Ice
========

Weavile is a menacing revenge killer on Ice teams because of its high Attack and Speed, outpacing threats like Zeraora, Spectrier, and Choice Scarf Tapu Lele thanks to Choice Scarf. Its Dark typing is great for pressuring Ghost- and Psychic-types like Gengar and Victini as well as providing a Psychic immunity to check Tapu Lele and Latias. Furthermore, it is Ice's main Knock Off user, crippling defensive Pokemon like Celesteela and Klefki. Weavile's biggest weakness is its poor defenses, often leaving it easily worn down by defensive Pokemon like Toxapex and Aegislash and revenge killed by priority users like Urshifu-R and Bisharp after chip. Its poor ability to dent walls often forces it out multiple times throughout the match.

name: Revenge Killer (Ice)

move 2: Icicle Crash
move 3: Foul Play
move 4: Low Kick
item: Choice Scarf
ability: Pressure
nature: Jolly
evs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]
Knock Off is its strongest and most reliable STAB move, allowing it to hit Psychic- and Ghost-types like Slowking and Aegislash while also removing items like Leftovers and Heavy-Duty Boots from Swampert and Volcarona, respectively. Icicle Crash targets Dark-resistant Pokemon like Tapu Koko, Hydreigon, and Galarian Zapdos. Foul Play is really useful for checking physical setup sweepers like Cloyster, Excadrill, Zeraora, and +2 Kyurem. Low Kick targets Pokemon like Melmetal, Cobalion, Bisharp, and Weavile for more damage.

Alolan Ninetales checks Water- and Fighting-types like Urshifu-R, Gastrodon, and Bewear, and in return, Weavile can check specially defensive Pokemon like Dragalge, Galarian Slowking, and Tyranitar. Kyurem can use a special set to check the aforementioned Water and Steel-types like Heatran and Magnezone or a physical set that performs well late-game against types like Poison and Flying once wallbreakers like Glastrier and Galarian Darmanitan made progress. Glastrier breaks through defensive Pokemon like Galarian Weezing and Ferrothorn that Weavile struggles to get rid of. Galarian Darmanitan can revenge kill threats like Choice Scarf Excadrill and Choice Band Galarian Zapdos with Choice Scarf or break through defensive Pokemon like Celesteela and Toxapex more easily with Choice Band. Entry hazard setters like Cloyster, Piloswine, and Mamoswine are encouraged to help Weavile pick up KOs on defensive Pokemon like Slowbro and Heatran. Cloyster sets Spikes and Toxic Spikes, removes entry hazards, and wears down physical attackers like Melmetal, Urshifu-R, and Victini thanks to Rocky Helmet. Additionally, Cloyster's access to Teleport can bring Weavile in safely without sacking a Pokemon or making a prediction.

Choice Band can be used to get past defensive Pokemon like Slowbro and Ferrothorn more quickly, but that could leave Weavile revenge killed by many Choice Scarf users like Jirachi, Victini, and Tapu Lele. Swords Dance is also an option to break through the aforementioned defensive Pokemon; however, Weavile's lack of bulk gives it little setup opportunities. Ice Shard is used on Choice Band and Swords Dance sets to revenge kill threats like Hawlucha and weakened Autotomize Celesteela.

Checks and Counters

Ice

**Entry Hazards**: Sticky Web defeats the purpose of Choice Scarf, since Weavile won't be able to revenge kill threats like +1 Volcarona and +1 Heracross. Weavile is also easily worn down by Spikes, Toxic Spikes, and Stealth Rock.

**Revenge Killers**: Choice Scarf Dragapult, Barraskewda in rain, and Alolan Raichu in Electric Terrain can all revenge kill Weavile. Priority users like Scizor and Urshifu-R can check Weavile with Bullet Punch and Aqua Jet.

**Defensive Pokemon**: Weavile struggles to get past defensive Pokemon like Clefable, Torkoal, and Toxapex and is worn down easily by their attacks. However, Pokemon like Celesteela and Swampert definitely don't appreciate Knock Off, since they lack a good recovery move. Slowbro comes in on Weavile when it's expecting a Psychic from its teammates and threatens it with a Scald burn.

