Alright, I wanted to post a uu stall team that I've been playing lately on Shoddy and it has had some pretty good results. As much of a success as I've had, I have run multiple versions of this team often adding and removing pokes and I cannot for the life of me find a version I feel is the clear cut best. However I am going to post the version I use the most often, and probably the most stable as it is the most cliche UU stall team.
Roserade @ Leftovers
calm
252 Hp/ 248 Sp. Def./ 8 spe.
Spikes
Rest
Sludge Bomb
Energy ball
-Truth be told... this is a bad lead for me. Generally this thing starts me off at a disadvantage. With crobat being arguablly the best lead in UU... this thing is just not good, but its the best I have besides steelix (who I run as regirock in other versions as a lead). Once me switching in steelix to deal with Crobat is over, roserade becomes helpful taking hits from the special side, it can also take out a shaymin provided it doesn't get haxed.
Rest I like on her simply because she goes to full health... synthesis is okay but rest has more pp and recovers more health, and switching in on rocks and spikes isnt usually a problem with my spinner (give you 3 guesses who that is). Ive debated some sp. atk. ev's to help her hit harder, but I've yet to test this out, but I think the extra fire power could be good for this teams general lack of threatening attackers.
Hitmontop @ leftovers
Impish / Intimidate
252 HP/ 180 Atk./ 72 Def./ 8 Spe.
Foresight
Rapid Spin
Close Combat
Sucker Punch
- This guy, at least for me, is the only great rapid spinner in uu. he resists rocks and can foresight ghosts and guarantee a spin or just kill the ghost with a close combat. Sucker punch lets me kill a mismagius if they think they can kill me, however this is generally a last resort. I had ev'd this guy to ko a max def. spiritomb even with a burn on the second CC, but I felt it was unneeded, so I added a little more bulk back to hitmontop. I dont run speed because Id rather hit hard and the speed ev's seemed wasted when I outrun the things hitmontop can hit SE with close combat... I like these ev's and they serve me very well so, even if they look a little random, they work I promise.
Chansey @ Leftovers
Calm
248 Def./ 252 Sp. Def./ 8 Spe.
Toxic/Aromatherpy(on some versions, but not on the main one)
Protect
Wish
Seismic Toss
-Because I found clefable just isnt good enough... Sp. threats keep getting better, and Chansey is the best patch on a team. When I first got into pokemon, Blissey was my favorite... Im a stall player at heart and I loved her. Quickly her over use killed the love, but shes used alot because she is amazing. A note, Noctowl is useable as a special wall these days to an extent since many sp. attk threats are either mismagius or shaymin(both Noc. can handle easily) so I run him sometimes in this spot, but chansey more consistantly walls special attackers.
Steelix @ Leftovers
Relaxed (0 spe. Iv's)
252 Hp./ 156 Atk./ 100 Def.
Stealth Rock
Roar
Gyro Ball
Earthquake
- Okay more of my homebrew ev spread... This gives him 500 def. even which is AMAZING. Anyway LonelyNess said it best when he said "why do people waste their ev's on Sp. Def. on a def. wall?" I agree and avoid this(except on chansey for pursuit reasons) This can kill a crobat easy and a U turn from a Crobat is actually free leftovers recovery with this spread. If my opponent leads a crobat (often), then I go to this guy. I should probably just use him as a lead, but they both aren't great at the job. I have found that a crobat is more likely to u turn w/o taunting if I switch in Stee;ix for fear of taking a hit, so thats why I dont use him as a lead. Other than the ev's he is generally standard.
Quagsire @ leftovers
Relaxed
252 Hp./ 252 Atk./ 4 Atk.
Encore/ Toxic
Protect
Ice beam
Earthquake
-I LOVE this thing. His stats seemed meh to me, but I wanted something to give rain teams trouble, and a water immunity for steelix what with milotic having a fare bit of popularity as well as blaziken and arcanine. I have been using Toxic to great success, but I feel like encore is too good to pass up, and I already have toxic support. Tell me what you think... Yawn could maybe work also, but I prefer the other two as I have a phazer in steelix. I just cant stress how many threats he helps me with...
Blaziken cant OHKO w/o a choice banded superpower(which still may not do it) and earhtquake is a OHKO on it. Arcanine cant do much w/o HP grass. he gives me an extra switch to Honchkrow (the main trouble to all of my teams)
Mismagius @ Leftovers
Calm
252 Hp./ 252 Sp. Def./ 4 Spe.
Perish Song
Pain Split
Psychic
Shadow Ball
-This is the ghost needed on almost all stall teams. I actually really like her as a spin blocker because she can hit all of the common rapid spinners pretty hard. hitmontop with psychic if I can keep it a secret. Claydol is hurt by shadow ball. Also, for whatever reason, Crobat seems to like to come out on a missy, and Psychic nails it hard as well. I like it more than Hp fighting, and so far, havent missed the coverage. Persish song is to help shuffle opponents and can catch a switch in. Also, if I manage to keep her alive until the end, then a perish song is more than likely a gg. I'm happy with this set, but she seems to be the most venerable to early kills from honchkrow via pursuit so I have debated thunderbolt instead of psychic, but I really like nailing hitmontop with psychic. Mis only has 4 spe. because bulky ghost is a fairly rare poke these days, and thats sad, because an immunity to 3 common physical types is very helpful.
A note about speed ev's: I ran 8 ev's in speed on the more commonly used pokes on this team as running 4 speed isnt unheard of. The relaxed natured pokes are lol with 4 speed so I didnt bother. Miss is slower than 99 percent of mismagius out there so I dont mind only having 4 in speed.
Okay, so like I said, I wont be winning awards for originality, but I feel that in the areas I have experimented, I have made improvements for my team. So Im not expecting an incredible amount of feedback, but I would like some help on the moves where /'s are present. Btw: in other versions of the team I ran Clefable, Noctowl, Regirock and Registeel. After all of the combinations I made, this one worked the best, though I still prefer Clefable because of Encore... she just cant take the hits that Chansey can. I'll make a small threat list in a minute, so thanks for reading. I feel that this is a solid team with the ability to handle most threats fairly well, however honchkrow is so hax based, I dont feel I have a solid way to deal with him, but is there really one of those anyway when something that strong can crit that often?
