[Overview]

Volcarona is one of the best sweepers in the tier because of its access to Quiver Dance, great offensive stats, and ability to pick its checks and counters. Thanks to Volcarona's STAB combination, coverage options in Giga Drain and Psychic, and access to Safeguard, it can customize its checks according to its team support. Volcarona's decent Speed tier allows it to outpace common Pokemon such as Hydreigon, Kyurem, and Tapu Lele before a Speed boost while out every unboosted Pokemon in OU after a single Quiver Dance. This gives Volcarona more setup opportunities and an easier job cleaning. However, Volcarona is left vulnerable to many physical attackers, including Garchomp, Choice Scarf Landorus-T, and Urshifu-R, which can either take a hit and OHKO it back or revenge kill it with strong priority. Its coverage can also be taken advantage of by common Pokemon resistant to it, most notably Heatran.

A bulkier set allows Volcarona to use bulky Water-types like Tapu Fini, Slowking, and Slowbro as set up fodders, as their respective Water-type moves will not do significant damage after many Special Defense boosts. Roost greatly improves Volcarona's longevity, which makes it a more reliable tank and gives it more setup opportunities. Volcarona's defensive typing and access to Flame Body lets it take advantage of Pokemon like Kartana and easily switch into threats like Melmetal, Kyurem, Scizor, and Rillaboom. Safeguard lets it handle status users like Blissey, Clefable, Tank Garchomp, and Landorus-T. Alternatively, Psychic allows it to hit Urshifu-R and Toxapex for super effective damage. Bug Buzz can be used to hit Garchomp and Tyranitar more reliably. 88 Speed EVs allow Volcarona to outspeed Zeraora after one Quiver Dance. The 16 Special Attack EVs allow it to always OHKO Rillaboom without boosting. 248 HP EVs and 156 Defense EVs let Volcarona survive an Aqua Jet from Choice Band Crawdaunt.

Common Defoggers like Corviknight, Zapdos, and Tapu Fini can remove entry hazards as well as check Flying-types like Dragonite and Hawlucha. Landorus-T is a great offensive partner because it brings Volcarona in on Steel-types like Skarmory, which Volcarona can set up on. Landorus-T can also potentially KO Toxapex and Heatran, easing Volcarona's job in sweeping. Tapu Fini can switch into Urshifu-R, Heatran, and the aforesaid Flying-types and cripple the latter with Knock Off. Volcarona appreciates entry hazard and Knock Off support to chip potential checks like Heatran and Blissey. Volcarona also likes being paired with pivots like Zeraora, Tornadus-T, Slowking, and Slowbro. Trick Clefable and Tapu Fini can lure Heatran and Toxapex and give them an unfavorable item, making them easier to set up on.

Quiver Dance's Special Defense boosts become especially problematic for special wallbreakers like Hydreigon and Dragapult, which could normally threaten Volcarona. Fire Blast guarantees an OHKO on defensive Landorus-T after a Quiver Dance at the cost of less accuracy and PP. Fiery Dance is an option that makes it easier to snowball with its high Special Attack raise chance, but Fire Blast and Flamethrower are often better choices because they offer more immediate damage. Psychic can deal hefty damage to Toxapex and Urshifu-R, but Giga Drain can be used instead to punish Water- and Ground-types like Swampert, Tapu Fini, Hippowdon, and Gastrodon, as well as providing gradual recovery it can offer during a sweep. Heavy-Duty Boots negates damage from entry hazards, namely Stealth Rock. This greatly enhances Volcarona's longevity and setup opportunities.

This Volcarona set is commonly seen on offensively oriented teams because it likes being paired with strong wallbreakers, preferably physical attackers, as they can more reliably hit specially defensive walls allowing Volcarona to sweep as soon and reliably as possible. Examples are Urshifu-R, Garchomp, and Landorus-T, which can all remove Heatran and severely damage Blissey and Tyranitar. Urshifu-R and Landorus-T can also pivot on Skarmory and Tangrowth, which Volcarona can set up on. Urshifu-R is also really good at luring and chipping away at Slowking and Tapu Fini, which can both limit Volcarona's sweeping potential if healthy. Landorus-T and Garchomp can set up Stealth Rock to wear down Heatran and other defensive checks. Rillaboom can safely bring Volcarona into incoming Skarmory, Corviknight, and Scizor and provide passive healing with its Grassy Terrain, weakening Earthquake from common Volcarona switch-ins like Landorus-T and Garchomp. Other Knock Off users like Clefable and Ferrothorn can lure and dispatch Heatran of recovery and the latter two can set up entry hazards to further pressure it. Tapu Lele is a great partner because it can help Volcarona overwhelm their shared checks, specifically Heatran. Tapu Lele can also block priority moves and power up Volcarona's Psychic with Psychic Terrain. Nasty Plot Tornadus-T can lure and 2HKO both Heatran and Stealth Rock Tyranitar, opening up Volcarona's sweeping potential late-game.

