Warstory Rating Guide

A guide so rating becomes idiot-proof. No more dumb ratings like OMGZ NO PICTUREZ or HEY DIS WARSTORY DUSN'T FOLLOW A FORMAT I EVER SAWD BEFORE DERFORE SUXS or NO DAMAGE CALCULASHUNZ? SAY WHAA????

I post this because I want to kill myself whenever I enter the Uncharted Territory subforum. This should never happen in a forum period. It's THAT depressing.

A suggestion would be maybe a formal rating system to cut idiotic reasonings at their throats. For instance, one that may follow the rating system would be taken more seriously than someone that doesn't, therefore people know who to actually listen to.

In my ideal world, they would all be infractabanned instantly, but I am known to be a very rash and intolerant person in general, so that would probably not be a good idea (plus its really hard to infract that many posts).

The people that rate warstories are retards anyway. Just ignore them. Anyone who wants to take the time to criticize another's work as seriously as the people you refer to in the op is not worth a second thought lol. There are more pressing matters on the site tbh
 
Actually, I have been really annoyed by many of the warstories recently. Excessive hyperbole utterly ruins any otherwise good features of a post.

if you read a good warstory, great, maybe post a comment of encouragement

if you realise you're reading a bad warstory, click the back button and move on, no need to get into a huff about it

life is too fucking short to get into ridiculous warstory arguments

implementing a ratings system for warstories is silly, having people follow such a system is even worse

warstories are just meant for entertainment anyway, no need to dissect them and put them on a pedestal

personally i can't stand UT so i stay as far away from it possible, if it depresses you that much maybe you should too

I love reading Warstories and I do understand where you are coming from. I myself just formatted a warstory recently but don't feel like posting it b/c some of those comments can be quite nasty. On topic though I disagree with a "Rating System", if I see a good warstory ill say a few positive things and move on. If something really is horrible ill just ignore it. Its not that difficult to do. Implementing a Rating System does not mean that people will actually follow it either.

EDIT: Also some warstories are just bad, there are rules to publishing a warstory and if its a bad warstory then it will recieve bad comments. I know that some comments you can argue are a bit harsh but seriously, there is not much that can be done to fix that
 
I would just like to clarify that the main reason why I post in UT at all is damage control. I would like to save any member that has been scared away from contributing at all by idiots, but admittedly, that is impossible. That is why I try to find any positive aspect in a Warstory, no matter how horrible it is. I want to help people. It's my nature. And if that means I have to get in some verbal slapfights that don't go anywhere to do it, so be it. Also, I wasn't really being serious about the formal rating system. I just meant that there should be a few guidelines on what not to say in a warstory rate. Like a sticky that basically says don't be a cuntface.

Though, as a user who at one point did spend a lot of time hanging out in Stark Mountain, I can't say it's a good thing that the "main pokemon discussion forums" are places the senior users avoid, and are generally thought of as lacking intelligence . . .
 
I don't understand what this post is asking for. Why not just use this? That pretty much covers everything a warstory author and hence a reader should expect in a good warstory. It seems pretty "idiot proof" to me. On that note, you're never going to change idiotic posters. If people post like retards, giving them some rating system does not guarantee an improvement in quality of posts. Heck, what if they don't even read this proposed guide?

If they don't read it. Infract those motherfuckas. I just read a warstory and comments and it was terrible. In the end I think there needs to be more infractions in that forum for blatant insults of other users .The trolling needs to be kept elsewhere. Once they get icbb then they will be more scared to post and post better stuff. If it was up to me i would inact a "mod at will " clause to that forum.
 
Since when do people rate warstories?
Anybody who rates a warstory is an idiot.
