PU vikavolt

:ss/vikavolt:
[OVERVIEW]
Vikavolt is a wallbreaking powerhouse, sporting a massive base 145 Special Attack stat, powerful STAB attacks, Volt Switch, and decent coverage to boot. It can also switch into threats like Palossand and Passimian thanks to its passable bulk, typing, and access to recovery. However, Vikavolt is very slow for a wallbreaker, and its Bug typing can be a hindrance, as it leaves Vikavolt unable to switch into Pokemon like Talonflame and Regirock that it can otherwise easily pressure. It is often outclassed by Ribombee and Galvantula as a Sticky Web setter, as their Speed tier is much more suited for the aggressive playstyle, with Galvantula also sporting the same typing and Volt Switch. Similarly, Agility sets suffer from competition from Quiver Dance Ribombee.

[SET]
name: Offensive Pivot
move 1: Sticky Web / Thunderbolt
move 2: Volt Switch
move 3: Bug Buzz / Energy Ball
move 4: Roost
item: Heavy-Duty Boots
ability: Levitate
nature: Modest
evs: 76 HP / 252 SpA / 180 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

This set takes advantage of Vikavolt's wallbreaking potential, forcing out most Pokemon slower than it such as Vaporeon and Jellicent. Although Thunderbolt is a great reliable STAB move for Vikavolt, Sticky Web can be used on more offensive teams as speed control, giving Vikavolt a few more opportunities to outspeed and pressure opposing Pokemon such as Abomasnow and Adamant Kingler but mostly serving to support its teammates. Bug Buzz is primarily used on Vikavolt as a reliable way to hit Pokemon that Electric-type moves cannot hit as well, such as Guzzlord and Tsareena. However, Energy Ball is a useful alterative to hit Ground-types harder, such as Palossand and Rhydon, that may attempt to block Volt Switch. A good partner for this set is Passimian, which can assist in offensively checking common switch-ins such as Gigalith and Regirock and deter the opponent from using Defog thanks to Defiant. It can also form a solid VoltTurn core with Vikavolt. Other wallbreakers that appreciate the Sticky Web support like Magmortar and Toxicroak make for solid partners. The former appreciates Vikavolt taking on Water-types such as Lanturn, while the latter can pressure defensive behemoths like Gigalith for Vikavolt.

[SET]

move 2: Thunderbolt
move 3: Bug Buzz
move 4: Energy Ball / Roost
item: Heavy-Duty Boots
ability: Levitate
nature: Timid
evs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

This set uses Vikavolt's wallbreaking potential and transforms it into a late-game sweeper, using Agility to make it faster than the entirety of the unboosted metagame. Vikavolt's natural bulk and typing let it use Agility against Choice Scarf Pokemon such as Passimian and Togedemaru as well as more defensive Pokemon that struggle to damage it such as Xatu and Claydol. Energy Ball is used to defeat Pokemon that resist its primary attacks, such as Palossand and Galarian Stunfisk. Roost, however, can give Vikavolt more longevity, allowing it to recover on more defensive threats to make it harder to revenge kill. This set pairs well with entry hazards setters such as Spikes Garbodor and Alolan Sandslash, as these help Vikavolt force its way past difficult-to-break Pokemon such as Gigalith and Assault Vest Guzzlord. It also defensively pairs well with Ground-types such as Palossand and Silvally-Ground that resist Rock-type attacks from Pokemon such as Lycanroc and Regirock, since these Pokemon often stop Vikavolt from sweeping.

[OVERVIEW]
Vikavolt is a wallbreaking powerhouse, sporting a massive 145 SpA stat, a powerful stab pivot move(make this plural, has bug buzz, tbolt, and even vswitch if you count that), and decent coverage to boot. It also has defensive utility with its passable bulk, typing to resist common attacks(such as?), Levitate, and Roost. However, Vikavolt is very slow for a breaker, and its Bug typing can be a hindrance when switching into common Pokemon that it enjoys pressuring such as Regirock(you wouldnt switch in against a regirock). It is often outclassed by Ribombee as a Webs setter, as Ribombee's speed tier is much more suited for the aggressive playstyle.(also mention galvantula as a webs setter, faster with the same stab combo)