On top of its already present 4MSS, Volcarona's options can't be replaced by any other moves.

Checks and Counters
====

**Revenge Killers** Choice Scarf Landorus-T and Garchomp often carry Rock-type coverage in the form of Stone Edge, which will OHKO Volcarona. However, these Pokemon are prone to be outpaced and overwhelmed after a Quiver Dance boost. Urshifu-R's Aqua Jet and Bisharp's Sucker Punch can revenge kill Volcarona if it is already weakened.

**Heatran**: Heatran is a hard counter to Volcarona. It resists both of its main coverage options, as well as being immune to its Fire-type STAB moves. Heatran is also capable of shutting it down with Taunt and putting it on a timer with Toxic. However, Heatran lacking Toxic can still lose to Roost Volcarona because of its incapability to break it after the Special Defense boosts and its lack of recovery.

**Water-types**: Urshifu-R and Crawdaunt can easily force out Volcarona or potentially KO it with Aqua Jet. However, neither want to switch in, as Volcarona can nail both of them super effectively. Haze Toxapex, Calm Mind Tapu Fini, Gastrodon, and Swampert can shut down Volcarona lacking the right coverage moves.

**Special Walls**: Blissey can comfortably beat non-Safeguard Volcarona variants, which otherwise uses it as setup fodder, as Blissey is very reliant on status to beat Volcarona. Tyranitar is capable of removing Volcarona with its Rock-type STAB, it can also take Volcarona's Bug-type STAB move reasonably well unboosted. Haze Toxapex can easily outlast Non-Psychic Volcarona.

Bulky needs to be a set. Honestly believe this is eons better than the offensive set, but that's my subjective opinion. What's not subjective is that this set allows Volcarona to set up on fatter teams while also beating non-Toxic Toxapex 1v1 through mind games with roost, Quiver, and Psychic. It also makes other defensive water types (ie the Slowtwins, Swampert etc) set up fodder because crits are needed to win the 1v1s.

Psychic is the best coverage move but Safeguard should be mentioned because it prevents status and allows Volc to set up on passive mons that rely on status to do damage. Giga Drain can be mentioned for non pex Waters but might not be worth a slash

For what it's worth, I've been running the following spread for my personal Bulky Volcarona: 224 HP / 84 Def / 16 SpA / 184 Spe with Timid.

• HP hits 367 HP, which is the highest number before it's divisible by 4 and 16. This gives the highest amount of HP with the least amount of chip damage.
• 16 SpA always OHKOs 4 HP Rillaboom at +0, which I felt was an important benchmark so you don't get Knocked
• 184 Speed and Timid always outspeeds max Speed Landorus-Therian, and thereby outspeeds Scarf at +1
• The rest is just dumped into Def

• This Volcarona set is commonly seen on dual screen teams because obviously, unnecessary Volcarona's bulk isn't very impressive so it would greatly appreciate taking minimized chip while setting up.
• Volcarona's incapacity to dispatch defensive Pokemon like Heatran and Blissey means it greatly appreciates being partnered with lures for the aforementioned Pokemon.
• An example of one would be Scizor carrying Superpower. Offensive Scizor can catch Heatran coming in and OHKO it with Superpower. Scizor can also get Volcarona in safely via U-turn.
• Focus Punch Nidoking, even though uncommon, can lure and remove Blissey with prior chip.
• Volcarona also appreciates being partnered with Slowking-Galar variants running Earthquake for them being able to lure Heatran and meet them with a surprise 2HKO.

i think this whole section can be changed barring the start. Focus Punch Nidoking, while possible, its kinda weird and most nidos prefer running thunderbolt + flamethrower/ice beam instead of sub + focus punch. You could mention Kartana as a teammate that can deal with Blissey and chip the opposing team so Volc can clean late game. This can also be done by RillaLucha, which also provides Volcarona passive recovery and a boost to giga drain. Entry hazard setters are also appreciated so you could mention Ferro or Lando-T. Lastly, you can mention what DOES Volc in exchange to its partners. Scizor as a teammate is fine i guess.

