Alakazam @ Alakazite
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Psychic
- Focus Blast
- Recover
- Shadow Ball

Mega Alakazam is a really good check to Kommo-o. It can outspeed and OHKO Kommo-o before it's used Clangorous Soulblaze, or survive any hit at +1 and put Kommo-o into range of most priority users.

tapu lele

tapu-lele-png-4.png

Tapu Lele @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Psychic Surge
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Psychic
- Moonblast

- Hidden Power Fire
- Focus Blast

Tapu Lele serves as a great revenge killer as it is able to come in on a predicted Clangerous Soulblaze so Kommo-O isn't able to get its Omniboost.
Even if Kommo-O has the Omniboost Choice Scarf Tapu Lele can still revenge kill it because it is faster plus Tapu Lele can switch into a predicted Clanging Scales or Close Combat
as Tapu Lele is immune to the former move and resists the latter move 4x times due to its amazing psychic/fairy dual typing.
Both STABs of Tapu Lele are able to OHKO Kommo-O in return even after it got its Omniboost and the +1 in all of its Stats.
Tapu Lele is also able to force Kommo-O out as well so Kommo-O loses its Omniboost when it gets forced out, henceforth Tapu Lele is a great check to Kommo-O even after its Omniboost it gained due to its signature Z-Move.

Calcs:
252 SpA Tapu Lele Psychic vs. +1 4 HP / 0 SpD Kommo-o in Psychic Terrain: 284-336 (97.2 - 115%) -- guaranteed OHKO after Stealth Rock
252 SpA Tapu Lele Moonblast vs. +1 4 HP / 0 SpD Kommo-o: 400-472 (136.9 - 161.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO

+1 252 Atk Kommo-o Close Combat vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Tapu Lele: 82-97 (29.1 - 34.5%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Stealth Rock

Clefable @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 172 Def / 84 SpD
Calm Nature
- Moonblast
- Soft-Boiled
- Stealth Rock
- Wish / Thunder Wave / Calm Mind

Clefable @ Leftovers
Ability: Unaware
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Bold Nature
- Moonblast
- Wish
- Protect
- Heal Bell

Magic Guard is immune to SR, Unaware is immune to successful boosts, both are immune to Soulblaze and both OHKO with Moonblast. At least 172 Def EVs ensure that Clef is never 2HKO'd by PJab even if it loses its Leftovers, making the pink blob a solid counter regardless of which set you run.

fini

Tapu Fini @ Leftovers
Ability: Misty Surge
EVs: 248 HP / 16 Def / 12 SpA / 40 SpD / 192 Spe
Calm Nature
- Defog
- Moonblast
- Scald
- Taunt

Tapu Fini is a strong checker (perhaps counter) of Kommo-o, since Fini easily enters on his stabs and takes 3hko of Poison Jab without Stealth Rocks in the field (with rocks is 1.2% of 2hko) and can easily kill Kommo-o with Moonblast. If Kommo-o is already boosted, the chance of KO goes to 25%, while Pjab guarantees 2hko causing 70%.

Mew @ Leftovers
Ability: Synchronize
EVs: 80 HP / 244 SpD / 184 Spe
Careful Nature
- Earthquake
- Will-O-Wisp
- Soft-Boiled
- Defog

This SpDef Mew, really only used on stall (but it can be used on Balance if you want a Tran, Diancie and Lele check in one) is a counter to Kommo-o. Clangorous Soulblaze doesn’t even 2hko, and the rest of its moves do even less. In the mean time, Mew can EQ chip it, Soft-Boiled to recover or Defog Rocks away (which is as with most Rocker counters amazing).

Edit: Okay so I’m debating on putting this thing in check over counter. While unboosted, Kommo-o is not a threatening mon but it might fall to Clangorous into +1 CC. However, this is a very uncommon scenario, but just to be safe, I’m changing this to check.

S/O to @A for the set, cuz he made it.

Magearna @ Shuca Berry / Fairium Z / Wiki Berry
Ability: Soul-Heart
EVs: 216 HP / 228 Def / 16 SpD / 48 Spe
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Fleur Cannon
- Thunderbolt
- Pain Split
- Calm Mind

Physdef Magearna is generally used to annoy physical attackers with Bulu's terrain support, but it just happens to work as a solid Counter to Kommo-o. Being able to actually come in on CC and Kommo-o's coverage moves is amazing, as well as even heal with Pain Split or the Wiki Berry. A's original post about this set can be found here.

