congrats to our co-host 5Dots and :accelgor: with a nice landslide lead for the checks, and to OranBerryBlissey10 for just edging out the competition with :alcremie: for the counters! our friend Marsheaux was super close too with :poliwrath:, well done! from one fast dark-type on to the next, we have...

Silvally-Dark @ Dark Memory
Ability: RKS System
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Multi-Attack
- Psychic Fangs / Iron Head
- U-turn / Flame Charge

silvally-dark is an excellent sweeper in the tier, as are most of its cousins. it stands out as one of only two vally typings in the tier to resist the ever-present knock off, while also tanking s-rank rotom's shadow ball with ease. it also rose to popularity as one of the best vallies in the tier for its ability to exploit passive defensive uxie sets during its former reign as the tier's premier rocks setter. its coverage options are great, allowing it to dent fighting- or fairy-types, which otherwise dont mind its stab multi-attack. the last slot is dedicated either to u-turn, which both racks up chip damage and hits opposing dark-types super effectively, or to flame charge to facilitate a deadly sweep.

the submission phase will end at 11:59 pm gmt -4 on friday, may 13th, how fitting for a dark-type mon! good luck to everyone!

Rapidash-Galar @ Life Orb
Ability: Pastel Veil
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Play Rough
- High Horsepower
- Morning Sun
Galarian Rapidash is a nice offensive check to Silvally-Dark - notably, it‘s the only Fairy-type to outspeed Silvally-Dark and OHKO it back with Life Orb. Be aware that if Rapidash-Galar tries to switch in as Silvally-Dark gets a boost with Flame Charge, Galarian Rapidash will then get KOed by Iron Head after Stealth Rock. Leftovers normally tends to be more attractive, but then Galarian Rapidash can no longer OHKOes Silvally-Dark with Play Rough without the aid of Stealth Rock, and even that is a roll.
252 Atk Life Orb Rapidash-Galar Play Rough vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Silvally-Dark: 335-398 (101.2 - 120.2%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 Atk Silvally-Dark Iron Head vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Rapidash-Galar: 188-222 (69.3 - 81.9%) -- 12.5% chance to OHKO
252 Atk Silvally-Dark Multi-Attack vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Rapidash-Galar: 211-249 (77.8 - 91.8%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock

Tangela @ Eviolite
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
- Giga Drain
- Knock Off
- Sludge Bomb
- Sleep Powder

With its unrivalled physical bulk and longevity in the form of Regenerator, Tangela is a check to Silvally-Dark - although both Pokemon could kill each other in four turns, Sleep Powder allows Tangela to win the matchup in a vacuum, while Silvally's lack of any healing means that the Grass-type poses an even larger problem in practice than on paper.

+2 252 Atk Silvally-Dark Multi-Attack vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Eviolite Tangela: 138-163 (41.3 - 48.8%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
0 SpA Tangela Giga Drain vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Silvally-Dark: 84-100 (25.3 - 30.2%) -- guaranteed 4HKO

Shiinotic @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Effect Spore
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Spore
- Strength Sap
- Moonblast
- Toxic

Everybody's favorite mushroom is back to check another threat. Moonblast 2hko's while Toxic and Spore and both very annoying for darkvally itself and the switchins. Shiinotic only loses in the case of a flinch and spamming Iron Head is not an option bc of the helmet chip + effect spore risk.

+2 252 Atk Silvally-Dark Multi-Attack vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Shiinotic: 131-155 (40.4 - 47.8%)
+2 252 Atk Silvally-Dark Iron Head vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Shiinotic: 234-276 (72.2 - 85.1%)
0 SpA Shiinotic Moonblast vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Silvally-Dark: 194-230 (58.6 - 69.4%)

- Mystical Fire / Aromatherapy

submitting alcremie as a defensive check to darkvally. youre unbothered by multi-attack, psychic fangs, u-turn, and flame charge, even at +2, but have to worry about iron head variants, which is a 3hko after rocks when unboosted, but it still carries the chance to flinch, so you have to be careful. +2 becomes much more deadly, but still cant net the ohko even with rocks up. dgleam will always 2hko in return
+2 252 Atk Silvally-Dark Multi-Attack vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Alcremie: 136-161 (40.7 - 48.2%) -- 8.2% chance to 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
+2 252 Atk Silvally-Dark Iron Head vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Alcremie: 244-288 (73 - 86.2%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery
252 Atk Silvally-Dark Iron Head vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Alcremie: 124-146 (37.1 - 43.7%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Stealth Rock and Leftovers recovery

4 SpA Alcremie Dazzling Gleam vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Silvally-Dark: 198-234 (59.8 - 70.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
+1 4 SpA Alcremie Dazzling Gleam vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Silvally-Dark: 290-344 (87.6 - 103.9%) -- 25% chance to OHKO (guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock)

