Darkrai being nerfed 3x over feels forced in the meta... just doesnt feel like darkrai anymore esp with NP being removed, dark void being shit compared to the past ( i really want to adjust it), and being expected to come this tour def makes it seem worse.. its prob "balanced" esp after blunder policy nerf so i guess a lot of things had to go right in the meta for it to be accepted.

Rekindle burn effect is a great nerf! This makes pokemon like kingambit, sneasler, roarong moon, and meow... and just seeems free before hand... nwo its a contact punish which i hope isnt to stupid but if ur u-turning ont his pokemon ur prob boosting raging fury which is one of the last things you want.

Instead, on the turn Rekindle is used, attackers making contact with the user get burned. If this happens, the constant healing effect is removed. This still makes Rekindle a threatening "offensive defensive" tool to punish physical attackers with, but it's a lot easier to play around since you can just switch or hit in the Rekindle user with a non-contact move. Plus, even if you do get burned, you at least turn off the passive healing effect until they use Rekindle again.
More like "fuck slow pokemon" but yeah... i feel rekindle can go to 8pp because this means spamming it to get burn has now greater risk and punishes the user more for clicking the move like no tomorrow... but i can see why one would not want this nerf to go through

Justified nerf is fine, kingambit stays winning this slate as tauros no longer fucks it over at every corner and now justified corv now still can be chipped down via cleave although its basically a resistance to dark which is gonna be a big pain (jugulis also stays winning as dark pulse hits phys def corv a decent amount)

Ugh...doing this while sick and almost non-functional as this computer after also being gone for a month was...unfun, but it's done now. I'm not doing the other Ubers like Beaf Cultist did; I can't bring myself to care with all this coughing and other trouble. Belated and much deserved congratulations on being Pet Mod of the month(s). Also R.I.P. Justified.

Anything in these brackets--[]--is a move that the mon already officially has that we changed. Finally, in looking back at what got Natural Gift just a gen ago, geez I didn't even add it back to like half of the mons. The Regis all got it? Really?:

Archaludon = [Meteor Beam], Skull Bash, Shelter, Defog, Chain Lightning, Wind Breaker, Rebuild (might be too good for it given Stamina), Echo Chamber, [Brick Break], Sledgehammer Blow, Dragon Rage (might be too good for it given Stamina), [Smack Down], Signal Beam; Overcoat (over Stalwart).

Hydrapple = Shelter, Choke, Pluck, [Rollout], Dragon Rage, Snatch, Signal Beam, Lash Out, Natural Gift.

Gouging Fire = Skull Bash (not like it needs it), Rekindle (not like it needs it either), Rage, Dragon Rage; Prehistoric Might (as hidden ability).

Raging Bolt = Defog, Chain Lightning, Wind Breaker, Dragon Rage, Signal Beam; Protocrysalis (replaces Protosynthesis since Protosmosis feels a bit too obvious and toe-stepping on Archaludon) and Prehistoric Might (as hidden ability).

Iron Boulder = [Meteor Beam], Skull Bash, [Throat Chop], Chisel (might be too good on it), Psycho Boost, Accelrock, [Brick Break]; Sledgehammer Blow, [Smack Down], [Rock Blast]; Neuron Drive (replaces Quark Drive since Iron Jugulis will literally never use Neuron Drive) and Justified (as hidden ability).

Iron Crown = Skull Bash, Shrapnel Shot, Cutting Remark, Psycho Boost, Rebuild, [Brick Break], Sledgehammer Blow; Neuron Drive (replaces Quark Drive since Iron Jugulis will literally never use Neuron Drive, though it should maybe get Rune Drive or at least lose Psycho Boost if it does) and Justified (as hidden ability).

Terapagos = [Meteor Beam], Skull Bash, Shelter, Healing Stones, Peekaboo, Rollout, Signal Beam, Natural Gift.

Pecharunt (still unreleased) = Dire Claw, False Surrender, Choke, Hazardous Waste, Parry, Latent Venom, Snatch, Lash Out; Death Aura (as hidden ability).

Any errors are mine. Won't be around tomorrow to fix them. Going to go suffer else where now. Night.

A little late, but call it a Christmas present I guess because we're finally ready to reveal the results of the DLC2 Distribution Slate!

Note: Many moves suggested were already learned by the Pokemon they were being suggested for. Due to the number of suggestions there were like this, such suggestions are still reflected in the following results, so that's why you may see that we're giving something a move that it already has. This will be fixed when I eventually put them on the sheet

Additionally, I did tease a little surprise earlier, so now's a good time for that. After the last couple weeks, the council has been proposing a number of buffs to some weaker elements in the mod and we voted on them along with the distribution slate. The following will go through:
:revavroom:Revavroom - +Rapid Spin & Rebuild
:meloetta:Meloetta - +Psycho Boost
:oricorio-pau:Oricorio-Pa'u - +Unaware (Replaces Fairy Aura)
:oricorio:All Oricorios - +Heat Wave
:muk:Muk - +Jet Punch, Flip Turn, & Wash Away
:decidueye:Decidueye - +Vacuum Wave & Thunder Wave
:landorus:Wind Breaker - Now learned by Charizard, Vespiquen, Salamence, Rufflet, and Landorus
:darkrai:Darkrai - +Calm Mind & Trick
:brambleghast:Brambleghast - +Will-O-Wisp
:charizard:Zard Shards - Now replace Charizard's secondary typing instead of its entire typing with the Dragon (X) / Fire (Y) type. This makes Zard Shard X Zard Fire/Dragon instead of pure Dragon
:snorlax:Snorlax - +Explosion, Choke, Play Rough, Haze, Swords Dance, Tidy Up, and Stealth Rock
:dragonite:Skull Bash - Now learned by Dragonite, Haxorus, and Salamence
:zapdos:Defog - Now learned by Zapdos
:muk-alola:Hazardous Waste - Now counts hazards on both sides of the field, now caps at 400 BP
:vespiquen:Pluck - Now 70 BP, learned by Vespiquen
:metagross:Brick Break/Psychic Fangs/Sledgeammer Blow - Now 90 BP
:iron hands:Punching Glove/Razor Fang/Razor Claw/Quick Claw/Protective Pads - Now boost their respective moves by 30% instead of 20%
:tornadus-therian:Air Freshener - Now also gives the holder the effects of the ability Natural Cure
:magearna:Healer - Now heals the next Pokemon that comes in by 50% instead of 33%
:vaporeon:Mud Wash - Now removes the secondary effects of Mud moves
:breloom:Fairy Ringer - Now boosts the user's Atk instead of SpA
:pyroar:Pyroar - +Nasty Plot
:scream tail:Scream Tail - +Tail Glow & Moonblast

It'll take some time for me to get all of these coded, plus there's a nonzero chance that these have to wait until the January server-wide update to go live on the main server, so that leaves plenty of time for you all to discuss these results and the buffs and give any feedback. Either way, with all the distribution and these buffs, the metagame has been thoroughly shaken up, so January is shaping up to be a pretty wild month for VaporeMons!

