Once upon a time in a land called Shoddy, there lived an Oddish, shiny green in hue, who spent its days frolicking contentedly at the lakeside with its friends: a nimble Butterfree; a colossal Steelix; a serene Tentacruel; a portly Hariyama; a fragrant Meganium; and an aloof Glaceon.

Life was good, and the group lived in carefree harmony until they found themselves, and their home threatened by the evil giant, davej, and his pack of hardened and vicious pokemon battlers: a cruel Ambipom, a fiery Infernape; a heartless Blissey; a sneaky Ninjask; a bullying Tyranitar; and a rather ugly Lickilicky.

To save its home the Shiny Oddish knew it must convince it’s friends to fight with all their might … the following tale recounts that, not so epic battle, and how good can triumph over evil no matter how dire the situation may seem…

That’s more than enough of the fairy tale motif … to the battle.

Shiny Oddish switched in Steelix.
Ambipom used Fake Out.

davej switched in Infernape.
Steelix used Stealth Rock.

Expecting a special based fire attack I wasn’t going to keep Steelix in, but at least it got Stealth Rock, which as it goes, proved to be rather pivotal to this match.

Shiny Oddish switched in Tentacruel.
Infernape used Close Combat.
Tentacruel lost 57% of its health.

Note to self either find a better Infernape switch in, or stop challenging standard teams with UU pokemon. I should probably have switched him out but for some reason I didn’t.

The following warstory was given an Ae rating (it was approved Aeolus), for its scenes of haxy pokemon related violence and brief nudity.
 
wow i actually liked it at first i thought it was going to be a sweep which then i would have hated it but that didnt happen which made it good. it was well written with scores added in and bolded correctly which most of the warstorys recently did not do rite. good job
 
Heh, clever write up for an embarrassing defeat. I knew when that one key stone edge missed my hax were over.

Team was pretty awful anyway, 3 normal types and only one decent way to take care of steels.

Yes which is why it was sent to and approved by Aeolus (who you can thank for the pictures and score) ... I will edit my original post to indicate this though.

@ DaveJ not so much an embarrasing defeat as a very lucky win on my part, you deserve full credit for accepting it with such good humour ... the majority of players I seem to end up facing at Shoddy would not have.
 
Aw, man, I was hoping your team would crushed in a bloody fashion. >_>I dunno why, but I wanted you to die. Maybe because I like evil. It's not bad. Too happy, however. =D

It really did look like you were going down before that amazing turn-around.

I guess I'm lucky, because most of the players I happen to defeat are also good sports about it.
 
an odd ninjask non-lead from your opponent... that seems very strange and not very good of an idea due to the massive SR damage. anyways good read, way to include only the important type.
 
I thought you were going to do a shrek txisted fairy tale thoughout, but oh well. The warstory was a nice and short read, probably one of the better ones.
 
wow I loled at the massive SR rape... Hariyama could have taken that whole team if he hadn't died so early, but still this just goes to show how important SR can be to the outcome of a match
 
Can you put the "approved by" tag at the end next time? It kind of gives away the fact that you're somehow going to win.

I seriously can't believe how much that match was affected by SR+Spikes. It makes me want to add a sponner somewhere.

Your opponent made some tactical errors. First, who in their right mind would Stone Edge a Steelix, which boasts a 4x resistance? Also, if he had just let Ambipom die, he could have then switched in Blissey (who outspeeds Steelix) without dying and Softboiled; max Attack Adamant Steelix (which I doubt anyone runs without Choice Band) only does 42.01% at most with Earthquake, and after a while Blissey could probably afford to take a critical hit. Blissey, after a while, could Seismic Toss you to death. But nonetheless, the warstory was a good read, and it was a fun comeback to see.
