Bug
========

Volcarona can use Psychic with Psychium Z and Hidden Power Electric to beat some of its checks, including Toxapex and Mantine, and even break troublesome defensive Flying-type cores. However, Psychium Z Volcarona is unable to beat Heatran, making Steel a rough matchup for Volcarona's team.

[SET]

move 4: Hidden Power Electric

[SET COMMENTS]
Moves
========

Quiver Dance allows Volcarona to outspeed and threaten Pokemon like Tapu Koko. Fire Blast provides strong neutral hits on walls like Zapdos and Gliscor and beats Steel-types such as Celesteela. Psychic in conjunction with Hidden Power Electric allows Volcarona to beat Toxapex and Mantine, breaking Water-type teams. It also threatens other defensive cores such as that of Flying- and Poison-type teams.

Set Details
========

Maximum Speed investment along with a Timid nature makes Volcarona outspeed Pokemon such as Choice Scarf Excadrill after a Quiver Dance boost and Zapdos in general as well as Speed tie with other base 100 Speed Pokemon such as Mega Charizard Y. Psychium Z lets Volcarona get past some of its check such as Toxapex. Flame Body is used for its chance to cripple physical attackers and possibly make them setup fodder.

Usage Tips
========

Volcarona should avoid switching into Stealth Rock, getting poisoned, and getting paralyzed to preserve its sweeping potential. It works best mid- or late-game when its checks and counters such as Nihilego, Chansey, and Alolan Muk have been taken care of by teammates like Mega Scizor and Mega Heracross. Against Water-type teams, Volcarona's decent Special Defense allows it to set up safely on Toxapex's weak Scald. It is important to scout the Toxapex set, however, as some sets utilize Toxic. Similarly, Volcarona can set up on defensive Celesteela and Mantine against Flying-type teams, but again it needs to scout for Toxic on Celesteela. Due to lack of Hidden Power Ground, Volcarona should set up only when Heatran is taken out or significantly weakened by its teammates. Volcarona can bluff a Firium Z set by not revealing its coverage move until the right moment, luring its usual checks such as Mantine and Toxapex.

Team Options
========

Armaldo and Forretress can not only clear Stealth Rock with Rapid Spin for Volcarona but also set up their own Stealth Rock so that Volcarona has easier time scoring KOs. With Stone Edge, Armaldo can check Fire-types that threaten Volcarona such as Choice Scarf Victini and Mega Charizard Y. Forretress can provide the team with slow Volt Switch pivoting and a neutrality to Rock, allowing it to take on threats like Tyranitar and Terrakion with Gyro Ball. As Psychium Z Volcarona lacks Hidden Power Ground to check Heatran and beat Steel-type teams, Mega Heracross is great teammate. Mega Scizor can take care of threatening Rock-types such as Nihilego, Terrakion, and Mega Diancie, and in return, Volcarona beats Water-types that Mega Scizor has trouble breaking such as Toxapex. Choice Band Scizor also acts as an offensive pivot with U-turn and can trap Choice Band Victini after V-create with Pursuit. Heracross or Buzzwole with a Choice Scarf can revenge kill faster threats to Volcarona such as Mega Lopunny and Mega Charizard Y. Additionally, Heracross can Pursuit trap Victini, while Buzzwole can improve the Dragon matchup. Assault Vest Araquanid can check special Fire-types such as opposing Volcarona and Z-Celebrate Victini. With Wacan Berry and Mirror Coat instead, Araquanid can take out strong special attackers like Tapu Koko so that Volcarona has easier time against Electric-type teams. Additionally, Araquanid and Galvantula can provide Sticky Web support, giving +1 Volcarona the ability to outspeed whole Water teams that use Choice Scarf Greninja. Galvantula can also check Water-and Ground-type Pokemon with Thunder and Energy Ball, alleviating pressure on Volcarona.

**Bulky Water-types**: Bulky Water-types such as Toxapex, Sap Sipper Azumarill, and Araquanid take little damage from Volcarona's coverage moves and whittle it down with their super effective STAB attacks. They are threatened by the Psychium Z set, however.

**Haze and Phazing Moves**: Pokemon like Toxapex, Mantine, and Garchomp carry moves such as Haze and Dragon Tail, which effectively negate Volcarona's ability to act as a setup sweeper. Toxapex and Mantine should watch out for the Psychium Z set, though.

