Welcome to the fourth iteration of UU Masters! Matchups are standard SS UU, best-of-three, double elimination.

Tournament Rules:
  • General tournament rules and regulations can be found here.
  • Standard SS UU.
  • Best-of-three, double elimination.
  • Battles should take place on Pokemon Showdown!, ideally on the smogtours server.
  • SS cartridge win conditions are in place; there are no ties.
  • Tiers are locked at the beginning of each round.

Battle Clauses:
  • Sleep Clause: A player cannot put two or more different opposing Pokémon to sleep using attacks that induce sleep to opposing Pokémon.
  • Species Clause: A player cannot have two of the same Pokémon on their team. For example, a player cannot have two Koffing on their team.
  • Evasion Clause: A player cannot use the moves Double Team or Minimize in their Pokémon's movesets.
  • OHKO Clause: Players cannot use Horn Drill, Guillotine, Sheer Cold, or Fissure in any of their Pokémon's movesets.
  • Timer Clause: If a player exhausts the timer, they lose.
  • Endless Battle Clause: Any moveset on any pokemon that is capable of intentionally causing an endless battle is banned from competitive play.
  • Dynamax Clause: You cannot Dynamax your Pokemon.
General recommendations:
  • Contact your opponent as soon as possible upon the round going up. Activity cases are going to be handled in a very strict manner.
  • When scheduling, offer the widest range of time possible to play. 1 hour of activity on one or two weeknights is unlikely to be considered acceptable.
  • Schedule specifically - do not schedule for "Friday afternoon" or "Sunday morning", pick a date, a time and note the timezone.
That aside, feel free to get back to me if you still have any questions regarding this tournament after reading this post.

Points for the 2022 UU Tournament Circuit will be awarded accordingly for people who perform well in this tournament.

lost, this is g1 Quartosa can post the others

My team https://pokepast.es/b762cbc2b007fe43 KSt3ve wanted the Celebi set

Thoughts on how I could have improved play g2

t4 I went Jirachi because I expected a Teleport and Jirachi could pivot on anything, I didn't expect Chansey to be the SR user but given my opponent is very good I should know they are probably Teleport Rocks Chansey, which is why they go Chansey early on to set up Rocks. If I knew he was rocks, Sir Fetchd or Krook is better.

t9 is not bad, but it is ambitious, trying to get Sir Fetch'd in on a Softboiled, that it comes in keeps Chansey low (Chansey has no time to recover since SirFetched cannot be given free turns), but here, Jirachi instead of SirFetched made sense too since my opponent knows he cant heal anyways and its much harder to pivot on Jirachi since opponent's Thundy cannot OHKO it

t17 Twave would have been better here but I think I'm justified as Thundy to heal on Twave was a play for opponent

t18, 19- I am spamming Recover because I am predicting my opponent to switch, I didn't think they should let Tenta get para since that crucially lets SirFetchd outspeed and 2HKO it without taking damage if Tenta tries to switch in

t29 - same idea as turn 17

t31 - doubling is probably better, he only has one thing likely to switch into Mence and his Cobalion is so valuable he never really risks it there. Double to sirfetched probably better here.

t41 - attacking is trying to catch a very ambitious Teleport/rocks, but it doesnt work

t42 - I don't really need rocks tbh, sirfetched is better here (and also stops opp from setting up themselves)

next series of moves until turn 48 is quite excellent by my opponent - very well played man

t52 - should have doubled here, I dont think he ever sacks thundurus yet, and there's some squishiness in the position still for both sides (it's not clear that double is my only play here, so I should do it as he might expect other moves)

t57 - excellent early gg by my opponent, I was psychologically broken after this one for sure, which is why I played on, to recover my psyche

Again, well played by Quartosa

Thanks to my many supporters who helped me throughout my run - I'm sorry I didn't win it.

In particular - hariyana grande and Aqua Jet helped me test games so thank you
