Hey guys, this is RoyalClown and I present to you my first RMT.
English is not my native lenguage, let me know if you find any mistake!
Team building process
Ok, heres the one of the few pokemon I dont hate from Gen 5. In fact, this turned out to be one of my favorites just because of
Zoroark/Breelom combo... what else can I say? People used to say Ilussion was a gimmick abbilitie thanks to Gen 5 Team Preview. Oh, my sweet summer children. With Breelom in the last slot, I can bluff a priority Mach Punch or a signature Spore and take down a lot of these guy´s counters, debilitating the opponent and providing support for the little toad at the same time.
Since Gen 1, people considered Alakazam as the most intelligent pokemon. They were dead wrong. The most intelligent pokemon in ths whole universe is Shellder, and theres only one reason for it: he knows what a freaking beast Slowbro is and the only way to survive it in the end is just kissing his ass... eternally. Regenerator slowbro puts at check a lot of popular pokemon that can harass Breelom and Zoroark and thats enough reason for Him to be here.
I love support Scizor, I just do. I dont have anything in this team that levitates or flies so I REALLY need the all-mighty buffed Defog to get rid of the spikes. He can tank a lot of things in his Megaform and a Technician boosted bullet punch always comes in handy.
Finally I needed a sweeper and a lead to finish the job, so I brought 6th gen BFFs. Not much to say here
THE TEAM
Got ya! (Zoroark) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Illusion
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Night Daze/Dark Pulse
- Flamethrower
- Trick
- Extrasensory
Zoroark stats are not that great if we compare him to the rest of the metagame. Phisically, is way weaker than Crawdawnt or M- Absol and he cant go mixed like Hydregon withough sacrificing a lot of power. Still, this Ditto wannabe can still cause havoc with his decent 120 base Sp. Att stat and Choice Specs to boost it even further.
To choose between Night Daze and Dark Pulse is really hard. One gives a really handy accuracy drop and a little more power, the other can provide a life saving flinch and perfect accuracy. Some will choose Dark Pulse for the flinch (PS. I fucking hate you) but I think the accuracy drop is more helpful in a long term. If you manage to hit a pokemon with already shaky accuracy moves (Fire Blast, Sleep Powder, Stone Edge) it doesnt really matter if you did low damage. Still, you should consider that Nigh Daze CAN AND WILL FAIL EVENTUALLY, even if it has 95% accuracy. The last time I played, I missed two times in a row and, of course, that cost me the game. But maybe thats just because
As I said before, Zoroark most likely will be facing threats that Breelom cant handle, this includes the loved/hated Skarmory and Ferrethorn. In this world, the only thing more beautiful than seeing one of these annoying pokemon being burned to death by a fucking Breelom is wold peace. Just ask yourselves, which one do you think is going to happen first?
Fire and Dark provide almost perfect neutral coverage but we can still raise the bet. Extrasensory can hit some fighting types quite hard and do healthy damage to the Stall King M- Venasaur himself in the swich in.
Finally, Trick help me cripple Chansey, Clafable and some other tanks that otherwise, Zorark couldnt handle.
1UP (Breloom) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Technician
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Spore
- Bullet Seed
- Mach Punch
- Rock Tomb
With Breelom in you team, the least he can do is put one pokemon to sleep and cripple another one with a sexy 130 base Attack combined with one of the best abbilities in-game and a great typing.
Spore is his signature move, 100% chance to drug an opposing pokemon. If you use any variation of Breelom that lacks of Spore, please, stop reading and go play Digimon. You should consider that Spore cant affect his fellow grass types. Take care of them before spamming it.
Game Freak "boosted" Low Sweep in Gen 6. Im not kidding, just look it up, they added like five freaking points of base power. One of the most useful moves for Breelom does not receive the Technician boost anymore. Still, the Boss blessed us with a lovely Rock Tomb boost. Now, Rock Tomb provides the useful Speed drop of Low Sweep and still does a lot of damage, OHKOing various common swich-ins like Charizard, Talonflame and Volcarona. Rock Tomb should be used right after Spore if you want to play it safe. Breelom´s speed is not that great, believe me...
Some people ask me frequently "Hey, why do you use Mach Punch if you already have Rock Tomb and Jolly nature?". To those people:
If you are are playing against me and use a Breelom, chances are that Bullet Seed will inflict a whooping 187.5 STAB damage to my poor tortured soul. Yes, when Bullet Seed strikes 5 times in a row, it is even more powerful than V-Create, do the math you lazy bump. If Im playing against you, its also fine, my Breelom´s Bullet Seed can still do a healthy 75 damage, still more powerful than Mach Punch.
Focus Sash help A LOT, specially in a metagame filled with boosting moves, priority moves and
Ohmar (Slowbro) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
- Ice Beam
- Scald
- Psychic/Foul Play
- Fire Blast
Deoxys S... Deoxys D... Lucario... Genesect... Long ago, this four powerful pokemon played together in harmony. Then everything changed when the Smogon University attacked. Only Aegislash, master of all stats could stop them. But when the world needed him most, he vanished.