I do also plan on having a roomtour on the main server this weekend (regardless of whether or not the changes are live), tentatively planned for Saturday December 30th to not interfere with anyone's New Year's plans, but I'll make a separate announcement in this thread once that's confirmed.

That's all for now, Merry Christmas!

the sheer amount of STUFF that got added is pretty overwhelming, so i figured i'd go over everything's potential impact on OU. mostly tmonning here

:venusaur: Nothing added really impacts its OU sets, but this is still a pretty threatening Sun sweeper, especially in a meta where Heatran kinda sucks.
:blastoise: Steely Spirit is funny but bad. the real win here is Rollout and Shelter for lower tier defensive sets.
:vileplume:Worse Venusaur.
:bellossom:Worse Lilligant.
:tentacruel:Honestly kinda heat with Life Dew, but mon ain't hitting OU with those stats.
:dodrio:lol
:dewgong:lol x2
:exeggutor:lol x3
:hitmonlee::hitmonchan:hitmontop is better than both of these
:hitmontop: mon's still bad tho
:rhyperior:Mon got a lot but it's still bad. Jolte Rhyp was better
:kingdra:Snipe Shot is epic but Rain squads prefer Inteleon
:electivire:nope
:magmortar:Smelt and Rekindle are pretty epic but this still isn't OU
:lapras:Cloyster eat your heart out. Still not OU tho
:porygon-z:This one's kinda heat. Adaptability Tera Electric Software Crash goes crazy. Hoping to see some folks experimenting with this.
:meganium:honestly got a lot but still lol
:feraligatr:All my Dark flavor moves got cut :skull:
:lanturn:Life Dew Lanturn goes hard. Still not OU tho
:granbull:Worse Clefable.
:skarmory:Actually goes crazy. Battle Spines is cool but the real killer is Steely Spirit, giving it both nuclear Iron Heads and a handy Electric neutrality. expecting this to be one of the most impactful of the distributions.
:smeargle:lol
:raikou:Outclass is aight but I'm still running Jolteon or Thundy.
:entei:Smelt and Raging Fury go hard but Gouging Fire probably does that better.
:suicune:Got a couple cool new tools but idk if I see the vision with it.
:sceptile:Legit got some crazy coverage but still isn't hitting OU lol
:blaziken:Blaziken is crazy. The new tools don't affect it much but it's still amazing regardless.
:swampert:Haven't seen this guy yet but I think it's kinda heat with Mud Wash. Probably the best team-supporting Mud Wash mon.
:plusle:lol
:minun:lol
:flygon:Exoskeleton Flygon is super heat in lower tiers but I'd prefer chomper in OU.
:metagross:Blunt Force goes really hard but I think other mons perform better at that role in OU.
:regirock:bad garg
:regice:bad kyurem
:registeel:bad
:latias:Latios seems generally better, but bulky CM Dragon Rage sets could be heat.
:latios:Pretty unaffected by the new stuff, but still a great mon.
:deoxys-defense: Probably pretty bad without Tera, but might be better than Cress at least?
:deoxys-speed: Broken. It's impossible to stop this mon from getting hazards up and impossible to remove them if the opponent keeps up pressure. This'll hopefully be banned eventually.
:rampardos:Blunt Force makes this an actual nuke, but it still isn't OU. Just run Terrakion.
:bastiodon:Rebuild and Shelter are cool for it but this mon still sucks.
:regigigas:Honestly pretty crazy with Prehistoric Might, but probably balanced? Time will tell.
:serperior:Thankfully we don't have to deal with Tera on this, but without Tera this mon has literally no coverage. Likely pretty good as a support mon, but Grass resists will keep it in check.
:emboar:Worse Terrakion. Still pretty heat tho
:zebstrika:Comically bad.
:excadrill:Legitimately heat. Chisel is cool coverage for mons like Zapdos and Moltres, and Mold Breaker makes it the only Ground (besides Tusk and Pyrooar) that can reliably beat Magnezone (and it's better than Tusk since it resists Echo Chamber). Also a spinner that ruins Gholdengo, which is nice. Definitely not the best of the new guys but I have faith in it.
:whimsicott:Nah
:scrafty:We have better fighters.
:cinccino:Worse Maushold.
:reuniclus:Could be cool, but I'm not gonna be the first guy to test this mon. zxgzxg mon gets Outclass so you gotta run it. Also good luck finding this mention lmao
:galvantula:Both Kilowattrel and Ribombee do Webs better.
:golurk:Rage Fist is cool, Prehistoric Might is cool. This seems like the kind of mon that can cook in the right hands, but it's not gonna be VR-worthy.
:cobalion:I've heard this guy is kinda crazy but idk if I see the vision. Mon is like, just okay offensively, and can't touch relevant defensive pieces like Gholdengo and Zapdos whatsoever. Might need to see it in action before I decide for sure.
:terrakion:Now this one is actually crazy. Band Terrakion has literally no switchins besides bulky Gholdengo, and it completely runs through teams when paired with hazards or even minimal chip. Will likely need to be nerfed in the future.
:virizion:the bad one
:kyurem:Crazy strong mon. Permafrost being a real abil for it is really nice, and while losing Roost means it's forced into more offensive roles, it's still REALLY good in those roles.
:keldeo:Pretty heat now that Pex isn't an answer to it. Milo kinda takes over that role, but since most Milos are PhysDef you kinda just get to run wild. Looking forward to seeing this guy get experimented with.
:meowstic:nope
:malamar:The bad Contrary mon. No Stellar Tera Blast means there's no reason to run this.
:incineroar:Kinda cool, but not OU.
:primarina:Just run Milo.
:toucannon:Worse Cinccino
:araquanid:Worse Spidops
:comfey:Uhhh... Triage DKiss is kinda nice as a revenge killing tool ig?
:minior:This shouldn't have gotten Cloud Nine but it's shit either way so like, whatever.
:necrozma:Mon got a ton of random stuff lol. Still not gonna be good in a Screens-less OU though.
:alcremie:Dragalge does bulky Color Change better.
:archaludon:I've heard this mon is good in OU so it's probably still good here. Haven't seen it yet tho.
:hydrapple:Shelter is epic for bulky sets and Dragon Rage is really good for it. Basically another flavor of Hoodra.
:raging-bolt:Very solid mon. Dragon Rage and Prehistoric Might might be cool on it, but overall it's just really good.
:gouging-fire:Honestly been underwhelmed by this. I was sure it'd be broken in Sun but honestly, it's pretty manageable (but still very good). Will probably be broken with time tho.
:iron-crown:Worst new Paradox by far. Might be cool on PsyTerrain but otherwise is pretty bad.
:iron-boulder:Haven't seen this yet but I can't imagine it's not good. Rollout and Accelerock are both pretty cool on it.
:terapagos:Haven't seen this yet but I can't imagine it's good. Without the Tera form this mon is really underwhelming.
:pecharunt:Doesn't exist yet but Dire Claw and Latent Venom are both pretty cool on it.

