[OVERVIEW]

Vigoroth is a fantastic defensive sweeper. Thanks to its great bulk and access to reliable recovery, common offensive Pokemon such as Golem and Choice Scarf Electivire can't 2HKO Vigoroth and therefore are rendered setup fodder. Vigoroth only needs a few EVs to outspeed Monferno and common defensive Pokémon such as Altaria and Probopass. This, coupled with Taunt or Substitute, allows Vigoroth to use them as setup fodder as well. However although Vigoroth's bulk is great, if it loses its Eviolite, Vigoroth becomes more specially frail, and giving it a harder time setting up and making it easier to revenge kill. Vigoroth faces competition from the several other Normal-types in ZU, most notably Bulk Up Komala, which, despite being worse at defensive sweping, is far more versatile. Also, Vigoroth doesn't benefit from its pure Normal typing, which doesn't bring it any useful resistances. Vigoroth also can't afford to run anything other than a Normal STAB move as an attack and therefore needs several Attack boosts to break through Pokemon that resist Normal such as Bronzor and Probopass. In addition, Vigoroth is unable to touch Ghost-types such as Gourgeist-XL and Misdreavus and relies on PP stall to beat them. Since Vigoroth needs several turns to set up, it is unable to perform its role if it gets poisoned, making it very vulnerable to Toxic Spikes. Vigoroth is also vulnerable to Trick / Switcheroo from Choice item users, which locks it into one move and prevents it from setting up.

Moves
========

Bulk Up allows Vigoroth to increase its Attack and Defense, making it very difficult to take down with physical attacks. After one Bulk Up, it avoids the 2HKO from Rampardos' Rock Slide and threatens opposing walls such as Golem and Altaria. Facade is the preferred offensive move on Taunt Vigoroth, as it lets Vigoroth take advantage of status such as burn from Scald, poison from Sludge Bomb, and Toxic from faster Pokemon. Return is Vigoroth's strongest STAB move, which can 2HKO, threats such as Electivire and Combusken after Stealth Rock. Slack Off keeps Vigoroth healthy throughout the game, allowing it to accumulate Bulk Up boosts. Taunt allows Vigoroth to avoid common countermeasures to defensive sweepers such as status moves like Bronzor's Toxic, hazing or phazing moves such as Mareanie's Haze, opposing Taunt coming from slower Pokemon such as Mawile, and setup from slower sweepers such as Curse Muk and defensive Nasty Plot or Calm Mind Beheeyem. It also lets Vigoroth PP stall Ghost-types such as Gourgeist and beat Pyukumuku, the only viable Unaware user in ZU. Substitute is an option over Taunt that makes Vigoroth less susceptible to status from offensive moves, such as burn from Scald and paralysis from Discharge, and protects it from fast status users, such as Silvally-Fighting, and Trick Pokemon, such as Mr. Mime. It also lets Vigoroth scout for what move a Choice item attacker will lock itself into. However, it leaves Vigoroth susceptible to slower Taunt, Pyukumuku, phazing, Ghost-types, and slower setup.

Set Details
========

The 92 EVs in Speed along with a Jolly nature allow Vigoroth to outspeed Adamant Monferno, preventing it from easily stopping Vigoroth. The rest of the EVs are put in HP and Special Defense, since Vigoroth's special bulk is lackluster without EVs and doesn't get boosted by Bulk Up. The Eviolite is used to further increase Vigoroth's overall bulk. It also allows Vigoroth to check special attackers such as Zebstrika and Rotom-S without Trick. Vital Spirit is Vigoroth's only ability, avoiding sleep from Tangela, Smeargle, and Bellossom and therefore letting Vigoroth set up on them.

Usage Tips
========

Vigoroth should always avoid status, so when facing a Pokemon that can carry Toxic, it should use Substitute or Taunt. Try to keep Vigoroth at full health with Slack Off so it can set up on Pokemon such as offensive Golem. Don't start to set up until Vigoroth checks are removed. If Vigoroth is facing a Pokemon that could carry Trick / Switcheroo, switch it out, as a Tricked Vigoroth is useless. When every Pokemon that can deal with Vigoroth has been removed, proceed to set up and sweep. The best way to get rid of checks and counters is to weaken them through entry hazards and wearing them down with unboosted attacks, as most of Vigoroth's answers, such as Silvally-Fighting and Bouffalant, don't have recovery. Toxic poison can also help Vigoroth get rid of checks that can recover their health such as Nasty Plot Beheeyem and Roost + Calm Mind Oricorio, as they will get overwhelmed by Vigoroth's boosted attacks and the poison. Vigoroth can also act as a defensive check to unboosted offensive Pokemon that don't carry status, such as Golem, Rapidash, and Silvally-Dark. It can also easily take on physical Electivire lacking Cross Chop and Zebstrika, though it should usually not be used as check a to them in case they punish Vigoroth with VoltTurn.

