UU Team

Titles are my weak point...

Anyway, I decided to make an UU team because I don't really want to spend time improving an OU team I'll have to remake in what, 21 days? This team is pretty good, with a Fire-water-grass core, a spinner, lead, revenge killer, and physical and special walls, which is a thing I go for often. Anyway, enough for this paragraph. Without further ado...

Candylure (Chandelure) (F) @ Choice Specs
Trait: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd
Modest Nature
- Overheat
- Shadow Ball
- Hidden Power [Fighting]
- Energy Ball

Candylure, my chandelier is a great spinblocker, and a great special attacker in general. With specs on, her overheat does around 83% to even things that resist it. The only problem with it is that it's a bit slow, But if it switches in on a Fire type move, nearly nothing would be safe from it's overheat. And anyway, who doesn't like candy?

Blast 'o' Hoys (Blastoise) (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Torrent
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Bold Nature
- Rapid Spin
- Scald
- Toxic
- Roar

Well, I have my own brand of cereal now. Blastoise makes up the water in my core, it also phazes and spins, and last but not least, can toxic a couple threats. It makes a decent gligar counter, and well... A secondary physical wall, and my switch in to darmanitan. And... that's about it.

Roserage (Roserade) (F) @ Black Sludge
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 120 Def / 136 SDef
Calm Nature
- Spikes
- Giga Drain
- Sludge Bomb
- Aromatherapy

My cleric, spike setter, grass type for my core. It can heal itself with Giga drain, and sludge bomb is a decent secondary stab. It can wall water types, but that's all it can do, i guess. I can't use this team on PO because of her, though.

214.gif

Herocross (Heracross) (M) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Moxie
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- Megahorn
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake

Revenge killer. That's all I can use to describe this guy. On the other hand, once ghost types and certain flying types (gligar) have been removed, this guy can come in and finish the opponent off with Close Combat about 80% of the time. He doesn't really resist much, so he's better off staying unused until I really need him, and that's about it.

437.gif

Bronze Gong (Bronzong) @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Relaxed Nature
IVs: 0 Spd
- Stealth Rock
- Gyro Ball
- Toxic
- Earthquake

In my opinion, this is the closest thing there is to an UU Skarmory. Without reliable recovery, this guy can't wall much, and after a couple hits, he goes down, but even with all that going against him, he can be counted on to set rocks, poison the enemy, and hopefully take something down over the remainder of the battle with Gyro Ball.

143.gif

Snoremax (Snorlax) (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 SDef / 252 HP / 4 Atk
Careful Nature
- Return
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
- Whirlwind

I think fat pokemon are the greatest special walls. Bronzong and Snorlax are the closest thing I can get to a SkarmBliss combo in UU (I think.) He can wall just about every special attacker, and some physical attackers too. Whirlwind phazes, and return does an average of 30% to anything that doesn't resist it, but it sadly does an average 0% against Chandelure.

Umm... I'm not good at closing comments either, but I'll give it a shot.

Help would be appreciated, and if you actually read all that, thank you.

Hi, nice team, and there aren't that many changes I can think of, but here they are:

First of all, your team, once your Chandy is gone, seems really fire weak, in particular opposing scarf chandelures which lock themselves into fire blast. Another threat is houndoom, which, though uncommon, could come in on an overheat from your chandy and pursuit trap it then sweep most of the team with overheat/fire blast and HP grass to hit blastoise. Other common fire types are: darmanitan, victini, arcanine and moltres. I'll address this later on.

I would change your chandy set a bit, firstly. A scarf set is possible to patch up the whole slow thing, and I would change overheat to fire blast, as you may dislike the drop which means after two uses you're not hitting that hard.

Next Blastoise might appreciate foresight, as chandelure like I said, are a threat and really common, and if you can spin away entry hazards even though it's ghost. other ghost types are also rampant in the tier. I think, as your go-to fire type counter, maybe you should switch scald for surf. this hits a little harder, and a physical attacker may come in on a toxic and not be burned. Also, fire types like darmanitan are immune to it so it doesn't matter as much as you would think. Also, bronzong carries toxic, so something might be afflicted already. So I would also, to hit harder give a few EVs to SpA:

252 HP/ 136 Def/ 120 SpA with a calm nature (+ SpD*, -Atk)
* Special Defence

Finally, roar could be replaced with dragon tail if you think your getting taunted or against a xatu or just want initial power, but it doesn't function against subs.

With Roserade, maybe give it rest over aromatherapy. if you find you're not using the latter very much, then this increases its longevity and with the bulky spread you have would work quite well. Your call, though.

Heracross is pretty cool, but night slash is always an option over stone edge or EQ. To hit dusknoir, cofagrigus, cresselia and a couple over pokes harder, and also having more reliability than SE. I would pop the 4 EVs into HP for overall more bulk against something like chandelure, but it's not important.

Bronzong is good, but iron ball would make gyro ball hit harder if you think lefties aren't that important, and you may want to run a dual screens set for heracross and chandelure, as well as the other tanks.

Snorlax, if you keep aromatherapy on roserade, might not need sleep talk (I dislike the move for its crappy reliability) You could switch it for pursuit or EQ if you want to hit chandy, which would be useful. Another idea is curselax, or you could use body slam to get some paralysis on the opponent's sweepers. Completely up to you.

You may notice I'm not changing any actual pokemon for another, but that's because the team looks quite solid in that aspect.

GL and hope I helped

I question why you use Overheat when Fire Blast is much better and doesn't have the SpAtk drop. I guess the accuracy is shaky but 8/10 it hits.

Your team is pretty cool and it seems solid, but it's extremely weak to Fighting type pokemon like Mienshao or Heracross, who can easily sweep your team as nothing can take attacks from them. Chandelure is your only kind of a check to them, and it's not reliable because it can be easily dispatched with a coverage move like Stone Edge. Something you could consider to solve this problem is usin Qwilfish as your Spikes settler instead of Roserade. Qwilfish provides you with a decent Fighting-type counter, as it stop pokemon like Heracross thanks to his typing and Intimidate. If you're going with Qwilfish, you could also replace Blastoise with a different spinner because Blastoise is a bit redundant alongside Qwilfish. Hitmontop and Xatu seems good options for a Blastoise replacemente due to the utility they provide. Qwilfish set:

Qwilfish@Leftovers | Intimidate
Impish nature | 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spe
Waterfall / Spikes / Pain Split / Haze

Another option to fix the problem with Fighting-types is using Cofagrigus instead of Chandelure, but that would make you lose a lot of offensive pressure, though.

Finally, I believe you should definitely try using Body Slam instead of Return on Snorlax, as the paralysis side effect is much more useful that a bit of extra power (which isn't very noticiable). Paralysis support also helps Chandelure to tear holes in opposite teams since Chandelure is slow.

Hi, nice team. I just have some small suggestions.
First I suggest fire blast over overheat because it's not that much of a power loss and no stat drops, meaning if chandy gets a flash fire boost he can sweep with fire blast.
Secondly try earthquake over sleep talk on snorelax. Because it can absorb fire blast with thick fat then OHKO it (maybe 2 not sure) with EQ.
I like the nicknames btw .

Tl;dr
Fire blast > over heat on chandy
Earthquake > sleep talk on snorelax
