[OVERVIEW]

While Voodoom has access to Nasty Plot and sits in a respectable Speed tier, it faces many problems in the metagame. Voodoom needs a boost to hit anything appreciable, still doesn't hit especially hard after a boost, and doesn't have the bulk to set up multiple boosts, so it's hard to really get much damage off with it. Voodoom's STAB attacks also cannot break past setup deterrents like Arghonaut, Tomohawk, and Toxapex, meaning that sometimes it cannot even set up safely. Additionally, its abilities aren't particularly useful, as most Electric-types have some way to break through its average bulk. Thus, Voodoom is pretty much outclassed by every basically any relevant special attacker in the metagame. Not only do they have a better Special Attack stat, but they also provide their teams with better utility. For example, Tapu Lele provides Terrain control and has better STAB attacks, Ash-Greninja has access to Spikes and exerts more pressure with Battle Bond, Hoopa-U simply breaks defensive cores more easily, and Mega Alakazam has much more speed and access to Recover. Quiver Dance Aurumoth, Quiver Dance Volcarona, and Shift Gear Magearna are better special sweepers than Voodoom, as they can break open at least some of the aforementioned setup deterrents. Thus, Voodoom has no niche in the metagame.

Moves

After a Nasty Plot boost, Flash Cannon OHKOes Jumbao and Clefable. Thunderbolt and Psychic are alternative options that can break open Arghonaut, Toxapex, and Tomohawk, but then Voodoom is walled by Fairy-types.

Set Details
========

Life Orb is used to boost Voodoom's paltry offense to an acceptable level. While it could run a Z-Crystal, it's not worth using it on Voodoom over a teammate that can make better use of it.

Usage Tips
========

The best Voodoom can do is try to switch in early- to mid-game and try to wear down the opposing team. Switching into Choice Specs Tapu Koko's Volt Switch, Caribolt's Return, or Krilowatt's Thunderbolt allows Voodoom to get into play for free. If Voodoom can't safely set up a Nasty Plot and fire off an attack, it's better off double switching out, as using Nasty Plot will waste a turn. If the opponent's switch-in is bulky Jumbao or Clefable, set up to +2 and use Flash Cannon to lure and remove them.

Team Options
========

Dual screens Tapu Koko lets Voodoom set up more easily. Other setup sweepers like Aurumoth, Naviathan, Caribolt, and Hawlucha fit alongside Voodoom on this archetype. Stealth Rock setters like Focus Sash Landorus-T and Flyinium Z Tomohawk can help Voodoom break through opposing Pokemon more easily. Spikes setters such as Ash-Greninja, Ferrothorn, and Arghonaut can also help Voodoom achieve KOs. Voodoom can also make use of Sticky Web support from Ribombee, as many revenge killers like Choice Scarf Volkraken, Tapu Koko, and Ash-Greninja fail to outspeed it after the Speed drop. However, Voodoom allows Tornadus-T to switch in and use Defog freely, as even Thunderbolt doesn't OHKO Tornadus-T.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Because the listed set is barely viable as is, Voodoom has no other options.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Faster Pokemon**: Pokemon that can outspeed Voodoom are the easiest way to get rid of it. Tornadus-T, Choice Band Syclant, Greninja, Mega Crucibelle, Mega Alakazam, Choice Scarf Jumbao, and Choice Scarf Volkraken are some examples of Pokemon that can OHKO it or neuter Voodom's attempt at accomplishing anything.

**Setup Deterrents**: Unaware Arghonaut and Haze Tomohawk and Toxapex discourage Voodoom from setting up at all, and they wall it even if it tries to set up, meaning Voodoom is a complete liability until these Pokemon are removed.

**Fairy-types**: Although Voodoom has access to Flash Cannon, most Fairy-types like Clefable, Tapu Lele, Jumbao, and Tapu Bulu can tank an unboosted Flash Cannon and OHKO it back.