and here's a quick VR I did to summarize my thoughts:
Busted: :skarmory::deoxys-speed::regigigas::terrakion::gouging-fire:
Good: :venusaur::porygon-z::blaziken::swampert::latias::latios::serperior::excadrill::cobalion::kyurem::keldeo::archaludon::hydrapple::raging-bolt::iron-boulder::pecharunt:
D Tier Funnymon: :blastoise::kingdra::smeargle::raikou::suicune::sceptile::flygon::metagross::deoxys-defense::emboar::reuniclus::golurk::incineroar::comfey::necrozma::iron-crown:

:revavroom:Revavroom - Spin is pretty nice role compression option for Misty Terrain teams. Otherwise idk if this matters much.
:meloetta:Meloetta - Mon finally gets a relatively spammable STAB for Choiced sets, which will hopefully help it stand out from the competition (now added to by the Lati twins).
:oricorio-pau:Oricorio-Pa'u - Pretty much irrelevant for OU lol. Kinda heat as a setup mon that beats other setup mons tho.
:oricorio:All Oricorios - Heat Wave is solid coverage for the Oris, particularly Pa'u, but time will tell if it matters much.
:muk:Muk - I still think this mon sucks, but the new tools are all pretty great for it.
:decidueye:Decidueye - These are irrelevant lol. TWave helps it compete with Serp but the snake is still better 9 times out of 10.
:landorus:Wind Breaker - Uhhh Lando appreciates this but idt the rest really matter for OU.
:darkrai:Darkrai - Return of the King. Mon is very clearly fine in OU now so hopefully these tools help it to be like, actually good.
:brambleghast:Brambleghast - Lol this does not matter for OU. Wisp is nice for it tho ig.
:charizard:Zard Shards - Gouging Fire chokes out any hopes for Zard-X viability, but maybe we can revisit this if that mon gets banned.
:snorlax:Snorlax - Insanely contrived buffs, but Tidy Up is pretty crazy so maybe it can make something happen.
:dragonite:Skull Bash - This one was my idea, and while having coverage for Fairies is cool, the two best defensive Fairies in OU are Steel-neutral so idt it'll matter much up there. Maybe in lower tiers (ban Mence from UU already please lol).
:zapdos:Defog - Defensive Zapdos is winning.
:muk-alola:Hazardous Waste - Finally actually usable. Still probably bad though lol since most of the abusers suck. Sneasler hazard stack is about to pop off tho.
:vespiquen:Pluck - Uhhhh this move is still bad since Flying Press exists. Maybe next time.
:metagross:Brick Break/Psychic Fangs/Sledgehammer Blow - Minor buff but doesn't really affect the viability of these moves.
:iron hands:Punching Glove/Razor Fang/Razor Claw/Quick Claw/Protective Pads - Uhhh these have a reason to be run over Bat now. Probably still very rare and mostly irrelevant in the grand scheme of things.
:tornadus-therian:Air Freshener - Lowkey kinda nutty, and completely changes how the item is used. Not as good as Lum on sweepers since it requires you to switch out to activate, but defensive mons and potentially tanks will love this item. Looking forward to see it be used.
:magearna:Healer - Finally an impactful ability. Offense is eating good with this.
:vaporeon:Mud Wash - Folks were confused about this nerf but the fact is that Muddy Water is not a fun move to play against when you can just randomly lose to an Accuracy drop against a mon that can easily fish for them. This won't be super impactful on OU but it's for the better in the long term.
:breloom:Fairy Ringer - Irrelevant, but at least there's a reason to run it on Breloom now and it helps Umbreon be less passive.
:pyroar:Pyroar - Honestly huge, and I'm shocked more folks haven't been talking about it. Pyroar is now SUPER dangerous as a Sand wincon with Sand Rush, as at +2 it's extremely hard to handle reliably without one of the Jet Punch mons (who've been going out of style anyway). Even outside of Sand, Supreme Overlord combined with NP makes it an absolute nuke, and a nightmare in lategame for slower teams. This one will be fun to build with, and I'll probably try it out soon.
:scream tail:Scream Tail - Whatever. Moonblast is nice but this mon is still passive as shit.

Popping in real quick with 2 announcements

First, we will have a roomtour tomorrow at 4 PM EST on the main Pokemon Showdown server! This'll be the first roomtour with all the new distribution and buffs, so be sure to try out all the new broken stuff!

Secondly, Terrakion will receive Muscle Memory as a hidden ability, replacing Blunt Force. I could sit here and explain why Blunt Force Terrak is broken despite theoretically being walled by a bunch of stuff (which did NOT work out in practice), but I'll just show you this screenshot and you'll get it:

(no boosting item or stat boosts on this terrakion btw)
This does likely kill any viability Terrakion could have, but given the selection of new abilities we're allowed to give it, anything but Blunt Force would've caused this to happen, so it is what it is. Terrakion can at least be a decent lategame cleaner spamming Chisel once the Rock resists are weakened.

That's all for now, see you tomorrow!

Some quick takeaways
- Regigigas comfortably being #1 in usage is a very funny visual. As for how it did, it was pretty good, getting numerous KOs with its wide coverage and huge amount of power behind its Double-Edge, but it's far from broken at the moment, since it's not very fast, gets worn down fast, and its strongest move in Double-Edge both wears it down and isn't impossible to switch into
- Darkrai also got a lot of uses, also being pretty good now that it's gotten Trick back. No Calm Mind Darkrais were used in this tournament, but those sets should still have potential as well as a Nasty Plot replacement
- I saw a Cobalion 2HKO max SpD Iron Hands with Echo Chamber. VaporeMons.
- Rain made an appearance in a roomtour for the first time in awhile, doing pretty average with a 2-2 record. Basculegion is still a pretty scary mon and Rain appreciates having Archaludon as an option now
- Vespiquen's decent performance in this tournament gives me the startling realization that it's, like, the 3rd or 4th best Healing Stones user? Weird to think about but I think it's true. In general, the mon has a lot of pretty good matchups like Gliscor, Iron Valiant, and Lando and sets Stones for free. Still stupidly passive (has U-Turn but meh), and competes with the numerous other defensive Flying-types we have but it's still something to think about
- Primarina had a pretty good showing, flexing the one thing it really has over Milotic, being Wash Away, using it to great effect throughout the tournament
- People were very excited about Mud Wash Swampert, as evidenced by its 7 uses. 29% winrate for it is pretty bad and I still think it's quite mid compared to all of our other Waters and Grounds, but in battle it usually put in a little work
- Deoxys-Speed only had a 50% winrate, but Deo-S HO still goes quite hard, definitely still something on council's radar

And that's all for now! See you soon!

