Round 7 Begin!

auramaster swiftly sends out Aura the Riolu, who wastes even less time jumping into the air while saying hi to Cagnazzo. He drops into a kick (which for some reason is performed with his knee O.o)- but when he drops to the ground, nothing is there! Looks like Cagnazzo called up that jet that came in last round again, allowing him to easily move out of the way of Hi Jump Kick. In an interview after this battle, he claimed that he "wasn't trying to dodge the attack, [he] just wanted to drink some aqua." That's what the lake is for, Featherdance brain! Anyway, the plane takes off again. Good riddance.

Now nursing an injured ankle, Aura runs over towards Cagnazzo, looking slightly annoyed but mostly pleasant after last round's events. Aura charges his palm with aura and plants it solidly in Cagnazzo's chest plate, but Cagnazzo has pulled another fast one and gone with an Iron Defense! This time, though, Aura came prepared; before Cagnazzo has time to fully harden its shell, Aura's cheap trick (band reference, woop) is revealed: it loaded that glorified slap with some sort of paralyzing energy! This paralysis, combined with the immense force of the attack, results in Cagnazzo shuddering once and dropping its defenses! It's a FULL PARALYSIS, ALL THE WAY ACROSS THE SKY!!!!!!!! So beautiful...*sob*...

A-anyway, Aura starts busting some moves out on the dance floor. Cagnazzo looks at this display queryingly, wondering if it's some sort of mating dance or something. Then he looks a little closer and notices the swords Aura is juggling while he spins. Cagnazzo looks concerned, but he knows he has to interrupt this strange ritual. In fact, he's so concerned that he calls in an entire waterfall to stop the attack. Angel Falls drops out of the sky, sending Aura flying into the pond! That hit seemed pretty critical to Cagnazzo's strategy; he appears to be Toto-lly (not as good as the previous band reference) ecstatic about this turn of events.

Cagnazzo, he's in the water. Perfect time for you to do our plan just right! First, Aqua Jet into him to knock him farther into the pond! This should keep him in for at least an action or two. Then, Crunch him, preferably on the hand so he can't Force Palm as well and swim down! This should keep him from using much of any move, since he won't be able to punch you since you're eating his hand, and can't jump since he's underwater. This should also keep his oxygen low, so he won't be able to go much longer without drowning. Finally, Spit him out and Body Slam him into the bottom of the pond! What this should do is knock the air he has out of him. But, let me tell you this. If he tries to pull a Counter form on you, switch whatever move you're doing with Iron Defense.

Round 8 Begin!

(Ugh, this is my second time typing this. I was almost finished the first time and I hit something that caused the tab to close. Bear with me, since I'm trying to type this from memory.)

Aura calls upon the power of his aura using the words the elders taught him: "Hey, blue crap inside of me, get the lead out! There's a rampaging turtle over here trying to drown me, and I could really use a boost getting out of this water! So would you mind actually working for once?" Sure enough, the words work, and Aura springs out of the water with a Quick Attack. However, his excitement is short-lived, as Cagnazzo, ever the crafty one, intercepts his takeoff by calling for the aqua jet to make a fly-by of the arena. It swoops low enough to smash into Aura and send him flying downward. Fortunately, he cushions the fall with his aura, sustaining no damage.

Standing on the very edge of the pond, Aura is eager to beat the snot out of Cagnazzo. He leaps high into the air, crashing down in front of Cagnazzo with a Hi Jump Kick. The attack sends the poor turtle reeling, and his shell has also been cracked somewhat by the swords Aura danced with last round. He attempts to get some revenge with a Crunch, but the aura-induced paralysis acts up, causing his jaw muscles to tense before they reach their target. Aura snickers quietly, but not too quietly for the Mafia Boss Turtle to hear.

