This is awfully overdue and I apologize, but here it is anyway. Considering that VGC 18’ features an abundance of high-stakes tournaments players are constantly testing different teams and understanding metagame trends. This thread aims to help players get an idea of how to properly team build by displaying competent and successful teams over the course of the season.

Similar to other Sample Team threads from other subforums, the teams featured here will be archived only after being approved by a variety of active and established VGC players to ensure that high-quality teams are displayed.

Of course, this thread can still be used to submit teams and I encourage anyone to do so.

"Oh HAIL No!"

Essentially a hard TR team utilizing the all-powerful Mega Mawile and Mega Abomasnow. Abomasnow is the most often used but either mega can be used in their non mega form depending on the scenario. Abomasnow is a great rain deterrent and Mawile can psych up Belly Drums and Kommo boosts Mega or without Mega and sweep entire teams with it's massive power. Heatran, Tapu Fini, and Abomasnow form the RGB core that is so proven throughout the game. Oranguru provides almost unparalleled support with Inner Focus preventing flinches and Psychium Z preventing Taunt from stopping TR getting up. Oranguru's set can survive a tect rage from Landorus-T, Overheat from Mega Chariard-Y, and Hydro Vortex from Ludicolo in the Rain. Mega Mawile's set allows it to survive Psychium Z from Tapu Lele under Psychic Terrain and Heat Wave from standard Heatran. It can also survive an Earthquake from Landorus-T without Intimidate and can 2HKO back with Iron Head. The team almost never fails to get off TR and always does huge damage to the opponent thanks to several heavy hitter.

Hope this meets the standard! It's been one of my most successful teams and is the most successful Abomasnow team I've ever used. I will eventually make this in game and create a QR code for it as with the other teams I'd like to post as I retire them!
