Spiritomb (M) @ Choice Band
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP/40 Atk/216 SDef
Careful nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Trick
- Pursuit
- Shadow Sneak
- Will-o-wisp
---

This is an anti-lead I have been working on for a couple of days now. Spiritomb counters most of the leads in the UU Metagame. I needed to give this thing some power but I didnt want to lost any of his defenses. I realized that Spiritomb also learns Trick, so this is what I created myself. Depending on the lead, Spiritomb should 2HKO Froslass with Shadow Sneak, meaning only a layer of Spikes or they wasted a turn Taunting me. Pursuit should also 2hko Ambipom, KO Alakazam, and dent Uxie and Mesprit. Trick comes into place when the lead is Scarfed. Most scarf leads are special sweepers. Trick cripples them, and I can come back in later and trick their Scarf away. Also WoW for a quick status against a physical lead I cant beat, such as Nido's and Kanga.

porygon2.png

Porygon2 @ Leftovers
Ability: Trace
EVs: 252 HP/216 Def/40 SAtk
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Thunder Wave/Toxic
- Recover
- Ice Beam
- Thunder Bolt/Discharge
---

The Defensive Duck. Trace is a useful ability, I can copy Levitates, Pressures, Mold Breakers, Arena Traps, Speed Boosts in weather. Porygon2 is my check against teams that use weather conditions and just overall a good support. Thunder Wave allows me to parasupport my entire team, which it could use. Recover heals its bulky self. Boltbeam for neutral coverage except for Shed, Lanturn and Magneton. I was considering Toxic/Discharge so I'd have a way to hurt Lanturn and Shed.

venusaur.png

Venusaur (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Overgrow
EVs: 4 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Sleep Powder
- Swords Dance
- Power Whip
- Earthquake
---

This thing usually gets a free SD everytime. People fear Vensaur because he has a couple of deadly movesets. I chose this set over the scarf set because I felt this would be more helpful. Sleep Powder will cause a switch, allowing me to SD. Power Whip hurts anything that doesnt resist it. Also my check on bulky waters that might affect this team. Earthquake is here to help with that coverage. Standard EV's to give it max power and speed. Also, my TS absorber.

blaziken.png

Blaziken (M) @ Life Orb
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 188 Atk/68 Spd/252 SAtk
Rash nature (+SAtk, -SDef)
- Fire Blast
- Hidden Power [Grass]
- Stone Edge
- Superpower
---

The wall breaker of this team. This set I chose because with parasupport I felt Vacuum Wave wasnt really needed. Stone Edge supplies me with coverage of Honchrow and Altaria. Fire Blast hits anything hard, even if it resists. HP Grass will 2hko most bulky waters. Superpower to hit the Regis hard, and even KO. This thing is standard but gets the job done.

slowbro.png

Slowbro (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Own Tempo
EVs: 252 HP/200 Def/56 SAtk
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Surf
- Psychic
- Slack Off
- Thunder Wave
---

Slowbro provides more parasupport and a nice physical wall. EV's for bulk and some attack. Usually my 2nd switch-in on Fighting types, and hits them with a TWave or even Psychic. Surf for STAB and coverage. Slack Off for a recovery move. I picked Slowbro for synergy with Registeel, my wall.

registeel.png

Registeel @ Leftovers
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 252 HP/40 Atk/216 SDef
Careful nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Curse
- Iron Head
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
---

The game winning bad boy. With Paraylze Support or even a Toxic going around. This thing wins games. Curse up, rest, talk, and kill. I love this thing with a passion. Resistance to Toxic Spikes helps, Fighting and Fire to go Slowbro. Considering a 2nd attack over Sleep Talk, but right now this thing is staying the same.

That is my team, considering ScarfVenusaur over my current Venu. If I do that, I will change Porygon2's moveset with Toxic/Discharge.

Good team, I believe this could be improved. Firstly, I think Swellow is an incredible threat once its counters are removed. There are several tweaks to improve both Swellow and Gallade's sweep (your primary sweepers). Firstly, I think you could switch roles with Mesprit, Dugtrio, and Registeel. Try out Mesprit with U-turn / Psychic / Thunder Wave / Ice Beam in the lead slot with a bulky spread of 136 HP / 120 SpA / 252 Spe at a Jolly nature. Jolly to outpace Adamant Gallade, serving as a check to cripple it with Thunder Wave. The reason why Mesprit would do good in the lead slot is because it can strip off Froslass' sash with U-turn, allowing Gallade to scare it away with Shadow Sneak or Dugtrio to trap it. Psychic for STAB, Ice Beam to hit Ground-types, most especially Torterra. Thunder Wave is always needed to cripple faster threats, allowing Gallade to sweep easier because it has relatively low Speed (80). With that being said, this is a perfect oppurunity to use Life Orb / Choice Band Dugtrio with a Jolly Nature and moveset Earthquake / Sucker Punch / Stone Edge / Pursuit. This way you can trap Rock-, Steel-types who hinder Swellow's sweep. It also acts as a check to many threats today, such as Gallade, Raikou, and Alakazam. Basically, with all of these possible faster sweepers gone, Gallade can now sweep easily without these faster Pokemon ruining it. Choice Band and Life Orb is something you need to test out - which ever one floats your boat. Choice will get the power, Life Orb will provide more freedom on your movesets. Lastly, Registeel can fill in the moveset Stealth Rock / Shadow Claw / Earthquake / Iron Head. This way you can use it by coming in on Ambipom's Fake Out on Mesprit to give yourself a free turn to Stealth Rock. Shadow Claw to hit SubRotom, and Iron Head for STAB. Earthquake hits Raikou.

