WARSTORY: me versus Areyoucool

I was looking in the wi-fi thread for a battle and areyoucool (battle record 103-15) challenged me.
The battles before I had either won 4-0 or lost 4-0. This battle was very different.
The numbers at the end are the damage taken in the turn and the amount of health left.
This are our teams in order of line up/ appearence

Me team:

So the battle begins. I sent out my trustworthy solrock wilhst he sends out gyarados (bling).

solrock
gyarados

I have never seen a gyarados lead before so I do what I always do.

gyarados used dragon dance.
solrock used trickroom

Gyarados (0/100)
Solrock (0/100)

Dragondance is working like curse without the defenceboost now, but he didn't attacked me so I have time to Set up some rocks.

solrock used stealth rock
Gyara used waterfall 99% damage and focussash activates.

Gyarados (0/100)
Solrock (99/1)

Good, solrock has done it's job. And I know that he knows that I am going to boom. I bet he switches into A ghost or something, but the main point is to get solrock out.

Solrock used explosion 99% damage focussash activates and solrock faints
gyara used waterfall on the air.

Gyarados (99/1)
Solrock (1/0) and down the drain.

6-5 he

So trickroom is activated and I have put on some rocks. Time to go to my slow sweeper relicanth.

I sent out relicanth

reliccanth used waterfall 1% damage gyarados fainted.

Gyarados (1/0) and beaten by an extinct fish
Relicanth(0/100) and isn't thinking of going to be extinct again.

5-5 tie

Areyoucool sends out brelom

Oh crap. Brelom have the nasty habit of 6-0ing through my entire team.
Luckely I am faster and he doesn't have a sub up yet.

Relicanth used double-edge 75% damage
brelom used spore relicanth was send to dreamland.

Relicanth (0/90)
Brelom (75/20)

Makes me wonder why he didn't used seed-bomb. Well maybe he didn't have it. Or thought that I would switch. Wich I am going to do now.

I send out scizor

brelom used focuspunch 95%

berlom got poisened
Trickroom ended

Scizor (95/5)
Brelom (0/30)

I was surprised that a focuspunch would do that much damage.
But I think that he is in the killrange of a quickattack.

scizor used quickattack 29% damage
brelom used seedbomb 5% damage

Scizor (5/0)
Brelom (29/11)

5-4 he

Oh crap. I KNEW I should have put silkscarf instead of fist-plate.
This is the third time that quickattack leaves 1%. Next time I am going to change it.
But brelom is faster than my entire team now, unless spiritomb can suckerpunch it.

I send out spiritomb

Spiritomb used suckerpunch 11% brelom fainted

Spiritomb (0/100)
Brelom (11/0) and knows now that suckerpunch does not live up to his name.

4-4 tie

Areyoucool sends out garchomp

Either that chomp is choiced or orbed. In the last case it will use swordsdance.
But Wisp should cancel out the effects of that.

Garchomp used swordsdance
Spiritomb used Will-o-Wisp garchomp was burned.

Garchomp (0/90) brn
Spiritomb (0/100)

Lets see if he attacks now. If he does I am going to painsplit the damage away.

Garchomp used swordsdance
Spiritomb used pain-split nothing happens

Garchomp (0/80) brn
Spiritomb (0/100)

Crap, he has now danced twice. I am not taking the risk that he dances again.
I am going to use pursuit.

Garchomp used Earthquake 95% damage
Spiritomb used pursuit 10% damage

Garchomp (0/50) brn
Spiritomb (95/10)

Dang. He did attack. Well he isn't going to sweep through my entire team with burn and life-orb eating him up. But I have to get spiritomb out as I have the feeling he is going to be important. Seeing that he used an EQ I am switching to my bird.

I send out togekiss

Garchomp used dragonclaw 50% damage

Garchomp (0/30)
Togekiss (50/55)

That went not to well. But I am surprised to see that kiss can survive two dragonclaws from a single danced Garchomp.
(burn cancels out 1 dance, and than he has the second to make the total 1 dance).

Garchomp used dragonclaw 54%
Togekiss used airslash 20% damage and garchomp falls.

Garchomp (20/0) and beaten by a kite.
Togekiss (54/6) and feeling sick.

4-3 me

Areyoucool sends out donphan

OK, I have taken out 2 major physical threads so I am feeling fine. Togekiss is not going to survive an ice-shard. But I know something who will. And besides togekiss may be a good offer later.

I send out relicanth

Donphan used iceshard 5% damage.

Donphan (0/100)
Relicanth (5/75) slp

That did next to nothing to relicanth. I think that he is going to take his time and spin my rocks away and than quake me.

Donphan used rapidspin (removing rocks) 0%
Relicanth is having a nice dream.

Donphan (0/100)
Relicnath (0/75)

OK, next turn relicanth has to wake up or he is getting it by donphans second EQ.

Donphan used stealthrocks
Relicanth is still having a nice dream

Donphan (0/100)
Relicanth (0/75)

OK, now I can't switch in my togekiss anymore without killing her on sight.
But this has given relicanth some extra time to wake up.