Team Options
========

Poison-type such as Muk, Mareanie, and Roselia are potential partners, since they remove Toxic Spikes, which prevent Vigoroth from setting up. They also can switch into Fighting-type moves that can beat Vigoroth, such as from Raichu and Simipour in the case of Muk and Combusken and Silvally-Fighting in the case of Mareanie. Altaria, Gourgeist, and Granbull are great partners in general for their ability to take on physical Pokemon that can force Vigoroth out, such as Silvally-Fighting and Power-Up Punch Kecleon. They also make for great Knock Off absorbers, which are vital for Vigoroth. In the case of Altaria and Granbull, they can further support Vigoroth with Heal Bell. Pursuit Silvally-Dark can remove many answers to Vigoroth, such as Misdreavus, Grumpig, and Beheeyem. It can also serve as an additional Knock Off absorber. Probopass's ability to remove Steel-types, such as defensive Probopass and Bronzor, is also appreciated by Vigoroth, which struggles to break them, as its ability to safely bring Vigoroth in the field with its slow Volt Switch. Pokemon that can absorb status, such as Altaria, Floatzel, and Mareanie, make great partners for Vigoroth, due to how weak to status it is. Because of its lack of Leftovers, Vigoroth is quickly worn down by hazards, especially Toxic Spikes, preventing it from staying in to set up and from defensively checking anything while Toxic Spikes are up. Thus, hazard removal from the likes of Altaria and different Silvally formes is greatly appreciated by Vigoroth.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Vigoroth can run a stallbreaker set with Toxic / Slack Off / Taunt / Seismic Toss, but it's general outclassed by Regigigas, which pressures stall more effectively thanks to its greater offensive presence. Vigoroth can also run a fully specially defensive set ; however, that doesn't let it avoid any extra 2HKOs, and it allows Monferno to force Vigoroth out. Vigoroth can run moves no foes are immune to such as Night Slash to prevent it from being walled by Ghost-types. However, they lack the power needed to be worth it. Vigoroth can also run Chip Away to beat opposing defensive setup. However, it's often not worth it because of the lack of power and the fact that Taunt already deals with every defensive setup Pokemon, outside of other Vigoroth. An offensive set is outclassed by the other offensive Normal-types such as Komala, Bouffalant, Raticate, and Purugly.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fighting-types**: Fighting-types such as Monferno, Silvally-Fighting, and Combusken can break Vigoroth Substitute even at +1 in Defense. If they carry Swords Dance, they can use Vigoroth as setup fodder. However, non-Flame Orb Machoke and Adamant Monferno are not answers to Vigoroth.

**Strong Special Attacker**: Some strong special attackers, such as Raichu, offensive Beheeyem, and Simipour, can overwhelm Vigoroth thanks to their strong offensive moves. They can also use Vigoroth as setup fodder.

**Item Removal**: Without an Eviolite, Vigoroth loses its ability to set up on a wide portion of the metagame and is forced out by most special attackers. If Vigoroth isn't carrying Substitute, its Eviolite can easily be removed through Knock Off from Pokemon such as Kecleon and Mareanie. Its Eviolite can also be removed through Trick or Switcheroo from Mr. Mime or Floatzel.

**Toxic Poison**: Vigoroth cannot reliably set up if it's badly poisoned, which makes Toxic Spikes one of the best ways to ensure Vigoroth can't set up. If Vigoroth isn't carrying Substitute, faster Pokemon carrying Toxic such as Silvally-Fighting, can also prevent Vigoroth from setting up.

**Ghost-types**: Vigoroth is unable to hit Ghost-types, which allows them to switch into Vigoroth for free. However, Vigoroth can PP stall many of them, such as Gourgeist-XL, if it's running Taunt. However, Taunt Vigoroth is unable to deal with Misdreavus, which outspeeds it and can safely Taunt it first. Moreover, Dusclops can stall out Vigoroth's Slack Off with Seismic Toss.

**Faster Taunt Users**: Faster Taunt users, such as Floatzel, Oricorio, Misdreavus, and Grumpig can prevent Vigoroth from setting up and use it as setup fodder.

**Pyukumuku**: If Vigoroth isn't carrying Taunt, Pyukumuku will wall Vigoroth forever and PP stall it thanks to Spite and Rest. Moreover, if running Poisonium Z, it can bypass Vigoroth's Taunt and poison it.

**Lickilicky**: Thanks to its ability Oblivious, Lickilicky can Toxic Vigoroth through Taunt. Moreover, Lickilicky has access to Seismic Toss, which does heavy damage to Vigoroth, and breaks its Substitute.

**Phazers and Haze Users**: If Vigoroth isn't carrying Taunt, it can lose its stat boosts to Mareanie's Haze or be phazed by Gabite's or Avalugg's Roar.

Overview
  • Mention that if it gets Toxiced, it becomes unable to perform its role at all. This also makes it really vulnerable to TSpikes.
  • Mention vulnerability to Trick/Switcheroo
  • Mention competition from other Normal-types, most notably BU Komala, though Vigoroth is usually better at the role. It is, however, much less versatile.
  • Mention inability to hit Ghosts.
Set
  • Change the order of moves Bulk Up -> Facade/Return -> Slack Off -> Taunt/Sub
Moves
  • Switch the order of bullet points to match the new set order.
  • Try to expand some of these points. Taunt and Substitute are really well written, but then Bulk Up and Slack Off are lackluster. Expand Bulk Up to say that it allows Vigoroth to become very fat and seriously tough to break through while allowing to break through walls itself as well, while Slack Off keeps Vigoroth healthy enough for a long time.
  • Chatot is not an answer to Vigoroth and neither is Pinsir really. It's fine to give examples of Pokemon Return can KO that Facade does not, but don't call them answers.
Set Details
  • Merge the Eviolite line with the bulk EVs line
Usage Tips
  • Very good. Mention to keep Vigoroth away from Trick/Switcheroo
Team Options
  • Mention Probopass to remove Steels
Other Options
  • Mention running a different offensive move without immunities, like Night Slash or Ice Punch, but say that it does too little damage to be worth it.
Checks and Counters
  • Ghost-types should be here. Even though many can get PP stalled, Gourgeist-XL can make life hard with Foul Play and fast Taunt Misdreavus is the best Vigo counter we have.
  • Mention that Pyukumuku can run Z-Toxic to circumvent Taunt

Ready for QC 2. Xayah and me agreed to replace Gourgeist by Dusclops in the Ghost-types section in C&C.

