UU team

I wanna know what glaring weaknesses I have and how the team's chemistry is...etc etc

sharpedo.png

Sharpedo (M) @ Choice Band
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 6 HP/252 Atk/252 Spd
Jolly nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Aqua Jet
- Crunch
- Ice Fang
- Earthquake

Well, this guy is my physical attacker as you may have noticed. He's actually more useful than I thought he could be. He's useful to pull in a switch against a Surf heading towards my Aggron or an Ice Beam towards Altaria or Meganium. His speed is good and is only supported by what paralysis is spread around by my T-Wavers.

aggron.png

Aggron (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Rock Head
EVs: 252 HP/252 Atk/6 Spd
Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Substitute
- Focus Punch
- Stone Edge
- Thunder Wave

My fun defender against some random choice bander as well as an annoying paralyzer. Stone Edge has come to disappoint me with how much it misses...so that may end up becoming Rock Slide or even Hidden Power [Rock]. He's good at taking hits from other resistances for my Hypno.

altaria.png

Altaria (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP/200 Def/56 SDef
Careful nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Rest
- Sing
- Aerial Ace

Altaria is my ground immunity and sleep inducer...tho I've thinking about taking sing out for something else and giving Sleep Powder to Meganium. It also takes the slack for the weaknesses of Aggron (x4 Fighting and Ground).

meganium-f.png

Meganium (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Overgrow
EVs: 216 HP/148 Def/144 SAtk
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Energy Ball
- Aromatherapy
- Reflect
- Leech Seed

Meganium is another wall and my healer. Plan is to Leech or Reflect then switch; Aroma when necessary...but I haven't seen too much of that and I've been thinking about changing...perhaps even switching Meganium out for something else.

hypno-m.png

Hypno (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Insomnia
EVs: 252 HP/56 Def/200 SDef
Calm nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Psychic
- Thunder Wave
- Wish
- Light Screen

Hypno is my annoying Special Wall. Thunder Wave things and set up a Light Screen to help teammates take attack on the switch, namely Sharpedo and Froslass I haven't really used Wish too much altogether but obviously to heal itself and Teammates.

froslass-f.png

Froslass (F) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Snow Cloak
EVs: 6 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk
Timid nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Ice Beam
- Hidden Power [Fighting]
- Shadow Ball
- Thunderbolt

Froslass is my Special attacker. I try to take advantage of its Immunities and some resistances (switching in on a Water using Ice Beam for example).

thx

You might want to edit your post in relation to this ...

3. Have some actual words in your post beyond your six Pokemon and their moves. Not following this makes your post quite boring to read and rate. All Pokemon should have a good reason for being in your team anyway, so why not post that reason? If you're having trouble with this one, start by give an explanation for each team member. Why are they there? What role do they serve? How do you get them in? Then, give an explanation of how you would open with the team and how you would go about using it. All of these things help people rate your team and allow us to offer more helpful advice.

Well, for your Sharpedo, I'm going to suggest Waterfall over Ice Fang. Why? Well, when super effective, Ice Fang has a power of 130, only ten base power higher than your STAB Crunch, at 120. This power difference hardly ever means the difference between a OHKO/2HKO. The only time Ice Fang is a really good option is for x4 super effective hits, but in UU, Altaria and Jumpluff are the only ones x4 weak to Ice(Jumpluff out speeds you anyways, so you'd have to Aqua Jet if you were desperate). The only poke in UU I know of that resists Dark, Water, and Ground is Shiftry, who is rather uncommon. So basically the only times you would really want to have the move Ice Fang are for Shiftry and Altaria. But with Waterfall, you know have a strong Water STAB to plow through things, and a STAB priority move in Aqua Jet to take out weakened sweepers. Also w/o Waterfall, you miss the chance to 2HKO Steelix.
For Aggron, replacing Stone Edge for Rock Slide is fine, but don't use HP Rock, it's a special type move.

Crunch is Sharpedo's main STAB, so I'm going to have to disagree on this one... Waterfall isn't really needed in tandem with Aqua jet, which is much more useful. Most times, Waterfall and Crunch have redundant coverage, I never find myself using Waterfall on my crawdaunt or sharpedo.

Anyways, Sharpedo doesn't really outrun anything significant with Jolly Nature, IMO... use Adamant for the large power increase, it'll help you 2HKO what you need to, most notably, Meganium.

Oh yeah, never leave your Meganium without HP Ice, you'll get walled by Vileplume and Alataria all day long, and they'll just keep coming in and wreaking havoc.

Actually skiddle I'm going to have to disagree lol. Perhaps if Ice Fang hit more stuff, but usually you can just use your STAB Crunch/Waterfall and do pretty much the same damage. So because Ice Fang will rarely see use, why not give it Waterfall? Sharpedo is fairly fast, but not the fastest thing out there. I think because of that, it warrants the use of both Waterfall and Aqua Jet. Also, who doesn't love 2HKO'ing Steelix with a physical move?

I disagree with this statement. Max speed adamant gets Sharpedo to 289 which is below +speed nature base 85 pokemon like Toxicroak and Skuntank (base 84). The extra speed allows Sharpedo to outspeed Rotom and get into a speed tie with Drapion and Leafeon who would otherwise KO Sharpedo before its attack unless it is locked into Aqua Jet.

I think Sharpedo should stay with Jolly.

As for the team itself, Altaria doesn't like walling Fighting attacks when it takes an extra 25% to boot from switching into Stealth Rocks. I think you should replace Altaria with Claydol or Nidoqueen. They take very little from rocks and resist the subsequent Rock attack that is on most Fighting types. Both can set up Rocks for you to help Sharpedo and Lass in the long run. Froslass is the only other poke to take 25% from rocks, but it may not be as bad on her since she is choice'd.

I do agree with Skiddle in that Meganium needs HP Ice. I say replace it with Reflect and if you choose to use Claydol, give Reflect to Claydol.

Meganium doesn't learn Sleep Powder. It learns Grasswhistle, but with 55% accuracy, it isn't the most reliable thing.