Once again, congratulations to our winners! From one Silvally to another, this synthetic works up a strong place in the meta as a mixed wallbreaker!
:ss/Silvally-Poison:
Silvally-Poison @ Poison Memory
Ability: RKS System
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Work Up
- Multi-Attack
- Flamethrower
- Surf / Thunderbolt / Grass Pledge
Depending on what it wants to run, Surf takes on bulky Ground-types like Rhydon, Piloswine, and Stunfisk, while Thunderbolt nails Qwilfish and Poliwrath. Grass Pledge forms as a midground between the two aforementioned coverage moves, but appreciates Thwackey’s Grassy Terrain to empower the move. Between all of its coverage moves, it is nearly guaranteed to hit everything in the meta for at least neutral damage. How will you deal with this venomous vally? Submit by Friday, May 20 at 11:59 PM GMT-4 to take on Silvally-Poison!

Stunfisk @ Leftovers
Ability: Static
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Toxic
- Earth Power
- Discharge
Counter
Stunfisk can switch into Silvally-Poison multiple times over the course of a battle and retailiate with Earth Power and threaten a paralysis.
No spoiler because
0 SpA Stunfisk Earth Power vs. 0 HP / 0- SpD Silvally-Poison: 188-224 (56.7 - 67.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

+1 252 SpA Silvally-Poison Surf vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Stunfisk: 172-204 (40.7 - 48.3%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

Dugtrio-Alola @ Leftovers
Ability: Tangling Hair
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Substitute
- Toxic
- Earthquake
- Iron Head
Alolan Dugtrio outspeeds and can easily KO Silvally-Poison after Stealth Rock, though it cannot afford to stomach any of its coverage moves. As a side note, Tangling Hair negates Flame Charge’s Speed Boost, which also lends Dugtrio a hand against physical sets. This makes Alolan Dugtrio a nice check to Silvally-Poison.
252 Atk Dugtrio-Alola Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Silvally-Poison: 288-338 (87 - 102.1%) -- 93.8% chance to OHKO after Stealth Rock
252 SpA Silvally-Poison Flamethrower vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Dugtrio-Alola: 214-252 (101.4 - 119.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO
252 SpA Silvally-Poison Surf vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Dugtrio-Alola: 214-252 (101.4 - 119.4%) -- guaranteed OHKO

Reserving Eviolite Piloswine
sorry for being so late
Piloswine @ Eviolite
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Icicle Crash
- Ice Shard
You can switch the Swine into Flamethrower and Multi-Attack then fire off Eq to make it switch out or be koe'd. Swine lives Surf then threatens. Silvally will have to boost several times and Swine does not let it do that.

Uxie @ Colbur Berry
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Relaxed Nature
- Psychic
- U-turn
- Knock Off
- Yawn/Stealth Rock

Uxie is a counter as Psychic always 2hko's and can use poisonvally's presence to do pretty much do whatever it wants as it takes minimal damage from everything. It can Psychic for chip, attempt to status a switchin, slow pivot out, knock something, set up Future Sight or Stealth Rock etc.

4 Atk Silvally-Poison Multi-Attack vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Uxie: 76-90 (21.5 - 25.4%)
252 SpA Silvally-Poison Surf vs. 248 HP / 8 SpD Uxie: 63-75 (17.8 - 21.2%)
+1 4 Atk Silvally-Poison Multi-Attack vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Uxie: 111-132 (31.4 - 37.3%)
+1 252 SpA Silvally-Poison Surf vs. 248 HP / 8 SpD Uxie: 94-111 (26.6 - 31.4%)

Spiritomb @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
- Calm Mind
- Dark Pulse
- Rest
- Sleep Talk

RestTalk Spiritomb is a counter to Silvally-Poison, resisting Multi-Attack with its massive physical bulk whilst being neutral to its weaker coverage moves - in the event of Silvally using Work Up on the switch, Spiritomb still doesn't take enough damage to dissuade it from using Calm Mind itself, allowing it to stack boosts and ultimately heal itself where Silvally cannot.

+1 252 SpA Silvally-Poison Flamethrower vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Spiritomb: 111-131 (36.5 - 43%) -- 97.5% chance to 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Rest / Moonlight
- Future Sight / Psychic
- Moonblast
- Sleep Talk / Heal Bell

musharna is a defensive counter to notable mons in the tier like sawk, tangela, alolan persian, and vally poison. massive 116/85/95 bulk lets it tank hits extremely easily and fire off strong stab future sights or psychics off of a base 107 spatk, even without investment.
0 SpA Musharna Future Sight vs. 0 HP / 0- SpD Silvally-Poison: 320-378 (96.6 - 114.1%) -- 75% chance to OHKO (guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock)
0 SpA Musharna Psychic vs. 0 HP / 0- SpD Silvally-Poison: 240-284 (72.5 - 85.8%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

+1 4 Atk Silvally-Poison Multi-Attack vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def Musharna: 150-177 (34.4 - 40.6%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