Aura is still feeling great after escaping the pond, so he goes for another Hi Jump Kick. The jump clears 25 feet easily, and the resulting smackdown is recorded by local seismologists as a 'moderate tremor.' Cagnazzo's immaculately waxed shell is now looking chipped and ragged, but the Mafia don't give in easily. With a malice to match Tony Soprano's, Cagnazzo staggers across the battlefield, spouting the worst cuss words he can think of: "You lousy Weedle-eatin' son of a...promiscuous female turtle! Why don't you take that Hi Jump Kick and shove it up your Ash Ketchum? I don't know why the Darkrai you thought you could tangle with me, but you ain't nothin' but a lazy-trash Cofagrigus!" Aura is incredibly confused at this string of profanities(?), but he remains standing calmly, waiting for the imminent attack. He knows he could very easily dodge this, but that would be illegal under ASB rules. Finally, with such slow speed that you wouldn't think the attack would do anything, Cagnazzo throws himself at Aura with a Body Slam. The attack connects, and the shock of actually having taken damage from such a pathetic attack paralyzes Aura! As Cagnazzo strolls away, he leaves a single parting word: "Beach."

Aura, finish this! Start with Swords Dance to keep your strength up, then end the match with Hi Jump Kick! If he's still moving, end this round with another Force Palm. However, Cagnazzo may try to Protect itself; if it does when you're going to use Hi Jump Kick, then use another Swords Dance instead.

Swords Dance - Hi Jump Kick - Force Palm, replace Hi Jump Kick with Swords Dance if Cagnazzo uses Protect.
 
Party time, Cagnazzo! Let's have a Stall Wars(Because Star Wars isn't good enough). Beyond that reference...

Start off by Jumping into the pond and diving to the bottom! This should stop him from hitting you with any jumping kicks. Next, Iron Defense up at the bottom. Finally, he'll probably swim down to Force Palm you. Throw a Rock at him to stop him from reaching you! However, if you fail to get underwater during the first action from paralysis, Change Iron defense to Aqua Jet to dodge, and get into the water to dive and... yeah, you get the point.

Jump into pond and swim to bottom - Iron Defense - Rock Throw. If unable to move during first action, replace second with Aqua jet to dodge and go underwater. If that fails, I'm calling the hax overlords and reporting you.

((Also, is it just me, or does the damage seem a bit... high? With Solid Rock and Sturdy lowering damage, I wouldn't think it'd be THAT high o.O))
 
Two things: 1) I completely forgot both of Cagnazzo's abilities. I'll fix that. 2) Priority moves apparently can't be used to dodge.
 
Sorry for the double post, but I wanted to be sure you guys saw this. 1) I fixed all the -Solid Rock and -Sturdy errors from both rounds where Cagnazzo took damage. All calcs are now correct. 2) I'm going to have to ask for a reffing extension. I have to go to bed shortly, and I'll have limited computer access tomorrow. If this doesn't get posted tomorrow, expect it Monday.

Round 9 Begin!

Aura begins a second dance with swords, prompting Cagnazzo to metaphorically head for the hills. Aura wraps up his break dance session as Cagnazzo dives into the pond and swims downward.

Aura is confident. So confident, in fact, that he leaps into the air. He stays there, suspended, for a moment before dropping like a lead weight into the pond. a massive splash ensues, but it doesn't take long to see that the Hi Jump Kick has connected with Cagnazzo. Fortunately for the small turtle, the water cut out some of Aura's momentum. Well, that and he anticipated this assault and braced himself with an Iron Defense.

Aura tries to swim further for a Force Palm, but his arthri- I mean, paralysis acts up, rendering the attack null and void. Cagnazzo, who is resting comfortably at the bottom of the pond, slams the floor bed and throws some rocks at Aura. However, the ever-shifting water currents carry the pebbles away from Aura, causing the attack to miss.

Aura is about 2 feet beneath the water's surface and is rapidly floating towards the top. Cagnazzo remains on the bottom.

He's down with you now. Stay in the bottom and Gun him with the waters of the pond! This should keep him away from you, and make him even more annoyed. Then, Throw some rocks at him to keep him at bay Rocks own, man. Rocks own. Then, End it with an Ancientpower, hoping for a boost up. Also, if he somehow makes it down to you against you shoving him away, Waterfall him out of your way, then return to the bottom. This is the stall phase, stay alive buddy!

Water gun - Rock Throw - Ancientpower. If he makes it down anywhere close to Cagnazzo, replace action with Waterfall to knock him away, then return to bottom.
 
Sorry for the delay, it's been a crazy week.

Aura, he's determined to stay in the water, use this to your advantage! Get out of the pond and get several feet away so his rocks can't hit you, then use Earthquake twice to hit him under his shell!

Begin Round 10!