**Bulky Pokemon**: Other bulkier Pokemon like Celesteela, Magearna, and Revenankh can tank Voodoom's moves and KO it.

- Thus, Voodoom is pretty much outclassed by every other Dark-type. Weavile has Pursuit utility and doesn't need setup to hit hard, Ash Greninja has access to Spikes and exerts more pressure with Battle Bond, and Flame Orb Colossoil and Hoopa-U are better wallbreakers. Additionally, setup sweepers like Swords Dance Caribolt, Dragon Dance Zygarde, and Shift Gear Magearna are better sweepers than Voodoom.
- I don't think its particularly competition with dark types, more so its just straight up worse than any other relevant special attack, particularly set up sweepers which are currently relevant as it lacks any niche over Pokemon such as Tapu-Lele, Tapu-Koko, Magearna, Ash Gren etc.
- STAB combination being unable to break common set-up detterants in Arghonaut, Tomohawk and Toxapex makes it extremely unrewarding even if you do get a chance to get a boost.

- After a Nasty Plot boost , Flash Cannon OHKOs Jumbao and Clefable.
- I really dont think theres much else to put here, maybe mention Psychic and Tbolt as options to deal with pokemon which negate its set-up in Tomohawk, Arghonaut and Toxaepx.

- Stealth Rock setters like Focus Sash Landorus-T, Flyinium Z Tomohawk, and Smokomodo can help Voodoom break through opposing Pokemon more easily.
- Spikes setters such as Ash Greninja, Ferrothorn and Arghonaut make it alot easier for Voodoom to obtain KO's despite its mediocre Special Attack.
- Voodoom can also make use of Sticky Web support as it allows its midling speed to actually outspeed a lot of threats which would look to revenge kill it after a boost, such as Scarf Volkraken, Tapu Koko, Ash Greninja.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

- Psychic and Thunderbolt are options to break through Tomohawk, Arghonaut, and Toxapex, but hitting Fairy-types is usually more important.(Moved this to moves to flesh it out lol)
- Use a different pokemon
- Mention Choice scarf as a really bad nect check i guess.

**set-up detterants**: Pokemon which prevent Voodom from clicking Nasty Plot or ignore it after it has are definitley one of the biggest reasons this mon is outclassed.

- A Choice Scarf set can be used to check Shell Smash Necturna, as it can OHKO with Dark Pulse and maintain momentum with Memento, but Kitsunoh largely outclasses Voodoom at this.
Killing Voodoom with Memento is more impactful than any set that Voodoom could otherwise use, as it allows you to switch to a better Pokemon.

[insert cute Sakamoto badge that it won't let upload without attachments for some reason ;-;]
QC 2/3

[Overview]

At the end of the Overview, say something like "This is why Voodoom has no real niche in the metagame".

[Usage Tips]

If the opponent's switch-in is non-Choice Scarf Jumbao or Clefable, set up to +2 and use Flash Cannon to lure and remove them.
Change "non-Choice Scarf" to "bulky", because this kind of implies that Choice Scarf Clefable exists.

[Team Options]

Screens setters like Tapu Koko and Ninetales-A let Voodoom setup more easily.
As a more general note, for Alolan formes you use "Alolan" infront of the Pokemon's name, not [Pokemon]-A.

Stealth Rock setters like Focus Sash Landorus-T, Flyinium Z Tomohawk, and Smokomodo can help Voodoom break through opposing Pokemon more easily.
Remove Smokomodo, using it as a suicide lead over Landorus-T or Tomohawk is a very big waste, and the only reason people have been using it on HO teams is because of the hype of its release.

Voodoom can also make use of Sticky Web support from Ribombee, Snaelstrom, or Necturna, as many revenge killers like Choice Scarf Volkraken, Tapu Koko, and Ash Greninja fail to outspeed.
Remove Snaelstrom; it's a terrible Sticky Web setter on HO teams.

[Other Options]

A Choice Scarf set can be used to check Shell Smash Necturna, as it can OHKO with Dark Pulse and maintain momentum with Memento, but Kitsunoh largely outclasses Voodoom at this.
This should be removed, because Voodoom is unviable even with the main set listed.

Instead, I suggest you say something like "Voodoom has no viable Other Options available, because even the set that's listed above is mediocre at best."