Hey guys. Coming to talk about recent metagame sets I've been employing to varied results on ladder.

:volcanion:
Volcanion is an incredible Pokémon in the metagame right now thanks to how it takes advantage of the best defensive core in the metagame right now (MiloZone + bulky Ground hazard setter), while having a lot of great intera1ctions versus many notable threats like choice locked Enam, non Tbolt Val and the like.

:ss/Volcanion:
Volcanion @ Heavy Duty Boots / Expert Belt
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Ability: Water Absorb
Modest Nature
- Steam Eruption
- Flamethrower / Fire Blast
- Sludge Bomb
- Earth Power / Focus Blast

Water Absorb and its Fire typing allow it to take advantage if the vast majority of offensive and defensive Water types in the tier rn, especially tier baby Milotic, and essentially guarantee a switch, which is a problem because Milotic is supposed to act as most standard team's switch in to Water and Fire typed Pokemon. Combine that with it throwing out essentially super Scald and it can be a headache for bulkier teams to find consistent switchins into it that aren't extremely specially bulky threats like AV Glowking, Blissey and Goodra-Hisui with heavy SpD investment. Even with Pokémon like that, Steam Eruption and the right move on Expert Belt variants can put these Pokemon in an annoying position.

:archaludon:
Arch has taken off as a new favourite bulky Steel type for the Vaporemon metagame, as its fantastic statline and tools to take full advantage of said statline makes it a great choice for alot of builds rn. From bulky sets to offensive Rain variants it can add alot of assets to a team.

:ss/archaludon:
Archaludon @ Leftovers
Ability: Stamina
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Body Press
- Dragon Rage
- Stealth Rock
- Protect
Archaludon @ Eject Pack
Ability: Stamina
Tera Type: Steel
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Electro Shot
- Draco Meteor
- Echo Chamber

The first set I run on certain teams that employ Grassy Surge to get extra turn of Lefties + halving EQ damage, which allows Arch to get up stat boosts comfortably while setting Rocks. Stamina + maximum investment turns alot of physical attackers without SE hits into stat boosting fodder, bolstering the power of Body Press. Dragon Rage is the main reason why the set is as good as it is, allowing it to boost it's SpA everytime it takes a hit, making physical attackers have to think twice about hitting. Ofc it can take advantage of Pokémon switching out to set Stealth Rocks up for it's team. It works wonders against alot of squads and can effectively trade well against many physical threats due to getting stronger everytime they hit them.

The other set is ran on Rain to ensure it's matchup versus the likes of Rillaboom while just being an all around devastating offensive threat. I run Eject Pack + Draco to keep up momentum to provide safe switchins for my Rain breakers, and Electro Shot can do big loads of damage versus most bulky Steels especially on successive uses. Echo Chamber is once again a nutty STAB option that can be a bitch to come into considering the follow up 1.5 boost.

:weavile:
Weavile is an interesting Pokémon in Vaporemons. With Milotic being one of the chief Pokemon in the tier period, and Magearna being a huge presence always lurking around - Weavile seems like an odd choice tonrun on a team. Imo, SD, the chief choice in OU imonis a fools errand. It can work, but imo unboosted Weavike is very trivial for Vape teams to handle between multiple options, and SD van often be immediately forced out after scoring 1 kill if any. But I believe one set in particular can be very potent if piloted correctly.

:ss/weavile:
Weavile @ Choice Band
Ability: Green-Eyed / Snow Cloak
Tera Type: Dark
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Triple Axel
- Knock Off
- Ice Shard
- Ceaseless Edge / Low Kick

Choice Band gives Weavile the immediate power it needs to muscle past the multiple resists that run around within the tier thanks to how much progress STAB Knock Off and Ceasless Edge can force against a team resists be damned. I usually start immediately clicking Knock Off with Weavile, getting rid of as much items as possible, which is important to wear down its resists. Then when the targets that need to lose items are gone, I switch to spamming Ceaseless Edge to rack up at least 2 layers putting alot of pressure on a Milotic, and after that I click Banded Axel that start to hurt alot when no Lefties and multiple layers of Spikes are factored in. Its a fun breaker, and if ur dedicated wall is gone Weavile can generalky go ham versus most teams since its really hard to swap into banded Axels.

Hearthflame is broken. SD Dual STAB + Play Rough genuinely solos any squad that cannot outspeed and revenge kill it LMAO. I can't think of anything that can handle this thing when it starts setting up, so it basically makes straight fat teams a liability if they lack a fast revenge killer.

A couple quick announcements!

Now that we've had our post-DLC2 Distribution Slate metagame for awhile now, now seems like the right time to start the process of updating the Viability Rankings, so VR Noms are now open for the next couple days!

For how to make VR nominations, refer to the guidelines below:
As for how to make VR nominations, while the standard of your nominations doesn't have to be as high as the OU VR thread or something, you still should post intelligently. This means:
- When nomming a Pokemon, you should give specific reasons as to why you think it should be ranked in a certain spot with support.
- Your noms don't have to be super long or anything, just a couple sentences can work, but they need to have some intelligent thought put into them if you want to convince the council to make the changes you want.
- If you're able to, providing replays of the Pokemon in action is recommended, especially if the Pokemon you're nominating is unranked or D-Rank currently.
After a couple days, the council will formally discuss the nominations and publish an updated VR. In the meantime, I'll also try to get the Role Compendium updated as well and I'm also accepting new sample team submissions since we definitely need more DLC2 teams up there.

Lastly, we will have a roomtour on the main server tomorrow at 4 PM EST! Hope to see you there!

That's all for now, see you soon!

Alright, finally done writing up my post. This one's a long one, so I'm gonna spoiler it so folks can pick and choose which section they wanna read.
:gliscor: NEW to A+: Not much needs to be said about this one. Glisc was banned in DLC 1 meta for how much it centralized the hazard game, and it's back and doing similar things now. Thankfully the overall power level has increased, and Ice moves are more common than at any other point in this gen, so it can't pull off quite the same team-walling feats that it could before its ban, but it's still incredibly good at what it does.