Aura drifts all the way up to the surface before taking off like a(n Aqua) jet for the shoreline. He swims quickly, hindered only a bit by his paralysis. As Aura puts Michael Phelps to shame, Cagnazzo pulls out his revolver. Taking careful aim from the bottom of the pond, he pulls the trigger, sending a bullet through the water. Aura swims faster, but the bullet is still gaining, despite the drag from the water. Finally, the shot connects with Aura's back leg. Aura hastily mutters a few words to the elders before feeling himself thrust forward onto the shoreline. Turns out the Cagnazzo's gun only fires bullets that contain water! The mass eruption of water from inside the bullet actually carried Aura all the way to the shore! Cagnazzo may be coldhearted, but he does play by the rules...some of the time.

Sadly, that was all the excitement that could be derived from this round. Aura launches into a mighty Earthquake, but the water, Cagnazzo's abilities, and Iron Defense cushion the impact to the point of almost no damage. Then Cagnazzo throws some rocks at Aura...but the water slows those down, too, nullifying half the damage from that.

Aura tries another Earthquake, but Cagnazzo's personal Richter scale registers at about a 1/5. Cagnazzo then calls upon the power of the ancients to destroy Aura…but his religious convictions aren’t deep enough for the attack to do much of anything. He didn’t even get a massive stat increase. “Lousy spirits,” he mutters under his breath. But Aura heard that, and, boy, is he mad…

That Cagnazzo is getting annoying...Aura, you've earned a good rest, so Chill out for a bit to get your strength up, then power up with Swords Dance and hit with another Earthquake to slowly wear him down. If you are ever stunned by paralysis, use the move that failed in your next action.

Time to abuse the pond some more! Cagnazzo, Begin by throwing more (Ancient)power onto it! Then, while he's dancing like a loon, Buff up with some Iron defenses. Finally, Ancientpower again! However, if you got a boost from the first Ancientpower, replace the last action with your own Earthquake on him!

Round 11 Begin!

Cagnazzo is really unhappy with the way last round's Ancientpower went, so he decides to try another one. This time, his ancestors smile upon him, raising all his stats! Aura looks really concerned about this but decides to just chill. Cagnazzo revels in his newfound ancestral respect and decides he's going to put some flowers on his ancestors' graves when gets back to Italy. He is a bit worried about that chill, though.

Bracing for whatever hard times may lie ahead, Cagnazzo protects himself with an Iron Defense. While Cagnazzo retreats into his shell, Aura gets up and begins his Swords Dance again. While he dances, he hears some mysterious voices speaking to him. Concentrating harder, he can almost make out something about a flux capacitor, but by the time the voices are loud enough to hear clearly, he's completed his dance.

Now Cagnazzo is ready to rumble. Concentrating on gathering his strength into his flippers, he slams the bottom of the pond, releasing a shock wave that travels through the surrounding ground. The earthquake travels quickly and gives Aura a powerful shock. Despite his shakiness in standing up, he didn't take very much damage from that attack. For revenge, he decides to hit the ground and cause an earthquake of his own. The water and Cagnazzo's hardened shell cushion the impact to the point that the attack does laughable damage. Cagnazzo reamins poised at the bottom of the pond, while Aura is secure on the dry land.

This is no Star Wars. This is Stall Wars. Cagnazzo! Show them your Tsunami powers! But, since you don't have Surf, let's just resume staying down there. Ancientpower again! I'm curious as to how it cost so much energy last time, but still slam him with it. Next, Chill down there. Hang out, relax a bit, etc. Even without healing powahs, you still wall like a champ. Finally, Smash him with an Earthquake!

However, if he decides to rush into water after you, Replace whatever action with Water Gun to keep him away!

Ancientpower - Chill - Earthquake. If he tries to dive at me, replace that action with Water Gun to repel.

Also, shouldn't my Iron defense boost, or even my Ancientpower boost still be there? It wasn't even a round! Same with aura's SD. After talking with some guys in the irc channel, and checking the examples, I think we SHOULD have a boost left, me in defense, him in attack (I don't think 3 defense would vanish in one round, tbh. But, I'm still newby-ish). But, I'm not sure. I'm sorry that I always seem to say there's something wrong (Lol, my bad on that), but me and aura are pretty competitive. It's better to have a fair fight, and make sure there's no problems, and talking to you about them minimizes any issues. Thanks for sub-reffing XD.