Overview
  • Don't overestimate Vigoroth's speed. It's really not that fast. Especially when you're not investing in it that much - non positive speed nature Monferno is actually quite slow.
  • Mention Vigoroth's Normal-typing and how it isn't very helpful to it. In there touch on how Vigoroth has trouble breaking through Normal-resists in general. You can mention how Vigoroth's Normal-typing also doesn't provide it any resistances that help it in being a bulky setup sweeper.
Moves
  • Not sure why LO Cross Chop from Electivire is a good benchmark, especially considering +attack natures always will 2hko vigoroth at +1 after Stealth Rocks damage. Might wanna come up with something more relevant since LO Cross Chop Vire is kinda weird in the current metagame.
  • Mention how Substitute can help ease prediction versus choice-locked foes and status-users.
  • "Return is Vigoroth strongest STAB which can 2HKO after Stealth Rocks several Pokémon that could try to prevent Vigoroth set up such as Specially Offensive Electivire and Combusken." Remove "Specially Offensive" - its not needed information.
Set Details
  • remove "even with an Eviolite" when describing Vigoroth's mediocre spdef, not really relevant information
Usage Tips
  • Mention Tangela as a sleep user as well.
  • "When every Pokémon that can deal with Vigoroth has been removed, you proceed to set-up and clean the game." Expand this bullet point more. What Pokemon do Vigoroth need to get rid of to act as a win condition, and how does it wear these down?
  • Touch on the things that Vigoroth is able to naturally check with its bulk.
Team Options
  • Pokemon that can absorb status, like Altaria, Mareanie, and Floatzel, are useful teammates given how weak Vigoroth is to status.
  • Mention hazard removal that can get rid of hazards which tend to wear Vigoroth down quicker and reduce its defensive value. In particular Toxic Spikes are a gigantic pain.
Other Options
  • Mention Chip Away as an option to help versus opposing setup sweepers.
Checks and Counters
  • Change the "Toxic" bullet to "Toxic and Toxic Spikes" or something along those lines.
  • Your Pyukumuku bullet point seems unfinished. Finish it.
  • Mareanie's Haze isn't "phazing", its literally just hazing. Instead replace it with something along the lines of "Roar or Whirlwind from the likes of Gabite or Avalugg" or name whatever roar/whirlwind users you feel, just giving a quick example
**Good work, 2/3 after this is implemented**

Bulk Up allows Vigoroth to increase its Attack and Defense, turning it unkillable on the physical spectrum, avoiding at +1 the 2HKO from Rampardos Rock Slide while allowing it to threaten opposing walls such as Golem and Altaria. Facade is the prefered offensive move on Taunt Vigoroth since it lets Vigoroth take advantage of status such as burn from Scald, paralysis from Discharge (Discharge is really irrelevant to the ZU meta, since it has no notable users. Sludge Bomb has a couple of them in Mareanie and Roselia.) and Toxic from faster Pokémon. Return is Vigoroth strongest STAB which can 2HKO after Stealth Rocks several Pokémon that could try to prevent Vigoroth set up such as Electivire and Combusken. Taunt allows Vigoroth to avoid common way of dealing with defensive sweepers such as status moves such as Bronzor Toxic, phazing move such as Mareanie Haze (Wrong example for this category. You even made the distinction in the weaknesses section, so I'm not sure why you put Haze as an example for a phazing move.), opposing Taunt comming from slower Pokémon such as Mawile, and slower set up sweeper such as Curse Muk and Defensive Nasty Plot (or Calm Mind) Beheeyem. It also lets Vigoroth PP-stall ghost type such as Gourgeist and beat Pyukumuku, the only viable unaware user in ZU. Substitute is an option over Taunt that let Vigoroth susceptible to slower Taunt, Pyukumuku, phazing, Ghost-types and slower set-up. However it lets Vigoroth less susceptible to status coming from offensive move such as burn from Scald and paralysis from Discharge. If Vigoroth is behind a Substitute, it's not forced out anymore by faster status users such as Dugtrio-Alola, and by Trick user such as Mr. Mime. It also lets Vigoroth scout on which move a choice attacker is locked. Slack Off keeps Vigoroth healthy through the game, allowing it to accumulate Bulk Up boosts.

Set Details
========

The 92 EVs in Speed along with a Jolly Nature allows Vigoroth to outspeed Adamant Monferno making it an unreliable answer to Vigoroth. The rest of the EVs coupled with the Eviolite are put in order to increase Vigoroth's special bulk which is lackluster without EVs and which doesn't get boosted through Bulk Up. It also allows Vigoroth to check Special Attacker such as Zebstrika and none-Trick Rotom-Fan. Vital Spirit is Vigoroth only ability allowing it to avoid sleep from Tangela, Smeargle and Bellossom and therefore lets Vigoroth able to set up on them.