:kyurem: NEW to A+: Thankfully this thing lost Roost, but Specs sets are still disgustingly strong, and it can easily run DD to get the jump on opponents thinking they can safely revenge it. Struggles a bit with common defensive staples like Magnezone and Milotic, but it has the tools to get around them if it wants to.

:skarmory: NEW to A+: Skarmory without the Electric weakness. I don't think much more needs to be said lol. Mon (in combination with the Justified nerf) has pretty much replaced Corv as the tier's Steel/Flying type, and it does all the same things as Corv, but fatter and with Spikes. Very valuable tool, and a good third option for hazard stack compared to Gliscor and Ting-Lu.

:deoxys-Speed: NEW to A: No surprise here, this mon's pretty great. Hazard lead sets are honestly kinda mid, but offensive Deo has a ton of potential and is very threatening, particularly in Psychic Terrain.

:gouging-fire: NEW to A: Very interesting and shockingly balanced mon, all things considered. Raging Fury and Rekindle completely change how this mon wants to play compared to base, as it becomes basically unstoppable after it's eaten a few hits. I've also experimented with PhysDef and had a lot of success with it. Might become broken down the line, but for now I think it's a great addition to the tier.

:raging-bolt: NEW to A: Special Kingambit but without all the hard counters we made for that one. Still struggles a bit with Grounds and Magnezone, but CM is super dangerous and can easily clean house if you're not prepared for it.

:archaludon: NEW to A-: This one surprised me a lot, but between its base kit and some amazing new additions in Dragon Rage and Echo Chamber, Arch has become a very nice tool for a lot of teams. It definitely has some competition with Hoodra, but I think it's better than the snail on most squads that aren't running Healing Stones.

:blaziken: NEW to A-: Very solid sweeper, particularly in a meta without Pex. Struggles quite a bit with Milo but otherwise is very difficult to slow down on well-built HO.

:darkrai: NEW to A-: Slightly weaker here than it is in OU thanks to it lacking Nasty Plot and Hypnosis, but with the generally slower pace of the meta this mon has shown to be a solid option on a lot of teams, either with Scarf sets or with CM sets to try and sweep.

:keldeo: NEW to B+: Water Veil is honestly super nice for this mon, giving it some very threatening Sub CM sets or just passive recovery to help offset chip on Specs sets. It's in a similar spot to Blaziken where no Pex is awesome for it but Milo kinda eats it alive, but if you can get it out of the way, Keldeo goes in.

:regigigas: NEW to B+: Another shockingly balanced mon. I was sure this would either be broken or terrible, but it's honestly just good. Feels like a physical Darkrai of sorts, with all the coverage it could ever need, but it just doesn't quite hit hard enough without hitting super-effectively to really break through fat cores. Definitely a menace into frailer squads though, as it can easily go 2-for-1 thanks to its huge natural bulk, not to mention Prehistoric Might allowing it to really screw over sweepers.

:serperior: NEW to B: This probably needs a bit more experimentation, but generally Serp is a solid utility mon and wincon that relies on Grass resists having their lives terminated in order to do any serious sweeping. It's alright, but it really hates how prevalent Magnezone is as well as how many high-tier mons naturally outspeed it.

:excadrill: NEW to B-: Solid Sand sweeper and spinner. Hates how common the metal birds and Magnezone are, but with careful play and good Cocks usage you can knock them out of the way in order for it to sweep.

:primarina: NEW to B-: I initially wrote this off as worse Milo, but access to Wash Away and higher Special Attack are honestly pretty relevant and do give it a role on certain squads. Generally Milo is still better though.

:iron-crown: NEW to C+: Psyspam funnymon. I don't think it really has a niche outside of that, but it's pretty good on Psyspam teams!

:metagross: NEW to C-: Uhhhh, it hits really hard! And has priority! Have I mentioned how hard it hits?

And here's a few other new mons that should probably be ranked, but i'm only gonna write about them once I've seen them some more: :venusaur::porygon-z::swampert::latias::latios::cobalion::hydrapple::iron-boulder::pecharunt::kingdra::suicune::reuniclus:
:iron-valiant: S- to S: Just consolidating the S tiers here since Pult doesn't feel much better than either of these guys, though recent Revavroom-related developments have led me to believe Valiant may even be outright better than Pult.

:ogerpon-wellspring: S- to S: See above, but also this mon is fucking stupid into stall. Run Hoodra or die basically.

:meloetta-pirouette: A+ to S: This mon is broken. It's too fast for how strong it is, and basically invalidates all slower offensive mons because it can come in and easily one-shot them after like, just one round of rocks chip. Regardless, Melo is extremely versatile, with its STABs being strong enough that you can pretty much pick and choose between Knock Off, U-Turn, Rapid Spin, Triple Axel, or really whatever you want for its last two slots. It also doesn't help that defensive Ghosts like Gholdengo and Skeledirge have been on a downturn in usage for months.

:kingambit: B+ to A-: Well, we nerfed two of this mon's hardest counters, so it makes sense that it would rise back to its former glory. Or, well, sort of. Corviknight and Tauros are both still quite good, and they both still beat Kingambit. Not to mention, Crabominable has recently seen more exploration, and it also destroys Gambit, so while the mon is definitely better now, I think a small rise is good enough for the moment.

:ceruledge: B- to B+: Mon's been way better than B- for a while now, though I probably would've put it higher if not for the Justified nerf. Offensive Ceru is just very very good, and its theoretical 4MSS doesn't actually come up too often in practice. Very consistent breaker all things considered, as long as you're careful with what you Knock Off.

:greninja: B- to B+: Another underrated mon, though Sludge Wave also made this mon a lot more accessible than before. Pretty solid breaker/cleaner, with Protean sets being very scary in midgame and Battle Bond sets easily tearing through teams in lategame.

:weavile: B- to B: TAxel honestly didn't change this mon's position too much, since it still struggles with the same top-tier mons it did before (namely Crab, Magearna, and the occasional Tauros), but it's still noteworthy enough to warrant a small increase in viability.

:rillaboom: C+ to B-: Over time, Rilla's unique traits over Shaymin have proved to be more and more valuable on Grassy Terrain squads, and I think a rise would better reflect its actual viability on these builds.

:azumarill: C to B-: We underrated this mon pretty heavily imo. While it definitely competes for a teamslot with Milo by virtue of typing, it also does completely different things, and notably preys on a lot of common defensive cores currently. Teams relying on Milo as their PhysDef Water resist get blown up by Banded Play Rough, and other common options like Crab and Lando can't really pivot around you safely at all. Requires a certain amount of support in the builder to really get going, but is definitely worth it in practice.

:hatterene: C to B-: Another underrated Fairy. This mon is just good on a lot of offense builds, plain and simple. Magic Bounce is such good hazard removal in the current meta that it's really hard to pass up, and the fact that Hatt also provides a Fairy and a pretty convincing wincon is the icing on the cake for it.