• Bulky Volcarona fits greatly on balance that would appreciate a strong sweeper and a blanket check to Grass-types like Kartana and Rillaboom.
• Bulky Volcarona especially is more likely to get it's Heavy-Duty Boots knocked off via Rillaboom and Kartana so it appreciates defoggers like Corviknight and Mandibuzz. They can also check Pokemon like Hawlucha and Dragonite, which Volcarona would be OHKOed by.
• Volcarona also appreciates Slowbro as a partner because it can beat Volcarona's checks. For example, Slowbro is a pretty solid check to Rain staples like Barraskewda and Urshifu-Rapid-Strike, which Volcarona would get dismantled by.

• Volcarona can also use a Subsitute + Swarm set that would allow Volcarona access to much easier setup. The aim of this set is to take advantage of things Volcarona can force out to set up a Subsitute, which then guarantees you free chip or a Quiver Dance. Mention the drawbacks of this set like being worn down easily and also just having a weird movepool with QD, Sub, Bug buzz and Flamethrower/Psychic

Checks and Counters

**Rock-types** Rock-types such as Terrakion, Tyranitar, and Lycanroc-Dusk can switch in, take one hit at the very least, and remove Volcarona with their super effective Rock-type STAB attacks. it may be worth something adding that they must be wary of +1 giga drain and bug buzz in tyranitar's case

**Knock Off**: Volcarona is extremely vulnerable to Knock Off because it needs its item in Heavy-Duty Boots due to it having a 4x weakness to Stealth Rock.

**Heatran**: Heatran can switch in to Volcarona without breaking a sweat Why?. Heatran can easily force out Volcarona because it strongly dislikes getting poisoned, it also takes a lot of damage from Heatran's powerful Fire-type STAB attack. Not only this; Heatran can also Taunt Volcarona so it cant use Roost / QD and beat it in long term.

**Bulky Water-types**: Bulky Water-types like Swampert and Tapu Fini can force out Volcarona with their super effective Water-type STAB moves. Tapu Fini can also remove Volcarona's Heavy-Duty Boots via Knock Off and cripple it with trick + choice scarf and Volcarona fears Toxic from Swampert because it strongly dislikes being put on a timer. add something about Giga Drain dealing heavy damage to these two at +1

**Blissey**: Blissey cannot threaten Volcarona offensively, but it can easily stall out Volcarona with Toxic and Seismic Toss spam. Volcarona cannot really make progress on Blissey, so it should not start attempting a sweep until it is removed.

• However, Volcarona is very prone to Knock Off as it needs its Heavy-Duty Boots because of its 4x weakness to Stealth Rock. i mean yeah, but Volc isnt staying in on a knock off until its ready to sweep. also add physical attackers here. Alright, gonna post a few spreads that can be used. Max HP + max speed is legit ass. It doesn't take hits very well and the speed isnt necessary on bulky sets thanks to quiver dance.

This outspeeds Dragapult and Zeraora after a boost (424 speed). You can go 2 points higher if you wanna outspeed + natured base 80s, but thats really pushing things (DNite is the only notable one and DNite beats Volc anyways.

Use one of those three. I wouldnt go any faster because at that point you're losing out on a lot of the bulk that makes Bulkarona such a deadly set and you might as well just use an offensive set. The first is my preference because you can usually get a 2nd boost without too many issues and outspeed everything anyways, and the extra bulk is very helpful against physical hits from weaker attacks. For example, the first spread only has a 9.4% chance to be 2HKOed by defensive Lando T, and you outspeed the 92 Speed defensive set listed in the Smogon Dex.

• A bulkier set on Volcarona allows it to switch in to Rillaboom, Kartana, and Scizor more reliably. This is where the knock off mention should be, as those are common moves on banded rilla and choiced kart, and losing the boots is a problem if Volc isnt ready to sweep
• Volcarona being vulnerable to Toxic spammers like Blissey and Toxapex makes Volcarona an excellent Safeguard user. remove the mention of toxapex. safeguard Volc cannot 1v1 haze pex
• Volcarona opting for Bug Buzz puts it in a better position against Tyranitar and Hydreigon. However, Safeguard lets it set up much more freely. mention psychic. it hits Dragapult neutrally (allowing it to win the 1v1 vs special sets), garchomp, and most importantly, allows volc to 1v1 non toxic pex. Bug Buzz is pretty bad. Hydreigon is the only thing it hits and TTar OHKOes Volc anyways. Psychic and Safeguard should be the two moves emphasized here.
• Roost greatly improves Volcarona's longetivity which makes it a more reliable tank.
• 248 HP EVs are invested so Volcarona can get the most HP out of Roost. It also allows it to switch in to targets more reliably in general. Okay so use one of the spreads I gave you and mention the HP and defense EVs allowing it to take physical hits better, and the calm nature taking advantage of Quiver Dance SpDef boosts. Mention the speed tiers for each of the sets I listed. Theyre important benchmarks and should be emphasized. As I stated earlier, Volc can choose what it beats (outside of heatran, unless its flame body). The 16 SPAtk EVs always OHKOes rillaboom from full with flamethrower without a boost.

