  • Follow all rules listed here.
  • Schedule via Smogon VMs. It's easier for me to make decisions for activity calls when I can actually see what went down with scheduling.
  • If you are unable to schedule with your opponent, please let your managers know ASAP so they can communicate that to me or the other team's managers for a potential substitute.
  • Substitutions may be made after a week has started. When making a substitution, please tag myself, the managers of the opposing team, and all of the players affected by the substitute to ensure that everyone is made aware. Players who have already played in the week or were subbed out in the same week cannot be subbed back in.
  • If a match remains incomplete by the time of the deadline, it will be subject to an activity call.
  • Replays are mandatory. Not only are they useful for confirming wins, they contribute to usage stats and allow the people who couldn't watch the games live to watch them later.
  • Managers: Please send me your lineups in the same format that I used to post pairings. It makes it much easier to post future rounds more quickly.

SM UU: Highways vs Askov - two friends in this matchup so hoping for a fun one. i think i rate them about equally in skill level overall, but i rate highways higher in sm uu. i think they should just focus on not getting too fancy in the builder, but as long as they do that it should be up to matchup+clicking so will bold highways.
SM UU: Xiri vs blunder - interesting matchup, i was very tempted to bold blunder, but xiri is just so experienced in sm uu. i cannot remember the last time i saw blunder play this tier. obviously they are both good players, and i think blunder's aggressive playstyle fits sm uu very well, so with tdk's support he should be able to adjust quickly. however, since it's week 1, and given xiri's consistent sm uu performances over the past few years i'll give him the edge here.
SM UU: Empo vs Gondra - another very close matchup, these players have both played sm uu before, and are experienced tour players that both have impressive histories. i think for me personally, empo would be a more difficult opponent to face, but looking at the teams i saw that gondra's support is very strong in this slot. i believe he will bring a better team and be able to pilot it well, and he is slightly more experienced than empo in the tier. could easily go either way though for sure.

very close matchups, hoping for not much recycling in this tier this time around and having some fun games, good luck :blobpex:

Moomoo Farm Mysterious Sisters (6) vs (4) Iki Town Idols
SV UU: avarice vs Lily - Cool mu, very similar players in the sense that both try to bring something unique and innovative to surprise the opponent rather than bringing standard, so i'm 100% sure this will be a cool watch. Lily has been doing great since SV dropped and has been very motivated with all the fun possiblities sv offers, gonna bold her for that reason.
SV UU: mncmt vs Nat - Highlight of the series for me. 2 really strong players with a good understanding of SV going head to head in a tier they barely played seems like a good recipe for a banger, it could go both ways but I'm gonna bold mence as he looked unstoppable in SPL and has been extremely motivated ever since SV dropped. Also if he does well KM is probably gonna be gifting him nitro so that's extra reasons.
SV UU: gum vs Xrn - Both are great players, I'm not sure if Xrn has even seen a single game of SV UU although he does look like someone who will like clicking moves with tinkaton, my vote goes to gum as they played some SV UU and have looked great/are very motivated.
SS UU: Luthier vs MichaelderBeste2 - Both of them find themselves back in a SS tier after struggling with SV, Luthier had some really strong showings in here during CG and with the great support the Sisters have I don't see him doing badly.
SM UU: Highways vs Askov - BR Showdown. I don't think I've ever seen Askov playing SM and Highways is a great SM player as he showcased in invitationals, although I don't particularily love his teamchoices. Bolding Highways as it's a psafe bet.
ORAS UU: dingbat vs Wanka - Draco Meteors aside wunka is a great player and I'm sure the slurpuffless metagame is a friendlier one for him. dingbat has been doing great ever since last UUPL but also I feel like he will need to change it up a bit since his teams all look vsimilar? Could go either way but I'm excited to see Wanka back in the scene and feel like he's gonna take this one.
BW UU: sensei axew vs Finchinator - Finch w/ the Lily support is vscary and I'm not familiar with Sensei's BW UU although he's the type of guy who can play any tier at a high level. Really cool mu, gonna go with finch but also wouldn't be too surprised if sensei took this one.
DPP UU: hariyana grande vs Beraldinho - duckies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hari is good so is beraldo but i have never seen beraldo playing dpp uu and hari made like my fav team to use so bolding him :thumbs_up:
ADV UU: LpZ vs shiloh - Could go either way as shiloh carry(carried us in bwpl) is a really good player but i'm a bit skeptical of him with little to no support although he does build for himself usually, and with great results. I don't really recall LpZ playing ADV UU much either but gonna be bolding the classic champion for this one.
GSC UU: Torchic vs Estarossa - the show vs non the show in gsc, you know it's not gonna be close.