:indeedee: C to C+: Psyspam got a lot of new tools this DLC between Deo-S and Iron Crown, so I think a small rise is in order for Indeedee.

:blissey: C- to C: Stall kinda needs this mon to function right now, and while stall isn't great, it's also one of the best answers to beasts like Kyurem and Raging Bolt, and just about the only cleric in the game, so theoretically fat balance could run it as well.

:volcanion: C- to C: G-Luke piloted this mon pretty well and I think it has a lot of potential. It could definitely go higher, but I wanna see it in action a bit more first.
:corviknight: A+ to A-: The Justified nerf hit this mon hard, though it would probably still be pretty high if not for Skarmory's addition to the tier. Corv is certainly still viable, as its defensive typing with Justified is great to counter mons like Roaring Moon and Kingambit, but overall it's generally worse than Skarm.

:alomomola: A to A-: Over time, this mon has just become more and more exploitable, particularly by Ogerpon-Wellspring, who easily comes in and sets up on it. And trust me, that is NOT a mon you want to let in for free.

:crabominable: A to A-: This mon's placement was more of a legacy ranking, as it hadn't really been used much in the modern meta. Realistically, newer additions to the format such as Milotic, Shaymin, and the Latis all annoy Crab quite a lot, and make any offensive roles it's trying to fill pretty much null and void until they're removed.

:shaymin: A to A-: This guy is just really exploitable. It works well for fatter GTerrain balance teams, but honestly those are a lot worse than Rilla GTerrain offense. Thankfully this mon also fits well on non-Terrain focused teams, but it's still not quite good enough to be A ranked.

:manaphy: A- to B+: I still think this mon sucks. The healer buff was nice for it, but generally it struggles to set up and do anything more meaningful than like, 60% to one mon before going down. The only matchup where this mon really cooks is against hard stall, but take my word for it -- stall is terrible in this meta.

:tauros-paldea-blaze: A- to B: Rekindle nerf killed this mon. Even beyond that though, Gouging Fire is pretty much just a better Tauros a lot of the time, so it's difficult to justify this mon except as a wall on certain squads, which isn't really worth such a high ranking.

:enamorus: B+ to B: There's just better breakers, and even better special Fairies too. Mons like Magnezone and Glowking annoy Enam to no end, and CM sets suffer from the Meloetta problem, where pretty much every team has at least one way to easily revenge it. Most of the time, this mon's risk isn't worth the reward.

:slowbro: B+ to B: Over time, Hoodra has pretty much cemented itself as the best Shelter user, and Crabominable or Milotic both make much better defensive Waters than Slowbro could ever be. The meta just isn't at all friendly to Bro right now, and the fact that this mon loses harder than anything to Tspikes really just adds to its issues.

:hoopa-unbound: B to B-: This is really one of those on-paper mons. In practice, it's incredibly awkward to fit on teams, and most of the time the best you can get from it is a trade, which is fine and all, but from the amount of effort it takes to get into that position, it just isn't worth the cost. Another mon that would be much better if stall were at all usable.

:palafin: B to C+: Mons like Shaymin and Milotic completely shut this down, making it very awkward to use as a Rain breaker. Most of the time, you're better off running more consistent options like Basculegion or Inteleon.

:ogerpon-cornerstone: B- to C+: This mon seems pretty mid in the current lead landscape. Deo-S completely shuts it down, and other mons like CEdge Weavile also completely destroy it, not to mention the ever-looming threat of Spin Magnezone. It still has a role, but B- seems a bit high for what it can offer.

:ribombee: B- to C+: Webs are just really bad in the current meta, what with how good removal is. Even if you run both Gholdengo and Ogerpon-Wellspring, you still can't reliably handle a lot of removal long-term, not to mention how many teams are running 3-4 mons that are completely immune to Webs.

:scyther: B- to C: This mon was more of a meta call in DLC1, and the top tiers are a bit less friendly to it now. Likely needs more experimentation, but for now I think a drop is reasonable so as not to mislead folks.

:lycanroc-dusk: C+ to C: The first mon in the "outclassed by Iron Boulder" gang. Still a pretty solid breaker, but Iron Boulder does cleaner roles far better than Lycan ever could.

:typhlosion-hisui: C+ to C: Sun has a lot more competition for teamslots now than it did in DLC1, and Hyph is the big loser of that change. Still definitely usable, but Proto mons, Venusaur, and Cinderace make it hard to find room for it now.

:dragalge: C+ to C-: This was probably always overrated. Realistically it's at best Blissey with Haze and TSpikes, and Blissey is currently C-, so...

:kleavor: C+ to C-: The second mon in the "outclassed by Iron Boulder" gang, but this one also just genuinely sucks. It's too slow for what it wants to do, and even with Mantis Claw it struggles to break past common walls like Great Tusk and Magearna. C- is honestly just to give folks a chance to experiment, as I personally feel it should be UR.

:fezandipiti: C+ to UR: Another mon that's only been good on paper. I had some success with it in DLC1, but as a defensive Fairy, the ground weakness sucks SOO bad for it. It's really difficult to use, and doesn't offer that much reward for the risk, so unfortunately I don't think it deserves to be ranked.

:weezing-galar: C+ to UR: Take Fezandipiti, make it worse, and you get Weezing-G. The only reason this mon was ranked so high was as a support piece for Iron Valiant with Misty Surge, but recent developments have shown that Revavroom is far better at that job, making this mon pretty much obsolete.

:azelf: C to C-: This one is more tenuous, but with all the new competition for it on PsySpam, I don't think it's as easy to just slap Azelf on a team anymore. There's definitely still an argument to be made for it, but I'd need to see it in action to be confident on its placement.

:ursaluna: C to C-: This mon blows. Every top tier beats it, there's nothing it comes in on, and the sheer amount of Fighting and Water-types in the tier makes it pretty much impossible to do anything with. Yet another mon that would be better if stall existed at all.

:empoleon: C to UR: Why was this ranked? It's not good, it was never good, and it was literally never used.

:lucario: C to UR: The biggest on-paper mon of them all. I have NEVER seen this mon do anything, even after the Steadfast buff, and I don't want to rank mons based solely on guesswork. Give this mon some results and I'd consider ranking it again.

:slither-wing: C- to UR: Take the issues of Tauros, combine them with the issues of Hyphlosion, and you get Slither Wing. This mon no longer has any place on Sun or anywhere else thanks mostly to the addition of Gouging Fire.