• Bulky Volcarona fits greatly on balance that would appreciate a strong sweeper and a blanket check to Grass-types like Kartana and Rillaboom. Its an okay grass check, but it should not be the only one. Knock off really hurts Volc.
• Bulky Volcarona especially is more likely to get it's Heavy-Duty Boots knocked off via Rillaboom and Kartana so it appreciates defoggers like Corviknight and Mandibuzz. They can also check Pokemon like Hawlucha and Dragonite, which Volcarona would be OHKOed by. If youre gonna mention these as teammates then remove the above bullet. Mandi and Corv are better grass checks anyways and take knock off better (tho mandi hates its boots being knocked off too)
• Volcarona also appreciates Slowbro as a partner because it can beat Volcarona's checks. For example, Slowbro is a pretty solid check to Rain staples like Barraskewda and Urshifu-Rapid-Strike, which Volcarona would get dismantled by. Mention physical attackers in general. Bulky sets are still beaten by things like Scarf Lando or SD Chomp, who both OHKO with stone edge.

Also mention teammates that specifically beat Heatran, TTar, Dragonite, and Blissey. Lando T (which can get Volc in via U-Turn, Urshifu, Garchomp, things like that. Heatran specifically needs to be removed or volcarona aint gonna do anything (unless its the dumb flame body heatran (dont use that)). Clef, lele/fini, and other things that beat Dragonite should be mentioned as teammates because Dragonite is also a big problem if it has Dual Wingbeat. Fini is also a good partner because of misty terrain, which allows Volc to not have to use safeguard

VoltTurn teammates are also really good for Volc too. Lets it come in safely.

Also, I mentioned this in my post above. One of the best aspects of Bulkarona is its ability to use fat Waters as set up fodder. Slowbro, Swampert, Slowking (both normal and Glowking, yes ik Glowking is not a water type), and Fini do very little damage with Scald after a boost, and they need multiple crits to win the 1v1. Add a bullet specifically mentioning this.

• Volcarona can also use a Subsitute + Swarm set that would allow Volcarona access to much easier setup. The aim of this set is to take advantage of things Volcarona can force out to set up a Subsitute, which then guarantees you free chip or a Quiver Dance. yeah this is a straight up gimmick and needs to be removed. Here is where I would mention specific speed tiers on EV spreads for Bulky sets that are not as good as the three I listed. Specifically, outspeeding base 85s (Nidoking and RIllaboom), 91 (scarf Lando T), 95 (lele).

Checks and Counters
====

**Rock-types** Rock-types such as Terrakion, Tyranitar, and Lycanroc-Dusk can switch in, take one hit at the very least, and remove Volcarona with their super effective Rock-type STAB attacks. Lycanroc is barely viable so it doesn't need to be mentioned

**Knock Off**: Volcarona is extremely vulnerable to Knock Off because it needs its item in Heavy-Duty Boots due to it having a 4x weakness to Stealth Rock.

**Heatran**: Heatran can switch in to Volcarona without breaking a sweat. Heatran can easily force out Volcarona because it strongly dislikes getting poisoned, it also takes a lot of damage from Heatran's powerful Fire-type STAB attack.

**Bulky Water-types**: Bulky Water-types like Swampert and Tapu Fini can force out Volcarona with their super effective Water-type STAB moves. Tapu Fini can also remove Volcarona's Heavy-Duty Boots via Knock Off and Volcarona fears Toxic from Swampert because it strongly dislikes being put on a timer. Honestly, if youre gonna have this, you need to specify that they are only somewhat threatening to offensive sets that don't have Giga Drain. I mentioned this above, Bulkarona sets up on fat waters and wins the 1v1. I'd probably change this to offensive water

**Blissey**: Blissey cannot threaten Volcarona offensively, but it can easily stall out Volcarona with Toxic and Seismic Toss spam. Volcarona cannot really make progress on Blissey, so it should not start attempting a sweep until it is removed. Safeguard can 1v1 blissey, so just say non safeguard variants

Add in a section for physical attackers. Specifically, Garchomp, Scarf Lando, Darts Pult, Urshifu, stuff like that. All of the mentioned can win the 1v1 if Volc only has one boost. Specifically Urshifu can revenge offensive sets with CB Aqua Jet. Bulky sets need some chip (40%) to guarantee a kill.