Relicanth is still having a nice dream (a bit too nice for my feeling, he won't snap out of it)
Donphan used EQ 70% damage.

Donphan (0/100)
Relicanth (70/5)

Relicanth is still sleeping, but apparently has the same speed as donphan. Lets hope that my opponent makes the mistake of not risking relicanth to go first and uses iceshard. Relicanth can survive that much.

Donphan used iceshard 3% damage
Relicanth found that donphan was disturbing his dream and took revenge with a waterfall 52% damage
Too bad that life orb takes him out.

Donphan (52/53)
Relicanth (3/0) and having another looooong sleep.

3-3 tie

Donphan is weakened, that's good. I send in my icebeamer to finish the job.

I send out gastrodon

Donphan used EQ 40% damage.
Gastrodon used Icebeam 53% damage and donphan faints

Donphan (53/0) and beaten by a slug.
Gastrodon (40/60) and ready for more.

3-2 me

Are you cool sends out alakazam

I am SURE that that zam carries energyball. And I KNOW that suckerpunch from tomb will finish him of. The problem is that I can't switch him into an attack. And I had forgotten about togekiss so I leave gastrodon in.

Alakazam used energyball 60% damage and gastrodon had salt laid on him.

Alakazam (0/90)
Gastrodon (60/0)

2-2 tie

Now I can switch in spiritomb, and on the pokemon screen I see the stupid mistake I just made. Let's just hope that he has forgotten about suckerpunch or predicts that I use pursuit.

I send out spiritomb (rocks leave him with 4 hp)

Spiritomb used suckerpunch 90% damage alakazam fainted.

Spiritomb (0/5)
Alakazam (90/0)

2-1 me

Areyoucool send out jolteon

OK, there are a few scenarios possible.
1 Jolteon doesn't have sub or doesn't use it. Giving my tomb a chance to punch.
And IF it crits, I have still won the game.
2 Jolteon subs and finishes me after the sub
3 Jolteon DOES attack and punch DOES crit, only to find out that he has a focussash.

Spiritomb used suckerpunch (*sees animation* YES!!!) (*sees the bar stopping at 25% left* NOOOOO!) 75% damage
Jolteon used hiddenpower (I think ice as it's not NVE) 5% damage

Jolteon (75/30)
Spiritomb (5/0)

1-1 tie

Well this is it for me, if I had sacreficed togekiss to alakzam, gastrodon could have easily taken jolteon with mirrorcoat. Now togekiss is going to die of rocks.

I send out togekiss who dies on sight.

Jolteon (0/35)
Togekiss (0/0)

1-0 for areyoucool.

It was a very close match indeed. Time for props and slops.

Props:
Spritomb for taking out brelom, alakazam, burning garchomp and surving a swordsdanced EQ from garchomp.
Relicanth for taking brelom out of sub range.
Scizor for bringing brelom into suckerpunch range.
Areyoucool for giving a wonderfull battle.
Togekiss for surviving 2 swordsdanced dragonclaws and finishing garchomp because of that.

Slops:
Forgetting about togekiss and thus loosing the game.
Scizor for not finishing brelom
Relicanth for sleeping so long.

Have edited in the spaces and bold writing.

Unique formating type, nice to read. Although copy it into word and spell check, as the commentary needs some editing, just punctuation and slight errors.

Props to you though for doing something different, bad luck at the end.

I stopped reading right away I have no doubt it's a good warstory but the formating is horrible can't you stick to the standard eyes-friendly version? Sorry to have to say this

I have added the pics and spaces. And I bolded the action. I coudn't do that on the moment of posting because I suddenly had to go. Sorry for that.

Good warstory though. BTW, Gyarados usually has taunt so having Solrock trick room in front of it was kind of risky.

Uhh...if it was NVE, then it was grass since ice is neutral to Spiritomb while Spiritomb resists grass thanks to it's ghost typing. So even if you remembered about Togekiss, you still would've lost.

Good warstory though. BTW, Gyarados usually has taunt so having Solrock trick room in front of it was kind of risky.

It was NOT NVE, so it was NOT HP grass. So my conclusion was it had to be HP ice. Because jolteon has either ice or grass Jolteon's electric attacks won't work on gastrodon so it had to use HP. I guess it was ice for above reasons so gastrodon would have easily survived that, and could mirrorcoat it back.

Forgot that gyaras have taunt. Thanx for remembering.

Grass isn't weak against Ghost. Gengar must be the only Ghost Quiet Lurker has used.
EDIT: or Drifblim.

No, burn halves the attack stat, meaning after two dances it would be the same as if Garchomp had +1 attack, not +2 that Swords Dance gives.

Well, then I would have had a 50/50% chance of beating him IF I remembered togekiss. But unless areyoucool posts what hp type it was, we'll never know.

And if brn + 2dances= +1 attack, it would make way more sense. Thanx for poining those things out.