Usage Tips
========

Vigoroth should always avoid status, that's why if it's facing a Pokémon which can carry Toxic it should use Substitute or Taunt. Try to let Vigoroth at full health by clicking Slack Off, because Vigoroth needs to be at full health to set up on Pokémon such as offensive Golem. Don't start to set up until Vigoroth check aren't removed. Most of Vigoroth answers such as Silvally-Fighting and Floatzel don't carry recovery and are often at least 3HKO by Return/boosted Facade, that's why you should to weaken them by clicking your offensive move as they switch into Vigoroth. If Vigoroth is facing a Pokémon that could carry Trick/Switcheroo switch Vigoroth out, as a Tricked Vigoroth becomes useless for the rest of the game. When every Pokémon that can deal with Vigoroth has been removed, you proceed to set-up and clean the game. The best way to get rid of them is to weaken them through coming on the hazard and unboosted VIgoroth's moves because most of Vigoroth's answers such as Silvally-Fighting or Bouffalant don't have recovery. (You said this twice.) Bad Poison can also help Vigoroth to get rid of the Pokémon that can deal with Vigoroth and recover their health such as Nasty Plot (or Calm Mind, Psychium Z can pull out the 2hko on Taunt Vig if one isn't careful) Beheeyem and Roost Calm Mind Oricorio, indeed they get overwhelmed by Vigoroth set-up and by the poison. Vigoroth can also through the game act as a defensive check to unboosted offensive Pokémon that don't carry status such as Golem, Rapidash and Silvally-Dark. It can also easily take on physical electivire lacking Cross Chop and Zebstrika though it should usually not be used as check to them due to the ease to punish Vigoroth with Volt-Turn.
Team Options
========

Poison-type such as Muk, Mareanie and Roselia are potent partners since they remove Toxic Spikes which prevent Vigoroth to set-up. They also can check Fighting-type move which can beat Vigoroth such as Raichu and Simipour in the case of Roselia, or Combusken and Sivally-Fighting in the case of Mareanie. Altaria, Gourgeist and Granbull are great partner in general for their ability to take on physical Pokémon that can force Vigoroth out such as Swords Dance Monferno (Altaria loses to Taunt SD Monferno, which is the only relevant SD Monferno set currently, if it isn't the Flyinium Z set.) and Power-Up Punch Kecleon. They also make great Knock Off absorbers which are vital for Vigoroth. In case of Altaria and Granbull, they can also support Vigoroth thanks to Heal Bell. Silvally-Dark thanks to Pursuit can remove many answers to Vigoroth such as Misdreavus, Grumpig, Dugtrio-Alola and Beheeyem. It can also serves as a Knock Off absorber even if there are far better one than it. Probopass ability to remove Steel-types such as defensive Probopass and Bronzor is also appreciated by Vigoroth which struggles even at +6 to break them. Probopass also thanks to its slow Volt-Switch can safely bring Vigoroth in the field. Pokémon that can absorb status such as Altaria, Floatzel and Mareanie make great partners for Vigoroth due to how weak to status it is. Due to its lack of Leftovers, Vigoroth is quickly wear down by hazards preventing it from defensively check anything, especially Toxic Spikes which prevent it from performing its role. That's why hazard removal from likes of Altaria and different Silvally forms is greatly appreciated by Vigoroth.

Other Options
=============

Vigoroth can run a Stallbreaker set with Toxic/Slack Off/Taunt/Seismic Toss but it's in general outdone by Regigigas which pressurize more stall thanks to greater offensive presence. Vigoroth can afford to run a fully Specially defensive set, however it doesn't allows it to avoid to much 2HKO while allowing Monferno to force Vigoroth out. Vigoroth can run moves without immunities such as Ice Punch and (You wouldn't run Ice Punch even for this purpose, since it doesn't help much to get past Bronzor or Probopass) Night Slash to prevent it from being walled by Ghost-types. However they really like power to be worth it. Vigoroth can also run Chip Away to beat opposing defensive set-up. But it's often not worth it because of the lack of power and the fact that Taunt Vigoroth already deals with every defensive set-up outside of other Vigoroth. An offensive set is outdone by the other offensive Normal-type such as Komala, Bouffalant, Raticate and Purugly.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fighting-Types**: Fighting types such as Monferno, Silvally-Fighting and Combusken can break Vigoroth Substitute even at +1 in Defense. If they carry Swords Dance they can use Vigoroth as set-up fodder. However none-Flame Orb Machoke and Adamant Monferno are not an answer to Vigoroth.

**Strong Special Attacker**: Some strong special attacker such as Raichu, offensive Beheeyem and Simipour can overwhelm Vigoroth thanks to their strong offensive moves. They can also use Vigoroth as set-up fodder.

**Item removal**: Without an Eviolite Vigoroth loses its ability to set up on a wide portion of the metagame, and is forced out by most special attacker. If Vigoroth isn't carrying Substitute, its Eviolite can easily be removed through Knock Off coming from Pokémon such as Kecleon and Mareanie. Its Eviolite can also be removed through Trcik/Switcheroo from Mr Mime or Floatzel.

**Bad Poison**: Vigoroth can reliably set-up if Toxiced, which makes Toxic Spikes one of the best to insure Vigoroth won't set up. If Vigoroth isn't carrying Substitute, faster Pokémon carrying Toxic such as Dugtrio-Alola and Silvally-Fighting can also prevent Vigoroth from setting up.

**Ghost-Types**: Vigoroth is unable to hit Ghost-type which allows them to switch for free into Vigoroth. However Vigoroth can PP-stall many of them such as Gourgeist-XL if it's running Taunt. However Taunt Vigoroth is unable to deal with Misdreavus which outspeeds and can Taunt Vigoroth while not fearing anything from Vigoroth. Moreover Dusclops thanks to pressure and its ability to break Vigoroth Substitute thanks to Seismic Toss can beat even Vigoroth carrying Taunt. (Pressure isn't really relevant here, Dusclops beats Vigoroth because of Seismic Toss stalling out its Slack Off, since 2 Seismic does more damage than 1 Slack off heals.)