• Quiver Dance raises Volcarona's Special Attack, Special Defense, and Speed stat allowing it to prepare for a sweep. The snowball effect is especially problematic for Special Attackers, as they will not be able to break through the Special Defense boosts without critical hits. It's not really a snowball effect especially as this set lacks recovery to really get more than a couple boosts, though I do really like the mention of how the special defense boosts can help it quite a bit. I'd maybe reword it to something like "Special attacking Pokemon that could otherwise threaten its setup become increasingly incapable of breaking past it as it boosts, letting it boost several times if necessary".
• Bug Buzz and Flamethrower are Volcarona's main STAB moves. Bug Buzz can threaten Hydreigon and the Slowtwins. Flamethrower can destroy most Steel-types in Ferrothorn, Corviknight, and Excadrill. We know what its STABs do. You should be more focusing more on the choice between Flamethrower and Fire Blast.
• Heavy-Duty Boots negates chip from hazards, namely Stealth Rock. How does this help it? Also, move this beneath the Giga Drain bullet point so your breakdown remains chronological.
• Fire Blast can be ran over Flamethrower for additional damage, however, Fire Blast has less accuracy and PP. Is this damage difference crucial in any way? FIery Dance is an option for the Special Attack raise chance, but Fire Blast and Flamethrower offer more immediate damage.
• Psychic on Volcarona can deal hefty damage to Toxapex and outright remove Nidoking and Urshifu-Rapid-Strike with prior chip. Nidoking folds to Fire-type STAB so it's not really a necessary mention. Toxapex and Urshifu are the primary targets.
• Volcarona can opt in running Giga Drain to punish Water-types like Swampert and Tapu Fini that can take hits from its other options. Gastrodon is a good mention here too. Does the recovery help it in any way? I think it's helpful in saving it from being revenge killed by Weavile Ice Shard and Rillaboom Grassy Glide if it's already chipped down.

• This Volcarona set is commonly seen on offensively oriented teams because it likes being paired with strong Pokemon that can quickly remove Heatran and Blissey allowing Volcarona to sweep as soon as possible
• Volcarona likes being paired with strong wallbreakers preferably Physical Attackers so they can more reliably hit Blissey. Examples are Urshifu-Rapid-Strike, Garchomp, and Landorus-T as they can all remove Heatran and severely damage Blissey. Urshifu-Rapid-Strike and Landorus-T can also get Volcarona in safely via U-turn. Are there any key targets that they can pivot against that Volcarona sets up on? They can also set up Stealth Rock for Volcarona which Heatran is actually pretty susceptible to. The way and position in which you word this makes it seem Urshifu gets Stealth Rock, which is obviously not true. I think also hazards should be saved for a separate bullet point.
• Choice Band Scizor carrying Superpower can catch Heatran coming in and OHKO it with Superpower. Scizor can also get Volcarona in safely via U-turn. Choice Band Scizor is really awkward and is something I really do not recommend using, especially with Volcarona.
• Rillaboom can easily lure and Knock Off Heatran denying it recovery. Rillaboom can also run Fighting-type coverage which would let it deal massive damage to Heatran. Mentioning that it can U-turn against Corviknight/Skarm/Scizor is pretty great too

I actually am a big fan of Knock Off users in tandem with Volcarona and I think you can expand upon the Rillaboom point with it. Examples of solid partners include things like Kartana, partner Ferrothorn, and Clefable, which can all lure and dispatch Heatran of recovery, and the latter two can set hazards to further pressure Heatran. Tapu Lele is also a great partner that can help to overload Heatran while also boosting its Psychic, blocking priority, and applying debilitating pressure to Toxapex and Tyranitar.

• Volcarona opting for Psychic allows it to hit Dragapult and Garchomp neutrally. It can also 1v1 non-Toxic Toxapex.

