Grimmsnarl @ Lagging Tail
Ability: Prankster
Level: 50
Tera Type: Grass
EVs: 244 HP / 108 Def / 156 SpD
Careful Nature
- Thunder Wave
- Trick
- Spirit Break
- Parting Shot
I love this one for setting up Crawdaunt. Lagging Tail is good for when parad is not slow enough, and doesn't miss. Also hits all types(bar dark, which Prankster t wave still fails against anyways.) This lets Craw get rid of most everything in theory. T wave is for when it IS enough, and I can save my Lagging Tail for something faster. Also ofc the hax. Depending on the match up, I might have nothing better to do than t wave their tricked mon, even if the spe effect is redundant. Spirit Break could be something else, I like dropping SpA though. Parting Shot is great, idk if it's even ok to run Grimm w/o it. EVs are random, grass tera for spore, idk cause Amoonguss takes it down anyway, Did get a Brute Bonnet w/ it. Also semi-good into kyogre at least. This is brought a lot, I find it pretty splashable. This is vulnerable to them switching away from Trick, then I lose the utiliity if I waste it on a switch in who doesn't care(as in a switch in already paralyzed or slow besides.)
Crawdaunt @ Choice Band
Ability: Adaptability
Level: 50
Tera Type: Flying
EVs: 116 HP / 244 Atk / 12 Def / 4 SpD / 132 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Aqua Jet
- Crabhammer
- Knock Off
- Tera Blast
EVs...outspeed 4 Spe 70s, bulk for...something, I swear. That is why I even took a smidge out of atk, it needs the bulk. I preserve sets, but no way I can find a place to save the reasoning, and find it when I want. Anyways, tera Flying and blast are meant to get Koraidon, it should use a fighting Attack on me that I'd resist. This is used for the power, it can ohko Ting Lu for instance(hard even w/ tera, though this doesn't need that.) This is brought pretty often as well, mainly with Grimm unless they are slow(although tr still needs to be tricked a lagging tail for safety.) I have high hopes for this mon because the power level is creepy. Bulk isn't great though, but I can't run more support, really, w/ this meta. The restricted is meant to nearly be an auto bring, so I can't dedicate more than one slot(the Grimm) to setting up Craw. This is probably my favorite mon now, for how it hurts even resists.
Lunala @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Shadow Shield
Level: 50
Tera Type: Psychic? lol
EVs: 244 HP / 252 SpA / 12 SpD
Modest Nature
- Moonblast
- Moongeist Beam
- Moonlight
- Calm Mind
I'm trying to decide a tera type, sadly psychic is default. I'm between normal for Caly-S, fairy for Moonblast and it's common, and Electric for Miraidon. Regular set bar maybe EVs, Lunala has an unfortunate base Def kinda, so I favor Modest. I'm not too sure I need the SpA EVs, but anyways. Odd Hp and rest in SpD. I chose this...oh darn, reason is lost in my conversation. Anyways, it was between this, Lugia, and Groudon. This is most common and has offensive prescense w/o nasty sun. It's ok, can get Miradion. Not really well enough, but I didn't like Dialga.
Regirock @ Leftovers
Ability: Sturdy
Level: 50
Tera Type: Bug
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
- Heavy Slam
- Body Press
- Iron Defense
- Thunder Wave
I have often had an IronPress user. This one is chosen partly for Sturdy(Pao can run Sheer Cold.) Bug tera takes a pittance from Sacred Sword, even if they go through boosts, so I can set up 100% safe there. I'm actually not sure about this cause of many special restricteds, as well as Koraidon, who takes it terad or not most times. Heavy Slam is for Flutter. I replaced Probopass w/ this, since I realized Probopass is just worse, however, Heavy Slam won't work well on fairy Heatran, unlike Flash Cannon. T-Wave is filler here, was likely gonna go rest, but since I'll probably replace this idk. Lunala could use leftovers better since I lack access to kee berries.
Dondozo @ Chesto Berry
Ability: Unaware
Level: 50
Tera Type: Fairy
EVs: 252 HP / 108 Def / 148 SpD
Impish Nature
- Wave Crash
- Rest
- Curse
- Fissure
I made this more physically bulky a while ago for Urshifus, since they crit. SpD should still do something. This is also a pao answer, w/ fairy tera for that and Urshifus. The main thing is Fissure fishing, I often get quite lucky there, though not often enough. I have gone between this and Waterpon many times already, that mon is for the other Ogre. I generally like this though, Koraidon is very common, Kyogre somewhat less so(who'd have though after last gen lol.) Curse is more for the defense than the offense, but it still can be very good. I like this mon a lot, it's even good at resting after the 1st time w/ Unaware.
Moltres @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Flame Body
Level: 50
Tera Type: Ground
EVs: 252 HP / 204 Def / 52 Spe
Bold Nature
- Substitute
- Scorching Sands
- Roost
- Flamethrower
I put this per a suggestion um. It gets Koraidon I guess, and I wanted a mon to burn them, since despite it being great in its own right, Lunala has 0 space for Wisp or, really, any deviation(usage data drops off a lot after the 4th most common move, really it should be those attacks, Moonlight, CM 100% imo.) But it really supports Lunala's lower and unboosted def. Spe is for 4 Spe Gliscor, same w/ sub. Ground tera is the same logic as for Ho-oh and boosts Scorching Sands so it 2hkos Miraidon. I put the other EVs into Def not SpA, after maxing HP, cause there are only 2 attacks, and I wanted helme w/ the ability and all. This is pretty good I think, it got a Kyurem-B, apparently burned won't 2hko even w/ 1 crit Fusion Bolt, unboosted.
I'm doing bad...right now I blame the Regirock most. I like Sturdy, and I really like IronPress, but the typings don't seem to work, plus the match ups into Miraidon, Koraidon, Ogre, and Caly S. I suppose looking on the bright side it's gotten slightly less bad, but I want to improve this a lot. I think those 4 legendary match ups are the worst right now. I also lost to tr, Hatterene is the go to for set up often, though she's obvious, and Taunt wouldn't work even when I have it)those times Dozo is replaced w/ Waterpon.)