**Faster Taunt users**: Faster Taunt users such as Floatzel, Oricorio, Misdreavus, Grumpig can prevent Vigoroth from setting up and use it at set-up fodder for Bulk Up in case of Floatzel or Calm Mind in case of Oricorio.

**Pyukumuku**: If Vigoroth isn't carrying Taunt, Pyukumuku will wall Vigoroth for ever and PP-stall it thanks to Spite and Rest. Moreover Pyukumuku if running Poisonium-Z, it can bypass once Vigoroth's Taunt and therefore toxic it.

**Phazing and Hazing**: If Vigoroth isn't carrying Taunt, it can be hazed by Mareanie's Haze or phazed by Gabite''s or Avalugg's Roar.

Lickilicky needs to be mentioned somewhere, since it can Toxic Vigoroth through Taunt, gets Seismic Toss, and in combination with Pyukumuku it is why Vigoroth doesn't beat stall or semi-stall.

Bulk Up allows Vigoroth to increase its Attack and Defense, turning it unkillable making it very difficult to take down (we don't say kill Pokemon) on the physical spectrum, avoiding letting it avoid at +1 the 2HKO from Rampardos'(add apostrophe) Rock Slide while allowing it to threaten opposing walls such as Golem and Altaria. Facade is the preferred offensive move on Taunt Vigoroth since as it lets Vigoroth take advantage of status such as burn from Scald, poison from Sludge Bomb and Toxic from faster Pokémon Pokemon. Return is Vigoroth's strongest STAB move, which can 2HKO after Stealth Rocks several Pokémon Pokemon that could try to prevent Vigoroth set up such as Electivire and Combusken. Slack Off keeps Vigoroth healthy through the game, allowing it to accumulate Bulk Up boosts. (move this here because you should explain moves in the order they are slashed) Taunt allows Vigoroth to avoid common way of dealing with counters to defensive sweepers such as status moves such as Bronzor's Toxic, hazing moves such as Mareanie's Haze, opposing Taunt comming from slower Pokémon Pokemon such as Mawile, and slower set up sweepers such as Curse Muk and defensive Nasty Plot or Calm Mind Beheeyem. It also lets Vigoroth PP-stall Ghost-(add hyphen)types such as Gourgeist and beat Pyukumuku, the only viable Unaware user in ZU. Substitute is an option over Taunt that let Vigoroth susceptible to slower Taunt, Pyukumuku, phazing, Ghost-types and slower set-up. The 92 EVs in Speed along with a Jolly nature allows Vigoroth to outspeed Adamant Monferno,(AC) preventing it from easily stopping Vigoroth making it an unreliable answer to Vigoroth. The rest of the EVs coupled with the Eviolite are put in HP and Special Defense and the Eviolite is used in order to increase Vigoroth's special bulk,(AC) which is lackluster without EVs and which doesn't get boosted through by Bulk Up. It also allows Vigoroth to check special attackers such as Zebstrika and none-Trick Rotom-Fan without Trick. Vital Spirit is Vigoroth's only ability allowing it to avoid sleep from Tangela, Smeargle,(AC) and Bellossom and therefore lets Vigoroth able to set up on them.

Usage Tips
========

Vigoroth should always avoid status, that's why if it's so when facing a Pokémon Pokemon which can carry Toxic,(AC) it should use Substitute or Taunt. Try to let keep Vigoroth at full health by clicking Slack Off, because Vigoroth needs to be at full health to set up on Pokémon Pokemon such as offensive Golem. Don't start to set up until Vigoroth checks aren't removed. If Vigoroth is facing a Pokémon Pokemon that could carry Trick(insert space) /(insert space) Switcheroo,(AC) switch Vigoroth out, as a Tricked Vigoroth becomes useless for the rest of the game. When every Pokémon Pokemon that can deal with Vigoroth has been removed, you proceed to set-up set up and clean the game sweep. The best way to get rid of them checks and counters is to weaken them through coming on the entry hazards and unboosted VIgoroth's moves wearing them down with unboosted attacks, as because most of Vigoroth's answers such as Silvally-Fighting or Bouffalant don't have recovery. Bad Poison Toxic poison can also help Vigoroth to get rid of the Pokémon its checks that can deal with Vigoroth and recover their health such as Nasty Plot Beheeyem and Roost Calm Mind Oricorio, indeed as they will get overwhelmed by Vigoroth's boosted attacks set-up and by the poison. Vigoroth can also through the game act as a defensive check to unboosted offensive Pokémon Pokemon that don't carry status such as Golem, Rapidash,(AC) and Silvally-Dark. It can also easily take on physical Electivire lacking Cross Chop and Zebstrika,(AC) though it should usually not be used as check to them due to the ease to in case they punish Vigoroth with Volt-(no hyphen)Turn.