• 60 Speed EVs allows Volcarona to outspeed Tornadus-T after one Quiver Dance. It also outspeeds Defensive Landorus-T aswell as Adamant Bisharp without a Quiver Dance. The 16 Special Attack EVs always OHKOes Rillaboom without prior chip. Amend this to the changed set

• Bulky Volcarona especially is more likely to get it's Heavy-Duty Boots knocked off via Rillaboom and Kartana so it appreciates defoggers like Corviknight and Mandibuzz. They can also check Pokemon like Hawlucha and Dragonite, which Volcarona would be OHKOed by. Mandibuzz isn't very sound as a mention here since it also folds to Knock Off. That being said, I don't really know how I feel about this bullet point in general since Volcarona isn't really going to come in as often given its performing more as a win condition. Though, if you want to keep this point, I would move it down as it isn't nearly as key as say pivoting support or Pokemon that can help it overload potential checks. I would also rephrase this a bit to emphasize how Defog support can let it serve some defensive utility on teams, including taking Knock Off more liberally.
• Volcarona also appreciates Slowbro as a partner because it can beat Volcarona's checks. For example, Slowbro is a pretty solid check to Rain staples like Barraskewda and Urshifu-Rapid-Strike, which Volcarona would get dismantled by. Slowbro also checks Physical Attackers in general like Landorus-T and Garchomp, which Volcarona is OHKOed by. In general, you can just mention the Slowtwins here. I don't think it needs to be Slowbro specifically; that being said though, you also miss out on a key point, that being that these two can pivot against what can be considered setup fodder.
• Tapu Fini is a great partner as it can take Dragonite's hits decently and hit it super effectively with its Fairy-type STAB move, which Volcarona can't do alone. Tapu Fini also sets up Misty Terrain which means Volcarona can't get statused for the time being. This also means a moveslot can be saved because Safeguard won't be very useful. Tapu Fini can also switch in to the aforementioned Urshifu-Rapid-Strike.

I personally think you can probably bring up Knock Off/hazard support here as it's considerably more key for Bulkarona to be able to chip potential checks that get in its way. It also really likes pivoting support to give it more reliable setup opportunities since it's much more centric on maintaining HP than its offensive counterpart. You can bring up pretty similar teammates here since both Volcarona sets are based around setup sweeping, just doing so in different ways.

We've already amended this set, so this point isn't needed. In other words, we don't need an Other Options section here.

**Knock Off**: Volcarona is extremely vulnerable to Knock Off because it needs its item in Heavy-Duty Boots due to it having a 4x weakness to Stealth Rock. Why does losing Heavy-Duty Boots hurt it though? Again, look at the execution. Does losing Heavy-Duty Boots cripple its gameplan?

**Heatran**: Heatran can switch in to Volcarona without breaking a sweat. Heatran can easily force out Volcarona because it strongly dislikes getting poisoned, it also takes a lot of damage from Heatran's powerful Fire-type STAB attack. This is a really awkwardly phrased sentence. You can easily just say Heatran is quad resistant to Bug Buzz, resists both of its main coverage options, and is immune to its Fire-type STAB, and that Heatran is capable of shutting it down with Taunt.

**Water-types**: Urshifu-Rapid-Strike and Crawdaunt can easily force out Volcarona or destroy it with their strong Water-type STAB moves. However, neither want to switch in as Volcarona can nail both of them in the face with its respective coverage options. Volcarona is forced out due to Aqua Jet on both.

**Blissey**: Blissey can comfortably beat non-Safeguard Volcarona variants but Safeguard variants are set up fodder for Volcarona as Blissey is very reliant on Toxic stalling. If non-Safeguard, Volcarona can't make progress on Blissey without quite a few boosts, so it should not attempt a sweep without prior removal of Blissey. I think rewording this to Special walls would be good to do, as this would also help to add Haze Toxapex and Tyranitar into the mix which are both incredibly obnoxious for Volcarona to put up with.

Volcarona's decent Speed tier allows it to outpace common Pokemon such as Hydreigon, Kyurem, and Tapu Lele before a Speed boost while outspeeding every unboosted Pokemon in OU after a single Quiver Dance boost. This gives Volcarona more setup opportunities and an easier job cleaning. However, Volcarona is left vulnerable to many physical attackers, including Garchomp, Choice Scarf Landorus-T, and Urshifu-R, which can either take a hit and OHKO it back or revenge kill it with strong priority. 248 HP EVs and 16 Defense EVs let Volcarona survive an Aqua Jet from Choice Band Crawdaunt.

This doesn't match the presented spread. And 16 Def EVs aren't enough to survive banded aqua-jet from Daunt anyway.