The obvious lack of physical wall is visible in this team. Therefore, going for Slowbro completes this 'RegiBro' combo in UU. Walling many threats today by themselves for the most part. Slowbro with Bold and EVs of 252 hp / 252 def / 6 spa should suffice. The movesets are Surf / Psychic / Thunder Wave / Slack Off. Slowbro defenitley adds a much needed role on the team to check Rock Polish Rhyperior, and even Gallade to a good extent. However, be aware of the item, know when to Thunder Wave or to attack. If it obviously hasn't taken any recoil damage from a hit, it is carrying Salac or Lum so be careful. Slowbro also checks a number of physical threats, and with a reliable recovery move, Slowbro will fit in fine over Scarf Rotom.

As for other options, I'd like you to ommit Protect on Swellow for Quick Attack to add more priority. You will most likely get the Toxic Orb boost due to your natural ability to force switch outs, and with Mesprit's U-turn to help you activate it. Quick Attack serves as a check to faster threats whose health is reduced. On Gallade, I was never a fan of Lum Berry. Gallade is a Pokemon who needs the extra power, therefore go for Life Orb. Try out Jolly nature also, because you'd be surprised how many guys linger around that Speed point (Honckrow, Venusaur, Blaziken, etc.) Last thing you want on yout lategame sweep is getting outsped by these guys. Go for Night Slash over Leaf Blade. This way, you hit Slowbro for super effective still (10 bp less), in exchange for hitting Weezing, and Venusaur as well. overall gl.

You might want to increase your discriptions to prevent this from getting locked. But I will offer my help even so. I actually battled this team on shoddy.

And after reading Franky's post I am not sure what else to say. He covers like everything. However; unlike him I am a big fan of the lum berry on gallade. I use it myself. And I would say stay with it as many use status to mess with him. The leaf blade over night slash debate is hard as with leaf claiming clean kos on the many waters running through UU with Roserades absents. Where Night Slash gives better coverage. So test and see what you like.

I would suggest switching Rotom to a Uxie Duel-screener,
Because Swellow and Gallade would greatly benefit,
as it would really ease their set-up.

Yeah.. its personal preference. Leaf Blade only hits Slowbro hard. Close Combat does more damage than a super effective Leaf Blade anyways on Milotic (the other common bulky water).

I like Leaf Blade because it hits Slowbro, Rhyperior, Quagsire, Milotic, Gastrodon, Blastoise, etc. The only thing I lack on Gallade is the ability to hit Weezing and Muk.

I could see SubRoost Moltres being an issue for this team. It can easily come in on Registeel and set up a Substitute on either a switch or T-wave, allowing it to safely wear down your whole team. Your only real counter to it is Rotom, who takes a lot of damage from Fire Blast or Flamethrower if Moltres safely has a Sub up. Swellow can dent it, but will not be able to OHKO it and will die a swift death.

To help alleviate this, I would first add Stone Edge to Gallade over Leaf Blade. A +2 Stone Edge will still hit Slowbro and company very hard and will give you something to hit Moltres on the switch. Everything franky mentioned are also very good suggestions. Your lead Dugtrio guarantees Stealth Rocks, but also guarantees set up on your opponents side as well. Froslass will gladly set up 2 or 3 layers of Spikes, which really hurts Registeel's and Gallades ability to switch. Switching up your team to some more standard sets will help Swellow and Gallade sweep.

SubRoost Moltres is incredibly rare, and mostly ineffective in this metagame. Besides, it comes in to revenge.

I say keep the Lum Berry, and Leaf Blade. It's not for super-effective coverage, save Slowbro, but rather for a good neutral hit.

QA over Protect on Swellow.

Franky's right on the rest though - switch the first three slots around.

Grass gets pretty terrible coverage alongside Fighting. With 3 shared resistances, Stone Edge provides much better coverage, getting super effective damage on 2 of Fighting's resistances. Even if it isn't purely for the sake of Moltres, it benefits Gallade much more than Leaf Blade.

Geez... no offense, but you seem like one of those people who can crush their friends, but is still relatively new to competitive Pokémon. When I started, I had the same mentality, but not anymore.

Slowbro is far more common than any of the Bug or Flying types that can take a hit. With SR, I'm pretty sure Moltres is KO'd by +2 Sneak. Honchkrow is OHKO'd by CC, and Swellow kills no matter what. Besides, I'm, sure none will come in only at the end. The point of Gallade is to be an endgame sweeper, so it can take out its weakened resists, since few endgame-sweep themselves. Pinsir is very rare, besides.

Leaf Blade benefits Gallade more, because of its reliable SE and neutral coverage on certain Pokémon. And Rock, Ground, and Water are extremely common in UU, so it's helpful to be able to KO them without having to drop defenses and become weak to priority, even if SE Leaf Blade = STAB CC.

And Slowbro/Spritomb are much more common than Moltres, and they also give you a free boost.