Some Very Quick Takeaways:
- Overall somewhat normal roomtour with the probably the biggest story of it being the Healing Spam team that explains why there's 5 uses of Ampharos. While it didn't do particularly well in terms of record (2-3 in battles that were actually played) it definitely made an impact due to the sheer amount of healing the team had to allow it to attempt to outlast you, between Cud Chew Aguav Berry Ampharos, multiple Life Dew uses, Pluck Zapdos-G, and of course Healing Stones. Also in the latest episode of very silly Synchronize Mew gimmicks, the Mew on the team with Trick Sticky Barb with Supercell Slam to cause 50% recoil if a Ground-type switched in. Funny.
- Otherwise, we mainly saw normal teams, from offense, to balance, to rain, to PsySpam, with some lower viability heroes having some good showings like Kleavor, Revavroom-Ruchbah (on a slightly modified version of my Misty Terrain team), and Greninja (who's underrated if we're being real)
- Shoutouts to Pecharunt going crazy in its one appearance with Hazardous Waste, the move is still gimmicky af but the recent buff we gave it has to be one of my favorites, it's so funny. Plus, being a ridiculous physically defense Ghost while Meloetta-Pirouette has become a hot topic is certainly convenient for it in general

And that's all! VaporeMons has been pretty quiet as of late but rest assured, we have some things cooking for the later parts of the month, so stay tuned for that. See you soon, and keep the VR nominations and Sample Team submissions coming!

I haven't decided on where Pecha lies in our metagame because I have not used it seriously at all. Pecha has alot of solid traits and a bunch of new tools at it's disposal in the migration to VaporeMons but I don't think most of that cuts it unfortunately. As I said, I'm the only pwrson who used it and I didn't use a "serious" set so I have no current opinions on it's VR placement atm.

The 4 mons that are currently in S atm imo define the tier more or less. Iron Valiant as per usual as a million and one sets and can always find a way to pull a new thing out of its ass and pull it off with pretty good results. Ofc no Tera hurts its offensive potential but only slightly, especially since nothing can Tera on it in return. SD Booster, Specs, CM + 3A and LO Mixed AoA paired with Rev have all been smash hits in making players feel stressed out, and shoukd always be prepped for. While I don't think Melo is a broken Pokémon or even necessarily the best thing in the tier rn, I agree that the offensive utility that it provides is second to none. Dual STABs + Knock Off hits everything in the tier, leaving its last slot free for whatever it needs, be it Triple Axel for bulky Grounds, U-turn to pivot, or even a cheeky Rapid Spin. Dancing Shoes also makes it deceptively bulky thanks to hazard immunity. Its a top threat, but recent metagame developments like PhysDef Ghold, very bulky Zapdoses, Skarmory and new addition Pecha keeps it on it's toes. I still maintain the opinion that Hearthflame > Wellspring, and while Wash Away immunity and no Roxks weakness is cool and all, I don't think it compares to how easily an Ogerpon-H can simply WIN versus amything that doesn't outpace it, and with a 110 speed tier, the list of things it does creep is very high. It having a better matchup versus all Dragons who are all jumping up to be big threats also gives further credence to it's success imo. Mon is just too good. Pult is Pult. Similar to Valiant, it has numerous viable sets like SubHex, Specs and the new Tie-Dye Band, + having a crucial role as the fastest unboosted sweeper is pretty important for it's cause imo. As mentioned before, Dragons are pretty good rn and Pult is arguably the best one, so expect this thing to put in work whenever its on a team.

For some notable rises, I put Weavile in A- from its B- initial ranking bevause I think despite all of its flaws its one of the most consistent progress makers in the game right now, and having something that can punish the existence of Gliscor imo is a good enough gu for me. Volcanion is also somsthing in B+, rising from C-. Volc is just that guy. Most team's fat cores revolve around MiloZone which is completely destroyed by Volc, Milotic in particular, thanks to preying on the Water moves with Water Absorb. Give it an expert belt if you have great hazard control and suddenly evsn Glowking and Goodra Hisui are having a hard time swapping around it. Steam Eruption is a stupid spammable move as well, so it's no surprise that it gets mileage out of it.

What does Delphox do? I placed it in C+ rank because Fire Fairy sounds cool but I have no idea of what it actually does in the metagame. Please, anyone with experience using it can offer an explanation as to what makes this Pokémon good.

:mew: C to C+: Deceptively strong wallbreaker with Synchronize + Recoil moves + Life Orb for a ton of extra chip. Psycho Boost is also helpful in gimping Tusk which can eat Flare Blitz and Wild Charge. Additionally, it still has its Mew movepool, so it can recover any chip it takes or set up hazards on a switch. I don't think the specific bulky set Abyssal Human was running is the most optimal one but I think bulky Mew has potential too. It does take chip pretty fast and is a mid-speed wall breaker in fast offense economy, but its damage output and general Synchronize bullshit cannot be ignored.

i had more but i got sniped by literally everyone. sad!

unfortunately came to late with an actual post sooo oh well

:iron valiant: -> S: This is a pretty simple one,... it has a lot of elements of suprise and very very hard to punish or prep for every set... this was stupid to rank before lower and i think i saw it while testing being stupid good. I think its on par with the other S tier I have. Hypnosis sets are dumb and can just cheese through anything it wishes to... why does this set exist

https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen9vaporemons-2040135529-wq3plu4ewsyataml5x9yjo58aeqnzxzpw
https://replay.pokemonshowdown.com/gen9vaporemons-2040129216-ck2hkr6k1y3mh7u3djjhqfbfe9zf94bpw

:meloetta-pirouette: -> S: This is in S tier pokemon... it can do everything in one slot, speed control, be good on hazard stack, distrubt enemies via knock off, strong stabs, sound immunity cuz fuck echo chamber.... last slot can be anything from knock off, rapid spin, triple axel, etc. Idt anything else is as deserving of it as this pokemon.

:Slowking-Galar: -> A+: Slowking-g is pretty amazing... usually it doesnt run AV here (sometimes it does but not often cuz boots and chilly are often to good to pass up.) Sooo yeah, it can take on a lot of stuff thanks to the customization in its spread and its moveset is usually future sight, sludge bomb, chilly with a last of flame, surf, t wave, slack off, ice beam, etc and it can be customized to do a lot of things. Like colbur+ t wave can make jugulis be paralyzed, shuca + surf can screw over great tusk, black sludge can give it longevity and fuck over trick users.

:Roaring Moon: -> A: This thing is great on hail teams... with baseball bat you can spam knock so much and esp with a free speed boost making you amazing sped control, baseball bat boosting ur moves by a lot, and nothing really wanting to take knock off in this meta esp stab and when u can u-turn in and out of the battle. There is very little offensive counterplay to it and defensive conuterplay can get worn down over time.

