Scizor @ Life Orb / Iron Plate
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Bullet Punch
- Superpower
- Knock Off / Bug Bite / Quick Attack
Despite the commonness of Fire-types such as Rotom-H and Moltres, Scizor remains one of UU's top offensive juggernauts. Its outstanding typing, solid physical bulk, and Technician-boosted Bullet Punch enable it to successfully act as a wallbreaker and setup sweeper. Dominant threats such as Mega Altaria, Terrakion, and non-Babiri Berry Togekiss all succumb to +2 Bullet Punch, and Hydreigon and Latias are OHKOed by Life Orb variants. Superpower is used to muscle past foes resistant to Scizor's other attacks like Cobalion and Mega Aggron, Knock Off cripples foes like Chandelure and Gligar, and Quick Attack handles Steel-resistant foes like Infernape and Mega Sharpedo on Life Orb sets, giving Scizor the ability to handle its checks more easily, which contributes to Swords Dance Scizor being a threat to prepare for. Stealth Rock setters like Krookodile and Nihilego can support Scizor, and pivots like Mega Manectric and Hydreigon are able to generate momentum and eliminate key threats to Scizor such as Moltres and Chandelure.