[OVERVIEW]

Bug
========

* Access to decent movepool allows Volcarona to utilize different coverage moves to beat specific threats for Bug-type teams. Volcarona can use Psychic with Psychium Z and Hidden Power [Electric] to beat some of its usual checks such as Toxapex and Mantine, and even break hard-to-beat defensive core of Flying-type teams for Bug-teams.
* However running different coverage moves comes at the cost of not being able to beat some of the threats it normally beats such as Psychium Z Volcarona is unable to beat Heatran due to Volcarona not using Hidden Power [Ground] on the set and makes Steel match up rough for Bug-teams. Hence a specific set like Psychium Z needs a good team support for Volcarona that can handle Steel-type teams such as Mega Heracross or Buzzwole. I edited the first part to remove the fluff, and the second sentence is just team options text.

Moves
========

* Quiver Dance boosts Volcarona's stats and turn it into a threatening Pokemon, allowing it to outspeed and threaten Pokemon such as Tapu Koko for Bug-teams.
* Fire Blast is the only STAB move on the set that allows Volcarona to hit hard neutrally and it beats Steel-types such as Celesteela which is a threat to Bug-teams.
* Psychic in conjunction with Psychium Z lets Volcarona use Shattered Psyche that not only beats defensive Pokemon such as Toxapex easily but it also targets Pokemon that resist Fire hits hard to Pokemon such as Garchomp for neutral damage after a Quiver Dance boost.
* Hidden Power [Electric] allows Volcarona to beat Water-types such as Mantine and that would otherwise simply nullify Volcarona's stat boosts with Haze and beat it. Similarly, Gyarados which is a threat to Bug-teams is also KOed by Hidden Power [Electric]

Set Details
========

* Maximum Special Attack investment allows Volcarona to maximize its damage output.
*Maximum Speed investment along with a Timid Nature makes Volcarona as fast as possible allowing it to outspeed Pokemon such as Substitue and Toxic Zapdos and Speed tie with other base 100 speed Pokemon such as Mega Charizard Y. You can just combine the SpA and Speed sentences.
* Psychium Z as an item allows Volcarona to utilize a 175 base power Shattered Psyche to get past some of its check such as Toxapex.
* Flame Body is used as an ability which has a decent chance to burn Physical Attackers using a contact move, thereby making them crippled and possibly allowing Volcarona more opportunities to set up.

Usage Tips
========

* Since Volcarona has crippling weakness to Stealth Rock, it should not be brought in the battle when entry hazards are up as it severely limits Volcarona's sweeping potential, making it much easier to check for opposing teams. Entry Hazards must be cleared before Volcarona can set up.
* Volcarona works best Mid- or late-game when its checks and counters such as Nihilego, Chansey, and Alolan Muk are taken care of by teammates like Mega Scizor or Mega Heracross.
* Against Water-type teams, Volcarona's decent Special Defense allows it to set up safely on Toxapex as it is passive and has weak Scald. It is important to scout the Toxapex set as some sets utilize Toxic. Similarly, Volcarona can set up against Pokemon such as defensive Celesteela and Mantine against Flying-type teams however again it is important to scout the set as some Celesteela set use Toxic.
* Status moves such as Toxic and Paralysis should be avoided at all as it cripples Volcarona undermining its sweeping potential and making it much easier to check for opposing teams.
* Due to lack of Hidden Power [Ground] on the set, Volcarona should set up when Heatran is taken out or weakened by its teammates as Heatran takes little damage from this set.
* You could add a bullet talking about bluffing the Firium-Z set as its checks differ from this set.