Team Options
========

Poison-type such as Muk, Mareanie,(AC) and Roselia are potent partners since they remove Toxic Spikes which prevent Vigoroth to set-up from setting up. They also can check Fighting-type moves which can beat Vigoroth,(AC) such as from Raichu and Simipour in the case of Roselia, or Combusken and Sivally-Fighting in the case of Mareanie. Altaria, Gourgeist,(AC) and Granbull are great partners in general for their ability to take on physical Pokémon Pokemon that can force Vigoroth out,(AC) such as Silvally-Fighting and Power-Up Punch Kecleon. They also make for great Knock Off absorbers,(AC) which are vital for Vigoroth. In case of Altaria and Granbull, they can also support Vigoroth thanks to Heal Bell. Silvally-Dark thanks to with Pursuit can remove many answers to Vigoroth such as Misdreavus, Grumpig, Dugtrio-Alola,(AC) and Beheeyem. It can also serves as an additional Knock Off absorber even if there are far better one than it. Probopass'(add apostrophe) ability to remove Steel-types such as defensive Probopass and Bronzor is also appreciated by Vigoroth,(AC) which struggles even at +6 to break them. Probopass also thanks to its slow Volt-Switch can also safely bring Vigoroth in the field with its slow Volt Switch. Pokémon Pokemon that can absorb status such as Altaria, Floatzel,(AC) and Mareanie make great partners for Vigoroth due to how weak to status it is. Due to its lack of Leftovers, Vigoroth is quickly wear worn down by hazards,(AC) especially Toxic Spikes, preventing it from staying in to set up and from defensively checking anything while they are up, especially Toxic Spikes which prevent it from performing its role. That's why Thus, hazard removal from likes of Altaria and different Silvally formes is greatly appreciated by Vigoroth.

Vigoroth can run a stallbreaker set with Toxic(add space) /(add space) Slack Off(add space) /(add space) Taunt(add space) /(add space) Seismic Toss,(AC) but it's in general outdone outclassed by Regigigas,(AC) which pressurize more pressures stall more thanks to its greater offensive presence. Vigoroth can afford to also run a fully specially defensive set, however it doesn't allows it to avoid to much 2HKO while allowing that doesn't let it avoid any extra 2HKOes and allows Monferno to force Vigoroth out. Vigoroth can run moves without immunities such as Night Slash to prevent it from being walled by Ghost-types. However they really like power to be worth it. (I don't even know what this sentence means) Vigoroth can also run Chip Away to beat opposing defensive set-up Pokemon, but it's often not worth it because of the lack of power and the fact that Taunt Vigoroth already deals with every defensive set-up Pokemon outside of other Vigoroth. An offensive set is outdone outclassed by the other offensive Normal-types such as Komala, Bouffalant, Raticate,(AC) and Purugly.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fighting-types**: Fighting-(add hyphen)types such as Monferno, Silvally-Fighting,(AC) and Combusken can break Vigoroth Substitute even at +1 in Defense. If they carry Swords Dance,(AC) they can use Vigoroth as set-up fodder. However,(AC) none non-Flame Orb Machoke and Adamant Monferno are not an answers to Vigoroth.

**Strong Special Attackers**: Some strong special attackers such as Raichu, offensive Beheeyem,(AC) and Simipour can overwhelm Vigoroth thanks to their strong offensive moves. They can also use Vigoroth as set-up fodder.

**Item Removal**: Without an Eviolite,(AC) Vigoroth loses its ability to set up on a wide portion of the metagame, and is forced out by most special attackers. If Vigoroth isn't carrying Substitute, its Eviolite can easily be removed through Knock Off coming from Pokémon Pokemon such as Kecleon and Mareanie. Its Eviolite can also be removed through Trcik/Switcheroo Trick / Switcheroo from Mr.(add period) Mime or Floatzel.

**Bad Toxic Poison**: Vigoroth cannot reliably set-(no hyphen) up if Toxiced badly poisoned, which makes Toxic Spikes one of the best countermeasures to iensure Vigoroth won't set up. If Vigoroth isn't carrying Substitute, faster Pokémon Pokemon carrying Toxic such as Dugtrio-Alola and Silvally-Fighting can also prevent Vigoroth from setting up.

**Ghost-types**: Vigoroth is unable to hit Ghost-types which allows them to switch for free into Vigoroth. However Vigoroth can PP-stall many of them such as Gourgeist-XL if it's running Taunt. However,(AC) Taunt Vigoroth is unable to deal with Misdreavus which outspeeds and can Taunt Vigoroth first while not fearing anything from Vigoroth else from it. Moreover,(AC) Dusclops can stall out Vigoroth's Slack Off with thanks to Seismic Toss.

**Faster Taunt Users**: Faster Taunt users such as Floatzel, Oricorio, Misdreavus, and Grumpig can prevent Vigoroth from setting up and use it at as set-up fodder for Bulk Up in the case of Floatzel or Calm Mind in the case of Oricorio.

**Pyukumuku**: If Vigoroth isn't carrying Taunt, Pyukumuku will wall Vigoroth for(one word)ever and PP-stall it thanks to Spite and Rest. Moreover,(AC) Pyukumuku if running Poisonium-(no hyphen) Z, it can bypass once Vigoroth's Taunt and therefore toxic poison it.

**Lickilicky**: Thanks to its ability Oblivious, Lickilicky can Toxic Taunt Vigoroth. Moreover,(AC) Lickilicky has access to Seismic Toss,(AC) which does heavy damages to Vigoroth and breaks its Substitutes. The combination of Lickilicky and Pyukumuku are the reason why Vigoroth is unable to deal with stall and semi-stall.

**Phazing and Hazing**: If Vigoroth isn't carrying Taunt, it can be hazed by Mareanie's Haze or phazed by Gabite''(only one apostrophe)s or Avalugg's Roar.

