Vibrava's job in the metagame is being a defensive Defogger, utilizing its good defensive typing and Spikes immunity courtesy of Levitate. Vibrava manages to check offensive threats such as Choice Scarf Stonjourner and Electric-types such as Manectric. In addition, Vibrava offers a slow U-turn, which gives its teammates momentum, and deals good damage to Pokemon such as Mawile as well as OHKOing Stonjourner with STAB Earth Power.

Teammates such as Type: Null and SpDef Mawile can help offset Vibrava's 4x weakness to Ice. Type: Null also handles a plethora of special attackers that Vibrava struggles against like Raichu and also creates a slow U-turn core with Vibrava, (AC) which enables offensive teammates to get in safely and carry out their roles. Specially defensive Mawile offers Vibrava a Dragon immunity, an Ice resistance, (AC) and a Fairy resistance, handling all of its weaknesses. In return, Vibrava acts as a Fire-type answer for Mawile, checking Heatmor and Carkol. Slow wallbreakers like Glaceon appreciate Vibrava's slow U-turn to get them in safely, as well as its ability to deal with Silvally-Rock and Stonjourner and remove Stealth Rock. Mareanie is another partner that appreciates Vibrava's Electric immunity, (AC) which makes it less vulnerable to Silvally-Electric and Manectric. In return, Mareanie can set Toxic Spikes, which benefits the wallbreakers that Vibrava brings in with its slow U-turn greatly. Furthermore, Vibrava's Ground immunity also stops Mareanie from being shut down by Ground-type attacks from Stonjourner or opposing Vibrava. Throh appreciates Vibrava removing Spikes and is specially bulky enough to handle Lapras and Raichu.

Vibrava's role in the metagame is being a defensive defogger, which is aided by its resistance to Stealth Rock plus its Spikes immunity which make it suitable for its role. (its defensive typing is a huge part) Vibrava manages to check offensive threats such as Choice Scarf Stonjourner and Electric-types such as Manectric and Raichu. (u lose to nasty plot koff raichu though, or even to specs raichu) In addition, Vibrava offers a slow U-turn which gives its teammates momentum and offensive pressure. (it doesnt rlly give them offensive pressure) Earth Power can be run as STAB over Earthquake to hit physically defensive Mawile harder and enables Vibrava to ohko Stonjourner.

Vibrava's x4 weakness to Ice makes it quite vulnerable in the metagame due to Mr. Rime's high usage (fluff, remove) so teammates such as Type: Null (and spdef mawile) can help offset this. Type: Null also handles a plethora of special attackers in the tier which Vibrava struggles against (like?) and also creates a slow Voltturn core with Vibrava which enables offensive teammates to get in safely and carry out their roles. Offensive Mawile is one pokemon that appreciates the presence of Vibrava, which acts as a Fire resist for Mawile, checking Heatmor while Mawile can check Dragon-types like Fraxure when they are locked into Outrage and also Fairy-types like Mr. Mime and Shiinotic. Slow wallbreakers like Glaceon appreciate Vibrava's slow U-turn to get them in safely. Glaceon also can switch into Ice-types like Mr. Rime and Galaran Mr. Mime and threaten them with Shadow Ball while Vibrava can deal with Silvally-Rock and Stonjourner and also remove rocks so Glaceon isn't chipped.

mention mareanie
mention pokemon that appreciate vibrava's defog
mention throh

Type: Null also handles a plethora of special attackers in the tier which Vibrava struggles against like Raichu and also creates a slow Voltturn (technically not volt turn) core with Vibrava which enables offensive teammates to get in safely and carry out their roles. SpDef Mawile offers Vibrava a Dragon immunity, an Ice resist and a Fairy resist, handling Vibrava's weaknesses and manages to check Glaceon and Mr. Rime. (the last part of this sentence is fluff and was already implied) In return, Vibrava acts as a Fire resist for Mawile, checking Heatmor and Carkol. (uh, glaceon can not switch into these pokemon at all, especially if they are carrying focus blast) Mareanie is another partner that appreciates Vibrava's Electric immunity which makes it less vulnerable to Silvally-Electric and Manectric. Vibrava's Ground immunity also helps out Mareanie which allows it not to be shut down by Earthquakes from Stonjourner or opposing Vibrava. (why is mareanie a good partner tho? its not only because it appreciates vibrava being an elec resist/ground immunity) Throh appreciates Vibrava removing Spikes using Defog and Throh is specially bulky enough to handle Lapras and Raichu.