Team Options
========

* Armaldo and Forretress make up for great teammate as it can not only clear off Stealth Rock with Rapid Spin for Volcarona but it can also set up Stealth Rock so that Volcarona has easier time scoring KOs. With Stone Edge, Armaldo can also check Fire-types that threaten Volcarona such as Choice Scarf Victini and Mega Charizard Y. Forretress can provide the team with slow Volt-Switch pivot and take neutral damage from Rock-type moves due to its typing, allowing it to take on threats like Tyranitar and Terrakion with Gyro Ball.
* Mega Scizor or Choice Band Scizor can take care of threatening Rock-types such as Nihilego, Terrakion and Mega Diancie for Volcarona and in return Volcarona beats Water-types that Mega Scizor has trouble breaking such as Toxapex. Choice Band Scizor also acts as an offensive pivot with U-Turn gaining momentum on a switch-in. With Pursuit, Choice Band Scizor can trap and beat Choice Band Victini after it has done a V-Create.
* With Assault Vest, Araquanid can check Special Fire-types such as opposing Volcarona and Z-Celebrate Victini thanks to its good special bulk and threaten with STAB Liquidation. With Wacan Berry and Mirror Coat, Araquanid can take out Strong Special Attackers like Tapu Koko so that Volcarona has easier time against Electric-type teams.
*Additionally, Araquanid and Galvantula can provide Sticky Web support to Volcarona so that it can outspeed and threaten opposing teams much easier after a Quiver Dance boost. Galvantula can also check Water-and Ground-type Pokemon due to access to Thunder and Energy Ball alleviating pressure off from Volcarona.
* Pokemon that can break Steel-type teams make for a good teammate for this set. Mega Heracross, Swords Dance Heracross and Buzzwole can break Steel-type teams relatively easily and beat Heatran which takes little damage from Psychium Z set due to lack of Hidden Power [Ground] on the set. Once Heatran is out, Volcarona can threaten the rest of the team with STAB Fire Blast. Mega Heracross is outsped and OHKO'd by offensive Heatran.
* Yanmega can opt for different coverage moves and aim to check or weaken similar checks with Volcarona. Volcarona beats walls that are checks to Yanmega like Mantine and Toxapex with Hidden Power [Electric] and Psychic, respectively. while Yanmega beats Ground and Rock types like Swampert and Mega Diancie with Giga Drain and Fire types like Mega Charizard Y with Ancient Power. Yanmega feels a little redundant as a partner to this Volcarona, at least to me.

Note: When you talk about Hidden Power, the type shouldn't have the brackets. I.e., Hidden Power Electric, not Hidden Power [Electric]; please fix throughout.

Otherwise, I mostly just removed unnecessary text or reduntant info. Good job QC 1/3

* Fire Blast is the only STAB move on the set that allows Volcarona to hit hard neutrally and it beats Steel-types such as Celesteela.
- you mention that this volcarona set can put in work against Flying, so it could be good to give examples of things that don't appreciate Fire Blast that can tank its other attacks like Zapdos and Gliscor

- feel like scarf excadrill is one of the biggest reasons to use Timid over Modest on Volcarona alongside the other base 100's, think that it should be an example of what timid can do at +1

* Mega Scizor or Choice Band Scizor can take care of threatening Rock-types such as Nihilego, Terrakion and Mega Diancie for Volcarona and in return Volcarona beats Water-types that Mega Scizor has trouble breaking such as Toxapex. - would give more of a focus on mega scizor, since its the best mega with this set. Talk about Pursuit trapping with Choice Scarf Heracross

* Pokemon that can break Steel-type teams make for a good teammate for this set. Heracross and Buzzwole can break Steel-type teams relatively easily and beat Heatran which takes little damage from Psychium Z set due to lack of Hidden Power Ground on the set.
- talk about pursuit trapping with heracross, especially pokemon like Victini

QC 2/3

Moves:
- I would rephrase Psychic and Hidden Power Electric here. They're not used to "beat defensive Pokemon such as Toxapex" and "Water-types such as Mantine". Those two moves are chosen specifically to beat both of them. This lets Volcarona break three of the most threatening defensive cores: Water, Flying, and Poison. Being able to hit other Pokemon is just the icing on the cake. I think this set, which has a very defined niche, should focus on exactly what it's supposed to do.

Team Options:
- Mega Heracross should be mentioned right after Armaldo and Forretress. Its ability to break Steel teams is almost mandatory when Volcarona lacks Hidden Power Ground.
- When discussing Sticky Web, you need to talk about slowing down Choice Scarf Greninjna, giving +1 Volcarona the ability to outspeed the whole Water team.
- Heracross and Buzzwole should probably be discussed near the other time you mention Choice Scarf Heracross. Worth talking about Buzzwole handling Dragon teams, which Volcarona has trouble with.