Dont be fooled by his appearance or the fact he is in UU. Slowbro is not just a pretty face. Since the ban of Deoxys-S , Slowbro had to take his position in a different way. Dexoys-S was banned because of his abbilite to exploit the most powerful OU pokemon x4 weaknesses, Slowbro is now doing the same. By trading speed for bulk, Slowbro can put and end to Landorus, Scizor, Ferrethorn and Garchomp with Ice beam and Fire Blast, even withough investing in Sp. Attack (Ferrethorn is still a 2HKO though, boohoo).
Deoxys ban wasnt the only reason why Slowbro in now a force to reckon with in OU, Aegislash ban affected him as well. "Why", do you ask? Now that Aegislash is gone, one of the most underestimated mega evolution is back (was it ever "in"?). Mega Medicham is powerful... just too powerful. A strong Fake Out plus STAB High Jump Kick or STAB Zen Headbutt is just ridiculous for regular pokemon to handle. Even if its a neutral hit, High Jump Kick is going to hurt. This is where Slowbro enters the picture. With his dual typing, he can easily sponge most of Medicham attacks (please dont have Thunder Punch, please dont have Thunder Punch...). To top that, its abbility, Regenerator, allows him to perfectly sponge the powerfull Fake Outs coming from MegaCham with not a single scratch.
Slowbro STAB attacks are pretty decent too. Scald is cool and the 30% chance to burn will make you cross your fingers on each hit. I dont if I should change Psychic for Foul Play. Psychic is Slowbro´s most powerful attack and can hit Keldeo pretty hard, but Foul Play can deal serious damage to monsters like X-Zard.
Assault Vest is prefered over Leftovers because I really need the coverage Slowbro provides and Regenerator can replace Slack Off. It should be noted that, although really bulky, Slowbro cant tank many super effective hits, like Bisharp´s Knock Off.
Deoxys (Scizor) @ Scizorite
Ability: Technician
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 Def
Impish Nature
- Bullet Punch
- Knock Off
- Roost
- Defog
This is were Bisharp´s Knock Off should come to. Defensive Scizor can tank most neutral attacks, like Landorus T powerful Earthquake and recover the damage with Roost.
The brand new 130 powered Knock Off is great for the MANY swich out that Scizor is gonna get, creepling most Choice or Leftover users and dealing a nice chunks of pain in most pokemon.
Bullet Punch is THE priority, the one that made Scizor king of pokemon back in the 4th generation. Although it has been outclassed by many other brand new priority moves, it still hurts like hell and can scare many of the new fairies.
As I said before, this team is really weak to Spikes so Defog is mandatory. Also I dont have any poison type, so Toxic Spikes can hurt most of my pokemon really bad. Is nice that steel isnt affected by it. Also, I can keep my sashed pokemon nice and healthy.
Reptar (Tyranitar) @ Focus Sash
Ability: Sand Stream
EVs: 200 Atk / 56 SpA / 252 Spe
Naughty Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Stone Edge
- Fire Blast
- Ice Beam
Ok, this is were I unleash all my hate for regular leads, and yes, Im looking directly at you Skarmory, Ferrethorn, Landorus, Garchomp, Charizard, you make me sick.
When I first encountered a sash Tyranitar (yes Im going to use two sash pokemon, Im going to hell) I was disgusted. One of the most bulky pokemon in the metagame cant have an item to survive more than one attack. It took me a while to realize that I was wrong. The sash helps me invest in Speed and survive hits that would normalky KO me, like Y Zard Focus Blast, and retaliate with a powerful STAB Stone Edge.
By going mixed I can 2HKO Ferrethron, Skarmory and OHKO Landorus, which are the most popular leads. Before this guy came to town, I had a lot of problems with them.
Stealth Rock is great. Before using it, I make sure that there is at least one vulnerable pokemon. For example, I prefer sacrificing Tyranitar if a Dragonite is in the other team, waiting a weak Ice Beam to activate the weakness policy or if a Choice Banded Talonflame that could rip my team apart is sitting duck.
Even though this Tyranitar works almost like a suicide lead. I really need to keep him alive as much as I can, and that because...
Holey Moley (Excadrill) @ Life Orb
Ability: Sand Rush
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Earthquake
- Iron Head
- Rock Slide
- Swords Dance
This is not your regular spinner. With Sand Rush, Excadrill is one of the premier sweepers in the tier. With a whooping 135 Base Attack, perfect coverage, being faster than all the metagame while sandstorm is in the table and access to Sword Dance... no, this is just too much. Just keep that in mind.
Thanks for reading guys! This took me a while and I hope you all enjoy it. If anyone wants to use this team, my life would be complete.
