Werecario's 2010 VGC Team

Hello I am entering the vgc competition in Dallas and I would like some help knowing how my team so far fares. I have six pokemon even though I can only use 4. I would like some help knowing a) how my team is and b) knowing which 4 I sould use, if they are good enough to use. I designed my team to work together pretty well and so far my main strategy has worked in the battle tower doubles but that doesn't really mean anything. Anyway, here is my team.

Machamp @ Lum Berry
Ability: No Guard
EVs: 252 hp, 252 atk, 6 def
Nature: Adamant
- Dynamic punch
- Earthquake
- Stone edge
- Protect

I chose Machamp because he is a strong hitter that will always hit. I figured that in VGC you cant afford to miss so Machamp would be a good option especially with strong moves that usually have a low accuracy like stone edge and dynamic punch, which is especially good because of the stab and automatic confusion. Machamp also works with one of my other pokemon which is...

Smeargle @ Focus Sash
Ability: Own Tempo
EVs: 252 hp, 252 speed, 6 def
Nature: Timid
- dark void
- role play
- sheer cold
- gastro acid

Smeargle is favored by me because of his ability to have any move. I picked dark void for the obvious reason of putting every enemy to sleep that does not have a lum or chesto berry. This next part is the part I love. Role play is to get the same ability as Machamp as others are alseep and Sheer cold is for a never miss OHKO. Accepting dark void hits I can take out a couple of enemies before they can get me. Focus sash is because of the fact Smeargle is weak. I also know that his weakness is sandstorm/ hail and priority attacks. His weakness is bad but I think that if This works he will destroy. Gastro acid is for another pokemon on my team I will get to that later. If the other pokemon ends up not being one of the 4 then i will change gastro acid.

Ambipom @ Razor Fang
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 speed, 252 atk
Nature: Adamant
- Fake out
- Double Hit
- Arial Ace
- Fling

I consider Ambipom one of the better ones on the team (in shoddy battle it has single handidly taken out up to 3 sweepers per match). Fake out is 40 power but in the hands of ambipom it is a free 90 power attack that causes flinching. Double hit is possibly his best STAB attack with 157.5 power. Fake out and double hit together can easily take out most sweepers Garchomp and Mewtwo. Switching out Ambipom after these two attacks allows the ability to reuse fake out and hurt another pokemon. Arial ace is 90 power with ambipoms technician and can super effectively hit abomasnow, shininja, heracross, and machamp and it will hit any evasive pokemon making double teamers not an issue. Fling is typically relatively weak especially with razor fang only wielding 35 power, but with ambipom, it becomes 52.5 power and 105 on ghost/ psychic and a flung razor claw make oponent flinch. This will stop those pesky ubers/OU's from attacking for one turn. Ambipom can also out run most pokemon that arent sashed.

Porygon-Z @ Chople Berry
Ability: Download
EVs: 252 speed, 252 spa, 6 def
Nature:
- Dark Pulse
- Psychic
- Blizzard
- Protect

Porygon-Z has brutal Spa and decent speed allowing him to do devestating damage to opponents. Dark pulse is to take out the ghosts and psychics in the Uber/OU tiers that will most definately be present. Psychic is for the fighting and posions like infernape, toxicroak, and genger. Blizzard use to be ice beam but with the fact I will be going against two opponents and the probability of hail with abomasnows rise to fame I changed it to blizzard. No to mention the fact Ice super effectively hurts the so many dragons that are always there and the always common flying that people put in to have protection from earthquake. Protect is for protection for the predictable explosions and earthquakes and its in for scouting. Chople berry is in to weaken fighting attacks hopefully allowing at least two hits from him.

Regigigas @ Flame orb
Ability: Slow Start :(
EVs: 252 hp, 252 atk, 6 def
Nature: Adamant
- facade
- earthquake
- rock slide
- super power

OK this is where the gastro acid from smeargle comes into play. Smeargle uses gastro acid on regigigas taking away his biggest weakness, his ability. The reason he is holding a flame orb is for the purpose of a 210 power facade. Earthquake is for hitting all but fly/ levataters. Rock slide is for hitting all oponents including shininja, weaville, salamence, and lugia/ ho-oh. Super power is for a strong attack that will hurt dialga, T-Tar, and heatran.

Gengar @ Expert Belt
Ability: Levatate
EVs: 252 spa, 252 speed, 6 sdef
Nature: Timid
- Protect
- shadow ball
- sludge bomb
- energy ball

Gengar is for switching in to when someone is about to use a fighting move on one of my normal pokemon. He is also there for someone that can aviod earthquake. Protect is for scouting because he is not very bulky. Shadow ball is for a strong stab attack. Sludge bomb is for a even stronger stab that will hurt breloom, leafeon, and rosarade. Energy ball is for hurting any water pokemon that my others can not hit very well. I think he will be a good back up for who ever i lead with.

I know I am very weak to fighting, that is why I have Gengar to switch to and have pokemon with fly/psychic moves. I also know that this team has several small weaknesses like smeargle and weather and the fact i dont have many bulky pokemon. I would like for honest, brutal answers because I am only interested in getting better. Also I would like help choosing which, if any, four I sould use. I am leaning towards starting with smeargle/ machamp with ambipom and genger as back up or starting with porygon-z and ambipom with gengar and someone else as back up. Truth is I wont know until I get help. Thanks =D

No ubers, and the mistaken assumption that Smeargle or even Machamp will live long enough to pull off Sheer Cold + No Guard (which isn't all that effective when you can deal piles of damage quickly). This does not look like a VGC 2010 team. This looks like a VGC 2009 team.

Thank you everyone for the advice. I have decided to revamp my team and get rid of everyone except for ambipom because i love him lol, though i am replacing arial ace with u-turn. I am adding in some ubers like suggested. I am also focusing on making a team that only has four pokemon that work well together. Thanks for the advice =)