:kyurem: -> A: This thing has very little answers that can take it on super well.. with ice beam, freeze dry, and draco you have very minimal pokemon that can safely answer it well... obv answers exist such as av mage, magnezone, AV slowking-g or sp. def ones can scout it, protect on certain pokemon can help a lot, etc. But it can just click buttons vs more BO or balance teams freely adn also fish for freezes and with a lot of hazard removal support this can easily break through would be walls

:raging bolt: -> A-: With booster and dragon rage it can be a very insane threat in a game and just 1v1 most defensive pokemon like magnezone, iron hands, gliscor, slowking-g, etc. Thunderclap is a nightmare for HO to deal with and can clean most things out of the game. Great tusk is a nightmare and ting lu is a pain, and so is smth like dragapult but when you get going with booster + CM boosts you can really clean games. Prehistoric might is also a good ability that i think deserves more but its a niche thing

:darkrai: -> A-: Darkrai losing NP is alr a big blow but losing hypnosis to... well that sucks. Darkrai often times doesnt have enough power.... esp with CM and not NP sooo smth like milotic isnt very scared since it resists both of its stabs and if its LO then its taking a lto of chip damage and if its TDB then its not using dark stab... its very good still TDB can catch a lot of pokemon off guard, CM can still go ham and the sp. def boost can help vs smth like thunderclap or just special pokemon like dragapult.

:tauros-paldea-blaze: -> B-: Poor thing... but thank god it got nerfed... yeah its not very good when u can just switch into ur special attacker and play more carefully... it obv can take over games but the rate it does is much elss frequent esp contact punishing vs punishing on switch out makes it so its much easier to play around.

:ceruledge: -> B+: With offensive sets being much better and defensive sets being plenty good at screwing over magnezone you have a pretty good pokemon.. it can spam choke pretty often and making defensive counterplay pretty limited over the course of the game when u heal block the opponent so much. Justified is such a great ability for it as it can setup on pokemon like kingambit, darkrai, meow, rillaboom, zama, melo p, etc.

:swampert: -> B-: Very good wall into jolteon esp... and poses a big threat to smth like cinderace, iron hands, magnezoene, can weaken iron moth fiery dance, and can make it so their fire and electric moves hit like a wet noodle and makes playing around smth like iron hands, cind, flamemask, volcarona, and ceruledge much easier

:okidogi: -> B-: Very fun mon, clicks hazardous waste on hazard stack and smth is dying ... with blunder policy you can even get a speed boost and with SD you have a very strong SD that makes most poison immunities not want to have anything to do with you. Still niche but i believe it can be better

:thundurus-therian: -> C+: Great iron hands answer on such a team and can take advantage of pokemon such as dondozo, corv, and general passivity of some pokemon.. thanks to volt absorb it has a decent amount of setup on HO and the ability to force out a lot of pokemon thanks to its power, still very niche, not that fast, and immediate power is lacking sometimes but it gets the job don on there

:moltres-galar: -> C+: It is indeed a pokemon that can do pretty well esp after the justified nerfs... with fiery wrath and wind breaker being 2 very good options that it can use. it is also able to rack up berserk boost thanks to berries and give it even more pressure late game... Still competes with jugulis, walled by mage, milotic, prim, ting lu, valiant, enamorus are very annoying but it can still get going and hax through them anyway

That big news I promised is now here!

Over the last couple days, the council voted on some hot topics that will result in some major changes to VaporeMons, so let's get right into them!

By the results of this vote, the following things will happen:
:meloetta-pirouette:Meloetta-Pirouette will lose Mega Kick and gain Take Down - Meloetta-Pirouette has been a hot topic amongst the playerbase recently, as its extremely powerful STAB combination of Mega Kick and Close Combat combined with ts great 128/128 physical offense made it an insanely effective revenge killer, which made it basically impossible to use slower offensive Pokemon as almost all of them could be revenged by Meloetta with ease. Losing its nuclear Mega Kicks is one step in making Melo-P less effective at revenge killing and also more wallable, as while its newfound Take Down is a usable move with its 90 BP and No Guard-boosted perfect accuracy, the 25% damage reduction from Mega Kick is a major hit on Meloetta's power, not to mention the recoil damage chipping away at Melo. Melo will likely opt for Rapid Spin or Triple Axel in its fourth slot now, which are both great moves, but much weaker than Mega Kick was.
:heavy-duty boots:Dancing Shoes no longer grant an immunity to hazard damage - Another reason why Melo-P was such an insane revenge killer was because of its inherent hazard immunity thanks to Dancing Shoes, which made it extremely easy to get in a bunch of times a game and making it a lot harder to take out than you'd think between that, its decent bulk, and its fast U-Turn making it hard to pin down. Without the hazard immunity, Melo-P doesn't get to come in and out of battle nearly as freely anymore.
:iron valiant:Sleep moves will be banned and Sleep Clause Mod will be removed - This one came up as OU recently (and somewhat controversially) banned Sleep just a couple days ago, so we asked ourselves whether we should follow suit. Sleep was definitely less of a problem here than in OU, since Darkrai lacks Nasty Plot and is stuck with Dark Void and Dire Claw doesn't put you to sleep, but the development of Hypnosis Iron Valiant could've become a problem very quickly. So, along with the anti-Sleep Clause arguments of it being outdated that I'm sure anyone who's followed OU recently are tired of seeing no matter which side you were on at this point, we decided to also adopt the Sleep moves ban and remove Sleep Clause. With the sleep ban, Darkrai will regain Hypnosis, Meloetta will regain Sing, and Blunder Policy will once again raise the user's Accuracy by 2 stages, now alongside its current effects.
:baxcalibur:Lastly, there will be a public suspect test for Baxcalibur - Last, but certainly not least, we have official confirmation that we will be having a suspect test on Baxcalibur, who was banned from VaporeMons right before The Teal Mask dropped in September, for largely the same reasons as for why it was controversial in OU at the time, being how ridiculous its Dragon Dance sets were, whether it was Loaded Dice Icicle Spear or Leftovers Ice Body, and this was before it gained Scale Shot from The Teal Mask. I'll go into more detail about why we chose Baxcalibur as a suspect test when the suspect test goes live on the main server and officially opens, but in summary, a lot has changed since its ban that may make Baxcalibur a lot easier to deal with (Light Clay ban, Water/Fairy Milo, Wash Away as added, Skarmory, Magnezone still exists, etc.). Even then, I find this suspect test very interesting as I don't expect it to be a very clear cut case, as I expect it to at least be more contentious than either of JolteMons suspect tests. Additionally, this suspect will take place on the main server, making it one of the first, if not the first, suspect test for a Pet Mod on the main server, which is extremely exciting! More details on why this suspect test is happening and how to get reqs will be posted when the suspect ladder goes live.

That's all for now, see you soon!