Reuniclus sprite from Black 2 & White 2 & Black & White

Reuniclus @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 212 Def / 44 Spe
Bold Nature
- Calm Mind
- Psyshock
- Focus Blast
- Recover

Reuniclus checks Kommo-o because it lives a Clangorous Soulblaze (does 54-63%), can recover back the damage and start Calm Mind boosting/Recover spamming to the point where Kommo-o can't break past it with Clanging Scales. +1 Clanging Scales has a chance to 2HKO Reuniclus so you can't switch into it guaranteed, but Reuni easily eats +1 CC and PJab.

Reserving Mega Sableye

Sableye-Mega @ Sablenite
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Knock Off
- Will-O-Wisp
- Recover
- Protect

Mega Sableye acts as a solid counter to Kommo-o. It can block Stealth Rock with Magic Bounce, it can use Protect to take less damage from Clangorous Soulblaze (although it only does 42-50% if unprotected) and if Kommo-o is boosted by Soulblaze, +1 Clanging Scales is only a 3HKO against SpDef Mega Sableye, which allows Sableye to Recover-stall the attack due to it only having 8 PP. Will-o-Wisp also allows Sableye to cripple Kommo-o's Attack, meaning CC and PJ won't do as much damage even at +1 toward Sableye's teammates.

Slowbro-Mega @ Slowbronite
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 248 HP / 96 Def / 164 SpD
Bold Nature
- Scald
- Ice Beam
- Slack Off
- Toxic / Thunder Wave

Mega Slowbro is a check to Kommo-o that can easily take Clangorous Soulblaze and recover its health back with Slack Off , and is then able to take +1 Clanging Scales ( doing 45.2 - 53.4%), while Poison Jab and Close Combat doing almost nothing which then allows Slowbro to either put Kommo-o on a timer with Toxic or cripple its speed with Thunder Wave.

Ability: No Guard
EVs: 240 HP / 252 Atk / 16 SpD
IVs: 0 Spe
Brave Nature
- Swords Dance
- Iron Head
- Sacred Sword
- Shadow Sneak

Doublade's a pretty funny mon that I've used on balance and stall teams occasionally and it's a hard counter to this set, being immune to two of the attacks and taking like 38% max from +1 Clanging Scales while using it as setup bait and smacking it with either Iron Head or Sacred Sword depending on whether or not it's boosted.

Support Mega Altaria is a hard counter to Offensive kommo-o
Altaria @ Altarianite
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Relaxed Nature
- Body Slam
- Heal Bell
- Roost
- Flamethrower
Its immune to Clanging scales and Z-move takes almost nothing from close combat
Poison jab does 29.9% to 35.5%
you can OHKO Kommo-O back with Body slam

Sorry for the delay everyone, I haven't been feeling well lately, but here we are.

I voted for Doublade and Mega Alakazam.
With the right support, Doublade is a great pick on balance or even stall to prevent powerful wallbreakers from overrunning these teams, and even check Tapu Lele to an extent.
Mega Alakazam has been working consistently for many people and will continue to do so.

Congrats to Vengeance417 and Jordy for winning this week!
I will update the Hall of Fame once I get better.

Serperior @ Leftovers
Ability: Contrary
EVs: 56 HP / 200 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Leaf Storm
- Hidden Power Fire
- Substitute
- Glare / Leech Seed

Serperior is a menacing snake that can break through teams with the combination of Contrary, great Speed, and special access to Glare and Leech Seed. Can you come up with something to beat Serperior? Submission week ends on 12/6. Happy posting!

Reserving Mega Venusaur

Venusaur @ Venusaurite
Ability: Chlorophyll
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 172 Def / 68 SpD / 16 Spe
Bold Nature
- Leech Seed
- Sludge Bomb
- Hidden Power Fire
- Synthesis

Mega Venusaur serves as a solid counter to Serperior. Quad-resists Leaf Storm, takes next to nothing from even boosted Hidden Power Fire thanks to Thick Fat, immune to Leech Seed, and can hit it back super effectively with Sludge Bomb. Mega Venusaur also checks a lot of Serperior's common partners, which include Rotom-Wash, Tapu Koko, Ash-Greninja, Magearna, and Mega Mawile.