SV UU: ProDigeZz vs Star - Prodigezz is a cool builder/is always great at prepping but Star is a much stronger player in my opinion, although i'm once again not sure of his support as i barely have seen Kst3ve playing SV. Still gonna be bolding him.
SV UU: Skarph vs KSt3ve - SCL winner and french goat Kst3ve finds himself out of the jerk's chains and is ready to prove himself once again after some questionable SCL games, and is facing uh.. pdt's AG's bestie? Jokes aside i'm not familiar with Skarph as a player although i heard great things and i'm sure with pdt helping them they'll do great. Gonna bold Kst3ve as I like his narrative more.
SV UU: vivalospride vs Feliburn - This is a matchup I expected to see in SM UU and not SV UU of all places but here we are.. unsure if Viv played any SV so far and my terrorstie was Top 6 on the ladder at one point which probably means he played 10x the amount of games viv has even watched atp and also Feli is always a fun player to watch.
SS UU: Ninja vs Moutemoute - Ninja is one of those players that plays every tier known to earth and usually does well in the obscure ones, but god 3.5k (instead of 3k this time around) Moute is a hard opponent for your (probably) first game in the tier.
SM UU: pdt vs robjr - very cool matchup. rob to me had reached a point in the past where although he was easily one of the best players in this tier he was really limited in what he could do by his vsmall variety of teams and comfort zone, but was able to break from that shell and had an extremely strong tour in UUSD, although that was also thanks to pdt's support. I'm excited to see if he can keep riding that wave now where his support is definitely a lot more lackluster, but also i'm gonna be bolding pdt for this one, as I think his very different take on SM and aggressive play just makes him the scariest player to face in this tier, and with Pak helping him I can only see him being a much stronger threat. Also had an insane year in 2022, he looked unstoppable.
ORAS UU: Pak vs Killintime - KT used to send me spider pics on discord (i'm arachnophobic), Pak has never done that. Outside of that Pak is ORAS UU and although KT's team is gonna be giving him a massive headache, i just can't really see him losing(especially if he brings drapion).
BW UU: Amukamara vs eden - eden has been away from smogon for a while now and only signed up as sub so i'm going to assume his motivation is probably low. Liam is great at BW UU.
DPP UU: HSA vs Micciu - Two players I did not expect to see in DPP although HSA hates GSC now so it makes sense. Could go either way but bolding micciu because i want to see him posting :pouss: in his winpost.
ADV UU: Parpar vs Shiba - Parpar had some strong showings in recent ADV UU tours starting in UUFPL and continuing with UUSD, although he doesn't have much support this time around (NOOOO micciu..). Shiba is good at this ungodly tier and has been solid/top tier in it for years.
GSC UU: Leru vs kaori - idfk won't even lie about it.

Friend Safari Pokemon Trainers (3) vs (6) Mikan Island Monsters
SV UU: TJ vs talah - Cool mu. TJ is TJ and has been solid throughout the last couple of years, although he has been struggling a bit with SV while talah has looked great in SPL. Tinkaton being the Landorus-T of the tier and easily a gay icon makes it easy for me to bold them.
SV UU: Fc vs Poek - I hope Poek comes up with something as gorgeous as his SS UU HO from SCL. Bolding him is funnier.
SV UU: Danny vs Meru - Danny has looked great in SV UU this far while I think Meru has been struggling a bit. Meru is Meru so he's probably gonna end up bouncing back, finish with a strong record and then complaing in uucord about how he was underranked and undervalued while also calling everyone (especially Kst3ve) she/her. Could go either way week 1, bolding Danny because so Meru is mad ouuu
SS UU: udongirl vs TDK - TDK likes chansey so udon can't spam specs mons. Jokes aside this is probably gonna be a cool watch, TDK was the best SS UU player in SCL and udongirl had some pretty strong tours, I also like her dedication for playing stuff she enjoys even though they can be fairly questionable. Gonna be bolding The Jerk.
SM UU: Xiri vs blunder - I feel like Xiri has been struggling a bit in the past couple of years (or at least in the tours I watched), while blunder is a strong player although he hasn't touched this tier in ages. Still feel like he's gonna be taking this one.
ORAS UU: Elfuseon vs lax - I'm like the biggest lax fan and think he's like insane as long as he doesn't overthink stuff. He has also been doing exceptionally well in SPL.
BW UU: Expulso vs SoulWind - Very likely a banger. Bolding SoulWind but I feel like it's gonna be closer than people think, Expulso is passionate and always does well in non-SCL things (it's a curse).
DPP UU: fatty vs 16bit - fatty in DPP UU is fatty in DPP UU and I've never seen 16bit play.
ADV UU: Heysup vs crying - crying is always a fun one to watch, Heysup has been consistently top 1-2 in this tier for years though and I don't think he will be stopped here.
GSC UU: d0nut vs col49 - Not familiar with either of them playing (or with gsc uu for the matter).