[SET COMMENTS]
This set takes advantage of Vikavolt's wallbreaking potential, forcing out most mons slower than it with its dual stab alone. Volt Switch is a must on this set, taking advantage of the limited switch-ins that Vikavolt has and bringing in another powerful breaker to make progress. (dont need to explain vswitch, remove)Although Thunderbolt is a great reliable stab for Vikavolt, Sticky Web can be used on more offensive teams as speed control, giving Vikavolt a few more opportunities to outspeed and pressure opposing Pokemon such as Aggron(theres faster stuff that it outspeeds with webs, like neutral nature kingler and +speed abomasnow, change example to those), but mostly serving to support its teammates. As a Sticky Webs setter, Vikavolt's niche is its defensive utility and sheer power, but it is often less suited for the role than Ribombee. Bug Buzz is used primarily on Vikavolt as a reliable way to hit pokemon that Electric moves cannot hit as well, such as Roserade(banned) and Tsareena. However, Energy Ball is a useful alterative to hit Ground types that it cannot use Volt Switch on harder, such as Palossand and Rhydon. A good partner for this set is Passimian, which can both assist in checking common switch-ins offensively such as Gigalith and Regirock, while also gaining a Defiant boost when Vikavolt's Sticky Webs are Defogged. The EV spread invests in speed to outspeed uninvested base 65 speed Pokemon, most notably Sandslash-Alola and Vaporeon. Another set option is Choice Specs, which exaggerates Vikavolt's power and makes it virtually impossible to switch into. This set has major drawbacks, however, as Vikavolt takes 25% of its HP from Stealth Rocks and struggles to get opportunities to wallbreak.(this has nothing to do with this set, move to overview or remove)

This set uses Vikavolt's wallbreaking potential and transforms it into a late game sweeper, using Agility to make it faster than the rest of the unboosted metagame.('the rest of' isnt the right wording here, since that would mean vikavolt isnt boosted either) This set uses both Thunderbolt and Bug Buzz as strong reliable attacks that help it defeat most of the metagame. (dont need to explain this, remove)Energy Ball is used to defeat Pokemon that resist its primary attacks, such as Palossand and Stunfisk-Galar. Roost, however, can give Vikavolt more longevity if it cannot sweep, allowing it to recover on more defensive threats.(also makes it harder to rk) This set pairs well with entry hazards such as Spikes provided by Roserade(still banned), as these help force its way past Pokemon such as Gigalith that are hard for it to kill. It also pairs defensively with Ground types such as Palossand and Silvally-Ground that resist Rock moves from either bulky or faster threats.(most mons are either bulky or fast, remove that part and replace with examples of rock move users)
(add something about when to set up agility)

Energy Ball is used to defeat Pokemon that resist its primary attacks, such as Palossand and Stunfisk-Galar. Roost, however, can give Vikavolt more longevity if it cannot sweep, allowing it to recover on more defensive threats to make it harder to revenge kill just reword so it's more clear. This set takes advantage of Vikavolt's wallbreaking potential, forcing out most Pokemon slower than it when running this spread such as Vaporeon and Jellicent. Although Thunderbolt is a great reliable STAB move for Vikavolt, Sticky Web can be used on more offensive teams as speed control, giving Vikavolt a few more opportunities to outspeed and pressure opposing Pokemon such as Abomasnow and Adamant Kingler (RC) but mostly serving to support its teammates.(feel like you'd make a stronger justification for Thunderbolt in this sentence if anything given Sticky Web is the primary slash) Bug Buzz is primarily used primarily on Vikavolt as a reliable way to hit Pokemon that Electric-type moves cannot hit as well, such as Guzzlord and Tsareena. However, Energy Ball is an a useful alterative to hit Ground-types that it cannot use Volt Switch on harder, such as Palossand and Rhydon,(AC) that may attempt to block Volt Switch.(I think you're going for this? the sentence otherwise reads like Volt Switch can damage these foes as well) A good partner for this set is Passimian, which can both assist in offensively checking common switch-ins offensively such as Gigalith and Regirock and deter the opponent from using Defog thanks to Defiant.