**Status**: Weavile is crucially hindered by a burn, since it makes it harder to revenge kill threats like Spectrier and Victini. Paralysis causes it to be slower than Pokemon is meant to revenge kill like Choice Scarf Excadrill and Zeraora. Burn and poison also lower its longevity over time.

Low Kick targets Pokemon like Melmetal, Cobalion, Bisharp, and Weavile for more damage.

All of Weavile's teammates appreciate its ability to revenge kill threats like Jirachi, Tapu Lele, Blacephalon, and Volcarona. Alolan Ninetales sets Aurora Veil to give Weavile endurability along with checking Water- and Fighting-types like Urshifu-R, Gastrodon, and Bewear. In return, Weavile can check specially defensive Pokemon like Dragalge, Galarian Slowking, and Tyranitar that Alolan Ninetales has a hard time getting rid of. Kyurem can use a special set with SubRoost or a physical set with Dragon Dance. The former checks the aforementioned Water-types and Steel-types like Heatran and Magnezone with Earth Power, while the latter performs well late game against types like Electric, Poison, and Flying once wallbreakers like Glastrier and Galarian Darmanitan have made progress earlier in the game. Glastrier can use Substitute + Swords Dance to break through defensive Pokemon like Galarian Weezing and Ferrothorn that Weavile struggles to get rid of. Galarian Darmanitan can revenge kill threats like Choice Scarf Excadrill and Choice Band Galarian Zapdos with Choice Scarf or alternatively breakthrough defensive Pokemon like Celesteela and Toxapex easier with Choice Band. Entry hazard setters like Cloyster, Piloswine, and Mamoswine are encouraged to help Weavile pick up KOs on defensive Pokemon like Slowbro and Heatran. Cloyster sets Spikes and Toxic Spikes, remove entry hazards and wears down physical attacks like Melmetal and Victini thanks to Rocky Helmet. Additionally, Cloyster's access to Teleport can bring Weavile in safely without sacking a Pokemon or making a prediction. Both Piloswine and Mamoswine set Stealth Rock and provides Electric immunity to check Tapu Koko, Zapdos, and Regieleki. Piloswine can check special attackers like Volcarona, Thundurus-T, and Choice Specs Zapdos thanks to Eviolite, while Mamoswine is good for an offensive presence against defensive Pokemon like Amoonguss and Tornadus.

**Status**: Weavile is crucially hindered by a burn since it makes it harder to revenge kill and paralysis, causing it to be slower than things it's supposed to check. Burn and poison also lower its longevity over time.

Overview: Don't need to mention that Weavile has a shit defensive typing because 100% of the Pokemon on Ice do. Generally it's okay to not talk about x Pokemon having y type on y type team because you're constructing a team entirely full of y type so you're not weighing in the typing as to whether or not you're using it on the team. For the poor bulk you should say that its easily picked off by priority if chipped. Need to use Choice Specs Tapu Lele over Mew as an example of Psychic immunity though since Mew either 1. doesn't carry Psychic STAB or 2. carries other moves to hit it.

Set comments: Would definitely mention Zeraora for Foul Play. Don't mention everyone liking Weavile's ability to revenge kill threats because that's kind of a given seeing as that's its main role in an Ice team.

For most of the team options you basically just listed the top viable Pokemon on Ice and the sets they can run to support the entire Ice team instead of relating to Weavile specifically, like for example saying Alolan Ninetales sets Aurora Veil for Weavile when every Pokemon on Ice appreciates that. When writing the team options you should think about it like explaining it to a new player when talking about Weavile and how to build around it. Please revise this section and I'll check it again.

Other options: Swords Dance deserves a mention. Specify Ice Shard should be only on Choice Band or Swords Dance.

Checks and counters: Slowbro needs to be mentioned for Defensive Pokemon since it can switch into it on Psychic where Weavile would usually slap. The Water Pokemon fall into the other categories, mainly defensive Pokemon that Weavile cannot break through, so you can remove it. I’d focus on Burn and Paralysis for the status bullet and how they cripple Weavile offensively; Ice isn’t the type of playstyle to be playing drawn out games since it’s usually get up Veil/hazards and click with breakers/setup so getting badly poisoned by Toxic is really whatever.

Revise team options and I’ll check it again then give QC 1.
