[VGC 2012] [Double Battle 4v4] Team: QuantumLegend (Help is greatly appreciated) : )

Good evening, Smogon!

I just finished copying down my team information, along with their set strategies.

If you don't mind, please give me advice about the following:

-Potential move changes
-Potential nature/ability/item changes
-Potential Pokemon to swap with
-General advice regarding my team and the VGC 2012 metagame.

I was hoping people could give me advice on the following:

-Possible Pokemon to Swap
-Possible Moves to Swap
-General Strategy around my Team
-General 2012 Metagame tips

[Pokemon] Krookodile
Type: Ground/Dark (Physical)
Item: Focus Sash
Nature: Jolly
Move-set:
- Earthquake
- Crunch
- Rock Slide
- Protect
EVs: 4 HP // 252 Atk // 252 Spe

[Strategy]:

My Krookodile almost always is paired with my Latios up front. The main problem with that, is the ice weakness (I also have a infernape or a blaziken, let me know if either of those'd work better). Additionally, his move "Earthquake" works well if Latios is currently up with him. Rock slide takes is put to use VERY well, if I predict a switch to a Pokemon that resits EQ (Tends to be flying :P). Crunch takes out Psychic threats, as well as possibly lowering their defense. Also, I have found focus sash to be great when I get OHKO'd.

[Pokemon] Eelektross
Type: Electric (Physical)
Item: Flying Gem
Nature: Adamant
Move-set:
- Wild Charge
- Acrobatics
- Dragon Claw
- Protect
EVs: 252 HP // 252 Atk // 4 Sp. Def

[Strategy]:

Another front-row partner option for Krookododile is my Eelektross. In general, I'd use Eelektross in the front row with Krookodile if I feel that his physical move set is more suitable for the situation. Eelektross can also be used in the back row if I use Amoonguss and Chandelure up front. In regards to his moves, Wild Charge is there to replace Latios's Thunderbolt if only he takes Latios's spot (Same as Dragon Claw). Acrobatics + Flying gem to higher threats.

[Pokemon] Conkeldurr
Type: Fighting (Physical)
Item: Sitrus Berry
Nature: Adamant
Move-set:
- Mach Punch
- Drain Punch
- Payback
- Protect
EVs: 252 HP // 252 Atk // 4 SpD

[Strategy]:

Conkeldurr is great for fixing up any weakness for the second row of my team in one battle. His Mach punch is used for taking down speedy targets with lower amounts of HP. Drainpunch is used for regaining HP while sitrus berry takes him up to full. Since he's brough in the 3rd row, Payback can deal fair damage to psychic threats.

[Pokemon] Latios
Type: Dragon/Psychic (Special)
Item: Life Orb
Nature: Timid
Move-set:
- Psychic
- Thunderbolt
- Dragon Pulse
- Protect
EVs: 4 HP // 252 Sp Atk. // 252 SpE

[Strategy]

Latios is my primary special attacker. Not much to say. I am still wondering if I should switch Psychic with Psyshock?

[Pokemon] Amoonguss
Type: Grass/Poison (Special)
Item: Coba Berry
Nature: Calm
Move-set:
- Rage Powder
- Giga Drain
- Spore
- Protect
EVs: 252 HP // 246 Sp. Def // 12 SpE

[Strategy]

Amoonguss is generally paired with Chandelure, for stalling. It's pretty self explanitory on what each move does. In specific, Rage Powder will be used for transferring damage and possible effect spore. Giga drain if I have nothing better to do, or if there is no specific need to use the others. If I think I'll have the chance, I will spore an enemy Pokemon that is a great threat to my current side.

[Pokemon] Chandelure
Type: Ghost/Fire (Special)
Item: Choice Scarf
Nature: Timid
Move-set:
- Psychic
- Energy Ball
- Overheat
- Shadow Ball
EVs: 4 HP // 252 Sp. Atk // 252 SpE

[Strategy]

Chandelure is great for it's Choice scarf speed boost. It's incredible Special Attack makes it a great threat to the opponent's Pokemon. As an example, Overheat can 1HKO the 3 genies easily.

Here are a few Pokemon I was considering as well:

Haxorus
-Outrage/Dragon Claw
-Rock Slide
-Earthquake
-Protect/Taunt/Dragon Dance

Blaziken

-Flare Blitz
-Hi-Jump Kick
-Stone Edge
-Protect

Suicune

-Calm Mind
-Surf
-Ice Beam
-Protect

As I'm sure you've noticed, the 2012 metagame is centered around the four types of weather in the ever annoying "weather wars" that plagues singles. But that doesn't mean people not using a weather starter are at a disadvantage. However, Trick Room and Tailwind are still a major threat and preparing for them both will allow you to win a lot more often.

I really don't think you need payback on Conkeldurr since you have more psychics on lock down with Krookodile and various others. Cress may be a pain to deal with but a Crunch from Krook will do a lot of damage and will more than likely 2HKO. Because of this, I would change Payback on Conkeldurr to Rock Slide to deal with the still popular Genies and various flying types.

Conkeldurr just wants to have Guts and Flame Orb, because without it he's really just a shell of a Pokemon.

You don't really need Psychic and Shadow Ball on Chandelure so I would replace Psychic with HP Ice. A lot of pokemon are weak to ice and scarf chande can outspeed a lot of pokemon and smack them around with that HP Ice.

If you wanted to use Haxorus, I would use Protect instead of Taunt or Dragon Dance.
If you wanted to use Blaziken I wouldn't suggest it unless it gets something like Close Combat and Rock Slide...
If you wanted to use Suicune use HP Electric not Calm Mind. Nothing using stat up moves in VGC.

Overall its' a very solid team with only some minor changes. Hope I helped.