I agree, the stall wars is getting old. Aura, start off by showing off your awesome pose! Chill twice while making a cool pose, then Counter his Earthquake to (Hopefully) finish him off!

Cagnazzo is still hoping to capitalize on his good fortune from last round, so he tries another Ancientpower. He doesn't get the desired boosts this time, and he didn't do that much damage to Aura, either. Aura just walks that one off and chills. Cagnazzo swears quietly, vowing to get revenge on his "crummy, good-for-nothing ancestors." Bad karma, dude.

Both Cagnazzo and Aura are feeling low on energy, so this action consists entirely of chilling. Sorry, I really can't write any better flavor text than that.

Thankfully, the third action sees some real...action. Cagnazzo slams the bottom of the pond yet again, producing another earthquake. Aura braces for impact, but he still doesn't enjoy that attack. However, he does have a trick up his sleeve: Counter! Charging some sort of aura in his palm, he blasts a hole clean through the water and nails Cagnazzo in the center of his chestplate. The attack does just enough damage to Cagnazzo to knock him unconscious. As he floats to the surface of the pond, all he can think is: "I will...return...with a vengeance...Don't...fuhgeddaboudit..." Finally, as he breaches the water's surface, Cagnazzo faints!

REALLY sorry for the delay, didn't see the update :( Aura, you did a great job, now do as much damage as possible before you go down with repeated Hi Jump Kicks! However, if Courage gets mean and Torments you, switch to Force Palm!

loudkirbyking deploys his last Pokemon, Courage the Pawniard. Aura quickly responds to this new threat, leaping up for a Hi Jump Kick. Courage closes her eyes, concentrating on the surrounding air. As Aura descends, Courage unleashes a wind of psychic energy: a Psycho Cut! Aura is caught by the attack in mid-air and is then thrown back about 100 feet. It's kind of obvious, but I have to say it here anyway: Aura fainted!

My computer hates me so.

Courage! You are so powerful, so go for the kill! Faint attack out! By that, I mean use Faint Attack to fade into the shadows as you do, but wait for him to try to strike. As soon as he prepares an attack, hit him to stop him dead in his tracks. If he tries to dive, hit him away from the water, you know the deal. Then, Force him away with another Faint Attack! Fade into the shadows, but when you sense him then strike, strike him into the ground. It should up the pain. Finally, Jump onto that fish and Faint Attack right into the face! With the sun pretty much all set by now, these twilight conditions should make your dark and ghost strikes better.

Also, if he tries to pull out a Surf on you, Sucker punch instead of Shadow Claw, or the second Faint attack(Still do into the ground, though)

Round 14 Begin!

auramaster deploys his last Pokemon, Flying Fish the Mantyke, putting the match at 1-1! Finally, this match might end! Courage flees into the shadows, looking a bit concerned at the confusing orders given to her by loudkirbyking. Flying Fish floats patiently, knowing she can't move until her opponent has gone. Courage eventually leaps out of the shadows, knocking Flying Fish away from the pond with a Faint Attack. Flying Fish then does what she's been waiting for her whole life: she gets down! Dancing her heart out, she summons forth a mass of storm clouds that obscure the nearly-ended sunset. As Courage looks on in amusement, it begins pouring rain! Flying Fish's dance suddenly picks up speed; she's become swifter and looks like she's swimming through the air!

As Flying Fish prepares a Surf with her newfound speed, Courage flies through the air, covered in a dark aura. Flying Fish tries to keep track of her opponent's movements, but Courage is teleporting rapidly over the short distance. Finally, Courage reappears above Flying Fish, shortly before connecting with a Sucker Punch! The attack sends Flying Fish straight down, but her Flying typing and ability to swim through the air prevent her from actually hitting the ground. Now that she can concentrate again, Flying Fish actually uses that Surf from earlier, swamping Courage and sending her flying away.

The third action is nearly a repeat of the second. Flying Fish works on a second Surf, while Courage goes for another Sucker Punch. However, Courage gets up in Flying Fish's grill this time, smacking the poor Mantyke in the face. Flying Fish looks like she's about to cry, but she's a big girl now; she takes that hit like a champ and blasts Courage with another Surf.

Rain will be up for 4 more rounds, if this match lasts that long.