Moltres sprite from Black 2 & White 2 & Black & White

Moltres @ Leftovers
Ability: Pressure
EVs: 208 HP / 60 Def / 240 Spe
Timid Nature
- Substitute
- Roost
- Defog
- Flamethrower

Moltres is a counter to Serperior. Thanks to its ability Pressure, Moltres can abuse Serperior's low PP on Leaf Storm and punish the opponent for clicking it. Additionally, the stall teams that Moltres finds itself on really appreciate it draining the PP of Leech Seed variants as this allows other members like Chansey to become reliable answers to Serperior. While Moltres despises Glare, the stalls it finds itself on almost always carry some form of cleric support, and even when paralyzed, it's able to pose a massive threat to Serperior thanks to its typing and the mere presence of its ability.

heatran

ico_shuffle_485.png

Heatran @ Leftovers
Ability: Flash Fire
EVs: 252 HP / 128 SpD / 128 Spe
Calm Nature
- Lava Plume
- Earth Power
- Stealth Rock
- Taunt

Heatran serves as a hardcheck to Serperior, as specially defensive Heatran won't take anything from even boosted Leaf Storms and can just get a Flash Fire boost when Serperior tries to go for Hidden Power Fire.
It 4x resists Leaf Storm so even when Heatran is Glared Serperior has trouble breaking through Heatran - Even when Serperior goes for a Substitute, Heatrans Lava Plume easily break its Sub and can put out serious
damage towards Serperiors direction afterwards.
Taunt serves that Serperior can't use its status moves and goes through Substitute therefore disabling its status move in Glare or preventing a Leech Seed.
In overall Heatran is able to force Serperior out as Serperiors risk of staying in and trying to wear Heatran down is too risky for it.

Calcs:
0 SpA Heatran Lava Plume vs. 56 HP / 0 SpD Serperior: 228-270 (74.7 - 88.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

200 SpA Serperior Leaf Storm vs. 252 HP / 128+ SpD Heatran: 27-31 (6.9 - 8%) -- possibly the worst move ever
200 SpA Contrary Serperior Leaf Storm over 2 turns vs. 252 HP / 128+ SpD Heatran: 80-94 (20.7 - 24.3%) -- not a KO
200 SpA Contrary Serperior Leaf Storm over 3 turns vs. 252 HP / 128+ SpD Heatran: 160-188 (41.4 - 48.7%) -- not a KO
200 SpA Contrary Serperior Leaf Storm over 4 turns vs. 252 HP / 128+ SpD Heatran: 266-314 (68.9 - 81.3%) -- not a KO

Reserving Refresh M.Latias

Latias-Mega (F) @ Latiasite
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Stored Power
- Calm Mind
- Recover
- Refresh

Having had a lot of experience with this specific set, M.Latias not only walls Serperior after 1 CM, but can use it for set up, applying pressure onto the opponent, with Refresh reducing the problem of Parahax to a great extent. At +1 CM, M.Latias is not only not 2hkoed by +6 Leaf Storm, but not 2hkoed by +6 Leaf Storm + Leech Seed, allowing M.Latias to safely Recover stall, or set up further depending.

+6 200 SpA Serperior Leaf Storm vs. +1 248 HP / 0 SpD Latias-Mega: 131-154 (36 - 42.4%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leech Seed damage

Clefable @ Leftovers
Calm Nature
Ability: Unaware
EVs: 252 HP / 216 Def / 40 SpD
- Moonblast
- Wish
- Protect
- Heal Bell

Clefable can take any attack Serperior throws at it thanks to Unaware and can use Heal Bell to cure Paralysis from Glare for it and its teammates. Not much else to explain

Volcarona @ Buginium Z/Psychium Z
Ability: Flame Body
EVs: 252 SpA / 252 Spe / 4 Def
Timid Nature
- Bug Buzz
- Fire Blast
- Hidden Power Ground / Psychic
- Quiver Dance

Offensive Volcarona is only a check to Serp, as it detests Glare, but it's a strong one; what separates Volc from all the other 'Mons that would be counters if not for parahax is that Bug Buzz no-sells Serp's Substitute, OHKOing right through it. Meanwhile, boosted Leaf Storms and HP Fires barely tickle in return.

252 SpA Volcarona Bug Buzz vs. 56 HP / 0 SpD Serperior: 318-374 (104.2 - 122.6%) -- guaranteed OHKO