[OVERVIEW]

Vigoroth is a fantastic defensive sweeper. Thanks to its great bulk boosted by an Eviolite (filler) and access to reliable recovery, common offensive Pokemon such as Golem and Choice Scarf Electivire can't 2HKO Vigoroth and therefore are set-up fodder. Vigoroth only needs a few EVs to outspeed Monferno and common defensive Pokémon such as Altaria and Probopass. This, coupled with Taunt or Substitute, allows Vigoroth to use them as set-up fodder as well. However although Vigoroth's bulk is great, if it loses its Eviolite, Vigoroth becomes frailer on the special side and therefore has a harder time setting up and becomes easier to revenge kill. Vigoroth faces competition from the several other Normal-types in ZU, most notably Bulk Up Komala, which, (AC) despite being usually worse at this role defensive sweeping (vague), is far more versatile has a better movepool. Also, Vigoroth doesn't benefit from its pure Normal typing, (AC, was also in Electrolyte's GP) which doesn't bring it any useful resistances or, alternatively: which, although immune to Ghost-type attacks, doesn't resist anything. Vigoroth also can't afford to run anything other than a Normal STAB move as an attack, and therefore needs several Attack boosts to break through Normal-type resists such as Bronzor and Probopass. In addition, Vigoroth is unable to touch Ghost-types such as Gourgeist-XL and Misdreavus and relies on PP stall to beat them. Since Vigoroth needs several turns to set up, it becomes is unable to perform its role if it gets poisoned, making it very vulnerable to Toxic Spikes. For the same reason, Vigoroth is also vulnerable to Trick / Switcheroo from Choice item users, which locks it into one move and prevents it from setting up.

It also lets Vigoroth PP-remove hyphen stall Ghost-types such as Gourgeist and beat Pyukumuku, the only viable Unaware user in ZU. Substitute is an option over Taunt that makes Vigoroth less susceptible to status coming from offensive moves, (AC) such as burn from Scald and paralysis from Discharge, and protects it from status from faster users fast status users, (AC) (Avoids repetition of 'from') such as Dugtrio-Alola, (AC) and Trick Pokemon, (AC) such as Mr. Mime. **Pyukumuku**: If Vigoroth isn't carrying Taunt, Pyukumuku will wall Vigoroth forever and PP-stall (Remove Hyphen) it thanks to Spite and Rest. Moreover, if running Poisonium Z, it can bypass Vigoroth's Taunt and poison it.

**Lickilicky**: Thanks to its ability Oblivious, Lickilicky can Toxic Taunt Vigoroth, without having to worry about Taunt. Moreover, Lickilicky has access to Seismic Toss, which does heavy damage to Vigoroth, (AC) and breaks its Substitute. The combination of Lickilicky and Pyukumuku are the reason why Vigoroth is unable to deal with stall and semi-stall.

**Phazing and Hazing**: If Vigoroth isn't carrying Taunt, it can be hazed by Mareanie's Haze or phazed by Gabite's or Avalugg's Roar.

Moves
========

Bulk Up allows Vigoroth to increase its Attack and Defense, making it very difficult to take down on the physical spectrum,. (AP) After one Bulk up, letting it avoids at +1 the 2HKO from Rampardos' Rock Slide while allowing it to and threatens opposing walls such as Golem and Altaria (makes it clearer what you mean instead of just saying +1). Facade is the preferred offensive move on Taunt Vigoroth, (AC) as it lets Vigoroth take advantage of status such as burn from Scald, poison from Sludge Bomb and Toxic from faster Pokemon. Return is Vigoroth's strongest STAB move, which can 2HKO, (AC)after Stealth Rocks, (AC) several Pokemon that could try to prevent Vigoroth set up threats such as Electivire and Combusken. Slack Off keeps Vigoroth healthy throughout the game, allowing it to accumulate Bulk Up boosts. Taunt allows Vigoroth to avoid common counters to defensive sweepers such as status moves such as like Bronzor's Toxic, hazing moves such as Mareanie's Haze, opposing Taunt coming from slower Pokemon such as Mawile, and slower set-up sweepers such as Curse Muk and defensive Nasty Plot or / Calm Mind Beheeyem. Mime. It also lets Vigoroth scout for what move a Choice item attacker will lock itself into. However, it leaves Vigoroth susceptible to slower Taunt, Pyukumuku, phazing, Ghost-types, and slower setup.

Set Details
========

The 92 EVs in Speed along with a Jolly nature allows Vigoroth to outspeed Adamant Monferno, preventing it from easily stopping Vigoroth. The rest of the EVs are put in HP and Special Defense, (AC) and the Eviolite is used in order to increase Vigoroth's special bulk, which is lackluster without EVs and doesn't get boosted by Bulk Up. The Eviolite is used to further increase Vigoroth's overall bulk. (This clarifies the purpose of the EVs in Special Defense while also separating Eviolite from just Special Defense, as that's not just what Eviolite does). It also allows Vigoroth to check special attackers such as Zebstrika and Rotom-Fan without Trick. Vital Spirit is Vigoroth's only ability, (AC) allowing it to avoiding sleep from Tangela, Smeargle, and Bellossom, (AC) and therefore letsting Vigoroth set up on them.

