-W while the EV Spread allows Rotom-W to take three of Nihilego’s Sludge Wave from the Meteor Beam set, Furthermore, the washing machine can form a defensive core with Tapu Bulu where Tapu Bulu takes care of Excadrill and Swampert, although Rotom-W takes care of Fire Types and Skarmory better than Hydreigon can.

Jirachi provides a lot of good things for this team. Hydriegon and Tapu Bulu both have wonky Speed tiers, so Scarf Jirachi makes sense as a way to provide Speed control. Jirachi also synergizes greatly with both Hydriegon and Bulu. Jirachi deals with Fairies for Drei while Drei takes care of Ghosts for Jirachi, and Tapu Bulu sets up Grassy Terrain, which means Jirachi doesn't have to worry as much about taking Earthquakes from stuff like Excadrill and Mamo.