Usage Tips
========

Vigoroth should always avoid status, so when facing a Pokemon which can carry that carries Toxic, it should use Substitute or Taunt. Try to keep Vigoroth at full health by clicking with Slack Off, because Vigoroth needs to be at full health to so it can set up on Pokemon such as offensive Golem. Don't start to set up until Vigoroth checks are removed. If Vigoroth is facing a Pokemon that could carry carries Trick / Switcheroo, switch Vigoroth out, as a Tricked Vigoroth becomes is useless for the rest of the game. When every Pokemon that can deal with Vigoroth has been removed, proceed to set up and sweep. The best way to get rid of checks and counters is to weaken them through entry hazards and wearing them down with unboosted attack, as most of Vigoroth's answers, (AC) such as Silvally-Fighting or Bouffalant, (AC) don't have recovery. Toxic Poison can also help Vigoroth get rid of its check that can recover their health such as Nasty Plot Beheeyem and Roost + Calm Mind Oricorio, as they will get overwhelmed by Vigoroth's boosted attacks and the poison. Vigoroth can also through the game act as a defensive check to unboosted offensive Pokemon that don't carry status, (AC) such as Golem, Rapidash, and Silvally-Dark. It can also easily take on physical Electivire lacking Cross Chop and Zebstrika, though it should usually not be used as a check to them in case they punish Vigoroth with VoltTurn. (remove space between Volt Turn)

Team Options
========

Poison-type such as Muk, Mareanie, and Roselia are potential partners since they remove Toxic Spikes, (AC) which prevents Vigoroth from setting up. They also can check Fighting-type moves which can beat Vigoroth, such as from Raichu and Simipour in the case of Roselia, or Combusken and Sivally-Fighting in the case of Mareanie. In the case of Altaria and Granbull, they can also support Vigoroth thanks to with Heal Bell. Silvally-Dark with Pursuit can remove many answers to Vigoroth, (AC) such as Misdreavus, Grumpig, Dugtrio-Alola, and Beheeyem. It can also serve as an additional Knock Off absorber. Probopass' ability to remove Steel-types, (AC) such as defensive Probopass and Bronzor, (AC) is also appreciated by Vigoroth, which struggles even at +6 to break them. Probopass can also safely bring Vigoroth in the field with its slow Volt Switch. Pokemon that can absorb status, (AC) such as Altaria, Floatzel, and Mareanie, (AC) make great partners for Vigoroth, (AC) due to how weak to status it is. Due Thanks (repetition) to its lack of Leftovers, Vigoroth is quickly worn down by hazards, especially Toixc Spikes, preventing it from staying in to set up and from defensively checking anything while they Toxic Spikes are up. Thus, hazard removal from the likes of Altaria and different Silvally formes is greatly appreciated by Vigoroth.

Other Options
=============

Vigoroth can run a stallbreaker set with Toxic / Slack Off / Taunt / Seismic Toss, but it's its in general outclassed by Regigigas, (AC) which pressures stall more effectively thanks to its greater offensive presence. Vigoroth can also run a fully specially defensive set,; (RC, add semicolon) however, (AC) that doesn't let it avoid any extra 2HKOes, (AC) and it allows Monferno to force Vigoroth out. Vigoroth can run coverage moves without immunities such as Night Slash to prevent it from being walled by Ghost-types. However, (AC) they really lack the power needed to be worth it. Vigoroth can also run Chip Away to beat opposing defensive set-up (remove hyphen). But it's often not worth it because of the lack of power and the fact that Taunt already deals with every defensive set-up Pokemon, (AC) outside of other Vigoroth. An offensive set is outclassed by the other offensive Normal-types, (AC) such as Komala, Bouffalant, Raticate, and Purugly.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fighting-types**: Fighting-types such as Monferno, Silvally-Fighting, and Combusken can break Vigoroth Substitute even at +1 in Defense. If they carry Swords Dance, they can use Vigoroth as set-up fodder. However, non-Flame Orb Machoke and Adamant Monferno are not answers to Vigoroth.

**Strong Special Attacker**: Some strong special attackers, (AC) such as Raichu, offensive Beheeyem, and Simipour, (AC) can overwhelm Vigoroth thanks to their strong offensive moves. They can also use Vigoroth as set-up fodder.

**Item Removal**: Without an Eviolite, Vigoroth loses its ability to set up on a wide portion of the metagame, and is forced out by most special attackers. If Vigoroth isn't carrying Substitute, its Eviolite can easily be removed through Knock Off coming from Pokemon such as Kecleon and Mareanie. Its Eviolite can also be removed through Trick / Switcheroo from Mr. Mime or Floatzel.

**Toxic Poison**: Vigoroth cannot reliably set up if it's badly poisoned, which makes Toxic Spikes one of the best countermeasures to ensure Vigoroth won't can't set up. If Vigoroth isn't carrying Substitute, faster Pokemon carrying Toxic, (AC) such as Dugtrio-Alola and Silvally-Fighting, (AC) can also prevent Vigoroth from setting up.

**Ghost-types**: Vigoroth is unable to hit Ghost-type, (AC) which allows them to switch for free into Vigoroth for free. However, (AC) Vigoroth can PP-stall (remove hyphen) many of them, (AC) such as Gourgeist-XL, (AC) if it's running Taunt. However, Taunt Vigoroth is unable to deal with Misdreavus, (AC) which outspeeds Vigoroth and can safely Taunt Vigoroth it first while not fearing anything else from it. Moreover, Dusclops can stall out Vigoroth's Slack Off with Seismic Toss.

**Faster Taunt Users**: Faster Taunt users, (AC) such as Floatzel, Oricorio, Misdreavus, and Grumpig, (AC) can prevent Vigoroth from setting up and use it as set-up fodder for Bulk Up in the case of Floatzel or Calm Mind in the case of Oricorio.
